Let’s hear it for Kellyanne

In this 100th anniversary of the vote for women, and women are being honored for all sorts of achievements and not being blamed for some atrocities, I don't hear feminists giving much credit or kudos to Kellyanne Conway, the woman I think put Trump in the White House. She was masterful (if we are still allowed to use this sexist term) in moving him to just the right pockets of supporters and weak spots the Democrats had missed. He was down in the polls before she was appointed his campaign manager and he won the election.

Her marriage, to a former Republican and conservative who hates Trump, is about to be wrecked, not by her loyalty and friendship with the President (since 2006), but by their 15 year old daughter who is being shamelessly used by the vultures on the left who will chew her up and spit her out because Trump is their target.

Dave doesn’t vote

He’s concerned after watching MSNBC or some other anti-Trump source, that a woman of Ukrainian heritage lost her job in the administration and that Rudy was investigating corruption. But he doesn’t vote!  My response:

But you're OK with destroying the job of the Ukrainian prosecutor which Joe Biden bragged about (as a representative of Obama)? Biden demanded he be fired, or Ukraine would get no money to fight the Russians. He knew what would happen if the news got out about who was really manipulating the U.S. election.

You have a strange set of standards--don't vote, but support crooks widening the muck in the swamp. Voting is always a challenge--often the lesser of 2 evils. So is donating money to campaigns and candidates, but it's better than a monarchy or communism where there's no voting at all, or just straw man candidates. We see now Mitt Romney's true colors, but he still would have been better than a second term for Obama.

Thousands of years of human history under every imaginable form of government from human sacrifice to peasants rounded up from the fields to march to foreign wars, and the little guy finally has a say based on one of the finest constitution ever produced, and you thumb your nose at all the blood and treasure over centuries it took to get here because it isn't perfect. I'm shocked.

How Google manipulates voters--Dr. Robert Epstein

A Senate Judiciary subcommittee held a hearing on Google and its censorship policy. Google’s public policy and government affairs vice president testified during the first part of the hearing. Witnesses in the second panel included Andy Parker, father of Alison Parker, who was killed during a live TV broadcast, and Dennis Prager a conservative commentator, who claimed that Google and YouTube sought to restrict or remove his video content.

In 2020 all Big Tech are going all out to Democrats and there will be no way to trace it.  Dr. Robert Epstein was a strong Clinton supporter in 2016, but is concerned that Google, Facebook and Twitter are manipulating the voter on a massive scale. Silicon Valley millionaires control our elections. Alphabet (parent of Google) was Clinton's #1 financial supporter.

Venting on stupidity in Washington

Why do billionaires like Soros, Steyer, Bezos, Zuckerburg, Brin, et. al. support the Democrats? It's good for business, and they are first and foremost capitalists and globalists. The more heavy handed government control, the less competition they'll have because smaller companies won't be able survive.

Since November 2016 the Democrats have done nothing but try to impeach the President and have accomplished nothing for the country. The Mueller report is out and they are still at it. The Democrats are rushing to impeach because the investigation of the Obama regime's spying is coming down the pike. (Caller to Mike Gallagher show--paraphrased). Good point. And that may have been the motive behind the entire phony investigation.

Susan couldn’t stand Trump. . . Obama disappointed, and she didn’t like Bush’s policies

Growing up I always heard how the Democratic party was for the working class people for the people who didn't have much, and the Republican party was for the upper-class rich folks. But I watched the news and I watched how my party was being overtaken by these hateful spiteful people who where trying to take the rights of free speech away who where beating people for speaking against them, who set fires and riots on campuses, because they didn't like the speakers, and how horrible my divided my country became and why, and just like that the veil was lifted from my eyes.  I saw things for what they really where and who truly was doing these things, and the evil Trump wasn't as evil as the news and people said he was. He actually was fighting for the same things I wanted to change! Talk about a slap in the face, It was like everything I knew all my life was a lie everything I was taught wasn't true.  I felt like I had just run into a wall because where do I belong now?  Who speaks for me and my family?

