I'm biased and so are you, but Washington Post really is biased

Everyone has a bias--and more than one  I have them.  You have them.  But Washington Post has gone waaaay beyond bias to insane, hysterical hatred.  Since it was bought by Jeff Bezos (Amazon gay gazillionaire) it’s worth swearing off, but I do still look through the headlines to see if any of the 8-9 “news” or opinion stories in the digital version will be about anything other than Trump hatism. Nope. But one story on the 11th made me wonder if it is eating its own toxic entrails.  The “journalists” opined that perhaps all this rioting and activism about Trump’s election could possibly be good for the Democrat party--sort of like the Tea Party was good for Republicans.

1) The authors ignore that not only did President Obama’s policies, particularly the misnamed Affordable Care Act, lose the federal government for the Democrats, but he lost most state legislatures for them, too. He left the country leaderless abroad, although he personally enjoyed great popularity at home. There is no Donald J. Trump in a governor’s seat; there is no State Senator Trump in a state where Obama helped Democrats lose.  But 68% in flyover country are controlled by Republicans.

2)  And what Starbucks did the Tea Party burn down? When did the Tea Party mob bankers and businesses wearing black masks and screaming obscenities?  What March in Washington did the Tea Party ever threaten the police or leave enough trash to sink the climate change movement or dress like their own genitals? And did the entrenched Republicans in Congress ever listen to the Tea Party?

Jenean Hampton, Tea Party Republican

12196018_409130279285469_7494687444151206189_n[1]

Republicans also made history in another way. Bevin’s lieutenant governor running-mate, Jenean Hampton, is now the first African American elected to statewide office ever in the state’s history.

Born in Detroit, the 57-year-old Hampton and her three sisters were raised by a single mom who lacked a high school education and couldn’t afford a television or a car. But Hampton was determined to better herself. She graduated with a degree in industrial engineering and worked for five years in the automobile industry to pay off her college loans. She then joined the Air Force, retiring as a Captain. She earned an MBA from the University of Rochester, moved to Kentucky and became a plant manager in a corrugated packaging plant. Then she lost her job in 2012. She used her free time to start a career in politics and becoming active in the Tea Party.

IRS targets revealed in e-mails

Newly released internal Internal Revenue Service emails obtained by the group Judicial Watch document active direction by the federal tax agency's headquarters in targeting Tea Party and conservative nonprofit applicants during the 2010 and 2012 campaigns.

The emails were obtained by the conservative non-profit in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.

Read more here.

And it didn’t begin with over zealous Cincinnati IRS staff.

A bridge shut down is more important than leaking tax information on citizens

Shock and awe. The Obama supporter/employee leading the investigation of the IRS vendetta against conservative organizations who had applied for tax status couldn't find anything. Move along. Nothing.

ttp://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2014/01/14/no-criminal-charges-expected-in-fbi-investigation-into-irs-scandal/

According to today’s Wall St. Journal, Cleta Mitchell, an attorney who represents many of the targets, says that the FBI has never contacted any of her clients to discuss their treatment at the hands of the IRS. "Shouldn't law enforcement talk to the victims in an investigation?," she asks in an email. "That's like investigating a burglary without interviewing the burgled," notes a Journal editorial.

Happy birthday Boston Tea Party, December 16

The Boston Tea Party was a nonviolent political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, on December 16, 1773. The Tea Party became an iconic event of American history, and other political protests often refer to it--got to love the language, "odious miscreants and detestable tools" "murder and destroy," "vile ingrates," committee for "Tarring and Feathering." Very detailed history of the event at this site.

For anyone seeking the truth about the Tea Party—guest blogger Kay

As a supporter of the Sauk Valley Tea Party [Illinois], I know the liberal media has steered you wrong. The majority of the active members are people like you, retired and concerned about the future of the country. Our group focuses on education and we have people like Congressmen Manzullo, Schilling, radio hosts like Dan Proft, local leaders like the owner of Jimmy Johns in Dixon, representatives from a state-wide organization to point out facts of Common Core Curriculum.

The nation-wide Tea Party is comprised of people of all races, ages, and ethnic backgrounds. (And I'm quoting this from a statistic of a few yours ago.) I protested Pelosi Care in D.C., when it was staged to be voted by the Democratically controlled house. The "tea party" people at that protest included families with young children, all ages and races and even Democrats. Anyway, the point is: I was next to the security and as the security guards shifted around, their number one comment was: This group is the best group. . . never any problems occur with the Tea Party people, they are well organized and very respectful.

