Ohio Right to Life and Title X

"On Monday, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost filed a joint motion with the U.S. Supreme Court in an effort to keep Title X funds from being used to pay for abortions. Title X funds are designed to support family planning and are currently prohibited from being used to pay for abortions. An executive memorandum by President Biden indicates however, that he will throw out the pro-life protection in Title X and allow abortion to be funded through the program.

Eighteen other states signed on to Attorney General Yost’s motion: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.

This is what those silly Evangelicals for Biden were upset about.

In what must be the worst reading of political tea leaves ever,

"More than 5,000 evangelical pro-lifers signed the Pro-Life Evangelicals for Biden statement, insisting, “Joe Biden’s policies are more consistent with the biblically shaped ethic of life than those of Donald Trump.” They focused on economic issues (the welfare state) that might lead more women to choose life over killing their preborn child." (Catholic Daily)

How could Christians even imagine that after 8 years as Obama's V.P. the only politician (at that time) who was against born alive abortion legislation to save a child's life. A job is always better than welfare, and Trump offered low income women the best possibility for a good life for their children. Some anti-Trumpers will use any excuse to hide their hate. No president reduces welfare ever. What were they thinking?

Catholic Daily continues: "If the leadership of this group feels used and betrayed, they should: they were used and betrayed. It appears that Biden wanted their endorsement to provide cover to pro-life evangelicals and Catholics who had their misgivings about Trump but were also uncomfortable with the Democrats’ full-throated endorsement of abortion. It also appears that Biden had no interest in finding common ground on abortion funding or any other issue."

Title X and the birth rate

Federal contraceptive funding was signed into law by President Nixon with Title X co-sponsored by Rep. GHW Bush (R-TX) in 1970. Must have been a success. Our birth rate is now below replacement, and although that accounts for married women, it hasn't changed much the birth rate for unmarried women and girls. It's been very useful in controlling the population of whites, thus we need to import immigrants. White median age is 41; Hispanic 27.
Planned Parenthood uses federal tax dollars to give contraceptives to children under 16 without informing their parents. More sex = more pregnancies = more abortions = more dollars for PP. Title X funding cannot be used for abortions, but Title X grant recipients and abortion providers are allowed to share office and staff. Planned Parenthood, the major recipient of Title X funding is also the largest abortion provider in the country. For FY 2017, Title X received $286.5 million, down from the program’s peak of $317.5 million (in FY 2010). Title X historically has been better funded under Republicans than Democrats. The most drastic cuts since 1982 were under Obama.
Of course, Guttmacher (PP) calls it a war to end birth control.

Does a culture of contraception increase or decrease abortion?

At first it seems counter-intuitive. Look at the money we are shelling out for Title X (a Nixon program for family planning services for the poor). Unless you really think it through. Over half the abortions are for women who used birth control. Many birth control methods, unless used exactly as directed, like the patch or the ring, or when used in conjunction with certain medications fail. But easily available and heavily used contraception increases abortions.

From the proponents of the Sexual Revolution and the Abortion Industry:
“Sexologist” Alfred Kinsey, 1955: “At the risk of being repetitious, I would remind the group that we have found the highest frequency of induced abortions in the groups which, in general, most frequently uses contraception.”

Abortionist Malcolm Potts, the former director of Planned Parenthood of England, 1976: “As people turn to contraception, there will be a rise, not a fall, in the abortion rate…”

Alan Guttmacher Institute (Planned Parenthood’s Research Arm) researcher Stan E. Weed: “[F]or every 1000 teens between 15-19 years of age enrolled in family planning clinics, we can expect between 50 to 120 more pregnancies”

Abortionist Judith Bury, 1981: “There is overwhelming evidence that, contrary to what you might expect, the provision of contraception leads to an increase in the abortion rate.”

Now, a 10-year study, the largest of its kind (based in Spain), has concluded that increased levels of contraception increases sexual intercourse at a rate that drives up abortion rates by overcompensating for the decreased conception rate per sexual encounter. Contraception. 2011 Jan;83(1):82-7. Epub 2010 Jun 17. "Trends in the use of contraceptive methods and voluntary interruption of pregnancy in the Spanish population during 1997-2007."
RESULTS: During the study period, 1997 to 2007, the overall use of contraceptive methods increased from 49.1% to 79.9%. The most commonly used method was the condom (an increase from 21% to 38.8%), followed by the pill (an increase from 14.2% to 20.3%). Female sterilization and IUDs decreased slightly and were used by less than 5% of women in 2007. The elective abortion rate increased from 5.52 to 11.49 per 1000 women.

More abortion tax dollars wanted by Planned Parenthood

Since it started offering abortions in the 1970s, Planned Parenthood has performed over a million abortions, many of them with our tax dollars. No, it doesn't get all its funding from the public trough, just about a third through Title X, and it's coming back for more. Some people actually donate money to this death machine, which I suppose is the balance of its budget. 5,000 abortions a week isn't enough--it wants $100 million more--even as its abortions are up and its other services such as important health tests for women, are down. Having a Republican President who had a Republican (wimp alert) congress was no protection for those babies. President George W. Bush and the Republican-majority Congress Increased Title X to a record $288.3 million in FY 2005. And what about PlaP's claims on its website that Title X money isn't used for abortions? Well, let me think. Dump it all into one pot, pay the other bills like mammograms and high blood pressure and salaries and rent with it, and use the other accounts for surgical abortions. It's an industry--and the product is death. All that's needed to shut it down is to check the number of teen abortions against the number of reports to child welfare agencies on underage children seeking services. That won't happen.

Now that the ban on chopping up the few babies who make it alive to the birth canal was upheld, the Democrats are really panicked. "Senator Barbara Boxer and Representative Jerrold Nadler have introduced a bill, called the Freedom of Choice Act, that would dramatically expand federal protection of abortion rights beyond what is required by Roe v. Wade or Planned Parenthood v. Casey. The bill would invalidate many federal, state and local abortion laws, including the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act." [ACLJ] However, Democrats have always played straight with us on this issue; they are pro-abortion. It is the Republicans who are too squeamish to stand up for what they said during their campaigns for office.
