Robinson is my favorite. I am surprised somewhat that you read him...knowing his bent.He is about the only bright some in our local paper anymore...it gets skinnier and skinnier. I grew up reading three newspapers...I am down to one a day and the weekend NY Times...times they are a changin.
From what I'm seeing, he married the Barbie... but wanted something not quite so... whatever. I'm looking for a word here that signifies less than pure and idealistic... but much more than low down and dirty.
But I think Robinson is wrong to equate Wood's desire with nationality and/or race.
Or perhaps he is less than brave and honest in not going ahead and asking why Tiger didn't choose an African-American for a mistress.

ReplyDeleteA number of years ago he wrote one of the best articles I've seen on the safety net of marriage and the extended family.

I think that was Raspberry's column, not Robinson's, but it was excellent. I'll keep looking.
ReplyDeleteNot Barbie; maybe Bratz dolls? Fat lips; big eyes; imitating the "real" Barbie?
