Not an insurrection, but a distraction

Not an insurrection. Hardly even a riot by 2020 Antifa standards. But a January Distraction. That's a good term. But the media are desperate to get back the high ratings from pounding on Trump, so I hope no one is watching or listening to the news today. They are making this all about Trump, even with all the government spies embedded with the J6 folks storming the capitol. One guy, Ray Epps has just disappeared but is walking/riding around in Arizona, not arrested. Except maybe for last night's Tucker monologue. Do watch that. He ridiculed the left for comparing that dust up with WWII's Pearl Harbor or the Civil War battles. What a bunch of wimps. Even Ted Cruz--a terrible disappointment. The most articulate Republican we have and he goes all horrified and terrified. https://youtu.be/KT5HsnOBGKE Congress has PTSD and hurt feelings, but they're strong enough to try to use this to win in 2022.

"The investigative reporting team at Revolver revealed in an Oct. 25 report that Epps appears to have “led the ‘breach team’ that committed the very first illegal acts” on Jan. 6. “What’s more, Epps and his ‘breach team’ did all their dirty work with 10 minutes still remaining in President Trump’s National Mall speech, and with the vast majority of Trump supporters still 30 minutes away from the Capitol.”

Revolver also discovered that the FBI had “stealthily removed” Epps from its Capitol Violence Most Wanted List on July 1." Who is Ray Epps, Part II: Citizens who confronted alleged informant get FBI visits

Just don’t get Covid

“The cancellation of regular medical care during the coronavirus pandemic could yield a “massive wave” of cancer patients. [Breitbart News]

So what? So LONG AS YOU DON'T GET COVID, THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.
Better to die from cancer than catch COVID. Better to lose all of your liberty, live with 50 percent unemployment and widespread impoverishment, and never leave the house again ... JUST SO YOU DON'T GET COVID. What is the central purpose of life? We now know the answer: DON'T CATCH COVID.

And: if preventing another person from getting COVID (with a 99 percent survival rate) means you or I die from cancer ... well, the sacrifice was worth it. Self-sacrifice is a good thing, right?

In the Middle Ages, mass waves of insanity gripped entire towns. Today we have a mass wave of insanity gripping the entire world. There are no words.”

Party like it's 1875

"Barack Obama, understanding the histrionics required in climate-change debates, promises that U.S. emissions in 2050 will be 83 percent below 2005 levels. If so, 2050 emissions will equal those in 1910, when there were 92 million Americans. But there will be 420 million Americans in 2050, so Obama's promise means that per capita emissions then will be about what they were in 1875. That. Will. Not. Happen."
George Will, Washington Post

"Some climate scientists compound their delusions of intellectual adequacy with messiah complexes. They seem to suppose themselves a small clerisy entrusted with the most urgent truth ever discovered. On it, and hence on them, the planet's fate depends. So some of them consider it virtuous to embroider facts, exaggerate certitudes, suppress inconvenient data, and manipulate the peer-review process to suppress scholarly dissent and, above all, to declare that the debate is over.

Consider the sociology of science, the push and pull of interests, incentives, appetites and passions. Governments' attempts to manipulate Earth's temperature now comprise one of the world's largest industries. Tens of billions of dollars are being dispensed, as by the U.S. Energy Department, which has suddenly become, in effect, a huge venture capital operation, speculating in green technologies. Political, commercial, academic and journalistic prestige and advancement can be contingent on not disrupting the (postulated) consensus that is propelling the gigantic and fabulously lucrative industry of combating global warming."
