Is there anything prettier than the Fords of 1954-1956? Or maybe it's just the memories. First program of the season was vintage and classic cars on Saturday, June 23.
Murray sez: Yeah, the good ol days of sexy cars designs. I wish I had my hot '55 red and white Chevy convertible back. I'd be the envy of the neighborhood!
As a kid in the 1960s, my paternal grandparents had a mid '50s Ford, a two-tone.
Then for a few years either side of 1970, my Dad had a black 1954 Ford that was his to-and-from-work car.
Us boys called my Dad's 54 Ford, "Old Buck," and loved it. Riding with my Dad with the windows down with a few friends is a great memory.
My older sister, however, was in her early teens and embarrassed to be seen in it. If she even suspected that a school friend was in a nearby car in traffic, she would duck down out of sight.
I would love to have one restored like those you photographed. Lovely.
