The Wesleys must be rolling in their graves

"The United Methodist headquarters in Washington, DC, is hosting a month-long exhibit that portrays the founding of Israel as a catastrophe.

The display, which is titled "60 Years of Dispossession," chronicles what Palestinians call the "Nakba" -- the Palestinian word for "catastrophe." Palestinians use the word to describe Israel's founding, an event that is reviled in the Arab world. The photo exhibit trumps what it describes as "the 1948 mass deportation of Palestinians, massacres of civilians, and the razing to the ground of hundreds of Palestinian villages" following Israel's creation." What a sad end to a once great leader in the Christian church.

Especially sad since it's not true. The "Palestine Mandate" was part of the defeated Turkish Empire, in which the British promised to make a homeland for the Jews.

In 1922, Churchill gave 80% of the 'Palestine Mandate' to Arabs.

In 1948, the UN divided the 20% left into 2 parts: one for Arabs, one for Jews. 60% of the part for Jews was desert. The Jews managed to make the desert bloom through hard work, sweat, toil, and blood.

Jews have occupied the territory continuously for 3700+ years. Arabs have only lived there since the Muslim invasions of the 7th century. Palestine is actually Jewish land that was stolen from them and given to Arabs. On the day Isreal was created in 1948, 5 Arab countries attacked, and 1 out of every 100 Jews was killed in the ensuing war. Arabs told 'Palestinians' to leave, or they would not be protected during the war. Those who stayed were thrown into prisons (by Arabs) a la the ghettos Jews were forced into in Eastern Europe. Arabs killed Arabs.

Arabs living in Israel today have more rights than Arabs living in other Arab countries.

Who are the evil ones? Certainly not the Jews! How can "Christians" not only embrace, but promote, such lies?

I don't know Kelli, it baffles me, but unfortunately, many main line denominations follow the liberal party line.
