How riots fit in with BLM sympathy and support

A police officer is 18 1/2 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer.” Heather MacDonald, via Larry Elder.

With the media's assistance, the black men who have been shot by police--those in the news in 2020--have all had criminal records, have been resisting arrest, and had very serious records, including rape with robbery (several charges by the same woman) in the case of Jacob Blake, Jr. of Kenosha. Not a peep from the MeToo crowd who usually would ruin a man’s career based on a smack on the rear because the founders of Black Lives Matter are radical feminists.

The 3 men who were attacking Kyle Rittenhouse during a "peaceful protest" and were shot by him, a 17 year old, also had criminal records including sexual offense against a child, strangulation and weapons charges. These were not 3 good guys just helping out the community. If Rittenhouse had been black, I doubt we would know his name, but 2 of the 3 would still be dead. Media would get nothing out of that story and it certainly wouldn't fit the BLM narrative.

Police nationwide have close to a million contacts a year with the public who might be misbehaving in some way, whether speeding, disorderly and drunk, domestic abuse, or theft. In 66 years of driving, I've been stopped 2 times for speeding (45 in 35 mph zone) and once for wrong way to get away from a traffic accident. I have been at fault each time and didn't assume it was something about my physical appearance that created the problem. I wasn't drunk or high and didn't have a record, I was just wrong. so I just paid my fine. In keeping us safe, there are some confrontations with police that go badly--but more with whites than blacks and whites are shot at a higher rate. When a white man with a criminal record is shot resisting arrest or trying to kill police, it does not cause riots and looting. It serves no cause to do so.

Why do the media promote black criminals as victims and heroes? Why does the left push this narrative of the innocent (usually a man) black oppressed by the evil "man." Because the public is gullible--and for 3 or 4 decades the schools, churches, and entertainment industry have been pushing the lie. They are believing what they've been taught.

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018/tables/table-43 This is the latest full year report on crimes by race; obviously based on numbers, whites commit more crimes and have more encounters with police. Based on population percentage and rates, blacks more likely to be victims and assailants. The 2019 half year report showed violent crime was decreasing, as it was in 2018. Well, that record won't stand because certain groups don't want less crime, safer neighborhoods, lower unemployment and more opportunity for minorities.

The assumption of rising violence against Blacks

Every article I read about BLM--left, right, middle, Christian, secular, black or white--begins with the obligatory statement about violence against Black Americans by whites. Nonsense.

Violence was at an all time high in the early 90s--over 25 years ago--and is half what it was then. And violence has decreased far more in the black community than white. The only systemic violence against Blacks is from the left, in the killing chambers of abortion clinics. Otherwise, Blacks outside the womb are far safer now than 25 years ago.

Then the next error in these articles, posts or memes, and this one usually from the Christians who vote for Democrats, or Christians who don't vote at all or Democrats who don't like Christians is that more government money or programs, in other words, doing more of what we've been doing for 60 years, will somehow work the next time. (Kind of like the socialism thing--we'll get it right the next time.) For some reason, usually lack of information from MSM (CNN, MSNBC, Washington Post, NYT) which they slavishly watch or read, they don't know these programs have been bipartisan, supported by both parties, in fact, some of the most successful like EITC have been from Republicans. By ignoring our bipartisan failures, they get to demonize Republicans and demand everyone vote for Democrats--again.

A third error is white people who rend their garments about systemic racism can't even tell you what they personally are doing wrong even though they say they are part of the system. Or if they can think of something, they won't remedy it without demanding other people change.

The vast majority of violence visited on the black community is committed by black people. Not police. Not the schools. Not the government. And it’s the same for whites, Asians, lesbians, etc. although higher for blacks.  This not "whataboutism." Listen to the Chicago statistics for this past week-end. Where are the marches, riots and looting for these invisible victims?

Too many believe the lies

What's the point? The lies have been told so many times, who will believe the truth? No one ever said "Hands up, don't shoot," but it is the truth if you say, "All lives matter" you can get fired because that means you don't believe the systemic racism myth. And "Snitches get stitches" was also a slogan from Ferguson that showed up in the DoJ report.

Larry Elder says, "In order for the Democratic Party to maintain the 95 percent monolithic hold they have with black voters, they need to create scenarios of anger and fear against so-called “structural” or “institutional” or “systemic” racism. We know their motive."

"A recent Harvard study concluded that 1,332 police shootings over the 2000-2015 time frame reveal that blacks are actually 20 percent less likely to be shot at by police than whites despite the fact that blacks and whites are just as likely to be carrying a weapon." Also, a different study reveals, “Whites are 1.7 times more likely than blacks [to] die at the hands of police. Adjusted for the racial disparity at which police are feloniously killed, whites are 1.3 times more likely than blacks to die at the hands of police.”

Remember each victim group watches what happens with blacks, then they co-op their movement. So we will see first women marching and demanding more laws, then gays (and I've already seen a lot of rainbow flags in the marches), then transgendered—their group grows daily as teen-agers discover they have been misgendered. It's going to be a long rest of the story

Yale, May 1970; the Floyd protests in context

Putting the Floyd protests in context--May Day, 1970 at Yale by Al Kresta. https://avemariaradio.net/audio-archive/kresta-in-the-afternoon-june-3-2020-hour-1/

Al Kresta was 18 during the turbulent years of campus protests, including the Kent State disaster. He says what is happening today happened then, but our media haven't learned or even researched. He also explains the 2019 study (using the Washington Post data base) on police vs. unarmed citizens, white and black. There is NO gross epidemic of police violence against blacks. Black citizens are more likely to be killed by black officers, not white. And what correlates is the race of the criminals. It's the best predictor of fatal shootings. In 2019 there were 9 fatal shootings of blacks and 19 of whites out of millions of encounters with the police. This flies in the face of every TV report, newspaper opinion or Facebook meme you see. Fatalities of whites rarely get any media attention. Our main stream media do not do their research. [njb: Our local news last night did a great disservice featuring a white mother of 2 young black sons and the inaccurate information and myths surrounding the police and blacks.]

Kresta was there in 1970, and he says it's the same today. There are three groups: the largest group are the peaceful protestors, next are the revolutionaries with an ideology--then as now, usually Communist, socialist, globalist, anti-government (Bobby Seal, etc.), and third is the criminal element, looters, rioters, long time criminals just stealing and creating mayhem.

It's very useful to put today's problems in the context of these 3 groups including Nixon (who was no more popular than Trump), Revolutionary white groups, Black Panthers (would work with any left wing group), the Yale students with their ideals and white privilege and their liberal president; 4,000 national guard troops. There was no serious violence and rioting in New Haven . Unfortunately, Kent State was to come.

This discussion continues on June 4.

New study on police, race and shootings

https://www.pnas.org/content/116/32/15877?

“There is widespread concern about racial disparities in fatal officer-involved shootings and that these disparities reflect discrimination by White officers. Existing databases of fatal shootings lack information about officers, and past analytic approaches have made it difficult to assess the contributions of factors like crime. We create a comprehensive database of officers involved in fatal shootings during 2015 and predict victim race from civilian, officer, and county characteristics. We find no evidence of anti-Black or anti-Hispanic disparities across shootings, and White officers are not more likely to shoot minority civilians than non-White officers. Instead, race-specific crime strongly predicts civilian race. This suggests that increasing diversity among officers by itself is unlikely to reduce racial disparity in police shootings.”
