James Comey and Our Poisoned Politics

Five years ago, the FBI boss was busy selling the bogus Steele dossier.

This week marks the fifth anniversary of perhaps the greatest media scandal of our age. Outlets like CNN and BuzzFeed flogged a bogus dossier of salacious claims funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign, even while admitting they didn’t know whether the dossier’s allegations against Donald Trump were true or false. It wasn’t necessarily that reporters had mistaken fake news for the real stuff—they simply didn’t care or acknowledge that they had an obligation to vet anti-Trump claims before disseminating them. The pathetic media excuse for running with the story was that important people in the government were talking about it. And no one wanted to talk about it more than the FBI’s then-director, James Comey. He kept talking about it even after his department had failed to corroborate it, and even though the CIA viewed it as mere “Internet rumor.” On this day five years ago, Mr. Comey emailed Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. As the dossier story was raging in the press, Mr. Comey mounted an unsuccessful effort to stop Mr. Clapper from publicly acknowledging that U.S. intelligence agencies had not deemed the dossier reliable and were not relying upon its claims, which had been compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele. According to the Obama-appointed Justice Department inspector general who reported on the government abuses in this case in 2019, Mr. Comey’s Jan. 11, 2017 email to Mr. Clapper included the following: I just had a chance to review the proposed talking points on this for today. Perhaps it is a nit, but I worry that it may not be best to say “The IC has not made any judgment that the information in the document is reliable.” I say that because we HAVE concluded that the source [Steele] is reliable and has a track record with us of reporting reliable information; we have some visibility into his source network, some of which we have determined to be sub-sources in a position to report on such things; and much of what he reports in the current document is consistent with and corroborative of other reporting... In the long history of Beltway bureaucratic maneuvering, has a government memo ever included so much inaccuracy in so few words? Mr. Steele had already been fired by the FBI as a confidential source, and his story was falling apart. No surprise to me--it was McCain who leaked

I've seen several news sources--all conservative--carry the story about McCain's leak.

No  big surprise, the Democrat media, the so called mainstream media are ignoring the story.  The Democrats hated McCain until he turned against the President in the battle over Obamacare, and then suddenly he became a war hero, again. When he was campaigning against Obama in 2008, they even had a whisper campaign against his adopted daughter as a "love child."  So of course, the President is on a twitter rage.

The former FBI director should re-read Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report because it lays out a record of willful incuriosity about Christopher Steele and his dossier that is hard to credit as mere incompetence." In my profession (librarian), curiosity is what drove us there, paid the bills and took us home; can't imagine an FBI director with zip, nada, zilch curiosity, but there we have it. A librarian without curiosity and some problem solving skills wouldn't have made it through the first year of graduate school.

Different standards for Clinton who had a bevy of lawyers, and Flynn who was told he didn’t need to have a lawyer present.

No one believes Cohen—especially not Democrats—the day before.

So far, the Mueller investigation has been bank fraud, and lies, and collusion is not a crime, but none has been found.

The head of the FBI can’t remember anything, and still doesn’t know anything, showed no curiosity, can’t corroborate anything. And this guy was head of the FBI?  In his mind, he’s always right. The book was a joke—a very high opinion of himself. An amnesiac with incredible hubris.

Comey, FISA, Spying on Trump

Even the most loyal Clintonista and Democrat know these facts, even if they claim the memo helps Putin.

1. The FISA warrant was obtained using the dossier.
2. The dossier was "opposition research" paid for by the Clinton campaign.
3. The warrant was used to spy on Trump, a private citizen.

You can fret over the role of Comey, McCabe, Rosenstein, Ohr and his wife, or Stzrok and his lover, the various media who received leaks and reported them as fact, or President Obama all you want, and deny, deny, deny, but the facts which have been known for months will smack you in the face.

Clinton/Comey worse than Watergate

Former Assistant FBI Director James Kallstrom unloaded on James Comey, Robert Mueller, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama Thursday, charging that major crimes "20 times bigger than Watergate" are being swept under the rug while Attorney General Jeff Sessions "is in a coma."

 

Appearing on Fox News' Varney & Co., Kallstrom told the host that it "was obvious to anybody that knows anything" that former President Barack Obama was not going to let James Comey indict Clinton.