I hope you find peace with yourself in your quest for the truth.

Black conservatives discuss needs of black community

Great show on GBTV tonight--an hour long discussion with 5 black conservatives on problems and strengths in the black community. Star Parker hosted; panelists were Scott Turner, (former Redskins, Chargers, Broncos) Republican House, Texas; Marc Little, author of "Prodigal Republican," lawyer, California; T.W. Shannon, Oklahoma House speaker; Katrina Piersen, Tea Party, Fox commentator. They discussed generational poverty, school choice, income, wealth, mobility and net worth. Job growth, not more government assistance is needed, they concluded. Although a source was not cited, one said that affirmative action had actually decreased black income over time.

Paula Priesse on the quacking IRS scandal

“The White House appoints only two IRS positions, the commissioner and the IRS chief counsel, currently William Wilkins. In 2008, Wilkins defended the tax-exempt status of Jeremiah Wright’s church and did so pro bono. What a guy, no wonder O gave him the IRS gig! So check out this timeline from the IG report in the Daily Caller today: 1) April 23, 2012 - Wilkins meets with O in the WH. Arrived 3:54pm, departed over 7 hours later. 2) April 24, 2012 – IRS Commissioner Shulman meets with O. 3) April 25, 2012 – Wilkins sends IRS official Lois Lerner & former IRS lawyer Carter Hull “additional comments on the draft guidance” for accepting or denying Tea Party applications. So we have Lerner taking the Fifth, Cincy agent Liz Hofacre & Carter Hull testifying that denials of DC involvement are pure BS and now this. Forget walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, this has been a duck since day one. And this big fat duck is starting to point directly to O! The media’s reaction? Oh goody goody gumdrops, Kate had a boy!!! P” [from her Facebook wall]

The agents were in D.C. directing the operations against Tea Party

"The heart of the effort to target tea-party and other conservative groups, we are learning, occurred in Washington, and that is likely why five D.C.-based IRS officials who are connected to the targeting have retired, resigned, been replaced, or been put on administrative leave, since news of the scandal broke in mid May.

They include Holly Paz, who last week, according to an IRS source, was replaced as director of Rulings and Agreements, the division that oversaw the targeting of conservative groups; Washington lawyer Carter Hull, who is accused of micromanaging the processing of tea-party cases, and who, according to IRS sources, requested his retirement package on March 12; the commissioner of the agency’s Tax Exempt and Government Entities division, Joseph Grant, who retired on June 3; former IRS commissioner Steven Miller, who resigned days after news of the scandal broke; and the director of the IRS’s Exempt Organizations division, Lois Lerner, who was placed on administrative leave only after refusing to tender her resignation, according to Iowa’s Chuck Grassley.

All five are or were based in the IRS’s headquarters on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C."

IRS: 'Please Detail the Content of Your Members' Prayers.'

Yikes.  The Internal Revenue Service, the folks who will have charge of your medical care under Obama’s new invasive health care law, asked an Iowa group this who were applying for 501c3 status.  Pro-life groups were asked what they were doing to present the other side!  What?

I watched the hearings today.  The acting IRS commissioner, Steven Miller, said that he believes the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups was “absolutely not illegal,” but he did acknowledge that it was inappropriate.  Inappropriate is the 5 syllable word for sin, wrong and bad.  It sounds like they are all talking to pre-schoolers who have just taken away a toy.  If there were ever a reason for conservative patriot groups to feel they are being targeted for vindictive treatment by the Obama administration, this Miller guy would be it. Arrogant, snotty, blind to what his agency has done, and oblivious to the laws that have been broken.  (He objected to the word “target.”)  And he’s resigning early, will get a golden parachute, and probably go to work for a Democrat think tank or law firm at a higher salary.

Lloyd Marcus challenges Julian Bond

Julian Bond says it was unfair for IRS to target civil rights groups, but OK for IRS to harass tea party and patriot groups because they are "admittedly racist." Can he cite a source? Are the blacks who are members of the Tea Party groups then racists also? Lloyd Marcus, a black Tea Party member, challenges Bond for details.

http://www.lloydmarcus.com/?p=3516

“As a black tea party activist who has participated in over 400 tea party rallies, I am confident that your claim is bogus. Therefore Mr Bond, you sir are a despicable liar, severely compromising your image as a statesman. You and your ilk purposely inspire hate in low-info black voters against tea party patriots who simply said no to Obama’s socialist agenda and trashing of the Constitution. Shame on you Mr Bond.”