My boyfriend showed me a video of these college kids having an Anti-Trump Rally, and it was so full of hate and how they treated others who disagreed with them, and I said enough is enough and that's the day I walked away from the Democratic Party and changed my vote to Republican.  I still find myself sometimes feeling lost because I disagree with something the Republicans stand for that I don't. Then all I have to do is turn on the T.V. and be reminded that even though I might disagree with some things, I sure as heck don't agree with the Democrats.

I have lost family, I have lost friends because I support Trump, I have been called every name in the book and been told how much of a disgrace I am because I support him. Which just all goes back to why I walked away. Democrats aren't about helping one another and lifting others up when you have a difference of opinion, they are about conforming to their mindset and if you don't, then you're an evil hateful racist. As for me and my family, we will fly our American Flag every day, we will show Pride in our country and support our men and woman in uniform, and in 2020 we WILL be a household that Votes for TRUMP! “

During the campaign, politics became a passion of mine. I had CNN on all the time, and I loved the debates, loved diving into Twitter and FB conversations, and like so many others I was really excited about having a woman as president. As the elections got closer, I was confident she would win, like so many others. I spent a few evenings before the election with a like-minded friend, making campaign calls in districts that were still considered toss-ups.

My story isn’t unique in the disbelief and honestly, horror, I felt as the day went on (It was morning here in Israel) and the results started taking shape in a way so many of us had had no reason to expect. I got my kids off to school, stayed in PJs and cried, worried for the minorities who were so disparaged by Trump. I woke up my husband to tell him that Trump won and he laughed like I just told the funniest joke in the world. He gave me my space to be sad, and then together with a good friend of ours, knocked some sense into me over the course of an 8 hour conversation that lasted well into the night.

That was the beginning for me. It took awhile, but slowly I was able to gain some clarity and the clouds cleared. I now hate CNN with a passion. I had been as outraged as everyone else when Trump brought out the phrase “fake news”. I can definitely say without a doubt they are not only fake news, but the levels of dishonesty they resort to for their views is a disgrace to journalism. Fake news doesn’t mean they report something that didn’t happen - it means they’re reporting things that are not news, i.e,- fake news. Or they report things with such a slanted bias, that anyone with any self respect should see right through it and question their motives. The anger I feel towards the mainstream media, and CNN in particular, comes from the shame at having allowed them to dupe me, brainwash me, into hatred. Hatred towards Trump, hatred towards anyone who was associated with him, and anyone who supported him. They made me into an angry, perpetually outraged person and my natural personality is the exact opposite of that- I’m passionate, but also very easy going, I love people and I love having a good time.

As I was navigating my newfound confusion about everything I had thought was a given, I started to look for alternate sources of information, and kind of tried to “reset” my preconceived notions. My hatred for everything Trump was deeply ingrained and I was very very skeptical of anything not anti-Trump for awhile. I still felt a sense of disgust at his inauguration. It was painful to watch Obama hand over the presidency and I felt sorry for Hillary. But that was also when the absolute madness started getting out of control. The marches. The pink hats. Then came the so called “Muslim Ban”, and this is where the media started to lose me. It wasn’t a Muslim ban, it was common sense. I tried to keep some of my “liberal” outrage and jump on the whole “Trump is anti-Muslim” bandwagon, but I couldn’t, because it was so obvious that it wasn’t true. Unvetted immigrants from extremely dangerous and toxic parts of the Middle East are obviously a terrible idea, and it made perfect sense to me to put an end to it until they can figure out a vetting process. Of course, the mainstream media gave absolutely no perspective to the issue. The most they did was have their token pro-Trump commentators on a panel with 5 or 6 anti-trumpers and shout him down. That’s journalism today? That’s debate? They started to look crazy to me, and it only got worse from there. That’s around the time that I began looking for alternative media sources.

