Still pro-life

I was listening to Mike Gallagher this morning (conservative talk show) and you would have thought not believing in the death penalty belongs only to the left.

I'm pro-life and consistent--no death penalty for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The same reasons you hear for killing a fetus are used for him--cost, inconvenience, kinder in the long run, etc. Of course, babies aren't guilty of a crime, but at least we don't need to participate.

The death of Clayton Lockett

President Obama said the botched execution of a murderer was "deeply troubling." In 1999, Clayton Lockett kidnapped, beat, and shot 19-year-old Stephanie Neiman and ordered accomplices to bury her alive; this was after forcing the victim to witness the gang rape of a friend of Neiman.  Lockett had recently been released from prison and chose his young victim at random.  To my knowledge, President Obama has not called her torture and death deeply troubling.

The criminal didn’t die—right away

I don't believe in the death penalty. The execution in Oklahoma of 2 men (one of which failed) is no where near as inhumane and violent as what babies in the womb are experiencing every day. For instance, the base of the fetus's skull is punctured with a sharp instrument such as a long scissors or pointed metal tube, or the body of the baby is cut into pieces and removed. A bit more violent than having a heart attack during a botched execution. One of these men, Charles Warner, raped and killed an 11 month old baby; the other, Clayton Lockett, tortured and murdered a 19 year old woman. Babies in the womb, on the other hand, did no crime except appear on the scene at an inconvenient time.

Lockett, 38, was convicted of the killing of 19-year-old, Stephanie Neiman, in 1999. She was shot and buried alive. Lockett was also convicted of raping her friend in the violent home invasion that lead to Neiman's death. Warner, 46, was found guilty of raping and killing 11-month-old Adrianna Waller in 1997. He lived with the child's mother.

Tiller’s abortion clinic will reopen

It’s true that atheist dictators and despots have killed far more people (usually their own citizens/subjects) than all the wars Christians have fought over theology, liturgy, Christology, etc., however, if Christian abortionists like George Tiller (Lutheran) and the pro-choice Christians keep at it, they could surpass those killing fields.

“The Wichita-based non-profit group Trust Women Foundation Inc. purchased Tiller’s former clinic in late August, Executive Director Julie Burkhart said Wednesday.

Erin Thompson, an attorney for Tiller’s widow, confirmed the sale. “

I’m against the death penalty, whether it’s murder of an abortionist, murder of a pre-born baby, or the legal execution of a slime ball doctor who murdered his fellow soldiers at Ft. Hood.  But at least I’m consistent.  Are you?

An abortionist can make more money before noon in one day, than following one patient 7 months to deliver a live baby, and s/he doesn’t need to worry about being sue several years later if the baby isn’t perfect, smart, and athletic.

Here in Ohio

Much of the upper Midwest is covered in snow today. Here in Ohio it is 51, but we'll soon get your wintry blast, but not the blizzard. About every 5-10 years we get a blizzard--although Iowa and Nebraska would laugh at it.

Also in Ohio yesterday the state put a murderer to death with a single injection. The official announcement on the radio sounded a bit like a weather reporter announcing a new gizmo.

I don't support the death penalty--why should we the people sink to the low of a common criminal? However, if I did, I would have chosen his method. Ken Biros got off and out much too easy, and he was convicted close to 20 years ago. After killing Tami Engstrom, he dismembered and mutilated her and scattered her body parts here and there in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

I don't believe in the death penalty

but if I did, this man, Daniel Wilson, would be first on the list to go. Locking a woman in the trunk of her car and setting the gas tank on fire, or beating up an elderly neighbor and leaving him to die, Yup. And you know what? Because he's a white male who killed a white woman and another white male, they aren't even "hate" crimes.

The Death Penalty

Unlike many Democrats who support the death penalty for inconvenient or impaired babies, and many Republicans who will save babies but not wretched criminals, I do not support the death penalty. But if I did, Ohio's own fatso complainer, who first claimed he was too fat, then that he got fat in prison, surely deserved it. If you want to read more about this worthless piece of slime, for whom Jesus gave his life because all of us are fallen and don't live up to God's standard of perfection, read Cheat Seeking Missiles.

What teens can do to help the world

St. Francis DeSales High School seniors were protesting the death penalty at the Ohio Statehouse last week (Columbus Dispatch, 9-27-07). I don't support the death penalty (there were 2 executions in Ohio this year) because I don't want to be drawn into doing evil by the evil deeds of others. However, these teens could save thousands of lives each year by working for raising the legal driving age to 18. Yes, it's that simple. About 6,000 teens are killed each year in auto accidents because they don't have the maturity and brain development to handle the constant decisions about safety and driving that it requires. Anyone driving with a teen in the car, even adults, increase their risk of an accident.

I won't hold my breath that they'll try to make a real difference about something they face every day. Maybe they could start small and just turn off their cell phones while driving.
Nationwide, car crashes are the leading cause of teen death — among especially 16-year-olds, according to the highway safety group. Statistics include motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles.

Teen motor vehicle fatalities declined in the 1980s, almost entirely because of crackdowns on underage drinking. But the decline leveled off in the 1990s, and the rates haven't changed much since.

A number of factors make teens vulnerable to auto crashes. They lack experience behind the wheel. Their brains are not mature enough to handle the multiple mental tasks driving requires. They don't always wear seat belts. They're more likely to speed, especially at night and especially with other teens in the car.Tennessean.com