In 2005 when the IRS under Bush was investigating political activity of the NAACP and its tax status,  Julian Bond said “I thought the right to condemn a president of the United States came to every American, whether he or she heads a tax-exempt organization or not” now says “I don’t think there’s a double standard at all” when asked if he can understand what Tea Party leaders are going through.

Worse than Nixon’s enemies list—and much bigger

183168_660889067270948_2045396252_n[1]

Maybe the news about the IRS being used as a personal tool for the Obama campaign to put up road blocks for fund raising for patriot groups will cover up the news about 1) Benghazi cover up and gun running, 2) Department of Justice snooping and listening in on reporters, 3) the ghoulish Kermit Gosnell abortion murders, and 4) the news that 17 of the nation’s largest insurance companies indicate that with Obamacare, on average, premiums will grow 100% when the law is fully implemented.  Some will soar more than 400%.

Some conservative talking heads are speculating that with three huge scandals (not counting the insurance cost increase since we’ve known for years that would be a disaster), the Obama administration is in trouble. I don't see it. Democrats are incredibly loyal, much more so than Republicans. I used to be a Democrat and when I became a Republican in 2000 it was a big shock to see what wafflers Republicans are since Democrats will go to the grave wrong, but proud to be a Democrat.  Romney lost in 2012 not because of the youth vote or the Hispanic vote but because Republican and Libertarian Christians stayed home and pouted. It's very frustrating. There's a streak of perfectionism in evangelical and fundamentalist Christians that won't be moved.

Rabid news reporters

Last night in clicking through the channels I paused long enough to hear a female black (probably Democrat) commentator refer to the “rabid Tea Party.” No bias there. The audience had probably cheered a candidate as they are inclined to do at political events. Were Democrats "rabid" when they cheered Obama for singing 7 words of an Al Green song the other day? It's gone viral.

Tea Party members assemble peacefully, maybe they sing a hymn or patriotic song, listen to an Old Testament scripture or say the Pledge of Allegiance. They pay rent for the space they use (they don't just occupy it illegally) and clean it up. They invite candidates to speak on local and national issues--library, schools, water rights, zoning--they sponsor workshops, book clubs, and discussion groups. They are, in my opinion, the grass roots, town hall example of how to be an informed voter and good citizen. On the other hand, both political parties have arcane, obscure rules for even getting on a committee—no newcomer can hope to break through or have an influence.

So who is being rabid—that woman or the Tea Party?

Something good is happening in Kansas

The tone of this article isn't positive--after all it comes from the Washington Post.
In the past year, three state agencies [in Kansas] have been abolished and 2,050 jobs have been cut. Funding for schools, social services and the arts have been slashed. The new Republican governor [Sam Brownback] rejected a $31.5 million federal grant for a new health-insurance exchange because he opposes President Obama’s health-care law. And that’s just the small stuff. . .

The governor has said his main concerns are creating jobs, cutting taxes and bringing new businesses to the state, which has been losing population to domestic migration over the past decade and ranks near the bottom in private-sector job creation.

“We cannot continue on this path and hope we can move forward and win the future,” he said in the Wichita speech . “It won’t work. We have to change course, and we’re going to have to be aggressive about it or we are doomed to a slow decline.”
The story here.

Van Jones Warns Of A Progressive "October Offensive" Against Tea Party

Isn't it interesting that with college students tearing up the streets of New York, getting arrested, being cheered on and rallied by the likes of Susan Sarandon, Cornell West, and Michael Moore, there are those out there, like former Obama staffer Van Jones, who see the Tea Party as a threat to their own take over of the United States? Amazing times we live in.

And if you're a Democrat who's been grumbling in the background about the Tea Party without knowing a thing about what they stand for (smaller government, less taxation), you're aiding this insanity. Obama came out for his buddy Prof. Gates in Boston in 2009 against the police who were investigating a break-in, and I suppose Van Jones is hoping for more of the same.

Around here Tea Parties have wild, crazy gatherings in Unitarian churches and public libraries. Not exactly Moore and Sarandon's hangouts.

Some people get Obama loud and clear

In 2008 we were in a recession cycle and an election cycle. But even those of us who had to hold our noses to vote for McCain could tell a growth candidate from a non-growth. As senators, Obama's growth record votes were zero, and McCain's 94%. Is it any wonder he's floundering in restoring the economy. Look at his record!

