Group names
| A pickle of porcupines |
What group name goes with the women’s march of January 21? Obstinacy (of buffalo); clutter (of cats); coalition (of cheetahs); piteousness (of doves); a flamboyance (of flamingoes); a confusion (of guinea fowl); a scold (of jays); a mischief (of mice); a prickle (of porcupines); a rhumba (of rattlesnakes); a posse (of turkeys); a hurtle (of sheep).

West Coast March for Life, January 21
At the West Coast March for Life Reggie Littlejohn, founder and president of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers who works internationally to stop the carnage of abortion said President Trump would sign an order to defund International Planned Parenthood on Sunday. I haven't confirmed that actually happened. As I understand the history of this, only under Presidents Clinton and Obama was it funded. She said China has aborted 400,000,000 (U.S. is 58,000,000) and is assisted by the UN and Int. PP. (That's our tax money killing babies.) That's more than the population of the U.S. and Canada. Because much of Chinese abortion is for sex selection, it has destabilized their population with huge trafficking now in women as millions of men can't find a wife and start a family. Mrs. Littlejohn is raising 2 teen Chinese girls whose parents helped them escape while they went to jail and were tortured. The American women marching against Trump on Saturday don't care about what is happening to women in Asia; they want more power to the government.

Media manipulation--Women's March, January 21
I don't know how many minutes the media gave to the women's march
yesterday--but it was a lot. I only saw what was on Fox and they certainly provided a lot of coverage. Like they'd never heard of such an event.
And yet it has happened every year since 1974 to memorialize those
babies who have died and the women who have suffered grief, suicide and
higher rates of cancer in the name of "health care for women" or
"women's rights." The 2011 and 2012 marches drew an estimated 400,000
each, whereas the 2013 march drew an estimated 650,000. It is also held in multiple cities, just like the copy cat event yesterday.
I started watching this about 5 years ago on EWTN, the only channel
that actually covers the speakers and prayer vigils. But I'd never heard
of it before then. Huge turn out from young people of all Christian
groups, not just Catholics. And they are polite, they don't shout
vulgarities, burn trash and cars in the street and smash Starbucks
windows.
The media manipulate you. Demand better. They are on the air to produce wealth for their owners and advertisers. If you don't know it is happening, then it isn't. Unfortunately, many churches are just as silent as the media.

I survived, guest blogger Bonnie
I survived the last eight years of an administration with which I did not agree on anything. I am not a fan of Trump. I only know that he was a better choice than her. I like most of his Cabinet and close advisors. It's so refreshing after the likes of Jonathon Gruber and Van Jones and Cass Sustein. I am thoroughly looking forward to rolling back the tide of Socialism.
I made calls to Congressmen and participated in peaceful protests. I did not have to retreat to my safe space. It's too bad the "tolerant" left is so intolerant of other views that they resort to throwing bricks at the police and destroying property.

The Electoral College and the popular vote
If you're still complaining that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote (I must have heard it 5 times watching broadcast TV yesterday), keep in mind, this is the second time she won the popular vote and lost the election. In 2008, she won the popular vote in the Democrat primaries--I don't know how to figure the percentage, but it was greater than in 2016. But as with the Electoral College which lets the states speak, she didn't win the right number of primaries. That said, I admire her for showing up yesterday. Classier than the Democrats who put on the pout and stayed home. Now more Democrats/Progressives/Anarchists/ and all around poor sports who didn't vote are descending on DC. In some cities there have been some serious injuries. In DC, cars were set on fire, trash was burned, police were spit on, and head bashed in.

Prayer at the inauguration
"I am so ecstatic that my President made his inauguration virtually a prayer meeting! Trump transitioned into his Presidency asking 10 million people to bow their heads and petition our One True God for help. His VP opened the Bible to 1 Chronicles 7:14 to be sworn into office: "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
I am so proud to be an American! God, bring revival to our nation!"

