Small business owners being bullied

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMn3WycWJsg

This cake artist won't produce art for witchcraft, or bachelor parties, or a same sex wedding. He'll serve gays for any other event and has gay friends. But the LGBTQ community began to bully him. Sort of like the left is bullying any celebrity who would go against their Marxists principles and perform for the inauguration of Trump whom they hate. Even a blind opera singer. That hate crime is legal. Jack Phillips doesn't hate anyone, but big government is stepping on his first amendment rights, but it won't step in and stop the leftists harassing a president. Watch the video that follows this one with Neil Cavuto. Pay attention, America.

What's a baker, florist, candlestick maker to do?

Recently, "the state" squeezed every penny, including donations, from a Christian couple and destroyed their livelihood because they wouldn't bake a cake for a lesbian couple's wedding.  They would serve them as customers every other way, just not that. Story.
They were ordered to “cease and desist from publishing, circulating, issuing or displaying, or causing to be published, circulated, issued or displayed, any communication, notice, advertisement or sign of any kind to the effect that any of the accommodations, advantages, facilities, services or privileges of a place of public accommodation will be refused, withheld from or denied to, or that any discrimination will be made against, any person on account of sexual orientation.”
“Within Oregon’s public accommodations law is the basic principle of human decency that every person, regardless of their sexual orientation, has the freedom to fully participate in society,” the ruling states. “The ability to enter public places, to shop and dine, to move about unfettered by bigotry.”

Can a Quaker pacifist bakery owner refuse to decorate a cake with guns by turning down a big job for the NRA? The military?

What about a West Virginia Democrat's celebration in memory of an Exalted Cyclops of the KKK who represented him in Congress? Is that OK to turn down? (There was such a story posted on the Internet which apparently was a hoax).

Does a female baker have to create pornographic images on cupcakes for male clients? Or yoga positions for the exercise club? Many of those pink breast cancer images were just porn, in my opinion.

These are all activities by Americans expressing their free speech; what about the religious and speech and assembly rights of the baker?

How unions kill jobs

The company had warned it would file a motion in U.S. Bankruptcy Court to shut operations if enough workers didn't end their weeklong strike by 5 p.m. ET Thursday.

Twinkies were my husband’s favorite snack before he started watching for sugar on the label.  I probably haven’t bought anything Hostess in years, but the company provided a good living for many people.

Wikipedia:  Hostess Brands, Inc. was founded as Interstate Bakeries Corporation (IBC) in 1930 and was the largest wholesale baker and distributor of bakery products in the United States.  It is the owner of the Hostess, Wonder Bread, Nature's Pride, Dolly Madison, Butternut Breads, and Drake's brands. For many years it was based at 12 East Armour Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri. In 2009, after it emerged from a 2004 bankruptcy, the name was changed to Hostess Brands, Inc., and the headquarters moved to Irving, Texas.[2] Hostess Brands, Inc., declared Chapter 11 again in 2012.[3]

In May 2009, Wonder Bread closed in Columbus, Ohio. The plant was almost 100 years old, and according to the local news was too expensive to retrofit for “natural” products demanded by the consumer.

Let’s hope Rayburn, the CEO, doesn’t ever run for president because he’ll be blamed for taking our Twinkies.

Who helped in the emergency

Columbus got hit hard by the hurricane winds of Ike. We are still watching the clean up, although the power has been restored. Here's the note I've sent Panera's attached to their survey of customer service (www.panerasurvey.com).
I just wanted to let you know what an outstanding job the 2 Paneras I visit did during the recent electric outage (Hurricane Ike) here in Columbus, OH. I go to both the one on Bethel and the one on Tremont Rd in UA.

Just this morning I heard another customer complimenting the manager(?) at Tremont on the outstanding service they provided to the community last week when that neighborhood was without power about 6 days. The lines went out to the parking lot, but the Panera's staff were helpful, patient and friendly with a clientele that was really frazzled.

Just thought you'd like to know what great people you have working there. Give them all a bonus, because they really went above and beyond what is usually asked of a restaurant!