According to the Club for Growth it costs $80,000 for a small business to create a new $40,000 job--a so called "middle class" salary. That's because of taxes, benefits, mandates, etc. Now how big of a government stimulus and additional tax breaks would a small businessman need to create a job and hire you? The first stimulus in 2009 failed to create or save jobs. The money went to save unions (public and private) and to create new government jobs (unemployment hovering around 3.5 in that sector). The second will too. Why? Obama is pro-growth for government, and anti-growth for the private sector. His record as a senator said it; his record as a president proves it.

Last night I attended a gathering of "like minded" conservatives. They were all Christians, but members of a number of different churches from Lutheran to Roman Catholic to Pentecostal to "not a member." And their issues were diverse, too--abortion (Heartbeat bill), Issue 2 (public unions), Issue 3 (defeating Obamacare), protecting Israel from extremists to confronting jihadism. But none of these issues will matter if Americans continue to struggle financially, because they'll lose interest in the highly charged and critical moral issues.

People are waking up about Obama. The Tea Party gets it; the 9/12 Glenn Beck groups get it; the libertarians get it; about 50% of the Republicans get it; and about 25% of the undeclared, fence-sitters get it. Time to shake things up in local elections this November and nationally next November.

The media, the Tea Party, and the President

"We have seen Obama in numerous cowboy movies. Obama is the loud mouth guy standing on the steps of the jail-house yelling at the crowd. He works the crowd into a frenzy causing them to overrule the sheriff and the law, drag out the prisoner and hang him without a trial.

Since the beginning of his presidency, on numerous occasions, our community-organizer-in -chief has worked his minions into a frenzy to punish white police, banks, Wall Street, corporate CEOs, private jet owners, Arizonians, insurance companies, doctors, the rich, and anyone opposing Obamacare.

As testimony to the effectiveness of the Tea Party, Obama has instructed his minions, Congressional Black Caucus and unions to escalate their slander and level of vitriol which now includes threat of violence. The left has set aside September 17th as their National Day of Rage. Lord knows what evil they have scheduled. The left has created a violent hate-filled game titled, "Tea Party Zombies Must Die". www.teapartyzombiesmustdie.com

Meanwhile, the liberal media appears tone deaf to the lies, hate, anger and violence coming from the left. When Obama instructed his minions to "push back twice as hard" against those who opposed Obamacare, black conservative Kenneth Gladney was beaten and sent to the emergency room by SEIU thugs. Clearly, Obama's new enforcers are misinformed flash mobs of black youths attacking whites across America."

A Reader thinks I have Lakeside sand in my ears

Says I don't see (hear) the racism of the Tea Party. Not much sand in Lakeside--it was built on rock and The Rock. 140 years later it’s pretty rock solid liberal Democrat, and if there are any Tea Partyers here, they must be white haired pensioners watching their grandchildren’s future being frittered away by two parties that are tweedle-dumb and twiddle dumber.

I have seen racist stuff on the internet about Obama and I move on, but it is still not reaching the decibel level of the anti-Bush mania of his two terms, but I suppose it could come to that. It's not close to the misogynist, anti-disabled, anti-Palin, ageist, anti-Tea Party nonsense that streams from the main stream media. If Joe 6-pack sends racist jokes to his buddies, it's free speech, but what is it when MSNBC or the View get hysterical about a grass roots quasi-organized non-party? They are talking to thousands (well, MSNBC maybe hundreds).

Is the Tea Party a party like the two who have put us in this financial mess? Do they have talking heads reading script on ABC, CBS or NBC? Has the Tea Party run up a deficit? Have they put people out of work? What subversive action have they taken? Have they shot up a military base and had it hidden by the MSM? Have they sold guns to Mexican organized crime like our Attorney General and kept their jobs? Have they been tweeting pictures of their naked skinny bodies like Weiner? I’d like to know what qualifies as terrorism and racism to a Democrat. Apparently, protected free speech, disagreeing with an unqualified black president, and ridiculing his attempts at restoring the economy would be three. Those are the ones I've heard from Tea Party representatives on news shows. I don't count the ridicule by the liberal comedians like Maher and Letterman. You have to consider the source. Maher calls Tea Partyers "morons" and "Zombies" so I doubt that he's too reliable.

I've never been a member of a Tea Party group, but I have been a registered Democrat. I know how they think--or don't think. It's why I left. Too much feeling and not enough thought.