 

"It turns out -- unfortunately -- he was a political hack," Kallstrom said flatly. "I think he maybe started out in an honorable way. His opinion of himself is sky high --  just an unbelievable guy with just an arrogance about him…. It got him in trouble because I think he thought he was Superman and he found out that he wasn’t."

 

Kallstrom blamed the Clintons for Comey's descent into hackery.

What could possibly go wrong? Mueller is best friends with Comey; has hired all Hillary supporting lawyers for the investigation; impaneled a Grand Jury from Trump hating D.C. They, not the Russians, are interferring with the election of Donald Trump.

Democrats wounded to the core with their poor decisions think Clinton couldn’t lose a national election which includes non-urban voters without help from Russia. Let’s review her campaign promises. She lauded open borders, refugee resettlement without vetting, and born-alive abortions. She proposed a 65% tax rate on estates that would impact small businesses and farms. She would have retained Obama’s heavy handed LGBTQ agenda, thus destroying Title VII and Title IX both of which benefit women. Trump campaigned on more security at the border, stronger economy with better jobs, patriotism (some nay sayers call that nationalism), he bragged on Americans--she called them deplorables--inviting more Americans to come back with a promise of fewer regulations, and a strong conservative for the Supreme Court.  No contest.   Spasiba. This should be the investigation--The DNC and Awan. I had some time in the car yesterday when I went shopping in Sandusky and listened to Glenn Beck outline the last few years of the nefarious activities of Debbie Wasserman Schultz's (head of DNC in 2016) IT staffer.

 Also Awan was fired by DWS at the last minute before going down--she stuck with him through 6 months of investigation, during which he still had access. She's either the world's most trusting employer, or she's sleeping with her staff.  But the media is fixated on a non-existent Russia story. This is not about bank fraud, although there is that, but about a REAL threat to our security. He worked for Democrats for 13 years, and knew their secrets.  I watched ABC morning news today--not a peep about the real story, but plenty on Trump.

On this day in 1964, the bodies of 3 civil rights workers, Chaney, Schwerner, and Goodman, killed by the KKK in Mississippi were found. The KKK was the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party formed during the Reconstruction in the aftermath of the Civil War and revitalized during the Depression. But the Democrats continued to elect KKK members or former members like Robert Byrd, Hugo Black, etc. even well past the 1960s. None of the killers served more than 6 years.

The Republicans had been working for years on Civil Rights legislation, making slow progress. The deaths of these martyrs in June 1964 pushed President Johnson's legislation for the 1964 Civil Rights Act over the line, even without the support of many Democrats.

Over 20 million people watched the Comey testimony last week (not me, I was in Scotland where no one cared). Now 20,000,000 know Trump was NOT being investigated, that he NEVER asked to stop the investigation, that Comey illegally leaked to the New York Times, that Trump did NOTHING illegal by firing Comey and his testimony CONTRADICTED what he'd said a month ago. The games we play--the crimes of Comey

Based only on what has happened in the executive branch (even as reported in the fake news of WaPo and NYT) there is no evidence that President Trump has committed a crime while in office worthy of a criminal investigation; he can fire the FBI director for no other reason than personal dislike for his height. But by Comey’s own testimony last week, he did commit a crime, a very serious one—taking government information and giving it to the New York Times, to say nothing about violating the trust of his boss—President Trump. Why is Mueller, a friend of Comey, still on this case? Is this a banana republic with a tin foil constitution? Has the Communist revolution with its show trials begun? Are we all, even leftists, Democrats and Progressives, pretending any of this is based in law or contains even a shred of common sense? Am I asking too many questions?

