Romney allegedly hazed a gay kid in 1965, hair raped him with a pair of scissors and caused his suicide 40 years later. Bain Capital, Romney's old firm, caused a woman's cancer and cut her insurance two years after he left, none of which happened but the Democrats still aimed he was responsible. He drove across the country with the family dog strapped to the roof of the family station wagon. He thought women should be kept in "binders".

Low Energy Jeb's neocon bro, Dub, was called a drunkard, a dunce, a racist, a warmonger, pretty much every name in the book. Cindy Sheehan camped outside his Texas home for 6 years.

And remember the differences in what Obama, Schumer and Pelosi said at John McCain's funeral as compared to what they said during the 2008 presidential campaign. Either McCain had a twin or those three stooges are rank hypocrites.

Romney and Lil' Jebbie are idiots to think this is just political and not personal - because it is both political AND personal. To a Democrat, there is no difference between the two.

Good old "we've lost the war" Harry, still tries to blame the Republicans for the Democrats' across-the-board failures, from slowly killing the Gulf clean-up to the ARRA funding doing diddly squat for the unemployed, to Obamacare fears that are causing doctors to flee, and cap and trade plans that are killing investment and recovery.

Where are Republicans in all this, Harry? They've been helpless as you've helped destroy a free market economy. You guys took over Congress in 2006 and have been blaming Republicans ever since. Well, it was FDR who extended the Great Depression over a decade; it was Democrat Wilson who instituted the Jim Crow laws and segregated the military; it was your beloved Byrd who got to Congress with the help of the KKK; it's Democrat mayors of the major U.S. cities that have been oppressing minorities for generations while taking block grants and urban renewal money from the federal government; it was your man Clinton who came up with "don't ask don't tell;" it's your guy Obama who thinks it's OK to dismember viable near-term babies that are inconvenient; it's Democrat controlled unions that are sending our businesses fleeing to other countries. Here is a list of the jobs Harry Reid has held, according to his congressional biography: U.S. Capitol police officer (1961-64); city attorney of Henderson, Nev. (1964-66); state assemblyman (1969-70); lieutenant governor (1970-74); Nevada Gaming Commission chairman (1977-81); U.S. representative (1983-87); U.S. senator (1987-present).

By our count, Reid's 50-year career spans some 33 years in elected office, 8 in appointed office (city attorney and the gambling commission), and 3 in a patronage position (the Capitol police). That leaves only about six years during which he might have been in the private sector, most recently in 1982, though during part of that time he must have been busy campaigning for his seats in the Assembly and the House.

Style vs. Substance

Although I think even his most ardent supporters are tiring of his whining, finger pointing, and stalling this item on style vs. substance is still important.

I can't remember a time when Democrats weren't contemptuous of Republican leaders--I certainly believed Ronald Reagan was just a dumb movie star who read lines when I was a Democrat. That's all I heard from the media and my colleagues. And how many times did you see Bush portrayed as a knuckle dragging, cowboy cartoon with huge ears? And unfortunately, like small children who are abused and grow up doubting their abilities, many RINOs behave as they are told they believe. The Harry Reid racism flap is just the latest of letting the Democrats set the agenda. Everyone in both parties knows he isn't a racist, but they also know there's a double standard for what can be said, thought or acted upon. Without a moment's reflection, our President can blast the Cambridge police as racist, but waits 3 days to say anything about terrorists. The time to wring the Reid comment out and hang it out to dry is the next time a Republican says macaca or water buffalo and the Democrats scream RACIST! Then rally the troops. Go after speech codes that do nothing but divide. Reid should go down in history for the comfort he gave our enemies during time of war not for using the word "Negro," which many people still use, or calling Obama light skinned, which he is because his mother was white teenager impregnated by an older married man and who didn't have an abortion.

That was a stupid remark he made about Obama--about him being light skinned and talking white to be acceptable to whites (or was that talking black to be acceptable to blacks--he did both, you know). He told the truth, and many people black and white have said essentially the same thing especially before he became the clear front runner. No, kick old Harry out for being stupid, for being a traitor when speaking against the war saying the war was lost and giving aid to the enemy, for the illegal cornhusker bribe--but I don't think he's a racist. Is there a double standard? Absolutely. They kicked Trent Lott's butt for a lot less, and remember the macaca guy--no one even knew what that was so how could it be racist? Harry's just a man of his era--he thinks African Americans are "Negroes" and useful for political purposes as long as they don't leave the Democratic plantation or cause too much trouble. This is just one more crisis for Rahm Emanuel to manage.

After comparing Republicans to opponents of outlawing slavery during Civil War times (remember, that was the forerunners of the current Democrats, but let's ignore history) just days ago, Haughty Heartless Harry Reid now quotes peacemaker Dr. King Rodney King (badly) and asks if we can't all get along. Reid is probably the most contentious politician hiding behind the blandest personality and most unpleasant demeanor I can remember in my life time. Story at Gateway Pundit. He was one of the worst and most vicious of the Bush bashers, declaring the war in Iraq lost and giving comfort to the enemy. Who elects people like this?

