The tale of two elections

Election results were questioned in both 2016 and 2020. In 2016, the issue wasn't fraud, it was the Electoral College and many Democrats wanted the Constitution changed, or wanted to try to undo it with state electors colluding. The whole Russia, Russia, Russia thing came about later when they couldn't undo the electoral process.

In 2020 the issue was illegal behavior by states because of Covid and changing voting rules without state legislation, and questions about the voting machines changing results in the middle of the night when Trump was ahead. It became very clear about why Biden didn't appear during the campaign. He didn't need to. It was fixed from the beginning.

Democrats beginning in 2017 continued to march, riot, whine and spill a lot of ink the next 4 years. They even managed to impeach the President over unrelated issues, but which began by trying to undo a valid election.

Meanwhile, there were real, actual violations of federal and state voting laws which Republicans and Trump supporters questioned. They were not allowed a few weeks, let alone 4 years to investigate, discuss and bring law suits. The Democrats had massive amounts of help from Big Tech, which not only closed down the President, the man Democrats had been vilifying as Hitler redux and a dictator, but they've shut down other prominent Republicans on Twitter, deplatformed millions of conservatives and even prevented selling their books (aka book burning). Gradually, the truth about the election is dribbling out in PA, KY and other states about deadlines missed, voter registration laws ignored, and fraud in mail in voting. Confidence in our election process is at an all time low; it's at 3rd world trust level.

Democrats are rushing to increase the number of states, register illegals, give the franchise to prisoners and underage minors, pack the Supreme Court, and to federalize state elections so they can permanently control the country--a one party system, like the CCP in China. Now how's that for election fraud?

Why Trump is attacked on immigration

The reason President Trump is attacked on immigration has nothing to do with reality--just check out Obama, Bush and Clinton's records. Trump is attacked about ICE and "beds" for violent criminals because he is. . . Trump. Otherwise, we'd have to assume Democrats love traffickers, rapists and murderers and want to return the southwest to Mexico.
"The most recent enforcement figures released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on December 30 [2016] offer the latest evidence of these trends. Eighty-five percent of all removals and returns during fiscal year (FY) 2016 were of noncitizens who had recently crossed the U.S. border unlawfully. Of the remainder, who were removed from the U.S. interior, more than 90 percent had been convicted of what DHS defines as serious crimes.
Border apprehensions and removals increased in FY 2016 compared to the prior year, DHS reported. In FY 2016, DHS carried out 530,250 apprehensions and 344,354 removals, compared to 462,388 apprehensions and 333,341 removals a year earlier. Despite the increase, these numbers were far lower than the peak of enforcement operations at the beginning of the Obama years, after he inherited a robust enforcement regime from his predecessors. These numbers dipped as new enforcement priorities were put in place, before rebounding slightly at the end of the Obama presidency. "

Deportation under Obama

“President Barack Obama has often been referred to by immigration groups as the "Deporter in Chief." (Aug. 29, 2016, ABC News) Between 2009 and 2015 his administration has removed more than 2.5 million people through immigration orders, which doesn’t include the number of people who "self-deported" or were turned away and/or returned to their home country at the border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
According to governmental data, the Obama administration has deported more people than any other president's administration in history.
In fact, they have deported more than the sum of all the presidents of the 20th century. “
Yet the country was full of marchers this week-end objecting to Trump?  You don’t really think this is about children, do you?

If you voted for Mrs. Clinton--WHY?

The issues important to voters between New York and LA in 2016 where Trump won were,
1) terrorism,
2) economy,
3) education,
4) jobs,
5) health care costs.

I have no idea what mattered to those voters on the left coast, but it appears,
1) Hillary is biologically a woman, although that matters in nothing else to the left,
2) abortion on demand especially for the poor and minorities,
3) raising minimum wage (4% of hourly employees) to keep the poor at the bottom longer,
4) illegal immigration to change the racial mix of the U.S.,
5) higher taxes and more regulations to strangle American small businesses so the big guys can hold them back and reduce competition.

If you voted for Mrs. Clinton, and I missed your reason(s), let me know. For a lot of people it was her name wasn't Trump. According to the polls additional concerns showed Republicans cared more about poverty and race relations than Democrats.

