My husband's been at an art show most of the afternoon, and it's raining, so I'm listening to the music channels on cable. I worked my way through Christmas for about 30 minutes and decided it's just a little early with Thanksgiving being next week. Then I did some blues and jazz and Christian gospel. Now I've settled on Classic Country, which seems to be the 70s through about 1985 before country went to town with bling and pop. I didn't know there was a song about a 1957 Chevy. Sung by Billie Jo Spears--hadn't heard about her either. She's probably doing the retirement home circuit now--born in 1937. Also enjoying the Statlers, George Strait, Johnnie Cash and George Jones.
Do they write love songs about Toyotas?

Loving my "new" Easy Loving" CD
I got a 2 disk Time Life Superstars of Country Easy Loving (2005) at a yard sale in Lakeside for $1.00. There were several others--wish I'd bought them, too. Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Lynn Anderson, Crystal Gayle, Tammy Wynette, Charlie Rich, etc.

Thursday Thirteen--13 Singers I didn't know I missed
On Monday we got a digital box for our cable TV and some new features, including the music channels. One is classic country. It plays, without voice overs or advertising, C&W songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I'm hearing singers I didn't know I'd forgotten. Most of the time I recognize the voice and song, but sometimes I have to walk into the living room and see who's singing. Guess I don't listen much to music radio any more. A few I've enjoyed this afternoon
