Do words matter?
I so don't like to say Donald Trump is right. He was never even on my list. However, he's right when he says that terrorism doesn't get Obama fired up, it doesn't create a fire in his belly to protect us. Only denigrating Republicans and Trump gets him worked up (you could see and hear the rage yesterday). And it's not just because we're in a campaign year. I think it's been that way for 8 years long before Trump was on the scene--campaign speeches against the GOP, even when Democrats controlled all the government. Name one cause/movement they haven't won. They've completely turned our society on its head, and still he complains.
Krauthammer: "Nobody straps on a suicide bomb in the name of violent extremism." Words matter, Mr. President. Stop pretending that 7.5 years of semantics don't matter. You can't engage an enemy you can't even name.

Obama and the mid-terms, by Krauthammer
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: “ Look, this is a guy who six years ago had a worship service at a Denver stadium, being cheered by people while he was behind Greek columns, a few weeks earlier, he had been the hero of 200,000 Germans in Berlin. I still don't understand what that speech was about. Here was a man -- I mean, as Rich Lowry said earlier tonight, he was a citizen of the world, the most interesting, most sought after political rock star on the planet. And now he's got to hide under his desk until November. This is a total humiliation for him and every once in a while he can't take it so it pops out. This is his way of saying, I transcend the party, I'm bigger than the party, I still am, and I'm still here. I mean he's not going to go out and campaign in these states, obviously, but this is hard for him to take so I would extend a little bit of sympathy for the man. He's under stress.”
Hide under his desk? Hardly. He’s been attending all kinds of fund raisers. In fact, when he called 2 off because of Ebola, that was news for days. And he’s back stabbed those running from him by claiming that although he’s not on the ballot his policies are and the incumbents voted with him 99% of the time. That’s not stress, that’s rude.

The biggest lie and the biggest story of 2013
“The lie of the year, according to Politifact, is “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.” But the story of the year is a nation waking up to just how radical Obamacare is — which is why it required such outright deception to get it passed in the first place.
Obamacare was sold as simply a refinement of the current system, retaining competition among independent insurers but making things more efficient, fair and generous. Free contraceptives for Sandra Fluke. Free mammograms and checkups for you and me. Free (or subsidized) insurance for some 30 million uninsured. And, mirabile dictu, not costing the government a dime.”
“Three years ago I predicted that Obamacare would turn insurers into the lapdog equivalent of utility companies. I undershot. They are being treated as wholly owned subsidiaries. Take the phrase “strongly encouraging.” Sweet persuasion? In reality, these are offers insurers can’t refuse. Disappoint your federal master and he has the power to kick you off the federal exchanges, where the health insurance business of the future is supposed to be conducted.”

I heard it on the NPR
Charles Krauthammer: "Obama doesn’t lie. He implies, he misdirects, he misleads — so fluidly and incessantly that he risks transmuting eloquence into mere slickness.
Slickness wasn’t fatal to “Slick Willie” Clinton because he possessed a winning, near irresistible charm. Obama’s persona is more cool, distant, imperial. The charming scoundrel can get away with endless deception; the righteous redeemer cannot."
As much as I like Krauthammer, he's wrong about lies. Misleading and misdirecting is lying. I think he has to maintain a semblance of "fairness." I don't. Truth and words matter to me. Intent and character matter. Obama lies outright if you listen, he appoints crooks if you notice, he has clutches of friends and advisers who are Marxists and revolutionaries if you back track through their resumes and memberships, he flip flops on Afghanistan if you read his words; and you'd have to be deaf and dumb to believe him on anything whether it's his relationship with ACORN, Planned Parenthood, or Bill Ayers.
