"Alaska officials on Friday released thousands of pages of emails sent and received by Sarah Palin during her first 21 months as governor, giving a fresh glimpse at the time when she rose to national prominence and became the GOP vice presidential nominee. Reporters and photographers crowded into a small to pick up the six boxes of emails — 24,199 pages and weighing 100 pounds — to begin poring over them. Some carried boxes down the stairs and others, wheeling them on dollies, scrambled to be the first ones to reach elevators." Link

Media feeding frenzy in Juneau, which isn't covering the story
I hope they are bored out of their minds. And how clever to release it on paper. Does the media do this to all former governors, or just women they love to hate? At least the birthers knew they were looking for something--a birth certificate. What are these guys looking for?

Does it matter?
Actually, as a librarian in Alaska I do have some qualms with our ex-quitter governor. Alaska may be geographically large but we have a very small population of about 700,000 citizens. So, indeed it is very likely we know Ms. Palin or are friends of friends of her family. She showed amazingly poor judgment as mayor of Wasilla by asking whether books she deemed offensive could be removed from the Wasilla Library. Later she recanted and said her question was only a question as to how the library dealt with such a scenario. This was a wake-up call for many Alaskans. We certainly do not need to look for the "smoking gun" the media refers to when discussing the emails. Palin has lost most of her credibility in her home state.
I lost interest in her as a viable candidate when she quit as governor. However, that doesn't explain the fierce hatred the media has for her.
And as a librarian, surely you know that real "removal" begins in the selection process, and many books never make it to the shelf because of the liberal bias of librarians, and not the complaints of patrons.
I probably disagree with every position of Sarah Palin's; however, I am perplexed at the obsession people have for her. AFAIK, she isn't running for president -- and people who are, such as "T-Paw," get less attention than Sarah. Yes, she's pretty, but so what? It is a mystery. I have zero interest in reading any of her emails, sheesh!
It's not just the media,,,,, my high school grad., conservative husband just listens to what she says and scratches his head saying, 'why would anyone think she was qualified to hold an office like VP or possibly President of these USA". All the rest of it she brings on herself!!! Why would a mother put herself and her kids in the spotlight all the time??
