CNN lets Marc Lamont Hill go

. . . “grass-roots action, local action and international action that will give us what justice requires and that is a free Palestine from the river to the sea.” Marc Lamont Hill denies he was calling for the destruction of Israel, which just happens to be the land between the river and the sea and a phrase used by terrorists. CNN let him go, but since all these things are written and vetted before the on air ridiculousness that passes for news at CNN, perhaps there are a few others who need to go too? He was calling for jihad and won't admit it. Says he just can't understand how people misunderstood his "critique" of Israel. Duh.

Let's see if Twitter pulls his account as it has for conservatives who've said far less damaging things. Don't hold your breath.

Jihad, the President and the Pope

Not a good time to be an American Catholic--both our President and Pope are messing with marriage! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLFyB-DxzmQ

If you watch the whole June 24 segment of The World Over (EWTN), it includes Dr. Sebastian Gorka, counterinsurgency expert and Distinguished Chair of Military Theory at Marine Corps University to discuss the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Orlando, the DOJ/FBI response and his new book, Defeating Jihad: The Winnable War. There is a concerted effort by this administration to disconnect the dots where the threat of Islamic terrorism is concerned. The surge of foreign born Islamic terrorists (many stopped) under Obama is frightening. Democrats can't wish it away or rename it a hate crime or refuse to name it what Mateen called it. Changing his word Allah to God the way Lynch has done is just insulting.

Then next, Pope Francis on marriage--Fr Gerald Murray, Robert Royal and Raymond Arroyo, the host. People are very upset with what the Pope has said about marriage. And if you think it doesn't matter because you're a Lutheran or Calvinist or Methodist, think again.  The Catholics have a much higher view of marriage whether or not the couple in the pew choses to obey.  He seems to want to lower the bar. Marriage is already under attack--this isn't helping. Marriage isn't what we said or thought in Sept 1960--every day we need to renew our commitment. If he wants people to come back to Christ, this isn't the way to do it.

Why are we afraid?

Dr. William Warner has had a life-long interest in religion and its effects on history. He has studied the source texts of the major religions for decades. Even before the destruction of the World Trade Center he had predicted the war between Islam and America. The day after 9/11 he decided to make the source texts of Islam available for the average person.

He holds a PhD in physics and math, NC State University, 1968. He has been a university professor, businessman, and applied physicist.

He was a Member of the Technical Staff in solid-state physics at the Sarnoff Princeton Laboratories in the area of integrated circuit structures. During the energy crisis of the 80’s he founded and ran a company that specialized in energy efficient homes. For eight years he was a professor at Tennessee State University in the Engineering School.

He is puzzled that we are afraid to know the truth about Islam.  Take a look at this video.

The politicians do not use the word jihad, but terror and terror networks.

The left of center press says that the rhetoric of the right causes terror and that poor Muslims will suffer from being associated with terror. They should be worried about being associated with jihad.

The professors still teach Islam without jihad. The press will not offend Muslims. Police do not study the doctrine of jihad. Politicians cry out for more Muslim refugees.
We are losing a civilizational war because of political correctness. To win we must start using the language of Islam. We must start conversations that about the ideology and doctrine of political Islam.

Obama can say we’re not a Christian nation, but that’s not how ISIS understands who we are.

“Secularists rush to deny the religious aspect of the conflict with jihadists. Whenever possible they talk about “extremists” or “terrorists” and try to avoid the obvious conclusion that the Islamic terrorists are motivated by their religion. Likewise, when the victims are clearly Christian, and have been targeted for torture and death because of their faith in Christ the secular news media will spin the story and relegate the horrors to “ethnic conflict” or “tribal wars.”

The fact of the matter is that Islamic terrorists are targeting Christians in specific attacks. Furthermore, we may not regard the countries of Western Europe and North America as particularly “Christian” countries, but the Islamic terrorists of ISIS do. They speak enthusiastically about the coming war with “Rome”, which is their shorthand for what they perceive as the Christian powers of the West.”

Islam: What the West Needs Know.

Documentary film

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY4p39jeAVI

Peaceful, moderate Muslims are not following the tenets of Islam.  Even violent Muslims think they are peaceful—Islam is dedicated to establishing the faith in the world, and is therefore peaceful, even if people have to be killed.  The “verse of the sword” makes all other verses null and void. Kill them when you see them, wherever you find them (Christians and Jews).

Abrogation  in the Koran means later verses counseling Holy War, such the Sword Verse abrogate earlier verses counseling tolerance and peace .  When Westerners quote the peaceful verses, they ignore that they have been replaced.

There is no assurance of heaven, unless one dies as a martyr during jihad. Islam does not forbid suicide—and they don’t see it that way since the intention is to kill others.