Gob smacked is what Judicial Watch described their reaction. We weren't in the country during the testimony--blissfully unaware traveling in Scotland. We learned yesterday that Obama's FBI was investigating Trump as early as July 2016, and maybe before. Are we to assume nothing electronic was used? We know phone conversations were leaked to the press almost before the words were spoken. Comey sticks with the old fashioned word, "wire tapped," as did NYT when it reported on it in January, but we know today's methods go far beyond that. It's called surveillance.  We also learned again yesterday that nothing was found. Now what will Democrats pull for their next impeachment move? None of that could have been done without Obama's approval. This Wired account continues to refer to DNC John Podesta's email as "hacked." As a so-called premier geek source, they should know that phishing isn't hacking.  Anyone could have done this since his password was "password." And all we learned from that was that the DNC was for Hillary and against Bernie--but Donna Brazile has admitted that, too.  Is she a tool of the Russians? The word interfered is continuously used by Democrats, but no one can find anything they have done, no one who changed her vote, and all it has done is make people less secure--which I suppose would be a plus for the Russians even if it is a result of the Democrats' refusal to accept the election results.

New FBI Comey announcement

Democrats are so unhappy that Trump may have used his foundation donations (I think he's the only one who donates) for a portrait. Now Wikileaks shows some of Chelsea's wedding costs may have been covered by the Clinton Foundation, and Chelsea may have her own tax problems. Trump's foundation is about 1/150th the size of Clintons' and he donates about 60%; she donates about 6%.

James Comey announced today that Mrs. Clinton is just reckless, negligent and careless as in July and he can't find additional criminal charges in the e-mails residing on the laptop of a pedophile married to her long time staffer. Isn't that a crime?

Actually, I think if Trump wins, the office of president will be greatly weakened, because neither party supports him. It will finally turn the presidency back to the level of power (not a king) intended by the Founders and return strength to the Congress which long ago abdicated power to the executive and judicial branches.  I think that's a good thing, don't you?

“The Case of the Missing Ribosome and Other Tales of Protein Translation,”  by Dr. Jonathan Yewdell is a talk being given at Ohio State next Monday, the day before the rest of us go to the polls.  Change a few words and it could sound mysteriously political-- “The Case of the Missing e-mails and Other Tales of Political Translation.”  A wildly strange last minute October surprise.  What will Democrats now try to throw out about Trump to see if it sticks?  More sex charges?  More tax charges? Can it be more salacious than missing e-mails stored on the computer of a pervert? Huma Abedin is lawyering up.  Will she be offered a deal while still under the Stronger Together bus?   We’ve got an  Attorney General (Loretta Lynch) our top cop who has to investigate all the little guys whose reputation is completely compromised by a meeting on the tarmac with the candidate’s husband and taking the 5th on the $1.7 billion ransom payment to Iran. Is the FBI director, James Comey, who reports to Lynch going rogue with the truth? And a high up FBI associate (McCabe) in the mix whose wife accepted $650,000 from the DNC to run her campaign for Senate? All this on the tail of the news about the increase of deductibles and premiums of health insurance, and the Wikileaks Podesta e-mails about Bill Clinton Inc. showing his clearly illegal and crass behavior in the Clinton Foundation.

The problem with the missing Clinton e-mails is that as more has come out about her accepting money for her Foundation for favors, or implied access (from the Wikileaks e-mails), this may be the primary reason for the personal server, even if it wasn't the motivation for the investigation of the server. She couldn't run her sideline business on a government server! And it may be the reason Huma was sending e-mails to her home laptop for "printing." If she tried to print it on a government printer, someone might see it (wireless stores the information).  And that laptop may be where those missing e-mails are stored. And that will take a lot of time to sort through and not anger or blow the cover of politicians of countries that are our allies who were buying favors from the Secretary of State. No proof, of course.

 Why would Mrs. Clinton with her vast experience as a lawyer and Secretary of State even suggest FBI Comey should release more information on the e-mails before they are carefully examined?  "Get it all out there so the voters can judge for themselves" is not something you do with evidence in an FBI or pedophile case.

 I heard a report that if you voted early, in some states that can be reversed. I've got some friends and relatives you might want to check on that.
 
Poll numbers are showing a tightening. Washington Post must be having a meltdown—it has tried so hard to deep six Trump. But it’s too soon to be about the Comey FBI investigation of the Weiner/Abedin laptop. I think it’s because of the Obamacare increases, which have been significant in some states. The President lied—said it was about 25%, but it’s much higher. Actually, he lied from the beginning about this “health care.” Even the news about “Bill Clinton, Inc.” probably hasn’t affected the polls. Each new scandal keeps bumping the other off the page, and Americans are getting Clinton scandal fatigue.
