Snopes.com has had to publish an item about Gosnell snipping the spinal cords of born alive infants and that no, this isn't an urban legend. That's what happens when the media fail to report, and word starts getting out. People wonder how this could be if they didn't know about his trial. Now the media are saying, yes, but he's the exception. How do we know that? We know skulls are routinely crushed in the birth canal; what's a few inches in the life of a child? People who knew him for years thought everything about him was professional and caring. http://www.allaboutlifechallenges.org/late-term-abortion.htm

So you are pro-choice
and you voted for Obama and you are loyal to the Democratic party to the death. You didn’t vote for this, did you?
“One woman…was left lying in place for hours after Gosnell tore her cervix and colon while trying, unsuccessfully, to extract the fetus. Relatives who came to pick her up were refused entry into the building; they had to threaten to call the police. They eventually found her inside, bleeding and incoherent, and transported her to the hospital, where doctors had to remove almost half a foot of her intestines.”

Philadelphia Department of Health complicit in Gosnell killings
It's great that we're passing the news along about Kermit Gosnell [which the media have ignored], killer of women and babies in Philadelphia. But now the focus needs to shift to the health department which turned a blind eye for over a decade, while this man made millions. Hospitals reported the damaged women that were coming to them. Injured patients reported Gosnell. Their reports went nowhere. One of the health department officials was a doctor who when in private practice had been referring teens to Gosnell. The women and babies were primarily poor and minority. I doubt that this collapse of public health is limited to Pennsylvania. Our local agencies are afraid to do anything about abortion clinics. Helping the poor is often just a platform for building a power base.
When a mentally ill man kills his mother and shoots up a school it is news 24/7 for weeks and the President takes the dead with him on a campaign tour to regain the House. When Gosnell kills far more for decades, making himself a millionaire, it is ignored by the media and the White House.
Where are the media? Where’s the outrage from my liberal friends and family?
"For all of the historical accounts and professed concerns over the CIA's detention and extraordinary rendition program, which involved '136 known victims,' it is time for an accounting of the CIA's drone strikes, which have killed between 3,000 and 4,000 people in Pakistan and Yemen," Micah Zenko writes. So, where are our vigilant friends in the media? Hiding out with the Syrian gun running? They were certainly on top of every failure and disaster during the Bush years. Must have used up all their smarts, and have become deaf, dumb and blind on behalf of Obama.

The Democrats health plan for African Americans
If you’ve never heard of Kermit Gosnell, you’re watching CBS, NBC and ABC; CNN has mentioned his trial once. Compare that coverage to the Rutgers coach or the Kardashian baby watch.
Might work for a pitch in dinner
Or football watching, but I wouldn’t want to leave them around the house. Too tempting for snacks.

Our freedom of the press—abused and aborted
We know the Democrat party officially supports abortion for any reason at any time. Therefore, when a tragic story involving the truth and horror of abortion hits the front pages, our main stream media has to run and hide as an apologist for the Democrats and President Obama, who as an Illinois Senator was willing to deny health care to a newly born American, whose mother intended for it to be aborted. Finally, this past week, USA Today and The Atlantic have published two opinion pieces from Democrats on the failure of the media to report on the murder of women and babies, and the filth and horror of Gosnell’s abortion clinic.

Trafficking in persons, United States, 2008-2010
Data from the Human Trafficking Reporting System (HTRS)
Most confirmed human trafficking suspects were male (81%), while 19% were female. Based on cases in which race was known, nearly two-thirds (62%) of confirmed sex trafficking suspects were identified as black. Confirmed labor trafficking suspects were more likely to be identified as Hispanic (48%). Most suspects in confirmed sex trafficking incidents were between the ages of 18 and 34 (77%) and were U.S. citizens (86%).
About 8 in 10 of the suspected incidents of human trafficking were classified as sex trafficking, and about 1 in 10 incidents were classified as labor trafficking. Federal agencies were more likely to lead labor trafficking investigations (29%) than sex trafficking investigations (7%).

The story the main stream media isn’t covering—the trial of Kermit Gosnell
“When you perform late-term "abortions" by inducing labor, you get babies. Live, breathing, squirming babies. By 24 weeks, most babies born prematurely will survive if they receive appropriate medical care. But that was not what the Women's Medical Society was about. Gosnell had a simple solution for the unwanted babies he delivered: he killed them. He didn't call it that. He called it "ensuring fetal demise." The way he ensured fetal demise was by sticking scissors into the back of the baby's neck and cutting the spinal cord. He called that "snipping."
Over the years, there were hundreds of "snippings." Sometimes, if Gosnell was unavailable, the "snipping" was done by one of his fake doctors, or even by one of the administrative staff.”
“Marcella Stanley Choung, who told us that her "training" for anesthesia consisted of a 15-minute description by Gosnell and reading a chart he had posted in a cabinet. She was so uncomfortable medicating patients, she said, that she "didn't sleep at night." She knew that if she made even a small error, "I can kill this lady, and I'm not jail material." One night in 2002, when she found herself alone with 15 patients, she refused Gosnell's directives to medicate them. She made an excuse, went to her car, and drove away, never to return. Choung immediately filed a complaint with the Department of State, but the department never acted on it.”
Summary of a late term abortion, Grand Jury Report on Gosnell as [finally] reported in The Atlantic. The author claimed he’d never heard of the case until a report appeared by a conservative in USA Today reporting on the lack of coverage in the media.
The media blackout of the Gosnell trial
Maybe if he’d used a gun . . . instead of just stabbing them. These are seats reserved in the courtroom for the media.
Kermit Gosnell, millionaire abortionist
The abortionist murders are not getting much play in the MSM. Last time I checked there had been 7 stories about his trial (some coverage when he was first accused), 6 were on Fox, one on CNN. Our president is one of the politicians who believes if the intention was to abort, then a born alive baby doesn't need medical attention because it might question a woman’s right to an abortion.* So if the media covered this story, they might have to question his judgment.
Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood worker now pro-life activist, asks “What if Gosnell had been snipping the spinal cords of puppies after they were born?? Think THAT would be news worthy?? Our country has gone nuts.”
Yes, Abby, and this one starts at the top with the politicians, the academics, social workers, and yes, even pastors and priests.
*Obama’s Illinois testimony that he doubted a law would be constitutional if the child had to be given medical care.
“Gosnell catered to minorities, immigrants and poor women, and made millions of dollars over 30 years performing illegal and late-term abortions in squalid and barbaric conditions, prosecutors said. “

