Put on your big girl pants

This may be the only sympathetic feeling I have for Kamala Harris: speaking in public. I'd bring along a guy for support, too (Walz). I'd let someone else speak for me if I could, too.  I'd make up rules to benefit only me, too. I spoke to my church as a teen-ager after a conference; I spoke at my professional organization's national meeting when I was the president; I spoke about how to use the library at freshman orientations in the Veterinary college for a number of years; when the WWW came online, I gave a seminar on how to use it, and a few other times. It was painful each time. I don't like public speaking. But she signed on for the job and she should start behaving like a big girl. We know she can, because she spoke to her sorority sisters rather than do her Vice President duties in meeting with Netanyahu of Israel a few days after she was anointed by the party to take Biden's place.

Biden's lies about George Washington and Democracy

Joe Biden gave a speech at Valley Forge on January 5. It was embarrassing. He got so much wrong. Who writes his speeches? George Washington never used the word "democracy" at Valley Forge, but good old Joe used the word 29 times! He said it was the whole point of what Washington was fighting for. He said democracy is on the ballot in 2024. No! Democracy is for mobs, and the Founders didn't want that. They designed a Constitutional Republic.** Joe also again for the umpteenth time called a riot at the capitol an insurrection which might destroy the sacred cause for which Washington and his men fought for. He lied about their cause, but he's allowing mobs to roam our streets and demand death to Jews and has not said anything. While funding two wars, he's allowing an invasion at our southern border and is doing nothing to stop it. Both are far greater threats than anything that happened on January 6, 2021.

**A constitutional republic is a form of government in which the head of the state, as well as other officials, are elected by the country’s citizens to represent them. Those representatives must then follow the rules of that country’s constitution in governing their people. Like the U.S. government, a constitutional republic may consist of three branches – executive, judicial, and legislative – which divide the power of the government so that no one branch becomes too powerful.

President Trump condemns bigotry

Why is the left so unhappy with Trump's public denounciation of the activists in Charlottesville? I've highlighted (in caps) the problem. He blamed them all.

"I just met with FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The Department of Justice has opened a civil rights investigation into the deadly car attack that killed one innocent American and wounded 20 others. To anyone who acted criminally in this weekend’s racist violence, you will be held fully accountable. Justice will be delivered.

As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. It has no place in America.

And as I have said many times before: No matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other, and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans.
Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, AND OTHER HATE GROUPS THAT ARE REPUGNANT to everything we hold dear as Americans.

We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America. . . ." August 14, 2017, President Donald Trump

President Trump in Europe

"Mr. Trump is taking a clear stand against the kind of gauzy globalism and vague multiculturalism represented by the worldview of, say, Barack Obama and most contemporary Western intellectuals, who are willing, even eager, to concede the argument to critics of the West’s traditions. This is the speech Mr. Trump should have given to introduce himself to the world at his Inauguration. In place of that speech’s resentments, his Warsaw talk offered a better form of nationalism. It is a nationalism rooted in values and beliefs—the rule of law, freedom of expression, religious faith and freedom from oppressive government—that let Europe and then America rise to prominence. This, Mr. Trump is saying, is worth whatever it takes to preserve and protect." (Wall St. Journal)

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2017/07/07/trumps_powerful_speech_in_poland_134405.html

"Trump offered a concise, powerful statement of western achievements and why they are worth defending. “We write symphonies,” he said. “We pursue innovation. We celebrate our ancient heroes, embrace our timeless traditions and customs, and always seek to explore and discover brand-new frontiers. . . . We cherish inspiring works of art that honor God. We treasure the rule of law and protect the right to free speech and free expression. We empower women as pillars of our society and of our success. We put faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, at the center of our lives. And we debate everything.”

President Obama called slaves immigrants--in 11 speeches at least

Bob Beckel (Fox) said Dr. Carson and President Obama did NOT say the same thing at all because Obama used the word "involuntary" in the clip being circulated and Carson didn't. Dense and Denser. What does he think the word slaves means? Obama used this example of slaves as immigrants eleven times, according to someone (not me) who researched it.

