Democrat billionaires seek a one party country

It worked well for Nazi Germany—the government controlled the country’s wealth.  Now Democrats want a similar arrangement, but want to control the government.

I remember watching on TV the moaning and groaning of the Democrats after they lost the 2004 election. They decided they needed to be more values oriented and touch the hearts and souls of the voter (with lies, apparently). Here's one of the outcomes of that soul searching--a powerful leftist organization of millionaires--Democracy Alliance. What better way to make more money than to take over the government?

"The political landscape in America is much different than it was ...in 2005 when the nine-year-old Democracy Alliance was founded. The secretive club for radical millionaires and billionaires who want to turn America into Greece was founded soon after John Kerry’s unexpected defeat in the 2004 presidential election. The outlook for the Left was bleak at that time but no longer. The Left has regained its footing and is on the march, determined to dismantle the First Amendment and reorder society through Obamacare, a wealth redistribution scheme disguised as health care policy. The Democracy Alliance, once determined to remain separate from the Democratic Party, is more partisan than it has ever been as its seeks to expand left-wing political infrastructure across the country."

“The new breed of rich and frustrated leftists” saw themselves as oppressed both by “a Republican conspiracy” and “by their own party and its insipid Washington establishment,” wrote journalist Matt Bai.

Organizing for Action (formerly known as Organizing for America), the 501(c)(4) nonprofit group into which the last Obama campaign transformed itself, is intricately enmeshed in the Democracy Alliance network. In other words, Obama and the Democracy Alliance are sharing the same blood line.

A tower of champagne bottles

Wonder how many poor children 800 bottles of $350 champagne could have fed?  Oh well, they were probably just poor black children—the ones who got away from the abortion clinics.

The Middle East is going up in flames, and like Nero Obama grins and laughs while celebs pay the bills.  He pulled in $6 million at Jay-Z’s event.  How many campaign events since 9/11 when the middle east riots started?

Campaign 2012 snippets

Alan Dershowitz predicted on 9/11 that President Obama’s apparent snub of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will put the critical swing state of Florida [large Jewish vote] at “substantial risk” in the November election.

************

What voter fraud? Wendy W. Rosen, the Democrats' hand-picked candidate in Maryland’s 1st Congressional District, was forced to drop out of her race on September 10 after she admitted to illegally voting in both Maryland and Florida in 2006 and 2008. Tampa Bay Times

************

"For those of us who were counting, in his coronation speech, Obama, the consummate narcissist, said "I" (not in reference but in credit to himself) 55 times and "we" (that's the socialist collective "we" not as in "We, the people...") 75 times. Moreover, in the 40-page Demo platform, Obama is cited on 38 pages more than 200 times. By way of comparison, the 2012 GOP platform makes reference to Mitt Romney once." Mark Alexander, Patriot Post.

************

More middle east cities in flames, our "free press" journalists caught off mic spinning the news to make Romney look bad, Hillary and some obscure Florida preacher being blamed, and Obama is off campaigning. Did I get that right? Oh, and apparently our ambassador was raped/sodomized by his captors before he was killed. Shouldn't the president stick a little closer to the White House and just float on his own stupendous record rather than campaign? None of his followers will leave him.  This is making him look really, really bad. Unprepared. Unrepentant. Unpresidential.

***********

The other night, before the middle east went up in flames on phony film charges, Glenn Beck had 3 people on his internet TV show talking about security of the American people. I think it was a 9/11 special. He asked, "What is the greatest threat to our security today?" One said, warrantless wire taps, one said the Patriot Act, and the third said, infiltration of our government by the Muslim Brotherhood. Given recent events, I'd choose door #3. I think his name was Patrick Poole, but I'm not sure.

Last night we attended the Upper Arlington GOP gathering at the Greek St. restaurant in Kingsdale--learned 2 things--local candidates are awesome and this is a great place to eat. Mostly women candidates--one an immigrant, one had enlisted in the military when she was 17 later became a lawyer and is running for judge. Another, Stephanie Kunze, is the daughter-in-law of our good friends Wes and Sue. Even if you're sick of the national scene and aren't happy with your party's choice, look around for where you can help a local candidate.

Spending in the name of Obama

It's amazing how many advertisers are using Obama's name to hawk their product. Reminds me of the Dr. Oz, Oprah, and Rachel Ray ads which traffic in their names without permission. I've seen ads like
"President Obama wants you to go back to school"

"President Obama wants you to have a new car"

"President Obama wants you to save your home"

and this one by an American whose eyes were opened by his schooling in Iran selling his gaming technology,

"This unique approach is the embodiment of “e-diplomacy,” and reflects the new “soft diplomacy” approach favored by the Obama Administration."
But here's one I saw in my e-mail this morning that should really be an eye-opener for fund raising if he tells the truth:
For those of you who want to learn the secrets of the Obama Campaign's online fundraising success and how you can apply them at your college or university, there will be a live, 60-minute Webinar:

"Fundraising Secrets from the Obama Campaign Your College Can Use Now"
    Wednesday, September 16, 2009 1:00 - 2:00 PM (ET) . . .

Before joining the Obama campaign in Chicago, Steve managed online organizing at the Center for American Progress [Clinton retreads now in Obama Camp which became leading war room for escalation in Afghanistan], where he built support for progressive [i.e. socialist/marxist] positions on issues ranging from alternative fuels to ending the war in Iraq. Steve has also managed online operations for the Children's Defense Fund and American University's College of Arts and Sciences.
Somewhere I read (and blogged) about that cottage industry of loyal compaign worker bees at their computers and the pittance the people received who worked in that e-campaign.

