Add "slave" to the word list

Tiger Woods' former caddy (obviously bad blood there) used the word "slave" in describing his working conditions in his book. That's pretty silly on the surface, considering his pay, but to claim that whites can't use the word? Do these rabble rousers know there is more slavery today than in the 18th century? Instead of making up trouble, do something about the new term, "trafficking in persons." Probably would help to go back to the old term.

The Addiction Report

Here's an odd site to stumble into--The Addiction Report, with Tiger getting almost a perfect score. I was following a different lead--why 40 years after the current women's movement began major news stories are all about men especially athletes (9 headlines) when I came across this one on addiction, featuring Tiger Woods. Pretty interesting. If you've known any addicts or attended any 12 step programs, you've heard about the cross addictions, risk taking behavior and rage incidents.

Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods, involved in a 2 a.m. accident that seemed inexplicable, until the world learned of:

(1) his serial adultery with more than a dozen women (sexually compulsive; borrowing the methodology from Drunks, Drugs & Debits, 50% odds of alcoholism),

(2) the fact that he seems to have met most of these women in nightclubs and that most if not all of the women appear to be "party" girls (addicts often hang out with addicts; by itself probably 20%, but add 20% of the remaining 50%, or 10%; see "enablers of the month" below for the luscious details),

(3) that with at least two of the women he not only didn't use condoms, but didn't even ask if the women were using birth control (signs of a sense of invincibility and unnecessarily reckless behaviors; 50% by itself, but, sticking to the methodology, add 50% of the remaining 40%, or 20%),

(4) reported tantrums on the golf course (rage; by itself, 50%, but we can't go over 80% without proof of addictive use; so this simply provides more evidence that the odds of addiction are at least 80%),

(5) a report that he "had been drinking alcohol" before the incident (evidence of addictive use when combined with a misbehavior such as possible DUI; we've now exceeded 80% odds), and

(6) prescriptions to Ambien and Vicodin (which puts the odds of addiction at well over 90%). The fact that one of his mistresses reported he likes to have "Ambien sex" suggests he combines drugs, which with serial unethical behaviors ups the odds of psychotropic drug addiction and, therefore, an explanation (but emphatically not an excuse) for his extra-marital misbehaviors, to nearly 100%--or close enough to make runner-up for top story rather than merely "under watch" (whose denizens display behaviors suggesting 80% odds of addiction, but no greater due to the absence of proof of addictive use)."

But like the aide who covered for John Edwards' spooky behavior and make-believe liberalism, you do have to wonder about what was wrong with all the other golfers and hangers-on, friends, trainers and coaches, sports writers, doctors and club owners who watched all this and kept quiet. But having enablers around them, is also part of the scenario, and if you throw in a huge pot of money and a sense of power, you've got a very toxic mix more addictive and explosive than any drink ever could be.

And by the way, one of those nine stories actually was a woman--the death of Casey Johnson, daughter of Jets owner and heiress of the Johnson and Johnson fortune--a sad conclusion that the news is still all about men and sports.

All this fuss over forgiveness

Brit Hume has come under attack for making a suggestion about Tiger Woods spiritual needs.

"He's said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, 'Tiger, turn your faith—turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.'"

I've seen every imaginable lurid and ridiculous comment about his promiscuity, adultery and disease spreading behavior--even a 12 month calendar featuring his mistresses, but leave it to a Christian offering comfort and help to really upset the left. Story here. Oprah is a much bigger name than Hume and she talks up her faith all the time--that warm, fuzzy, new agey stuff--they don't complain about her, nor do her supporters, fans and sponsors.

Sports and Greed

Recent events in science, politics, national security and the economy have caused many of us to completely lose faith in our so called “free and independent press,” because broadcast and print journalists carried the water for Obama in 2007-2008, downplayed the pinholes in the expanding housing bubble when there was still time to do something, research institutions and gatekeepers of the peer review sources manipulated data and blacklisted colleagues for the sake of government grants and personal gain in science, and cable, new media “fact checkers” and news aggregators played up every mistake of the military during the Bush years while ignoring the big picture with an end result of helping our enemies. The final straw has been the Tiger Woods story, at least for me. Yesterday I was reading How Tiger Protected his Image, in the WSJ. As I tried to work my way through the convoluted, complex story of Tiger’s deal with Golf Digest, I stumbled over many other media sources--Conde Nast, Tiger Woods’ own foundation, American Media, Inc., The National Enquirer, Men’s Fitness, News of the World, News Corp., Woods’ handlers, representatives, photographers, Laveley & Singer law firm in LA, spokespeople, editors, Media Industry Newsletter, and finally (but not the first) the hapless, untipped waitress in the church parking lot and her family.

And no, this isn’t just a story about sex, or even possible redemption, which for some reason many Christian writers are playing up. It’s a story about a systemic problem--greed. When his wife or babies test positive for an STD, then maybe we can say it’s about infidelity and sex, but in the meantime, the sports and information industries have some explaining to do their values.

No, you take her!

From Tim Reynolds AP report on how Tiger is hurting the other pro golfers and the fans.