Update: There is a rally in Omaha, Nebraska Sunday Dec. 20 demanding Senator Nelson switch his vote back to NO. The rally will be held at the Omaha Music Hall, 17th and Capitol. Doors open at 2 PM. Rally starts at 3 PM. Other participants besides Mike Huckabee will include Congressman Terry, Auditor Foley, Senators McCoy, Fulton, Krist, Price and Lautenbaugh.

What's behind the closed doors?

While I head for the coffee shop, Murray will give you his ideas on what Harry Reid was trying to do this week with the healthcare bill.

This week Senator Harry Reid (D-Nev) tried taking 250 billion of expenses out of the healthcare Bill in an attempt to lower the overall cost. $250 Billion! How ? By simply eliminating it from the healthcare Bill and paying the 250 billion out to doctors over a 10 year period of time. This would be unfunded and simply be added to the national debt!

It appears there were two problems he was trying to solve. Lower the cost of the health plan to make it look better and still appease the doctors who aren't supporting the plan. You see, even though the AMA claims to be for the plan, the majority of the doctors in this country are not. That's why Obama held that little fiasco handing out white coats to a select few who were supposed to be doctors in an attempt to fake us out one more time. Obama is good at that.

Fortunately 12 Democrats plus the Republicans defeated the move which proved to be a miscalculation by Reid. I'm sure there will be other attempts to make this "dog" bill look better before it's over. This attempt to extract 250 billion of costs out of the healthcare bill has NOT CAUSED A RIPPLE in the mainstream media. With all the attention and focus on this bill, wouldn't you think NBC, CBS, ABC and the major newspapers would jump all over this? No, no, no! They'd rather give us another report on the Swine Flu.

Well the only people that have so far [Thursday] is Fox News. You know Fox. That's the News station that the Obama administration keeps trying to shut down. They have all the others cooperating but so far they haven't been able to quiet Fox but that doesn't mean they haven't been trying! They put political pressure on Fox's advertisers and claim that Fox IS NOT a news station.

There probably is another reason for sneaking out some of the costs of the healthcare bill. These are my own thoughts. You see, Tuesday the Democrats were behind closed doors ( no Republicans allowed in spite of the fact that Obama calls this a bi-partisan effort) to merge two of these bills into one. Now in order to do this there had to be some arm twisting to get everyone in the room to agree. So how do they do this? PORK! Yes folks, it's PORK time again. Since the CBO has already come up with a number, they can't come out of that room with a bigger one. So I think ol' Harry figured if he gets the 250 billion out of the Bill then there's room for $250 billion of negotiable PORK. Pork is always a tool that is used to pass a dog bill. Regardless, whether that was the plan or not, you can count on the fact that if there isn't any PORK in the current Bills , there certainly will be!

So will they stand up and apologize on the floor? No, of course not, because the biggest hypocrites in the world are the Democrats in Congress. They want Joe Wilson to apologize again for saying, "You lie." Obama was lying practically every other sentence. Who's going to make him apologize to the people? And hasn't the President used this as a wonderful teachable moment--blaming all the vitriol on the other side and not himself?

I've been pulling weeds today on my walk. There are many, but I've selected just one--don't know its name. Small single root, with tiny leaves, and it branches out and spreads like crazy, killing everything around it; and loves the heat of the curbs. If you can find the root and give it a yank, the whole thing--about 2' in circumference--comes up. I've christened it "Obamacare."

Harry Reid's tirade against Rush Limbaugh on the floor of the Senate was addressed by Margaret Chase Smith almost 60 years ago.

It is ironical that we Senators can in debate in the Senate directly or indirectly, by any form of words, impute to any American who is not a Senator any conduct or motive unworthy or unbecoming an American—and without that non-Senator American having any legal redress against us—yet if we say the same thing in the Senate about our colleagues we can be stopped on the grounds of being out of order.

It is strange that we can verbally attack anyone else without restraint and with full protection and yet we hold ourselves above the same type of criticism here on the Senate Floor. Surely the United States Senate is big enough to take self-criticism and self-appraisal. Surely we should be able to take the same kind of character attacks that we “dish out” to outsiders.

Who funds Media Matters?

Wealthy Democrats, most with ties to the Clintons, either from former cabinet posts, or heavy campaign supporters. George Soros, an immigrant who has done extremely well with our economic system and wants more government in our lives just like the old country, is another brick in this wall against free speech. Media Matters was founded by David Brock, yes, the former conservative who came to fame writing about Anita Hill, then had an epiphany and rushed down the sawdust trail to switch parties. Media Matters goes after conservative talk radio--that's its whole reason for being. The name, "Media Matters," is brilliant. I'll give them that. It does matter--and most of the media are liberal, but like the babies who escape the abortionist mills and minorities who leave the plantation, some reporters, journalists, media executives, movie stars, sports figures and celebrities make it out alive to speak to the masses--those of us outside the beltway living in fly over country.

Harry Reid (D) is an important talkinghead/spokesperson/mouth for Media Matters. He almost would have nothing to say if they weren't coaching him from behind the curtain.
