City Council to support abortion with our money

"Today, Ohio Right to Life released a statement in response to Columbus City Council’s recently approved ordinance no. 2215-2022. The ordinance was approved on July 25th, 2022, and is one of several ordinances which compose the city council’s larger initiative to protect so-called "reproductive healthcare" for pregnant women. Ordinance no. 2215-2022 authorizes a partnership with Pro-Choice Ohio to investigate the medical legitimacy of Crisis Pregnancy Centers. The ordinance states that this attack will be funded by $26,500 of taxpayer funds, taken from the Neighborhood Initiative subfund.

“I have personally worked with dozens of pregnancy centers across the state of Ohio during my years of pro-life work. The individuals who work at these pregnancy centers are some of the most kind, caring, competent, and loving individuals that you could encounter,” says Ohio Right to Life's Executive Director Peter Range. He continued, “I invite each city council member in the state of Ohio to visit with me their local pregnancy centers so they can see firsthand the amazing work they are doing for mothers, fathers, and babies in need.”

Ohio Right to Life's Director of Communications Elizabeth Whitmarsh strongly condemned the ordinance, stating “the targeting of pregnancy resource centers will put vulnerable women at risk and strip them of the resources they need on a day-to-day basis.” She went on to say, “the obvious truth here is that the anti-life activists do not care about women in need, and in fact, they are willing to put them at risk of survival if it means they can silence pro-life voices.” Peter Range shared similar sentiments: “The fact that these pregnancy centers are under attack is a clear illustration the left is not focused on women’s health, but just expanding abortion.” "

When has Mr. Trump said this about females?

"According to the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood's research arm, 1.06 million abortions occurred in the United States in 2011. We know that Hillary Clinton's pro-abortion agenda will be an aggressive, radical expansion of Barack Obama's policies over the last 8 years. We simply CANNOT give another 4 years to a pro-abortion President." (Ohio Right to Life, Nov. 8, 2016)

About 18,000 of those abortions were 3rd trimester, when the child could live outside the womb. Those abortions happen when the parents split, or a disability is discovered, or the baby is the wrong gender. Mrs. Clinton supports this and renames this "reproductive health." Half of them would be female, or 9,000. Has Trump ever suggested killing 9,000 females?

Hamilton Co. Ohio Abortion Clinic to close

From Ohio Right to Life, Columbus, Ohio--Today, the Ohio Department of Health affirmed its order to shut down abortionist Martin Haskell's Sharonville clinic, the Lebanon Road Surgery Center, for failure to meet Ohio medical standards. Specifically, Haskell's clinic operated without a transfer agreement with any area hospital and was unable to identify any doctors within the region that wanted assist his abortion business. Haskell's abortion clinic must cease all operations and close it's doors on or before February 4, 2014.

According to Ohio law, Lebanon Road Surgery Center exists as an Ambulatory Surgical Facility and because of this legal status, the clinic is not a full-service medical facility. To operate legally, Lebanon Road Surgery Center must have a transfer agreement with a full-service private hospital to handle all cases of abortion complications against the mother. In the case that an abortion facility is unable to acquire a transfer agreement, it can apply for a variance (exception). Lebanon Road Surgery Center failed to obtain either.

Late-term abortionist, Martin Haskell, who owns Lebanon Road Surgery Center, has performed abortions for more than 30 years. He is notorious for his advocacy of partial-birth abortion and is credited for popularizing the now banned and illegal procedure. With the closing of Haskell's clinic, only one abortion facility remains open inside the county with the third highest rate for abortion deaths in Ohio.

This is good news, but doesn’t explain why he and his wife were allowed to operate illegally. http://www.operationrescue.org/archives/late-term-abortionist-haskell-sues-city-for-denying-request-for-illegal-sign/

Stop paying for abortions with my tax money

Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in the United States. A third of all abortions are performed on black women. Our tax dollars are supporting this killing industry.
(COLUMBUS, OH) - Today, Ohio Right to Life and its national and state partners will testify in support of House Bill 298, legislation that will direct tax dollars away from organizations such as Planned Parenthood. HB 298, sponsored by Representatives Kristina Roegner and Cliff Rosenberger, will prioritize public funding towards local health departments and community health centers to help low-income and poor women and their children. Joining Ohio Right to Life today are representatives from the Susan B. Anthony List and Texas Right to Life to advocate for the advancement of this legislation.

"The majority of Ohioans agree that taxpayer funding of the nation's largest abortion provider is inexcusable," said Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life. "Ohioan's tax dollars should be used as a responsible safety net to help low-income and poor women."

The abortion industry and their lobbyists will recklessly claim that women will be denied health care with the enactment of this legislation. In reality, there are over 130 health districts and over 160 community health centers in Ohio that provide family planning services as well as comprehensive primary care. Groups like Planned Parenthood are only attempting to protect the taxpayer money that they have received for decades.

"Ohio women deserve access to comprehensive health care, and they aren't going to find it at abortion-centered businesses like Planned Parenthood. Abortion is not health care, and Planned Parenthood is America's largest seller of abortions," said Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, Vice President of Government Affairs for the Susan B. Anthony List. "This common sense legislation improves the quality of health care for Ohio women by prioritizing family planning funding for entities that best serve women. We look forward to working with Representative Kristina Roegner and our friends at Ohio Right to Life to get this bill on the Governor's desk and signed into law."

The abortion industry repeatedly claims that without taxpayer funding for family planning, abortions will increase. However, since 1998, government funding and contracts to Planned Parenthood have almost doubled from $165 million per year to $363.3 million. During the same time period, abortions have increased at Planned Parenthood from 165,509 per year to 332,278.

Simply put, taxpayer funding of abortion providers and their affiliates has done nothing to help women and certainly not their unborn children. Ohio Right to Life, Feb. 28, 2012 mailing
After an abortion Planned Parenthood gives the former mother a strong dose of an antibiotic and 30 days of low dose contraceptives. The antibiotic interfers with the effectiveness of the contraceptive, and so in a few months, the woman, if sexually active, will be back and another life will be snuffed out. Half of the women who get abortions are already using some method of birth control. Abortions increase a woman's risk of breast cancer, and the birth control pills are carcinogens.
