Mamdani tries to make NYC Venezuela

"Mamdani has only been in office a few days and each day it gets much worse as he announces his appointments. They are all far left radicals who will destroy the city. Their policies are socialist to communist and anti-capitalist and anti- landlord. The result will be a much worse education for poor kids and a far worse rental apartment situation. No developer is going to want to start a new multi project. Dealing with evictions has just become totally impossible. Schools will experience a downgrade in education in the name of diversity. The homeless will begin to reappear in parks and on the streets in spring. Tisch as police commissioner is all that prevents crime from going way up again, and we will see how long she lasts. Now Mamdani has lashed out at Trump for arresting Maduro. That is right out of the Socialist manifesto. He already is virulently anti-Israel. He knows nothing of how to run the city but suddenly he thinks he knows about geopolitics. He is dangerous because now he has a bullhorn and will be read and followed on social media. We can expect much more of that. He abolished the Adams committees and definition of anti-Semitism. His father is a rabid outspoken anti-Semite who actually is a professor at Columbia-where else. This is going to bad or worse than we all expected."

So true about Mamdani's parents. All bad ideas come from academe, and it's probably worse when they are Communists who flee from India via Uganda.

The importance of education to fight Communism

How important is K-12 education? Very. Extremely. Critical. We've got citizens under the age of 40 who didn't live during or learn about the Cold War and never learned about Communism, or the 100,000,000 citizens of Europe and Asia who were killed by their own socialist governments. Symbolically the Iron Curtain fell in November 1989. Thirty-six years ago.  We've got 3 generations who had DEI/multiculturalism/gender confusion stuffed down their throats. They are now educated to be stupid and ignorant and voted for a Communist Islamist in more than one "blue" city. There are not enough homeschooling parents or Charlie Kirks to match the power of the leftist teachers' unions and funding by Soros.

The under 40 products of the schools don't see one of the major parties of the U.S. going under and drowning in lies because they have never learned the truth about Marxism. They wave their tiny, itsy bitsy American flags and salivate over words like Democracy and Justice, and yet have no understanding, no learning, no wisdom and no experience.

Gracious, did you hear the latest insanity of Nancy Pelosi. Sure, she's old and maybe demented, but I think she's also addled by Trump hatred. They blather on about Nazism and Hitler and don't realize those are socialist roots. That's why it's called National Socialism, aka Nazi. They scream about intifada and Palestine while we (sensible, conservative, wise) were naive enough to believe anti-Semitism in the U.S. had died with the KKK and Jim Crow, other scourges rooted in the Democrat party. Communists, thugs and radical Muslims have taken over the Democrat Party

Why are Obama and Politico defending or endorsing Democrat Jay Jones? Saying "sorry" just doesn't cut it when he fantasized about killing his opponent's children. Yes, he should be sorry, should apologize and should never, ever run for public office. And shame on Politico. Mentions the scandal but doesn't say what it is. "Jones fantasized about shooting Todd Gilbert, the Republican who was then-speaker of the Virginia house; talked of pissing on the graves of Republican officeholders if they predeceased him; and expressed his belief that Republicans would only change their views if they experienced personal pain, and allegedly gave as an example the wife of Todd Gilbert watching her child die in her arms.

Rather than slinking away somewhere upon the revelation of these disqualifying messages, Jones responded with defiant misdirection.

No, "all people" don't fanaticize about killing children or pissing on graves. What a ghoul. A disgrace to his party. Virginia Democrats should be ashamed, as should NYC Democrats and Democrats all over the country be ashamed of running a Communist as Mayor of the so-called premier city. Democrats are afraid of their Leftist base (aka foundation) and Muslims. Fear has driven them to cowardness. They can't even kick these guys out, they only know how to gaslight and lie. 

Communism has never been successful

Communists like Zohran Mamdani of NY believe the basic Marxist lie: wealth is stolen from the poor and his supporters are victims. The Marxist lie of the last 50 years has moved from worker to race: white man bad. The shift allows for more victims, since the ethnic Europeans are vastly outnumbered. Making the victims intersectional, only adds to the millions they've conned. Although if you've noticed, Mamdani is white and wealthy. He had a huge elaborate wedding (don't know the sex) back in his home country of Uganda from which his parents had to flee so he could grow up a rich kid in the U.S. His lies and those of Bernie, Pelosi, AOC and others, only work on the ignorant and those who've forgotten the 100,000,000 killed in the 20th century by his Marxist lies. For all its faults, free market capitalism has liberated more people from poverty than any other system. The middle class in the U.S. isn't disappearing--they've moved up. "Between 1820 and 2015, extreme poverty plummeted from 90% to 10% globally in that span. This statistic is one of the greatest accomplishments of mankind and should be celebrated as such."