I haven't crunched the numbers
But this sounds about right. Obama was notorious for self-reference. Trump's speech was called Hitlerian by one of the pouty MSM talking heads, the guy with a thrill up his leg I think. Who knew "We the American people" was such a terrorizing phrase. I tried all the channels today--NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS. Shameful. I thought they would weep. If they gave the Trumps one minute, they'd follow it up with about three for the Obamas, and then go back and lovingly stroke their memories from 2009. The leftward media seems to believe that Trump will expand presidential power even more than Obama did--like this past week for example.

A business man visiting in Washington DC
I met Damon when he was about 8 years old. His mother Terry is a friend, and his sister used to date our son. He's now "making bank" as my kids say, and is in DC today. On Facebook he reports.
Headed to airport a day early. Protesters are literally starting fights with old ladies... no exaggeration. Skirmish started by monument when a young guy shoved a 80yr old lady to the ground for having a Trump shirt on. The fun festive environment is gone.So those of you who think you are simply exercising your free speech as I do on my blog, are sadly wrong. You are being manipulated. You can't name a single government program that Donald Trump put in place that hurts blacks, gays, women, Christians, Muslims, immigrants, or puppies, but I can list at least 20 that Obama or previous presidents has put in place that hurt those people.

Anarchists and Marxists have come together to protest in major cities

Many of the organizations backing the anti-inauguration events are "worker this or that," "globalist so and so" and "people unite for blah blah." Their names/titles are pretty clear. They only laid low because Obama was black, but they've been working over time behind the scenes for years. Communism under any name is still that, statism/socialism, the problem is today's young adults weren't even born when the USSR collapsed, and that's when American Communists took over the movement.
I wish the demonstrations and terrorist acts were just bad sport, toddler tantrums, but they aren't. These are goon level, 1917 Russia food riots, but no one demonstrating is poor, or suffering or losing in WWI. Marxism has that sort of energy--what it says it is about (racism, sexism, homophobia in 21st century Europe or America) it isn't, no matter the country or era. It's not workers' rights; it's not about larger apartments or better food. It's not about health. It's all about power to the state and the leaders' skill to drag the little guy in.

Manning and suicide rates
Pvt. Manning to whom Obama just granted freedom has attempted suicide twice while in prison. The rate of suicide (and suicide attempts) by transgendered or those on their way is very high--about 40%. And it's not discrimination. It's also very high after genital surgery, facial remolding and inclusion. If discrimination were the leading factor, then blacks would have a higher rate than whites, but they don't. Poorer neighborhoods would have higher rates of suicide than richer, but they don't. Jail suicide rates have gone up 12% during Obama's terms. Prison suicides outnumber homicides. The highest suicide rate is white men over 85. Obama's tragic decision won't help military veterans whose suicide rate is twice that of civilians.
I was wrong about Manning's orchiectomy--he hasn't had it yet, so he's a male taking estrogen to enlarge his breasts who's had a name change. And why not be depressed, anxious and suicidal? He's betrayed his fellow soldiers, his country, and his family so he could get free hormones and mascara. That's a heavy burden for anyone to bear. His treachery led to the deaths of poor villagers who were supporting U.S. forces and outed many of our allies. How does this make him a hero and a figure worthy of pity? I suspect Obama has signed his death warrant.

The hysterical left
Although I wasn't on Facebook in January 2009, I do remember the fear mongering on the internet. There were all sorts of conspiracy rumors about how the far right would act, probably inciting violence, against the our country's first black president. And it's all come true this month, but it's not the far right. It's Soros backed demonstrators, anarchists, unionists, CEOs of non-profits, and elderly boomers from the prairies reliving their youth; it's terrified snowflakes and Joy Behar "View" buds banding together in fear and mourning. It's clear evidence how deeply the Marxists (even those who are making money hand over fist with TV gigs) have wormed into and infested our society. Trump may have won the election, but the left definitely has a strangle hold on the culture. In December Behar shrieked (or growled), "Do we have to wait until the hammer and sickle is on the American flag before we stand up to this guy?” she asked. "No, Joy, you've been carrying that banner for years," Norma advised.