Jihad means struggle. There are 164 verses in the Koran and many in the Hadith on jihad

ISIS kills more Christians for show terror

Last night millions of Americans watched “Game of Thrones” with elaborate sets, made up languages, sexy female monarchs, fantasy creatures--very violent and blood thirsty. Meanwhile ISIS slaughtered some more Christians, this time Ethiopians, and made a video of it. Most Americans yawned. They'd rather shut down pizza shops owned by Christians than lift a finger to stop the massacre of Christians. One group was beheaded on a beach along the Mediterranean Sea, while the other group was shot in Southern Libya, hundreds of miles away. "The sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama bin Laden's body in, we swear to Allah, we will mix it with your blood," the narrator said in English. He's talking to us.

President El-Sisi and President Obama don’t agree about ISIS and Islam

http://www.trevorloudon.com/2015/03/egyptian-president-crushes-jihadists-while-obama-coddles-them/

Trevor Loudon a conservative writer and political activist from New Zealand was interviewed about the world situation on the Glenn Beck show Monday night.  Links many of the world problems back to Putin. This story is from The Blaze and was posted at his blog, New Zeal.

“While President Sisi’s Ministry of Religious Endowments has granted 400 preaching permits to Salafist leaders, his move to close down 27,000 mosques — in the world’s most populous Arab country — is as dramatic as it is telling.

Consideration of such a policy would be unthinkable in America, as it would be seen as a violation of religious freedom, even if the facilities in question were to house those espousing anti-social and anti-American acts bordering on treason.

In fact, under President Obama America has taken a diametrically opposed approach: Actively seeking to partner with mosques, and creating significantly tougher standards for surveilling them.

President Sisi of Egypt sees the Muslim Brotherhood as the root of ISIS and Islamic jihad and has banned the organization.  Obama welcomes the Brotherhood at the White House. Obama attempts to embrace Iran and reject Israel.

Here’s a interview which ran on Fox News; and he was very careful about what he said about Obama—nothing negative. It’s well worth watching.

Another Arab at MEMRI opines on Obama’s strange anti-Israel, pro-Iran behavior.

"I will conclude by saying the following: Since Obama is the godfather of the prefabricated revolutions in the Arab world, and since he is the ally of political Islam, [which is] the caring mother of [all] the terrorist organizations, and since he is working to sign an agreement with Iran that will come at the expense of the U.S.'s longtime allies in the Gulf, I am very glad of Netanyahu's firm stance and [his decision] to speak against the nuclear agreement at the American Congress despite the Obama administration's anger and fury. I believe that Netanyahu's conduct will serve our interests, the people of the Gulf, much more than the foolish behavior of one of the worst American presidents. “ Saudi daily Al-Jazirah, columnist Dr. Ahmad Al-Faraj  http://www.memri.org/

An Iraqi-Assyrian speaks out after the burning of the Mosul public library

“When ISIS first attacked Mosul, we Assyrians living in America protested and begged for help. We have lived as a minority in Iraq for hundreds of years, we have faced oppression, but when ISIS came we knew this was unlike anything we have ever faced before. Far worse than anything Saddam himself could have imagined. People counter protested us said it was not America's problem, citing the Iraq war. This is nothing like the Iraq war and I think now people are starting to understand why it is our problem. This isn't some backwards, stupid terrorist group. The leader of ISIS is CIA trained; he is smart unlike anything I've ever seen in the middle east before, and he wants to establish a caliphate. He won't stop until he wipes out the US and other westerners off the map. Now, he may very well be in absolutely no position to do that ever, but at the rate he is going he will be strong enough to cause us a lot of problems very soon.” Commenter at the article on burning the library, a Christian church and a theater.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/isis-burns-8000-rare-books-030900856.html

“The library was looted in 2003 and the citizens of Mosul restored it. During the US led invasion of Iraq in 2003, the library was looted and destroyed by mobs. However, the people living nearby managed to save most of its collections and rich families bought back the stolen books and they were returned to the library, All Faraj added.”

I lay the ISIS problems—the killing, torture and building of the caliphate--at the feet of President Obama, who could have prevented all this loss by leaving minimal armed U.S. military in the country.  ISIS flooded in even before our pull out which had conveniently been announced with a time table. And if he were a secret Muslim, what would be different? As it is, he is just another just-us social justice Christian.

This cartoonist got it wrong

Some people think this cartoon isn't fair to people with Deeply Held Beliefs.

Seems a bit over the top even for a political cartoon. I don't know a single person who denies that the climate has changed over the last 10,000 years or so, especially here in Ohio where the state was covered by a glacier until a few thousand years ago. Not too terribly long ago the science proved we were in another ice age.