Another tenet of Communism in addition to victimhood, is destruction of the family. This is one they work hard on through social media, entertainment industry, school system. Loyalty must be to the government, not God.

Communists like Mamdani and his colleagues called Democrats, Socialists and Progressives lie, cheat, steal the wealth of others, maim and enslave, as seen with our border crises, for their own gain. Those of you old enough to remember Stalin, it's the same lie with some definition changes. Their attraction is to the uneducated and the over educated at our universities.

Zohran Mamdani is such a hypocrite--but what else could a communist be?

He's whiter and far more rich than I am, yet he preaches envy, and hate toward whites who are ethnically European, immigrants who fled socialism and succeeded with capitalism. He makes Tik Tok videos to be consumed by a generation who can't read, understand history or figure out biology, and he was voted in by rich, white liberals still feeling cheated by the Harris and Biden dog and pony show. Democrats have a lot on their plate, and they'd better stop the TDS hate and get busy tending business in their own party.

Have a thoughtful Memorial Day observance

Testimony wrapped up this week, and closing arguments are scheduled following the holiday.

Judge Juan Merchan, the worst in our history, sent the jury home to stew in the hate and threats in NYC they'll receive for several days if any one of them dares to follow the evidence and the "charge" (which we still don't know) and find Trump innocent of the non-crime. If the Democrats can destroy due process against a former president, they can do it to YOU.

Makes the sacrifices of all the wars and all our lost soldiers look futile, doesn't it?

Democrats are trying to get rid of Alito so they can hire a compliant stooge for the court. Wouldn't surprise me if that's what Merchan is going for.

New York's immigration crisis

On January 8, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported that 378,504 people have arrived in Egypt since the war in Sudan began in April 2023. Some are legal, but most illegal, and all need humanitarian aid. Now compare that to New York City, which has received about 100,000 illegal immigrants through the U.S. Southern border. We have a functioning government both in New York and in Washington DC. We have the "brightest and best" elites a blue state can offer, with many well-heeled New Yorkers and local churches contributing food, and others complaining and whining that southern governors have caused the problem. It's Congress' responsibility to set immigration law. But the President needs to see that our borders are not overrun with an invasion.

Perhaps this is a charity that can help save NYC

New York City, spends $28,000 per student -- half-a-million dollars per classroom! Private charities step up to the challenge to send kids to charter schools. John Stossel features Student Sponsor Partners, or SSP, a nonprofit that helps low-income students go to Catholic schools.  Not only scholarship money, but mentorship.

Jeniffer Gutierrez, a parent in the Bronx, was ecstatic to get SSP's acceptance letter. "I cried so hard when I received that letter because I knew it was an opportunity for my son. ... High schools in the Bronx are violent. There's no discipline. There's no education."

Democrats target Trump again

While I'm sort of enjoying not listening to the House (Democrat controlled) Daily Drool over investigations of Trump to beef up their campaign funds and pay the investors of the MSM, they are working on the next one. It was all Trump's fault.

Apparently, they haven't looked at CDC national death statistics for all causes, especially flu and pneumonia taking out the elderly, or the number from coronavirus (not published, but it won't make the top 10 unless it's changed to "with" and not "of"). Why not take advantage of a crisis to 1) kill the Trump 2020 campaign and 2) destroy small businesses that employ 99% of us by extending the shut down. They've still got their mega-corporate cronies like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos who fund their favorite projects. The original shut down was to save the hospitals from being overwhelmed. That didn't happen, but Democrats want to continue with what didn't work.

Number of deaths for leading causes of death (2018) and since many of these conditions are chronic and treatable, these numbers could soar from lack of treatment during the shut down of Spring 2020.

But they want US to forget that most of the Covid19 infections came from the European air travelers who were infected by Europe's traffic from China. European leaders didn't want to be "racist" (or lose a lot of investments) by closing down air travel. But Trump acted swiftly. He closed air travel before the first death in a nursing home in Washington. So we can thank Mayor De Blasio and Governor Cuomo for seeding the rest of the country, because NYC was still "open" in March. "Y'all come and take home a souvenir! Ride our filthy subway!"

Since they are Congressional Democrats, they only know how to run impeachment scams. That's all we've seen of their work since January 2017. And there are plenty of Republicans who will be invited to say insulting things in opinion columns, none of which will have anything to do with the baseless charges. They just don't like him, and fear losing their own base, whether that's in Congress, academe, their business, or their church.

Misreporting, not reporting, and fudging the Corona virus statistics

That's interesting. There were 13,276 diagnosed Covid19 cases in Ohio by April 22. "Not everyone who is diagnosed is being admitted to the hospital, about 25 percent are." Stephen Markovich, President and CEO, Ohio Health, "Caretaker in Chief," Columbus CEO, May 2020, pp. 8-13. When you hear the number of cases reported on the news or on social media, have you ever heard that? 75% don't get admitted?