"We say it so often, we sometimes forget what it means — we are a nation of immigrants. Unless you... are one of the first Americans, a Native American, we are all descended from folks who came from someplace else — whether they arrived on the Mayflower or on a slave ship, whether they came through Ellis Island or crossed the Rio Grande."(Barack Obama, 2012)

He linked crossing the Rio Grande, arriving at Ellis Island, and coming on slave ships 10 times as a shared heritage, (I only saw the Mayflower used once) leaving out my ancestors who came in the 17th and 18th centuries.

If it weren't for double standards Democrats would have no standards at all.

Hillary Clinton received $675,000 from Goldman Sachs for 3 speeches

The richest people in Congress are Democrats; the Obamas are worth 438% more than when they entered the White House in 2009 according to their latest tax return (and they were millionaires then). The Obamas invite billionaire hip hop artists who promote violence and sex for black kids to the White House as "entertainment." Then accept their donations. The Clintons have become so rich since leaving the White House (when she said they were broke) you probably can't count it or find it. Planned Parenthood had assets over $1 Billion even five years ago, but they want you to give your tax money, donations, and leave them money in your will all while charging poor women to kill their offspring. It's a money laundry outlet for Democrats.

Yet they want to see Donald Trump's tax returns and he was never in government, but files his taxes according to the laws they set up.

Excerpts from Hillary's speeches to Goldman Sachs with dates.  These are the speeches she refused to release, and have now come out on Wikileaks (media are covering Trump scandals 23:1)  You can see why she didn't want them public. . . speaking out of both sides of her mouth.

“And with political people, again, I would say the same thing, you know, there was a lot of complaining about Dodd-Frank, but there was also a need to do something because for political reasons, if you were an elected member of Congress and people in your constituency were losing jobs and shutting businesses and everybody in the press is saying it's all the fault of Wall Street, you can't sit idly by and do nothing, but what you do is really important.” [GS2, 10/24/13]

“There's nothing magic about regulations, too much is bad, too little is bad. How do you get to the golden key, how do we figure out what works? And the people that know the industry better than anybody are the people who work in the industry.” [GS2, 10/24/13]

Speeches by First Ladies

I've now read more FLOTUS speeches than I care to, and they all talked about parents, hard work, strong values being passed on to their husband and self. Just about the only time Democrats talk about that without charges of racism and white privilege. After all, Obama was raised in a white family and his grandmother was a banker who sent him to private schools. I still think Elizabeth Dole's speech in 96 was the best ever, and no one can borrow from that one. FYI: I'm watching NBC--it is devoting more time to this than necessary. Has NBC ever found fault with the Obamas?

However, if you don't like a candidate the wife is fair game it seems.  I remember when a group from the American Library Association refused to attend (or maybe picketed) a speech by Laura Bush, a former librarian and big supporter of reading and archives.  ALA is so left it could fall off the planet. And I remember people on the right criticizing Mrs. Obama for her toned arms! She always looks great, and is a great role model for girls who can't get out of jeans, but detractors couldn't see it.

I read one account that Michelle’s speech 8 years ago was the same as that 7 habits of highly successful people book. But can’t imagine why Trump's campaign staff wasn’t more careful. At least she didn’t say it was the first time she’d been proud of her country. Although, maybe she did—I didn’t hear the speech.

I was a speech writer for a state politician in my 1983 job for the state of Ohio; it was a lot of cut and paste from her old speeches plus mixing in current issues, then making sure it had her rhythm and style. In those days you didn’t have the internet for checking word phrases.

Yukking it up about the insurance

Charlie Rose was interviewing three of Obama's speech writers. They were asked about some of the significant things they'd had a chance to say/write. One said, "If you like your insurance you can keep it," and hilarious laughter insued. Really? Do they have a clue about the pain and dollars Obamacare's lies have cost millions of Americans, and still there are over 25 million uninsured. Lovett looks like he is 12 years old, but he fooled millions. All three very young and lady-like.
