Remember Minnesota

"By making this choice, Mitt Romney is declaring war. There will be no evasion, no triangulation, no attempt to mask what is at stake in this election. Instead, Romney and Ryan will directly confront Barack Obama and call him to account for putting us on a ruinous course.

This will alter radically the dynamics of the race. The money spent by Obama trying to demonize Governor Romney will prove to be money entirely wasted. The election is not going to be about Mitt Romney. It is not going to be about the sexual revolution. It is not going to be about Bain Capital. It is going to be about the failed policies of Barack Obama, about their dangerous character, and about the sober, sound alternative the Republicans represent. ...

This will help the Republicans in Senate and House races immeasurably, for it will give Romney and Ryan coattails -- now, without a doubt, the candidates in these other races have something concrete on which to run: repeal Obamacare, pare back the entitlements state, reform our system of taxation, and put our fiscal house in order. No one will doubt the capacity of the Republicans to rule.

I have predicted that Romney will win by a landslide. The choice of Paul Ryan means that Romney has chosen the path that will maximize the significance of his victory and its impact on the races for seats in the House and Senate. As in 1980, this is going to be a national election -- in which local particularities count for much less than usual."

You are very right there will be no evasion or triangulation. The issues are now crystal clear. It is the economic policies that gave us the financial meltdown, the opposition to punishment for Wall Street and the GOP push to pare down Medicare all on the backs of the middle income and poor against sane and balanced policy supported by the American people favoring tax hikes on the rich and spending cuts for all.
God loves and cares for people. He doesn't worship markets and He doesn't want you to either.

Now if Romney wins by a landslide it will be of course because of the new unlimited corporate money rolling into him that will dwarf Obama's relatively impressive warchest. Mitt won the primaries over more palatable conservative by spending 6 to 1 or in some cases 12 to 1 over his rivals. Prediction of a landslide is a bet on the money.

Both parties got us to the melt down, but particularly the gov't financial regulations beginning in the 1970s. You can't face the facts that your guy, elected for his looks and slogans, has failed miserably. He might steal it yet, but he won't win it. The heavy donors who supported Obama in 2007 and 2008 are fleeing--they've seen the debt massively increase, they see how he dislikes us.

Gotta admire your courage in responding here Norma, most people wouldn't even try.

Americans fully understand that the Republicans owned the congress, presidency and supreme court during the primary period that drove us into meltdown. Few on the rightwing can face up and man up to this but some have.

Obama good looking? I guess a woman should know though. Also most Americans understand that regardless of who was president after losing virtually our entire banking system there would be no bounce back.
The disengenousness of those on the right but especially Christians pretending that things should be much better this soon is I would think embarrassing in the face of our responsibility to honesty.

Doug, I think you've been here before and have been warned about your subtle hate speech. You're welcome to comment but if you want to bad mouth Christians, Jews, or any other unprotected group, you'll just need to find another blog.

Norma you notice that I said "our responsibility to honesty". I'am not of course referring to Christians as a group but to certain ones on the right and I should have made that more clear. I'am a Christian but certainly a Christian I would like to think in the center politically or positioned wherever relevant to where Christ is with the truth.
I'am sorry you see that comment as a subtle hate speech and I'am sorry if I have offended you. I want to meet you straight on, honestly and civily on any points discussed or at least that is my intention.

You aren't civil and haven't added a thing you haven't said before.

BTW, notice the quotation marks. Go to his page and argue.