We have four enormous hospital systems in Columbus: Ohio Health, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Mount Carmel Health System and Nationwide Children's Hospital. In March the CEOs of these behemoths were even considering turning our Greater Columbus Convention Center into a field hospital. That was the size of the panic, fear and inaccurate models. But as of yesterday during the entire pandemic there have been less than 3,000 confirmed cases in this county (the majority of which didn't required hospitalization), and only about 3,800 hospitalized in the entire state! We're a state of 11.75 million with a number of major cities.

Why are we judging the entire country and its needs by what happened in the New York metropolitan area with a Democrat governor who kept inviting people to come and ignore the fear even on March 2? There was an Italian film playing at Lincoln Center. He urged people to see it. In a month NYC was the epicenter of the pandemic and the rest of us have had to suffer from his carelessness.

Constant anti-Trump drumbeat

I am so sick of the anti-Trump drivel in every media source--this in "Architect," which awards issue (336 pp) is the size of the old Penney's Christmas catalog. President Obama was known as the "deporter in chief," turning back hundreds of thousands of illegals, and the so-called child cage photos were from his administration. Only because he was dealing with fewer illegals crossing the border has Trump passed Obama on numbers and Soros funded non-profits are assisting with the onslaught. Why is it journalists in all media are all progressives? Why is it "anti-immigrant" to protect our sovereignty which is the #1 job of a President?

Author Jacobs brings up his grandmother, a Polish immigrant, who opened a Kosher restaurant in Hoboken to first drum up sympathy with readers, but of course, there weren't 22 million illegal Poles storming our borders after WWII, were there Mr. Jacobs? "Make the Road New York" is an immigrant rights group and it has a building designed and out sourced to a Mexican firm hired while Obama was president (I suppose there are jobs American architects won't do in a struggling economy?). I'm betting there are walls, doors and locks in this building.

The Right to Fail—PBS

Pro-Publica and Frontline reporting on moving high functioning mentally ill people out of managed homes to supportive “independent” living. The reporter Joaquin Sapien  focuses on Nestor Bunch who at 52 was living on his own for the first time. He was in and out of supported housing, hospital, had roommates, and a 4 hour a day aide.

The complexity of care—and caring—really surprised me.  The reporter had access to boxes of medical records.  Everything was recorded—successes, failures, medications, roommates.

I’ve seen a lot of criticism from Democrats of Ronald Reagan when he was governor of California for signing the law that closed the institutions for the mentally ill, and they say, no accuse, that he is the reason for California’s terrible homeless problem.  However, it was an idea about “rights” for the mentally ill that came from academics.  So I was shocked to see the same reasoning still applies today, as NYC tries to reduce its population of seriously mentally ill from protective, and even locked, housing for many adults, and turn them lose in the name of “right to fail.”

None of the people in this film appear to be “high functioning” to me, however, I don’t know to whom they are compared. They are desperate, lonely,  afraid, wandering the streets, getting into fights, eating poorly, with no socialization. Nestor Bunch was one of the fortunates in that a friend of his deceased mother still cared and looked out for him through the machinations of the huge bureaucracy.

“People with severe mental illness can be difficult to track: some wind up on the street or in psychiatric hospitals; phone numbers often change. After a series of dead ends, I was elated when I found Bunch — until I realized he could not reliably narrate his own life. As he jumbled the timeline of his addresses and experiences, it became clear he had a traumatic story to tell. It involved finding his first roommate naked and dead, landing in the hospital with a serious injury and being sent to the trash-strewed apartment of another roommate who died.”

Play by the rules and get punished

When you receive your paycheck and look at the withholding for federal, state and sometimes city taxes, along with Social Security and Medicare, you probably don't think you're underpaying governments and want them to take more. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio believes that if you have played by what used to be called "the rules" and are making a decent living, taking care of yourself and your family and not relying on government, your taxes should be increased.

Elect Trump to get a vigilant press

Every day I glance through the Washington Post political stories. If there are eight about the campaign, seven will be anti-Trump, with no attempt to even hide it. But yesterday's beats all. Moaning and weeping that the mainstream media are perceived as biased, liberal and elitist. And it's all the fault of the mean old GOP of 40 years ago. Agnew and Nixon.