"Take Dodie Mills, a 61-year-old pediatric nurse from Port Charlotte, Fla. She was at the Shootout to see Kenny Perry, among others, but says her real lure to watching and playing golf has been Woods.

Him, she wants to forgive.

The women whom Woods has reportedly been linked to, Mills has much harsher words for them.

"I think all the fame, all the money he has, all the women took advantage of it," Mills said. "He and his wife love each other. I know they do, and Tiger will do what's right. ... I can understand how a man in that position can be very easily swayed by women. I was 23 once. He's in his prime. All these women wanted a piece of him."

Mills was hardly alone in that assessment.

Noted sports attorney David Cornwell also pointed out that the women — more than 10 by some counts — who have been romantically linked to Woods in the last two weeks should bear as much of the blame as the golfer himself."

What vow did these women break? Who was bringing possible disease and mayhem home to the marriage bed? Poor, little helpless, self-centered, rich beyond his wildest dreams, Tiger. Victimized by all these low life Bimbos, run of the mill waitresses and "non-professionals" as a former madam called them. While his wife was pregnant. Yeah, lots of sympathy I'd give the adulterer. Most of these dreary look-alikes thought she only was "special," that she was the one to light the fire the wife at home couldn't. Where's the sympathy for confused, morally corrupt women? Give me a break. That's about the most idiotic piece of writing I've seen on this topic!

When better isn't good enough

Imagine that. He needs soul-searching to reach deep within his vacuous, moldy value system to see if bedding Bratz look-alike Bimbos was the best work out routine for his wife, family and career. If we can believe these devoted groupies, some of whom are probably confessing just to get their photo on the web, "everyone" knew--they were seen publically, photos were taken, arrangements were made for the hook-ups. Since he made no attempt to hide it, even other golf celebs knew and didn't say anything, just what did Tiger think was going to happen? (Probably not that his wife would clobber him with a golf club.) Where was the press which was so concerned about Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, Michael Vick, Dave Letterman (for 2 or 3 days) and other morally shriveled celebs? Apparently firmly attached to the Tiger gravy train. It was worth more to keep quiet than to sell that story to his adoring, blind public.

When these ladies of the night (and day and morning) start comparing dollar figures, there is going to be some flaming wrath and law suits like you wouldn't believe, but by then the press will have moved on to protect their next income source.

Robinson's column on race

Now, if a conservative white radio commentator had been this racial, all hell would break loose, but I think we get Mr. Robinson's drift.

Common sense skeptics want to know

Gradually, the scandal in the U.K. over the hidden and doctored climate data is slowly swimming across the ocean to lap up on our beached media whales. Wall Street Journal, the most liberal of our news sources, had an article on p. A-16 today. Not ready for prime space yet--it's only been 2 weeks.

"The East Anglia institute that Dr. Jones headed has become a key player in building evidence for the U.N.'s argument that humans are behind global warming.In statements released by the institute in recent days, Dr. Jones has defended the integrity of the institute's scientific work, while saying that he and his colleagues "accept that some of the published emails do not read well."

On Tuesday, Penn State University confirmed that Michael Mann -- a climate scientist on its faculty who figures prominently in the emails -- was under "inquiry" by the university. In one email, Dr. Jones suggested to Dr. Mann that they should try to keep out of scientific journals the research of scientists who challenge the idea of manmade global warming.

The U.K. probe, to be completed next spring, will also review the climatic research unit's policies and practices on disseminating data and research findings and subjecting them to peer review, and look at how the unit handled requests under Britain's Freedom of Information Act."

Our media have been totally consumed with the couple who strolled into a White House party without an invitation, and the Tiger Woods' semi-private party. Apparently, scientists, reality show wannabees and celebrities can all be bought for the price of a dream--be it money, power, fame or sex. They've all turned out to have clay feet firmly resting on the pedestal we've built for them. The White House party crashers, Michaele and Tariq Salahi, not a climate/economy scam scheme, are worthy of a congressional hearing. I'm in complete disagreement with Glenn Beck on this one. He thinks the President was in danger. They were security screened for weapons just like all the other guests, so I doubt that; and someone on Obama's staff got them in. They might be stupid, but they love the guy.

Let's think about it. Tiger couldn't have pulled off a couple of long term affairs without his staff and friends helping him and bringing the women to him; the Salahis couldn't have made it into the party without their connections with NBC (which owns Bravo) which has been drooling over Barack Obama for 3 years; and the climate data people couldn't have pulled off what they've been doing for 10 years without a lot of backing--probably from people in the "green" industry, and a second guess would be those who want all western governments and cultures to fail, or maybe they were colluding with both. That one definitely has the money/power smell to it. Tiger's mess just smells like soiled sheets.

The U.K. probe won't be completed until next Spring; by then Obama should be ready for another economic coup if we don't stop him. He told us during his campaign that our energy costs would skyrocket. He didn't tell us that the fuse was a complete phony and might blow up in his face. 1) Manipulating peer review journal publication of anything that dissents with the AGW religion; 2) denial of requests under the freedom of information act; 3) "losing" the data on which the whole AGW scare is built.
