September 30 was the 40th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment which is estimated to have saved 2 million lives. You probably didn't see anything on the news because our media are controlled by forces that don't care about life issues. The Democratic Party’s platform promises to repeal of the Hyde Amendment because it “impede[s] a woman’s access to abortion.” It also promises to continuing funding Planned Parenthood, the country's largest abortion provider that receives half a billion in our tax dollars which are then laundered to payback various members of Congress during their campaigns. Hillary Clinton is also in favor of moving backward on Hyde. Vice-Presidential nominee Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia, who is "I'm a Catholic, but" has said he will subordinate his support for Hyde to Clinton’s agenda against it if their ticket wins in November.
If Hillary doesn't win, I guess Kaine continues to support Hyde to save his own political hide. Before the DNC convention, ""My voting position on abortion hasn't really changed," Kaine said in the interview aired Sunday. "I support the Hyde Amendment. I haven't changed that."
Then NARAL and Hillary's campaign manager came after him, and Woot! he changed his moral values concerning life. And don't clutter my comments window with stories of Trump's flip flops. We all know that, and we also know no one elected him to anything in the past based on his promises and religious convictions. We know Hillary has flip flopped in order to get elected and lied about even very small things. She can't resist a lie if it looks good on her.

The debate is tonight, Trump and Clinton
With help from his thirty four Catholic advisers, Donald Trump has identified the following areas which are of special concern:
As you watch a very scripted and determined Hillary Clinton in the debate tonight, don't forget about her Vice President selection who is even more careless about the jihadi threat than either our president or his running mate. As Hillary met with Netanyahu yesterday her colleague Tim Kaine gives cover for jihadis and may be the most anti-Israel elected official we have. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/07/clintons_vp_pick_kaine_promoting_jidhadis_in_america_in_exchange_for_cash.html
- Religious Liberty,
- Pro-life, Judicial Nominations,
- Education,
- Healthcare,
- Jobs and Taxation, and
- Safety and Security.
"I am and will remain pro-life. Public funding of abortion providers is an insult to people of faith at the least, and is an affront to good government and governance, at best. I will work to support the dignity of human life from conception to natural, dignified death." Contrast this to Clinton's pro-choice stance, where a baby is vulnerable to a violent death at any point during its life in the womb. This morning I watched one of Hillary's "I fight for all children" and "all children should grow up to reach their potential" political ads. It's enough to make you gag if you know her record on abortion, Planned Parenthood, and her very selective concern. Some children are not worthy of the opportunity to reach their potential; many of them are black, disabled, or conceived outside of marriage. 42% of all abortions in New York City are for black women, and abortions outnumber live births for blacks in that city.
"Catholic education is a shining example of how education can work very well on the local level without the meddling of Washington bureaucrats. I will defend the religious liberty of Catholic schools, private schools, charter schools, and homeschooling families. I will be the biggest cheerleader for school choice programs so we can give every child in America, particularly disadvantaged African American and Hispanic American children trapped in failing government run schools, the best possible educational opportunities. I will end Common Core and will get the federal government out of the public education business."

Tim Kaine needs to review history
The "I'm Catholic but" candidate for the vice presidency seems to think white Americans need to repent for the years of slavery. Let's look at that.
Slavery was an economic fact of life for centuries all over the world. Europeans were highly prized slaves in northern Africa. The Englishman who wrote "Amazing Grace" spent years as a slave. Slavery was imported to the colonies by the Spanish, Portuguese, English and Dutch, who bought them from Arabs who bought them from tribal chiefs within the African interior. How far back does Kaine wish to go? The U.S.A. went to war to stop it. You can say all you want about states' rights and other economic reasons, but it was slavery; says so in the cessation documents that created the Confederacy.
Slavery exists today in larger numbers than in the 18th century. There are African children working in mines so you can talk on your cell phone and set up illegal servers in homes of politicians. There are Asian children, boys and girls, trafficked on the streets by their pimps in tourist areas. Also, millions of Americans are descended from immigrants who came after slavery ended, and millions of others are descended from blacks who owned slaves at a higher rate than whites, particularly in the south.
If we need to repent, Democrats can say a few words about their terrorist arm the KKK and how Democrat Congressmen even in my life time were members of the KKK. Democrats can repent of how they institutionalized Jim Crow laws to hold blacks down after the Civil War, and how they now use abortion and welfare to achieve the same goals. Yes, Democrats could repent of legalizing abortion and including it in their political platform for the last 2 decades, killing a disproportionate number of black babies.

What if Wasserman Schultz was Clinton's key to the nomination?
In case this clip doesn't show in your browser: Wasserman Schultz was Hillary's campaign co-chair in her failed 2008 bid for the nomination. What if, in order to lock down the 2016 nomination, she were made the party chair? (The Wikileaks e-mails indicate that Hillary had been chosen before the primaries.) That means some one would need to step down, and that capable, able person was none other than Tim Kaine, the current vice presidential pick, a cafeteria Catholic to scope up those few Democrats who still have scruples. Quite a pay off for him for stepping aside.

What does the priest say to Kaine in confession?
I was reading today the Catholic Catechism section on penance
and reconciliation, and wonder how this fits with those who support the killing
of the unborn in violation of church teaching, especially those supporting and
influencing the laws of a nation of over 300 million. Being pro-choice reaches
much deeper than dismembering a fetus or taking a morning after pill. In
politics it’s lock step with euthanasia and the designation of male and female
which protect families. The pro-choice mind set on the value of another human being,
not unlike slavery in the mid-19th century when there were political decisions
that could make or break a promising career. “ I personally wouldn’t own a slave in
Maine but support the right in South Carolina”.
I do wonder what a priest says to
really powerful, influential Catholics like Pelosi, Biden and Kerry (or even the
deceased T. Kennedy), and now Kaine (who I believe rose up through the ranks as
pro-life and then flipped to buy his political success) and was selected by Clinton* to make the party
platform more compatible with the formerly reliable Catholic constituency

We Lutherans (and Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, Brethren, etc.) have no such rules; we just show up or don’t, believe or
don’t, it makes no difference, and no one cares. We can sin as much as we want
because no one has any authority to say otherwise, “Jesus paid it all,” as the
hymn says.
*Yes, Trump did the same political calculation choosing Pence to buy Evangelicals, but where is the church rule that says he can't?