I watched a montage of Obama reporting "lone wolf" for many of the attacks on Americans by disaffected Muslims yesterday. This is probably the most common, liberal view, and heavily promoted by the media. The latest guy who planted bombs in New York and New Jersey--Ahmad Khan Rahami--well, I swing back and forth for him. Yes, he had a long running feud (many years) with the city over the family's "American fried" chicken restaurant, so perhaps he just had a grudge. But then he also had several trips back to Afghanistan and Pakistan and a lot of suspicious behavior and personal changes in lifestyle. Lots of dysfunctional family behavior, as well as being a dead beat dad. And he was outspoken about gays, which is why Chelsea area was targeted.  If the media says much about the gay connection, we know how that will be spun, and it won't be how homosexuality is a crime in Muslim countries.

Although I hadn't intended to watch Trump's Florida speech yesterday, I postponed fixing dinner to sit down and watch it. He was amazing. The audience was huge, but respectful and attentive. Then this morning I caught a brief clip of him and Clinton both mentioning the NYC bomber (the latest one)--I think hers was a press conference or speech to an empty parking lot. I could see that his very weakest, throw away line and her strongest were juxtaposed. It's not that I don't realize how every word and phrase are spun, but I do know, if Trump is elected, we will again have a vigilant, adversarial press to be our watchdog, as it should be. If Clinton is elected, we'll never know anything.

Hillary was speaking at an airport on Sunday in the same zombie voice and blaming Donald Trump for recruitment of terrorists. She stated it as fact. Again, his off the cuff words are more important than her carefully planned actions which helped create ISIS and the explosive situation in Syria from her days as Secretary of State. She even said she has "contributed to acts" and current strategy. Not a good recommendation. Stop when you're ahead, lady.  Trump has done nothing to create ISIS. I hope his ad writers are using her own words. After the 9/11/2012 Benghazi attack, Glenn Beck was scribbling all over his black board with maps on how guns were being moved to Syria to help the rebels (which didn't turn out well). But who listened to him? It's now been confirmed many times what she was doing, and that she lied under oath. Others go to jail for much less.
 
We don't have the details yet on the motivation of the young man who slashed people in the St. Cloud, Minnesota Mall, first asking his victims if they were Muslims. The New York and New Jersey bombings sort of pushed that to the back burner. We know ISIS has claimed him as one of their own, whether or not they trained him. But you can almost envision the headlines, "Off duty cop kills young black college student." All would be true, but without the rest of the story, which we seldom get with the hate stories about police, our media are contributing. I wish this young man really understood the terrible deeds going on within his country of birth, Somalia, where the killing isn't ethnic, isn't religious, but just about power and greed. The very movement he joined in a free country where every opportunity to live peacefully was available to him.

Donald Trump has a new voter

Harry writes:  "Sitting at a stop-light, I was rear-ended last night on Bruckner Boulevard by a beat-up old Toyota going about 15 mph. No damage to my crash-resistant rear bumper, but whiplash to my neck. I got out of the car to confront the driver of the other car, and discovered it had no license plates, and there were four Mexican occupants (speaking Mexican Spanish). I asked for his drivers' license and insurance five times. No response. He sat in his car, looking terrified. Finally, one of the other occupants got out of the car, and offered me $5 cash for my troubles. I could have called 911 for the cops, but this is Deblasio's New York. I thanked the Mexican offering me the cash for his generosity, rejected his donation, and drove off. My neck aches, and Donald Trump has another voter."

One percenters are living in public housing

I don’t know why this story is making the news (saw it on Fox) 10 months after it was published, but many very wealthy people are living in public housing at a much reduced rate—paid for by local and federal taxes. Some living in LA and NYC have incomes as high as $500,000.

“Of these 25,226 families [in public housing], 17,761 had earned more than the qualifying amount for more than 1 year. HUD regulations require families to meet eligibility income limits only when they are admitted to the public housing program." 

Well, gosh, in 1990, we earned more than we did in 1960, too. In fact, we’d paid off the mortgage on two homes. I wonder why this was never taken into consideration?

More misinformation on TV tonight

We're still hearing twisted statistics about cops killing blacks. (Just watched the Ferguson story on CBS.) People want any unfortunate killings to reflect percent of population, but black males between the ages of 14 and 17 commit homicide at 10x the rate of white and Hispanic youths. Obviously, they will encounter police more often as the police protect people.

In New York City blacks are 23% of the population but commit 75% of all shootings, 70% of all robberies and 66% of all violent crime. Whites are 33% of the population but commit fewer than 2% of all shootings, 4% of all robberies and 5% of all violent crime. This means when police are called out on a gun run, the chances are they will encounter black men looking for trouble. 

The anti-cop campaign of the last 2 years puts police in danger and also the people they are supposed to protect. Crime fell dramatically the last 20 years, now it's creeping back up as the number of police killed in shootings doubled in 2016. The chance of a police officer being killed by a black is 18.5x higher than the chance of an unarmed black getting killed by a cop.
