James Clyburn, D-SC, wants to limit speech, words, and hurtful things that might cause confusion to a young man, but only if it's legally protected political speech. Interestingly enough, just two years ago, a blogger wrote about bands with violent names who were coming to Arizona on tour. Do you suppose Loughner, who used to play in a band, might have been influenced by "I set my friends on Fire," or "Fucked up" with a 300 lb. frontman, "Circle of Dead Children," "And You will know us by the trail of the dead," and "The Killers." Now that was just January 2009--and they sound like groups that would only appeal to a disturbed 20 year old. And what about Guns and Roses, will Clyburn ban them, or just Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. I don't know if they've played Tucson, but there's "Death Cab for Cutie," "Murder by death," "Cannibal corpses," "Bomb for Birthday," "Daggerhart," "The dash," [tombstone] "Dead 'til Friday," "Dead on arrival," "Naked toast and the butter knives," and "Bullet for my valentine." I think you get the idea, but Clyburn won't--he's too busy sharpening a dull knife.

Rapper 50 Cent has had his video for the song "I Still Kill" banned from both MTV and BET, but I'm guessing you can still download it; gansta rap has slightly fallen out of favor after feminists and black women protested, however, it's still being downloaded from the internet. Wasn't there one that shows a naked black woman's severed head? A study of lyrics content published in 2001 shows that 22 percent (N = 107) of the 490 gangsta rap music songs had violent and misogynist lyrics. Assault was the most frequently occurring criminal offense, portrayed in 50 percent of the violent and misogynist songs. Other rankings: rape only = 11 percent; murder only = 31 percent; rape and murder = 7 percent.

Invasion of privacy
ABC News and the Obesity Police have gone too far in bringing up Regina Benjamin's weight. What else can the media do to discourage women from running for public office? The biggest topic on the anti-Hillary blogs wasn't her politics, it was her legs. So far, I think Benjamin's the best of the bunch of all the Obama appointees. At least I don't think she has evaded her taxes, been a lobbyist or hired an illegal. And OMG! She has actually worked for a living--owned her own medical practice! It's not a position with power, but she will have some visibility and like Clarence Thomas who also came up from poor, southern rural roots, she exemplifies the best in our society. And she'll be a role model for young women who don't fit the rah-rah cheerleader mold. Women like Sarah Palin who played on the team instead of cheering for it and didn't run on the reputation of a husband or father. You go girl. Now, some of the male members of Congress on the other hand, Murtha, Dodd, Kennedy, Frank. . . that's a lot of fat cat flatulence in the atmosphere. Didn't Dodd and Kennedy sponsor some anti-obesity legisation?

Dear Sarah Palin
That was the google search a few moments ago--I think I found 3,700,000. I was looking for an apology from John McCain for the way his staff has been scrambling for cover trying to find someone to blame. I even went down to the dregs--like page 57 or something--almost all were September and October. The vilification, misogyny, and sexism just went on and on. Like a huge leaky pustule on the nose of a Bush Derangement Syndrome Blogger. Really bizarre. I really didn't know there was such hatred and fear of capable, charismatic, talented women. I attended the rallies and did one volunteer shift--and from what I could tell, without her, he would have been lucky to draw 100 people. So I don't know what his staffers are upset about; she was a pure gift and they blew.

What Sarah really said to Charlie
Remember how she was denigrated and dissed for that interview? Read the full interview and see what was edited out. She had a whole lot more to say about Russia and Iran than what we heard. The Charlotte Front and Center is a PUMA website for Hillary supporters and it is supporting McCain-Palin in their anger over the sexism and misogyny by the Obama people and supporters in the MSM.