The feldshars of the USSR
The old Soviet Union had a solution for our shrinking supply of doctors which is coming our way. Feldshars with a few years of medical training. When I was in graduate school in the 1960s I translated articles from a newspaper, Medisinskii Rabotnik for a professor of sociology. They sent feldshars to the rural areas and left the doctors in the cities to enjoy ballet and symphony and stores with something on the shelves. The government controlled the number, selection, salaries and the region where they were assigned. How many of these physician-lite people do you think will want to come (or be assigned) to your small community?
This morning I had a doctor’s appointment with a specialist. Not only was the computer system with all patient records down, but the back up (in Chicago) was down. They needed to rely on my recall. Beginning in January they will be forced to get rid of all their paper files. None of this EMR/EHR has ever been tested to see if it will save money or improve care, or protect our privacy. It’s a boondoggle for government bureaucracy and a boon for the IT companies. In the last 2 years, my regular doctor has been looking at the screen of his lap top instead of me, and saying they have a new software update he’s learning to use.
Obama is driving doctors out of private practice. How does that help the poor? The doctor I saw this morning has 5500 patients in private practice. Many are low income. Where will they go—someplace with long lines. Where the rest of us will be.
We had the best medical care in the world, and he wanted it taken down.
Be sure to watch the video with this piece.
Obama’s quite a saver
“The big picture is that the administration found $25 billion in savings. Overall spending under the president’s proposed budget would increase $93 billion over last year, so the savings would be gross rather than net. And, obviously, $25 billion isn’t much in a $3.8 trillion budget.”
What a real estate deal!
"Napoleon sold the Louisiana Territory [to the USA in 1803] because he was waging war with Britain and was strapped for cash. He wrongly believed the area a wasteland and hence strongly preferred to retain instead the French colony of Saint-Domingue, which occupied the western half of the island of Hispaniola (the eastern half being the Spanish colony of Santo Domingo). Saint-Domingue boasted a population of 500,000 and plantations of sugar cane, indigo, coffee, and cocoa rich enough to fill 700 ships a year. The French then promptly lost the colony when, in 1804, a successful revolution by black slaves led to the independence of the new nation of Haiti.”

The Lucasville Prison riot

It's the 20th anniversary (Easter Sunday, April 11, 1993) of the Lucasville prison riot in Southern Ohio. We were on a visitor list for a prisoner we’d known at OP, so were inside the walls shortly after it opened. Some people thought it was too good, too palatial for hardened felons. And compared to the old Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus (now gone), it was nice. But if you don't have your freedom, it's just another prison. Remember that and think on the Bill of Rights which is being eroded daily by executive order, by regulation, by the courts, by the Congress, by political correctness, and by our own laziness.

Coconut flour—I’d never heard of it—but here it is
- Coconut flour is rich in protein, fiber and fat which makes it exceptionally filling.
- Coconut flour is also a good source of lauric acid, a saturated fat thought to support the immune system and the thyroid. Like most healthy fats, lauric acid also promotes good skin health.
- Coconut flour is an exceptionally good source of manganese which helps you to better utilize many nutrients including choline and biotin (found in eggs), vitamin C and thiamin. Manganese also supports bone health, nervous system function, thyroid health and helps to maintain optimal blood sugar levels.
- Coconut flour is not grain-based, and, as such does not present many of the issues that accompany grains. Coconut flour is gluten-free and, while it does contain food phytate, the mineral-binding effects of phytates in coconut are virtual nonexistent so coconut flour does not need to be soaked (read more about soaking coconut flour).
Salmon Cakes- Gluten Free
2 tablespoons onion, finely diced
2 tablespoons celery, finely diced
1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
... 1 small garlic clove, finely minced
1/4 cup avocado, mashed
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or other preferred seasoning)
1/4 teaspoon dried dill
6 oz cooked salmon
1 1/2 tablespoons coconut flour
2-3 tablespoons full-fat coconut milk*
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Finely chop the onion, celery, parsley, and garlic. Place the chopped veggies, avocado, seasoning, salmon, and coconut flour to a bowl. Mix well then add 2 tablespoons coconut milk and mix again. Add additional coconut milk, up to a tablespoon, if needed to hold the mixture together. Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
Form patties and arrange on a plate or other dish. Make 14-16 mini cakes or 5-7 medium sized cakes. Cover place and place in the refrigerator for approximately an hour.
To cook, heat coconut oil in skillet over med heat. When the oil is hot, add cakes, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Fry 4-5 minutes per side, flipping only once (make sure first side is crispy and golden brown before flipping).
I don’t cook gluten free; just thought it sounded interesting.