I've never heard a Creationist suggest that science be stopped--they love being proven right time after time. The anti-vaxxers don't deny science in general, they just have believed stuff they see on the internet--originally published in a prestigious medical journal by scientists.

This cartoon diminishes the pain and suffering that militant, radical Muslims have inflicted on Yazidis, Christians, Afghanis and Iraqis. They've chopped off heads of children, crucified people, kidnapped girls to be slaves, and massacred other Muslims. Show me something even close by people who think science is sometimes/often way off track.

Then allow me to show you the retractions in science journals that are in every issue.

The Crusades vs. Jihad

Why the Crusades: the Muslims conquered the Christian Near East, parts of Italy, and all of Spain—unchecked, they'd have taken Europe.

#PrayerBreakfast

Both are “holy wars,” but the jihad continues.  Wake up.

If you’ve been napping or you are only watching MSNBC, the President compared killing by Christians during the Crusades a thousand years ago with killing by ISIS at the Prayer Breakfast (organized by Christians) on Thursday. Then for good measure he threw in the Inquisition (which was an effort by the Spanish crown aka big government), slavery in the U.S., and Jim Crow (all by implication caused and carried out by Christians). History alert: world wide slavery, both cross Atlantic in the 17-18th centuries and today were supported and financed by Arabs and Muslims; Jim Crow was primarily a Democrat effort to hold back newly won rights given by Republicans, and free blacks in the U.S. during pre-Civil War days owned slaves at a higher rate than did white citizens.  Our dear leader has given the jihadis more ammunition. They too talk about the Crusades today, and ignore that they were in response for Muslim warriors forcibly converting millions of Christians, destroying their countries, and taking them as slaves to Africa. Every dot on the above map represents a successful battle by Islamists spreading their hate, fear and religion.  It began in northern Africa, moved to the islands of the Mediterranean, took over Spain (where their civilization was called Moor), into France, Italy, southern Russia, etc. Our President not only leads from behind, but he is waaaaaay behind.

A good historical summary of what we are facing

“In view of its ideology, fanaticism, ruthlessness, the size of the territories that it has already occupied, and its regional and perhaps even global ambitions, ISIS can be regarded as the greatest threat since the Second World War and one that could change the map of the Middle East and the post-Sykes-Picot geography of the entire region, and challenge Western interests in the Persian Gulf and beyond. “

Oh look, something Obama isn’t good at . . . optics

James Taranto column:  "[Barack] Obama had always had a high estimation of his ability to cast and run his operation," the New York Times's Jodi Kantor wrote in her 2012 book, "The Obamas" (quoted here by National Review's Jim Geraghty). "I think I could probably do every job on the campaign better than the people I'll hire to do it," then-Sen. Obama told job interviewee David Plouffe in 2006. "I think I'm a better speechwriter than my speechwriters," he told another job candidate, Patrick Gaspard. "I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I'll tell you right now that I'm gonna think I'm a better political director than my political director"--namely Patrick Gaspard.

In the 68th month of his presidency, Obama says he has found something he's not good at. "Part of this job is . . . the theater of it," he told Chuck Todd, the new host of NBC's "Meet the Press." "Well, it's not something that always comes naturally to me. But it matters. And I'm mindful of that."

The comment was part of the president's answer to the following question from Todd: "I've got to ask, so during that vacation, you made the statement on [James] Foley"--the American journalist who'd just been beheaded by ISIS--"you went and golfed. Do you want that back?" (Meaning: Do you regret it?)

After complaining about being "followed everywhere" and wishing for a "vacation from the press," Obama meandered toward an affirmative answer: "Because the possibility of a jarring contrast given the world's news, there's always going to be some tough news somewhere, it's going to be there. But there's no doubt that after having talked to the families, where it was hard for me to hold back tears listening to the pain that they were going through after the statement that I made, that I should've anticipated the optics."

Wall Street Journal, Best of the Web, September 8, 2014

My opinion: he’s culturally and emotionally tone deaf. When it comes to Muslims, even those who behead Americans, he only can see “extremists.”  When it comes to anything dealing with the military, even elderly sick veterans, he is deaf and blind.

Cheat sheet for ISIS players

Here's a cheat sheet on the players of ISIL, aka ISIS, aka IS, 2004-2014. Although they've only popped into the headlines lately, you'll see they've got deep roots. Probably difficult to read on your phone, but note that ISIS targets both Assad and the U.S. Twelve groups sometimes killing each other, sometimes cooperating. http://www.start.umd.edu/pubs/START_EvolutionofISILRelationships_FactSheet_June2014.pdf

Cool or cruel?

