Clay Travis and Buck Sexton show--in Rush's time slot

I had my first opportunity to listen to https://clayandbuck.com/ show the last 2 days. On 610 am in Columbus they are in the Rush Limbaugh time slot--noon to 3 p.m. I'd never heard of Clay, but have followed Buck off and on since he was a regular on the Glenn Beck show years ago. Good topics--not news of course, but clearly stated to be their opinion. At CNN and MSNBC you get opinion shows, "hate America shows," "excuse the Bidens all their crimes shows" which are called news. Bad idea.

But I am a tad concerned about Buck's speech in this format. I don't know if he's speaking faster than usual because there are 2 of them and it's conversation, or if he's got a loose tooth. His formerly very precise and careful speech is sounding squishy. It's the sibilant sounds--anything with an S sound, see, say, first, or with some letter c words like, place, which seems to be an orphan without its own sound. Some consonant blends also sound slurpy to my ear.

Maybe it's my imagination, but I think when two speakers are very close in sound (they both are very deep), they are difficult to distinguish in radio format. Red Eye Radio, which is a talk show for truckers in Texas, with Eric Harley and Gary McNamara, has the same format, and I can't tell the two of them apart.

Generation Z is conservative

Generation Z (born 1997 and after) is more conservative than the Millennials, and have had strong support for Trump.

  • A 2016 American study found that while only 18% of Millennials attended church, church attendance was 41% among Generation Z.
  • Polls found eight out of ten members of Gen Z considered themselves “fiscally conservative.”
  • In certain areas, Generation Z is more risk-averse than the Millennials. In 2013, 66% of teenagers had tried alcohol, down from 82% in 1991.

I heard a lovely young lady on The First TV News channel this afternoon. Quite informative. Also, if you're a conservative, you like this channel. Sunday it was featuring an expose of Black Lives Matter. The First is dedicated to free speech, bold opinions, and big ideas. Americans who are tired of being marginalized and are ready to speak up should check it out. https://pluto.tv/live-tv/the-first Hosts include Bill O'Reilly, Dana Loesch, Buck Sexton, Jesse Kelly, Mike Slater, and a many top contributors. The First currently offers eight hours of original programming daily and is part of the OTT (Over The Top) platform Pluto TV — a free internet-based streaming television site.

Madison Cawthorn, who recently won a congressional seat in North Carolina just turned 25, and is the youngest member of Congress in over 200 years.

Do churches know this? Are they bleeding young people? Maybe they should pay attention and stop trying to be so "woke."

It's not what you think

Jobs? Border Security? North Korea? Graduation rates? Student loan debt? Zilch. Nada. Just monuments and flags, and next it will be WWII monuments and the U.S. stars and stripes. If you thought this was about slavery or the Confederacy, wake up.

Yet so many are naïve.  How many people were subjected to vague references to bigotry or "the last 7 months" with a big sigh in today's Sunday services? The Democrats are leaderless and Republicans spineless.
“I want to talk to you about the manufactured moral crisis in this country right now, because that’s truly what’s going on,” said Buck. “We’re in the midst of a moral panic. A manufactured moral crisis and while a lot of us could just ignore it, it will have ramifications. It should be met on the battlefield of ideas and blown to smithereens.”

“This is very dangerous stuff, he added. “This notion that we have to go back and erase, eliminate, re-write, pave-over, whatever it may be, different parts of history has got to stop. It feels incredibly soviet –because the soviets did exactly this kind of thing. It feels very totalitarian –because totalitarian regimes are quite concerned with the past as a means of controlling the future.”