Campaign contributions by AIG

I haven't checked the sources, but noticed this on Newsmax about other "bonuses" received by politicians
". . . the $101,332 that the Obama campaign received [from AIG] was larger than the amount AIG donated to any other candidate except Sen. Chris Dodd, according to Opensecrets.org.

Newsmax reported on Tuesday that the Connecticut Democrat, who received $103,100 from AIG, inserted language in the $787 billion stimulus bill that allowed all bonuses awarded before February 11, 2009, to be paid to AIG executives.

AIG contributed to 18 Democratic members of the Senate in the last election cycle, including Hillary Clinton ($35,965) and Joe Biden ($19,975), and 34 Democratic House candidates.

The insurance firm also contributed $59,499 to the Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain ($59,499), 14 other GOP senators and 21 Republican House candidates."
Rather than say this is bogus because Newsmax reports it, check it out. Lobbying and earmarks matter, dear fellow taxpayers, no matter which party is the recipient. But some parties, i.e., a certain party, tries to claim a holier than thou stance in that stall. So yesterday's hearings, another waste of taxpayers' dollars, could have been avoided if Chris Dodd had just been honest about why the bonuses were left in place for the bailout agreement. Next to The Barn (Barney Frank) and The Tax Cheat (Geithner), Dodd is looking like the Dopiest of the Dems.

Even so, I'm far more worried about Obama's indebtedness to George Soros and ACORN than to AIG.

White House for Sale

is an interesting web site. You can't track all the money donated to Obama, but you can see a lot of it. McCain's would be a little more straight forward since he didn't weasel out on the campaign funding agreement. Both the bundlers and the mega-donors. Pick anyone at random who's made a hefty donation and google his name (often husband and wife for double the mega-bucks). For instance this guy
Nasser A. Ahmad is chief investment officer and managing partner of DiMaio Ahmad Capital L.L.C. Prior to co-founding the Investment Manager, Mr. Ahmad was previously a managing director of CS Capital, the chief investment officer for the Diversified Credit Hedge Fund Group Prior to that, he was co-head of Global Cash and Derivatives Credit Trading within the Fixed Income Division at CS. Merril Lynch has minority stake in DiMaio Ahmad Capital. Originally, according to Fundrace and Campaign Money websites, Ahmad was covering his bases with an event for Asian Americans for Obama which required $28,500 a piece or $50,000 per couple. He and wife(?) were co-chairs for a Biden event ($50,000). He's been a featured speaker on a summit on Pakistan. That speaker's bio added a bit more:

Mr. Ahmad is on the boards of Breakthrough for Human Rights (a human rights, economic empowerment, environmental
sustainability and political stability organization (new media) which glancing through the report seems to help women in India) and the Soros Economic Development Fund. He is also a board member of the South Asian Action Forum (SAAF), a Political Action Committee (PAC) consisting of community and business leaders that promotes a progressive policy platform with key rising and established U.S. policymakers to which he donated $3,000 according to Fundrace. I assume that also when to Obama.

In 2008, Mr. Ahmad joined the National Finance Committee (NFC) of Senator Obama’s presidential campaign and was appointed co-chair of the Asian American Finance committee.
Isn't it interesting that I select a name at random and he turns out to be on the board of George Soros organization.

The Obama Money Machine--Where's it coming from, where is it going?

African Americans were asking this question even before he was the chosen one. Video of Cornel West at Tavis Smiley Presents.

Comments at "The Empire and Inequality Report" via Black Agenda Reports, where it was noted that when he doodled waiting to give his speech, he drew a picture of himself.
Obama's power-worshipping campaign book The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream (2006) - the book to which Obama refers reporters asking him for policy specifics behind his often vague statements - refers to the United States' rapacious, savagely unequal and fundamentally "materialist" capitalist economy as the nation's "greatest asset."

Audacity absurdly praises the "American system of social organization" and "business culture" on the grounds that U.S. capitalism "has encouraged constant innovation, individual initiative and efficient allocation of resources" (8). It commends "the need to raise money from economic elites to finance elections" for "prevent[ing] Democrats...from straying too far from the center" and for marginalizing "those within the Democratic Party who tend toward zealotry" and "radical ideas" (like peace and justice). It praises fellow centrist Senator and presidential rival Hillary Clinton (D-NY) for embracing "the virtues of capitalism" (9) and applauds her "recognizably progressive" husband Bill Clinton for showing that "markets and fiscal discipline" and "personal responsibility [are] needed to combat poverty" (10) - an interesting reflection on the militantly corporate-neoliberal Clinton administration's efforts to increase poverty by eliminating poor families' entitlement to public cash assistance and privileging deficit reduction over social spending.

Obama's badly mis-titled book audaciously lectures poor people on their "duty" to feel "empathy" for wealthy oppressors (12) - including Bush and Cheney, who are "pretty much like everyone else"(13) - and on their need to understood how well off and "free" they are compared to their more truly miserable counterparts in Africa and Latin America (14). It deletes less favorable contrasts with Western Europe and Japan, the most relevant comparisons, where dominant norms and institutional arrangements produce significantly slighter levels of poverty and inequality than what is found in the hierarchical U.S (15).
Paul Street's article appears in Black Agenda Report --I couldn't get the link to the notes to work, put I've left in the numbers. You know how librarians swoon over bibliographies.