Obama's 8 years by Mike Huckabee

"The final numbers on the eight-year Obama economy are in, and they also constitute the final nails in that shoddily-made coffin. Fourth quarter GDP growth for 2016 clocked in at a feeble 1.9%. That means Obama officially earned an inglorious place in US presidential history by presiding over eight straight years of GDP growth below 3%.

Investors Business Daily crunched the final numbers, and they are grim. While Obama and his defenders strained their backs taking bows for “saving the economy” and creating millions of jobs, the best spin you can put on their efforts is that they were “below average.” Compared to average GDP growth across US history, GDP under Obama was $2.4 trillion less than average for any other eight-year period, which reflects $19,000 less income per household. It was also about a trillion dollars less than Obama’s own predictions. Yes, we all know the excuse: he took office following an economic crisis. But the recession officially ended just five months into his tenure. On average, 7-1/2 years after a recession ends, jobs have increased by 18%. Under Obama, they’d increased by only 10.9%, representing 12 million fewer jobs than average.

There’s a lot more at the link, but you get the idea. For eight years, we heard rosy predictions and lots of praise for Obama's policies, but those didn’t match the reality experienced by Americans who were struggling with stagnant wages and slow job growth. Obama's super-regulatory, big government policies were actually restraining growth. There were many reasons why Hillary Clinton lost to Trump, but this is probably the most important. By ignoring the voters’ #1 concern - jobs and the economy -- and thinking she could win via gender identity politics, calling her opponent names and promising to continue Obama’s allegedly “popular” policies that really weren't, she made the worst rookie mistake that any politician can make: she fell for her own propaganda."

Where was the outrage the last week of Obama's term?

During President Obama's final week in office, he did a lot that did not rile his supporters--like preparing the path for many very serious criminals (over a thousand) to be returned to the communities where they had caused chaos and grief. He OK'd millions of dollars to be sent to Palestinians to continue killing Jews and zero to Flint to fix the water system. But also he approved the killing of more than a hundred fundamentalist Muslims working with ISIS, and I don't know how many were wounded seriously, because the media doesn't report burns from exploding trucks and broken bones as bodies are tossed around or grieving families. Yet when President Trump temporarily blocks and asks for further checking for people in the countries (no killing, no pain except the wait) where Obama has been ordering bombing (seven ?), the left goes berserk without checking what's been going on. "That's not who we are," they wept. Yet Obama had us involved in more military conflicts than Bush. The reason these little people don't check is that they are puppets in a larger scheme to discredit anything Trump or the U.S. does. Marching orders. And the media are complicit.
"Granted, Mr. Obama is leaving far fewer soldiers in harm’s way — at least 4,087 in Iraq and 9,800 in Afghanistan — than the 200,000 troops he inherited from Mr. Bush in the two countries. But Mr. Obama has also approved strikes against terrorist groups in Libya, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen, for a total of seven countries where his administration has taken military action. (NYT, May 14, 2016)"
This month, President Barack Obama officially became the U.S. president to have been at war the longest — longer than Lyndon Johnson, longer than Abraham Lincoln and certainly longer than George W. Bush.
 http://dailycaller.com/2016/05/16/nobel-peace-prize-winning-obama-has-been-at-war-longer-than-any-other-american-president/#ixzz4XF9JHwAJ

A few people got caught in the government net of stopping immigrants, refugees and travelers from countries Obama had been bombing, but that will all be sorted out without the leftists storming airports, hiring judges and tying up traffic. That outrage is about Trump, but the same thing would have happened with a President Cruz or President Fiorina. They are much more fortunate than those Germans and Italians who were visiting relatives in the U.S. or were not yet citizens when the U.S. declared war on the Axis Powers in WWII on Dec. 11, 1941. They went to prison, some for the duration of the war.

Temperature to match 1954!

Today (and yesterday) in central Ohio we’re supposed to match the temperature records for 1954! I think it will be about 72, depending on where you are, and I hope to get out for several walks. We get our weather about a day after Illinois, so I’m thinking it was warm there too in November 1954. I was a sophomore in 1954 at Mt. Morris High School so I pulled out my school annual (white, padded cover, Mounder title in red, 1955) to see what was going on. Tina Kable would walk from her home on North Hannah, stop at my house on South Hannah, we’d walk up Main Street and pick up Kay Alter and Priscilla Drummond.