The first one I found was a guy named Dave Rubin, who had previously been on The Young Turks, and had left to open his own show. He’s a gay Jewish guy who always considered himself a liberal, or a classical liberal, but leftism and the Democratic party has gone so far to the left, that he no longer aligned with leftist values. His show, called The Rubin Report, hosted all sorts of people for long form interviews. It introduced me to dozens of thinkers and interesting people, but more importantly, it introduced me to ideas and conversation. Real ideas, real debate, real dialogue with people who had no interest in disparaging the person with the opposing view, but rather to engage in thoughtful, nuanced discussion about various topics. It was a breath of fresh air, and I started following many of his guests, which opened me up to the incredible world of alternative media, mostly on YouTube.

From there, I was able to really begin to understand and form my own ideas, my own values and be able to apply those to whatever the outrage of the month was. Instead of jumping on whatever bandwagon CNN and half my FB feed was telling me to jump onto while only providing a small portion of relevant information, I started to look into issues for myself and take in a broad spectrum of views before forming an opinion. Once that happened, I had no choice but to conclude that on a whole lotta issues- I agreed way more often with the actual policies that Trump proposed than the Democrats. I would consider myself a right-leaning libertarian, or a libertarian leaning conservative at this point. Haven’t chosen one yet   ;)

I can’t go into every single example, but let’s take one - the wall. The wall is racist! Right? Not so much… The wall makes as much sense as having a gate around your property. His rhetoric was definitely over the top sometimes, but anyone claiming he said ALL Mexicans are rapists are being shamelessly dishonest. He used harsh language about very bad people as a way to get his message across. The media made it seem like the wall is as bad as taking brown babies and throwing them into a ditch, but stop and think for one minute- America is not anti-(legal) immigrants, and neither is Trump. All the wall would accomplish is forcing asylum seekers to request access to the country legally, as well as doing some badly needed damage to the loads of drugs, weapons, and human trafficking that a wall-less border allows for. Both positives for the country.

Now I’ll switch from what started attracting me to the Republican party to what drove me away, very quickly, from the Democratic party. If I had to choose one word it would be intolerance. The condescending attitudes combined with a touch of hysteria tainted every single conversation and debate, to the point that it’s almost impossible to find someone who still associates and considers themselves a leftist who’s willing to have a civil and honest conversation without jumping to attack the person they’re speaking with.

So many assumptions on the left are based on pure falsehood, that only serves to divide. The idea that minorities, gays, women, blacks, even Jews are under attack, or under some sort of threat posed by the Trump administration is pure garbage based on nothing other than a storm of hysteria whipped up by the mainstream media and even elected officials of the Democratic party at this point. Saying that doesn’t make me homophobic, racist, anti-Semitic, sexist or any other label people might want to slap at me- it makes me realistic.

The best part of this journey is what I found when I started opening my eyes and engaging in conversation with anyone who doesn’t fit the tiny path leftists have shrunk to - I found love, acceptance, tolerance, willingness to engage in ideas that were opposing or even controversial - everything the Left and the Democrats claim to stand for! The only diversity the Left welcomes at this point is diversity of skin color, ethnicity, and sexual orientation, which in itself is actually kind of racist/homophobic/insert here. Just look at how conservative blacks/gays/Mexicans are treated. There is zero tolerance, as seen on your thread, for diversity of ideas, even when the other ideas come from someone who I know for a fact isn’t racist or homophobic- me!

Trump Derangement Syndrome is real, and it’s dangerous. I’m grateful every day that I was snapped out of it and I’m back to my sunny, happy personality now that I stopped believing that every time Trump does or says something, someone will die or the world will end. It’s dangerous because as hateful as they claim the rhetoric is from Trump, it’s actually significantly worse coming from the Anti-Trump crowd who are ironically blinded by hatred. I’ve never seen personal attacks and rhetoric as vicious as we’ve been seeing from the Anti-Trump crowd, and it’s getting worse, not better. The adults in the room have GOT to stand up and say enough is enough, before they destroy everything they claim to protect.

The great thing about this time is, as Dave Rubin says, that the shakeup has provided some seriously fertile ground for thoughts and conversations in the mainstream, and we’re looking at a mass exodus from the Democratic party that really can’t be stopped at this point. They’ve thrown too many Americans off their narrow path, and I don’t see them backtracking and winning them back anytime soon.

