Dirty little secrets in the House Bill reveal Obama’s claims for health reform are lies

"You lie." And this time it's the non-partisan and independent Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services saying it, not a "Southern racist congressman" as the media tried to portray Joe Wilson.

" A report released Friday by the non-partisan and independent Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the agency in charge of running Medicare and Medicaid, blows the lid off of every one of Obama’s claims. All of the following quotes are from the report itself [this summary is from The Morning Bell webpage]:

Health Care Costs Increase: “In aggregate, we estimate that for calendar years 2010 through 2019 [national health expenditures (NHE)] would increase by $289 billion, or 0.8 percent, over the updates baseline projection that was released on June 29, 2009.” In other words, Obamacare bends the cost curve up, not down.

Millions Lose Existing Private Coverage: “However, a number of workers who currently have employer coverage would likely become enrolled in the expanded Medicaid program or receive subsidized coverage through the Exchange. For example, some smaller employers would be inclined to terminate their existing coverage, and companies with low average salaries might find it to their - and their employees’ - advantage to end their plans … We estimate that such actions would collectively reduce the number of people with employer-sponsored health coverage by about 12 million.” In other words, Obamacare will cause millions of Americans to lose their existing private coverage. . .

Seniors Access to Care Jeopardized: “H.R. 3962 would introduce permanent annual productivity adjustments to price updates for institutional providers… Over time, a sustained reduction in payment updates, based on productivity expectations that are difficult to attain, would cause Medicare payment rates to grow more slowly than and in a way that was unrelated to, the providers’ costs of furnishing services to beneficiaries. Thus, providers for whom Medicare constitutes a substantive portion of their business could find it difficult to remain profitable and might end their participation in the program (possibly jeopardizing access to care for beneficiaries).” In other words, the Medicare cuts in the House bill are so out of touch with reality that hospitals currently serving Medicare patients might be forced to stop doing so. Thus making it much more difficult for seniors to get health care."

There is much more--go here to read the news about the lies we’ve been told or bring up the report and read it. Few, including your congressional representative, read the bill--so you might as well read the analysis.

Here in central Ohio radio land we are being annoyed by syrupy radio ads for Mary Jo Kilroy extolling her part in this mess (I think the ad campaign is sponsored by a union). Over half of government workers (local, state, federal) are now unionized, up from 17.3% in the early 1970s. Guess who your representative is really representing? Guess who wants to unload onto the taxpayer their health care responsibilities and pie-in-the-sky promises after taking workers' dues all those years?

Pelosi Broke her Pledge

to put the final health care bill online for 72 hours before the vote, so why should we believe anything else about protections, cost savings, keeping private insurance, rationing, and abortion that she used to twist arms and can she even be trusted by the blue dogs to pass out the pork she promised at our expense? She can't keep a simple promise, nor can the President. Obama broke his campaign promise for transparency and being honest with the American people. That was to be part of the "hope and change." What a team of liars those two are. She calls it a victory; Obama says it's the most glorious event of their careers. I don't have enough bad words in my vocabulary to even describe them.

Obama's not tired, he says, just getting started

Glenn Beck says he’s tired of socialism and the corruption in Washington; Obama says he’s not. Tired, that is. Someone at the White House is listening to Beck and mimicking him.
“When I’m busy, and Nancy’s busy, with a mop cleaning up somebody else’s mess, we don’t want somebody sitting back saying, ‘you’re not holding the mop the right way’ … ‘you’re not mopping fast enough’ … ‘that’s a socialist mop.’”

“Grab a mop. We need help.”

Obama, at the Westin St. Francis Hotel here after visiting New Orleans earlier in the day, addressed a small group of donors at an intimate dinner for 160, and then moved several floors downstairs to a larger ballroom, where he addressed a sold-out crowd of about 900 attendees. The singer Tracy Chapman warmed up the ballroom crowd with her 1988 hit, “Talkin’ ‘Bout a Revolution.”

Guests at the dinner contributed $34,000 per couple, and tickets for the main event ranged between $500 and $1,000. The DNC expects to have raised about $3 million in total.

. . . “I hope that all of you guys understand that we’re just getting started.”

“Some of our opponents think that they can wear us down,” he said. “I’m not tired. I’m refreshed. We are not going to stop.” Politico
The WSJ Washington Wire didn’t mention the “socialist mop” statement, maybe because they know that’s the only one he’s got?

Remember, folks, he said he intended to fundamentally change the United States of America. He said he was going to redistribute wealth. He was going to raise energy costs with cap and trade. He was going to take over the health care system. He told us. Think back a year ago, two years ago. Was your life so awful before he began the run for the White House? Are you better off now with all this "change?"

"You Lie!" Joe Wilson

From Blogsphere: HT Nancy at American Daughter

". . .tonight Obama stood before Congress and lied to the members. Rep. Joe Wilson has read the bill. Barack Obama has not read the bill, and is relying on his handlers to tell him what to say. Politicians on both sides of the aisle called upon Wilson to apologize, which he did. Many, including John McCain, seemed to think that Wilson was rude for calling out from the audience. Personally, I believe that Obama was rude for lying to Congress and to the American citizens who were watching and listening. And Obama was arrogant and disdainful for assuming that we are stupid enough to believe his lie. ActBlue immediately created a fund-raising page for Joe Wilson's 2010 Democratic challenger Rob Miller titled No More Name Calling. So far they have raised a grand total of $100 from three supporters. And Wikipedia had to disable editing of their article on Joe Wilson due to vandalism. Which is more important -- the veneer of manners or the gut of honesty? Have any of these pantywaists ever watched a session of the British parliament? In any event, the future probably will favor Wilson. We understand that he has aspirations for higher office, and the governorship in his state may soon be vacant. In this timely moment, he has just become a national ideological hero. He gave voice to the frustrated silent majority, and they are ecstatic:"
The new battle cry of all TRUE AMERICANS:
