Do eye glasses protect you from Coronavirus?

I always thought it made sense that wearing eye glasses all day could protect one from virus particles, but never heard much about it. Now it's come to light again due to a study done in China (which I actually don't trust much). Two theories—glasses block the entry and keep your hands away from touching your eyes when your hands are contaminated. This is observational, as are the mask studies.

Waiting for new glasses

My cataracts are gone, but I’ll need some sort of prescription so that I don’t have to carry around reading glasses (currently using 3 pair, and seem to always be looking for them).  The first few weeks my close up vision was fine, but has slipped some, and distance still has some astigmatism.  When we were at the lake 2 weeks ago, I found a pair from 1989. I’m still adjusting to color—particularly anything in the blue spectrum. According to what I’ve read, some people with cataract removal experience more purple.

Errands

After the mail run for church today I stopped at my doctor's office and made an appointment for a check up--seems I missed 2009; then on to the vet's to see about getting that prescription refilled because the cat has started sneezing serially again; then on to the optometrist to make an appointment. My last "new" glasses are from a 2007 exam, but I exchanged them 5 times. This time I decided to browse the frames display so as not to make another mistake. I overheard the man behind me tell the manager, "Thems look like ol' lady glasses ta me." His belly took up his chair plus part of the table, he hadn't taken off his baseball cap in a month of Sundays, and he was wearing muddy work boots. Ah, youth.

The one mile of sidewalk being built with ARRA funds on our street (banner and sign announces this) is just about finished. A little grass seed and it will look great. I'll soon be able to walk to the coffee shop. Of course, it looks like they were drunk when they laid it out--goes around sewer covers and utility boxes. Thank you, America. I'm sure we in Upper Arlington wouldn't have been able to swing this on our own tax money.

Fourth time--is it a charm?

I picked up my new glasses this morning. This is the fourth pair since early June. I had selected dark, rectangular frames (sort of early 1960-ish), all the rage right now, but got some strange reflection, like a prism, where the lens and frame met--tried 3 different styles, both metal and plastic. I finally said I would have to go back to something similar to my old pair, with a frame only at the top. This photo is either the first or second pair, when I wore them occasionally in Italy in June. The third pair I could see distance and computer range, but couldn't read comfortably. I wore those about 15 minutes. No one will even notice the fourth pair because even I can hardly tell them from the old ones.
