I will try to resist

Today is my turn to volunteer at the lunch room at the UA Senior Center. They have great food, deliciously prepared, lovingly dispensed (by me and Harold), and quite tempting. I'm going to keep that picture of my turnip greens in my mind's eye, and try to resist the corn chips and desserts. My goal--my red jeans will fit again.
If not by Christmas, maybe Valentine's Day.

Lordy, I wish I looked that good in red jeans. I have forgone buying a pair for years because of my weight. Since my doctor said, "either you lose weight" or you will fill the glucose meter prescription and begin sticking yourself at least three times a day. I decided to hang the prescription on the refrigerator door and began a low sugar, low carb diet. No one special's plan. Just adjusting what I consume in my waking hours. It has worked fairly well and I have dumped 24 lbs in the last year but I have twice that to go yet. So far she hasn't ordered me to get the meter.

I guess I need to buy those red jeans in the size 16 I was in high school and hang them on the refrigerator door too.
