CPAC now meets all over the world.

https://youtu.be/8Oim0ZzKhnI Nigel Farage speaks at CPAC about how because of Covid we English speaking countries gave unlimited power to governments, giving up freedoms it took centuries to develop. Don't let it happen again, he says.

CPAC, masks and Twitter

I caught an interview on Newsmax of something that happened at CPAC in FL. A young man with a twitter following (I’d never heard of him) had press credentials, and was wearing a mask, but when people asked to have a photo with him, he pulled it down. The Security asked him to leave. (Not sure how you eat, drink or take photos with masks--the entire Biden clan took off their masks for photos at the inauguration.) He thinks it was because of his t-shirt which said, “Arrest Cuomo.” Then he uploaded this incident to Twitter, and they have banned him. He says the CPAC event was in a blue county and individual stores and facilities have the right to control mask wearing, not the governor. Once Twitter found out it could ban the President of the free world and no one would stop it, it went crazy banning anyone it pleased. This makes Big Tech more powerful than Big Government, with its CEOs billionaires the richest people in the world. And not a one of us voted for or asked for that. But we did give away free all our data and they have imprisoned us with it.

The fake news virus

The coronavirus isn’t fake, and the hysteria about it isn’t fake, but the news media making it all about Trump, is definitely in the fake category.

“Trump was in a relaxed and cheerful mood [at CPAC] when he took the stage of the Potomac Ballroom at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor. Just before helicoptering over to CPAC on Marine One, the president had joined Vice President Mike Pence, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Director Dr. Anthony Fauci at a White House press conference on the coronavirus. As with everything else in the Trump Age, this turned into a confrontation with the “fake news” media. An NBC reporter asked about a New York Times article that claimed Dr. Fauci had been “muzzled” by the administration. Trump responded that the question was “dishonest,” then yielded the microphone to Dr. Fauci. “I have never been muzzled, and I’ve been doing this since the administration of Ronald Reagan,” Dr. Fauci said, explaining that what happened involved scheduled TV appearances and the appointment of Pence to head the administration’s response to the disease that spread from China. “I have not been muzzled at all. That was a real misrepresentation of what happened.”

I’m surprised anyone believes anything published in New York Times, or Washington Post.

Moving stuff again

My neighbor Jan who loves to decorate and browse consignment stores looked around the living room last week and suggested we move a few items before we go shopping.  It will all look fresh and different she assured me. So . . . in the process, it was hours of moving and dusting.

So to entertain myself while doing more heavy lifting than was healthy, I was watching CPAC meeting this week in Maryland. I was working back and forth with Fox News in the living room live and Mike Gallagher in the kitchen doing interviews while I unloaded bookshelves and china cabinets for a shuffling of furniture. Beautiful young people. And so articulate. So different than the angry snowflakes who know nothing, need to be bleeped and look like they dress from the missionary box while racking up a $100,000 college education on parental tab. Some interviews and speeches I have watched on YouTube then caught the sliced, diced and edited version on broadcast media. Steve Bannon is definitely the new go to hate guy--the Chaney/Rove of the Bush years or the Emanuel/Jarrett of Obama's staff.

President Trump has pretty much had the same message for five years and it terrifies both old timey Republicans and Democrats--national security--borders and military, jobs, rebuild the middle class, reduce regulation that strangles the little guy and get government out of the way. Unlike so many rich businessmen, he doesn't seem to be threatened by spreading the wealth through capitalism. Usually these corporate giants like Bezos, Gates and Zuckerberg support more regulation from climate change to bathrooms which Democrats propose because it snips their competition's spine in the womb who can't afford it. Sort of the Kermit Gosnell of industry.

CPAC 2014

Rand Paul—sounds a little hoarse, but content is good.

“It isn’t good enough to pick the lesser of 2 evils.”

In his CPAC address, Ted Cruz outlined what Republicans should do to win back the Senate and win the hearts and minds of Americans young and old.

“Let’s look back at the past four elections, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012,” Cruz said. “The only election we won was 2010, when we stood unequivocally for principle….Who are the two people who have energized young people? Ronald Reagan and Ron Paul. What did they do? They painted a bold picture of what America can do…. You win elections by standing for principles and believing that there is a better tomorrow.

“How do we inspire people? Number one we tell the truth…. The truth is Washington is corrupt. You are in some of the richest counties in the country. As more and more people make great wealth in Washington, young people, single moms, and small business owners suffer…. Real change is changing the corruption that is here in Washington, D.C.”

It's morning in America

Thank you, Glenn Beck, for that inspiring keynote speech at CPAC. Loved the chalk board.

Update: I won't embed them, but Maggie's Notebook has the full 60+ minutes, plus two smaller 6-8 minutes videos. Particularly watch where he really lays it out for the Republican Party, comparing what they need to do with what Tiger needs to do.