In the fall months we also stayed in touch the old fashioned way—through our school newspaper, The Hilltopper put out by the journalism class. By doing this group project they learned writing style, proofing for mistakes, how to paste-up pages, typing copy and running a mimeograph—probably not useful skills today, but teamwork is always important. I see names from Facebook like Bob Rawes, Donna Coddington, Ralph Dollinger. On a warm November day we’d all walk together after school on our way to Felker’s for a cherry coke searching for our names in the Hilltopper.

By November, the annual staff had already begun preparations of this book by getting advertisers, developing a theme, taking photos and planning the art work. I see some Facebook or email list members I recognize like Joyce Kinsley, Bob Rawes and Jerry Wallace. A promotional sign says the year book cost $2.75! That was a good buy—mine is 60 years old. There’s even a photo of my sister Carol (d. 1996) whose grandchildren are on Facebook so I can keep up with their activities.

I’m looking through the names of the varsity football team who played that fall and see a number of people on Facebook or local e-mail lists, some deceased (Jim Mongan, Phil Egan, Gerald Blake, Stan Messer, Don Satterfield, Pete Smith), and some who seemed to have dropped out of sight. The junior class that fall presented “One Foot in Heaven” on Friday, November 19. I see Bill Allenfort, who is still active in community theater getting a beard.

And there’s the student council learning the basics of representative democracy with cute freshman Carol Samsel and junior Murray Trout (deceased). The Council organized all the Homecoming activities, sponsored dances and provided the concession stand. They sent delegates to district and state conventions—sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

We did have professional lyceum speakers for assembly in those days, but also our in-house thespians provided entertainment. It was a big group—I see Jerry Wallace, Harold Hanke, Mike Balluff, Joyce Kinsley, Connie Frey, Sally Olsen, all of whom are on Facebook.

The fall of 1954. It was warm, and so are the memories.

Today is November 1 and it's 80 degrees

We'll be eating on the deck this evening. Baked chicken, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, and chocolate pie.  I was looking through some October 2009 blogs and found a photo of our almost completed sidewalk improvements that apparently our wealthy suburb got from the ARRA, Obama's stimulus to get the economy going again.  Of course, the recession was over in June 2009, and has been the slowest recovery ever, other than the Great Depression, which FDR managed to drag out for almost a decade through government interference in the economy.  Since my husband's surgery, we've been doing a lot of walking.  I don't like to do the hill shown in this photo, so I walk south to the church parking lot and circle around, and he continues to the north to the next corner.

Obama vs. Jefferson

Image result for Jefferson Obama same photo

When President Jefferson arranged for the Louisiana Purchase he assured the Nuns of the Order of St. Ursula that the principles of the Constitution and the government of the United States would be sacred and inviolate for them, and that they would be permitted to govern themselves according to their own voluntary rules without interference from the civil authority. He praised them for their wholesome purpose of training up the younger members in the way they should go, and that his office would protect them. "I salute you, holy sisters, with friendship and respect." Letter to Ursuline Nuns of New Orleans, July 13, 1804.

All Christian churches taught against contraception until about the 1930s, when one by one they followed the lead of the Anglicans. But the Catholic church has never wavered. President Obama knew that when he railroaded the ACA through Congress with no Republican support. It's too bad that President Obama, who has sued Little Sisters of the Poor for not violating their religious beliefs, can't assure 21st century nuns of the same protection of the Constitution and his office that President Jefferson did.

Obama's legacy--Cuba, Russia and Iran--all stronger

Paula Priesse writes: "Barack Obama didn’t feel the need to attend the funerals of Margaret Thatcher, Chris Kyle, Antonin Scalia or Nancy Reagan. Nor (unlike Michael Brown & Freddie Gray) did he send WH representatives to the funerals of police officers senselessly murdered, such as slain NYPD Officers Rafael Ramos & Wenjian Liu. And O didn’t have the time to march in solidarity with other world leaders in Paris after the Charlie Hebdo attack. But somehow he has found the time to play hundreds of rounds of golf, fill out his NCAA brackets for eight straight years and to pose in Cuba for the photo below. Perhaps someday America will once again have a president who believes in freedom. Because we sure as hell don’t have one now!"
Paula Priesse's photo.

"The truth about Che now has its boots on. He helped free Cubans from the repressive Batista regime, only to enslave them in a totalitarian police state worst than the last. He was Fidel Castro’s chief executioner, a mass-murderer who in theory could have commanded any number of Latin American death squads, from Peru’s Shining Path on the political left to Guatemala’s White Hand on the right."