Recently an abortion clinic worker posted a video of her own abortion. No way to know if it was real or just a way to get attention. But when I saw the video of the kidnappers of the Nigerian girls spew hate for Western culture, I think he must have that in mind--when a woman calls killing her own baby, "Cool."

Obama, Clinton, Panetta—listen up

Let's bring all military home and stop supplying arms to Muslim fundamentalists. This whole Arab Spring Obama joy ride is a crock, and just the flip side of "nation building," only there's no plan for democracy. Let them battle it out and we'll drill for oil at home. Our Commander in Chief, our Secretary of State and our Defense Secretary are complete ______ (fill in the blank), and not one more life should be lost to their bungling.

It's one thing for a President (Bush) to say, all peoples deserve to have democracy and we'll help. It was naive, but made a lot more sense than trying to pick the winners and losers in a civil war amongst Muslim tribes, Muslim sects and Muslim dictators. Obama has been a complete failure in picking winners, whether it is green energy companies or the Muslim Brotherhood, aka Peace and Justice Party.

If an Obama supporter reads the tragic account of the last hours of the Americans in Benghazi just reported today when all those who could've helped were told to "stand down," and doesn't change her mind, she's hopelessly lost. The Seals were CIA operatives there to track down our lost arms—lost in Obama’s attempt to take sides in civil wars and he armed the wrong guys.  They are the ones who left their compound and came to the aid of the ambassador, and lost their own lives.

I know a lot of Conservatives think the economy is the critical issue, but I can't get it out of my head that the Commander in Chief of The United States Armed Forces left his men behind. No, not only left them, but made a conscious decision not to save them. Just disgusting. And shame on Colin Powell for supporting him.

What is also part of the cover-up

Obama’s Middle East policy is a disaster.  Maybe you didn’t like Bush’s policies in Afghanistan and Iraq, but at least he got the approval of Congress—Republicans and Democrats.  Obama has seriously expanded the war, with no approval from us via our representatives, and the guns are about as secure as they were in Fast and Furious.  Here the NYT actually puts the bad news in the lede:

Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar al-Assad are going to hard-line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups that the West wants to bolster, according to American officials and Middle Eastern diplomats.

That conclusion, of which President Obama and other senior officials are aware from classified assessments of the Syrian conflict that has now claimed more than 25,000 lives, casts into doubt whether the White House’s strategy of minimal and indirect intervention in the Syrian conflict is accomplishing its intended purpose of helping a democratic-minded opposition topple an oppressive government, or is instead sowing the seeds of future insurgencies hostile to the United States.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/15/world/middleeast/jihadists-receiving-most-arms-sent-to-syrian-rebels.html?_r=0

Obama has Muslim Brotherhood members advising him.  This has to stop.  We have a system for selecting advisers.

Muslim speaker warns Canadians (and us) about jihadists

A Canadian-Indian-Muslim-Marxist-cancer survivor (not sure how this works) talks about Communism and Islamo-Fascism and how blind the western governments are. We are illiterate when it comes to Jihad, he says. The Muslim Brotherhood is dangerous yet welcome in the White House.

Nomad reviewed at Books and Culture

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is not a Christian, but in her new book about adjusting to life in America, Nomad, she writes:
Christian leaders now wasting precious time and resources on a futile exercise of interfaith dialogue with … self-appointed leaders of Islam should redirect their efforts to converting as many Muslims as possible to Christianity, introducing them to a God who rejects Holy War and who has sent his son to die for all sinners out of love for mankind.
Unfortunately, many Christian churches have been on a passionate hunt for social justice, or environmental justice, or economic justice, and have completely forgotten about the great commission, which will lead people to God's justice. If she's looking to "moderate" Christians, those she says don't accept the Bible as God's written word for us in these days, she's in for a disappointment.

A career with a future--terrorism studies

There was Russian Language and Area Studies, Black Studies, Women's Studies, and now, a Graduate Certificate in Terrorism Studies

"The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) is a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence, tasked by the Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate with using state-of-the-art theories, methods, and data from the social and behavioral sciences to improve understanding of the origins, dynamics, and social and psychological impacts of terrorism. START, based at the University of Maryland, College Park, aims to provide timely guidance on how to disrupt terrorist networks, reduce the incidence of terrorism, and enhance the resilience of U.S. society in the face of the terrorist threat."

Isn't it odd that when an American born Muslim, member of the military with an elite education shoots up a military base and kills and wounds many Americans, the administration doesn't get too worked up about it. But when a foreign Muslim doesn't bring down a plane and doesn't kill anyone, the administration eventually goes into high gear. Perhaps it's because both these guys had the same mentor in Yemen, so their age, ethnicity, nationality and careers weren't the defining similarity. I wonder if this certificate program teaches profiling? Nah.