If you listen to even 10 minutes of Victor Davis Hanson you'll have a better understanding of why Trump won and why (if you are a Democrat) you are still so puzzled and so angry. California professor Victor Davis Hanson and Canadian professor Jordan Peterson seem like brothers to me--anyone else see that? Erudite, calm, sensible, practical, rural backgrounds. If you are a conservative, you'll get a lot from the Q & A; but it would make the liberals squeamish. Being a classicist, VDH has a great sweep of history. And being a farmer in California, he has some interesting input on illegal immigration.

I don't see a date for this speech, but it was before Trump’s inauguration, and everything he cites that he expects Democrats to do, they did.

Alexander Ioannidis Walks away from the Democrats—Congratulations

Here is my #WalkAway moment. The top picture is one of me in April of 2016 phone banking for the Sanders campaign. I was a pro-life socialist because my faith tells me to care for poor people. The way Bernie pitched socialism was appealing. I agreed with him and I fell in love. I thought the left held a moral high ground.

One thing that struck me during that campaign was a comment someone made to me that she would never vote for me in the future unless I respected a woman’s “right” to have an abortion. That comment meant nothing to me at the time, though it should have been a red flag. I was as far to the left as it got and I was taking heat because I disagreed on one issue.

After President Trump won the election, I was hopeful. I was terrified of what Trump would do, but I hoped that his heart would change and he would be compassionate to people whom I thought conservatives wanted to oppress. I told my comrades on the left that I was hoping Trump would be successful, and they would lash out at me and attack my character because I was “helping empower a fascist.”

In 2017, I started my business major and I saw how businesses actually helped poor people by creating jobs for them. It made me think critically and for myself. I then saw a PragerU video in a YouTube ad about how socialism ruined Brazil. To this day, it is the only YouTube ad that I have not skipped. This got me more curious and I started reading more about poverty and socialism. As the year progressed, I began to see just how hateful the left was. They hated me because I did not agree with them 100% of the time. As I began to do more research, I got more and more hate from my former comrades.

Over the last year, I learned that the left just wants people to be dependent so they can stay in power. I learned that the left does not care about minorities, but they want to divide us by race and class to secure our votes. I learned that conservatives see past skin color and only care about upholding liberty and giving everyone an opportunity to live the American Dream. I became disgusted by the hatred the left espoused toward America. I became enamored with America and what a great country it truly was.

By 2018, I had taken the red pill. The best way to help people is to give them liberty and to invest in them rather than to use government handouts to keep them at the bottom. The left is devious, but I have seen the light. I am now a proud supporter of President Trump. I hope and pray for him everyday, especially that he will become a believer if he is not currently one. This millennial loves America and President Trump, and I am now trying to help others on my campus see the light like I did. I hope and pray that America does not get destroyed by socialism like my parent’s homeland of Greece! I am proud to have #WalkedAway

What is leadership?

I really disliked President Trump during the campaign of 2016. My loyalties and contributions shifted as the fabulous strong bench of the brightest and best narrowed, my final choice being Cruz, who is, I believe, still the finest speaker and sharpest guy in Congress. About 2 days after Trump was acknowledged as the Republican candidate, I realized although he was no prize personally, he was head and shoulders above the alternative. Time and again he has since proven me wrong about his abilities, intelligence and common sense, and I've seen his brashness, pomposity, energy and shady deals pay off, most recently this week as he seems successfully to be calling Europe to accountability, when 40 years of chiding and mealy mouthed pretty speeches by former presidents resulted in zip, nada, zilch.

I'm reading "Making a Difference; stories of vision and courage from America's leaders" by Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger. It's a collection of stories about what qualities make one a leader--people as different as Tammy Duckworth, Michelle Rhee, and Jim Sinegal. I see Trump's qualities in many of these stories. Sully is a much admired American hero, but if he were to run on a political ticket--either party--he would be roundly denounced.
