Robert C. Byrd waited years to say that his KKK membership was a mistake. Democrats loved him; named highways, mountains and parks after him. (Where are the demands to take his name down?) He was a good friend of the Clintons.  President Obama waited six years to even hint that the Ft. Hood massacre was terrorism, and even then he never clearly stated it. Loretta Lynch has never fessed up to the tarmac tango with Bill--we're still waiting. Donald Trump waits 24 hours to name KKK after his original condemnation as just one of the hate groups (Antifa was there too but they are ignored by media), and Democrats, media and never Trumpers go berserk

Bernie the Socialist bombs on 20th century history

I don't know why Bernie Sanders was talking about Hitler winning an election, but he was wrong, and his followers were retweeting his misinformation. I suspect as a socialist he was trying to avoid any connection with the Nazis (National Socialism) and wanted to pin that label on conservatives.

Nazis were all for government control; they were statists. They killed and imprisoned their own citizens, as did the Communists in the USSR. No Republican administration or Tea Party or libertarian group in the U.S. have done that, but Democrats have. Hillary Clinton has made up new lies about women, based on nothing but her desire to crawl out from under her email server which has collapsed on her. Why can't these candidates tell the truth?

Only the names are different

This morning at Metro Fitness I was chatting with the man at the next machine.  He thinks the Iran deal is just fine and he plans to vote for Hillary Clinton.

From Dennis Prager's column this week:

70 years ago. Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated by the Red Army of the Soviet Union. There aren't many survivors left--and most were children then. And there aren't a lot of us left who knew the survivors when we were growing up and listened to their stories. Some were victims of Soviet oppression in the Baltic states; others of the Nazis. Many churches were still resettling people in the 1950s. I went to college with young adults who were children rescued by American soldiers and later immigrated to the U.S. My husband's college roommate was an Italian war orphan. Mine was an escapee from Communist China.

In the early 1980s I became friends with a woman from Bexley (Columbus suburb) whose husband, although born in the U.S., was a child of his parents' second marriage. Both had been married and each had 3 or 4 children in the 1930s, but lost spouse and children in the Nazi concentration camps. After liberation they met each other in a camp and married, came as refugees to the U.S., started a second family for both, and had 4 more children. We are so fortunate to have this type of strength and faith as our foundation for American citizenship.

It helped me to understand how those camps could be so close to the towns (or in the case of Flossenbürg, in the town) and the towns people 'didn't notice them'. Intimidation and fear work wonders to keep people blind, justifying and silent. It could happen anywhere. Tennessee Democrat stands by Nazi remarks

So much for the Democrats lowering the volume and being more civil. Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) has used the N-word, Nazi, to describe Republicans' repeal of the health care fiasco, and by implication, all of us who thought it was terrible that it got passed before it was read. All of us who went to the polls in November and exercised our right to vote to change it.

Mr. Cohen, shame on you! You guys railroad this disaster through, admit you haven't read it and have no idea what it will cost in the long run, and then call the victims of your plot, Nazis (national socialists). Now if some demented, apolitical man fires a gun into a crowd or drives his car into the window of a fast food restaurant, or flies his plane into a government building, we'll know who to blame.

But he was taken out of context? Sounds like he's called us Nazis to me.

According to Glenn Beck (and biographers), Goebbels got his methods from Edward Bernays, The father of Spin, who later changed the word "propaganda" to "public relations."