Does ideology matter to Trump?
Rush Limbaugh said something interesting today and I paraphrase. Donald Trump really doesn't understand the left; he isn't conservative or liberal. I think that's true--at least I've never heard him say anything about a person's ideology. I seriously doubt he knows Trotsky from Alinsky. He's a business man accustomed to working with all types. He believes in free markets (sort of) because that's a good business principle. He thinks borders should be secure because he believes why have a border if it is ignored and drugs, criminals, etc. cross over. It must be a shock to him to be called racist, homophobic and sexist by the middle school mean girls, since before running for President he schmoozed with all types and they fawned over him, invited him to their parties, and told him he was wonderful because of his influence. When John Civil Rights Icon says something stupid and attacks Trump, he just reacts by punching back, and doesn't delve into any socialist twaddle or diversity dribble that has kept that Icon on salary (he got to Icon status by being beaten near to death by Democrats). When the black Congressional lock step club pressure each other to not attend the inauguration and powers higher than them smack around entertainers and school marching bands, Trump takes it personally, but doesn't seem to see the fog of statism in over under around and through it where everyone has to obey, pay a fine, lose their livelihood, be shunned or jailed.

Metastatic breast cancer
I got a sad letter this week begging me to warn the women in my life about metastatic breast cancer. So here's her story for the women in my life.
She's a member of my church, but living out of state while she settles the estate of her deceased daughter--nothing a woman in her late 80s would expect to be doing. I remember about 5 years ago her daughter came to Columbus to help her mom recover from a stroke. My friend's daughter had had annual mammograms for years, and nothing was found--probably due to very dense breast tissue and the location under her arm. But she did have a lot of pain the last 5 years and was being treated for arthritis. By the time she was properly diagnosed the cancer had metastasized to both hips, her spine, liver and lymph system. This cancer is not curable, and no one dies from cancer that stays in the breast, but if she'd been properly diagnosed 5 years ago, she could possibly be alive. That's not a given, however.
All women have been educated about detecting breast cancer and screening--in fact, the lion's share of that money you donate and raise in walks, runs, and selling pink stuff, goes for education and not research that could actually save your life. I've looked at several websites about this and personal stories, and this one is pretty clear. Read the comments.

The Trump demonstrations
Chicago was an appropriate locale for Obama's farewell address. "It’s a violent, one-party city that is collapsing under the weight of its own corruption." (Moses Lambert) And DC is an appropriate place for the Democrats to gather for a march--whether blue church ladies from shrinking urban churches, or chubby boomer nurses and librarians in "pussy" bonnets, or screaming feminists against the unborn--to participate in a Soros funded event against Trump, threaten violence and disruption and party like it's the 1960s. It's the Democrat way.

Bradley Manning's treachery
When the annals of crime are written up describing the "first," or "biggest," I hope they don't list Bradley Manning as a famous female traitor. Bradley was who he always was (and always will be) when he committed treason and through his efforts and insecurity about his sexuality, got people killed. President Obama has given the American people and the American military another poke in the eye. It's a 2-fer. If Chelsea were still Bradley, I doubt this request would have been met. Some other traitor would have gotten it.

Dear Democrats and Liberals, (a meme)
"I'm noticing that a lot of you aren't graciously accepting the fact that your candidate lost.
In fact you seem to be posting even more hateful things about those of us who voted for Trump.
Some of you are apparently "triggered". Because you are posting how "sick" you feel about the results.
How did this happen you ask.
You created "us" when you attacked our freedom of speech.
You created "us" when you attacked our right to bear arms.
You created "us" when you attacked our Christian beliefs.
You created "us" when you constantly referred to us as racists.
You created "us" when you constantly called us xenophobic.
You created "us" when you told us to get on board or get out of the way.
You created "us" when you forced us to buy health care and then financially penalized us for not participating.
You created "us" when you allowed our jobs to continue to leave our country.
You created "us" when you attacked our flag.
You created "us" when you confused women's rights with feminism.
You created "us" when you began to immasculate men.
You created "us" when you decided to make our children soft.
You created "us" when you decided to vote for progressive ideals.
You created "us" when you attacked our way of life.
You created "us" when you decided to let our government get out of control.
"You" created "us" the silent majority.
And we became fed up and we pushed back and spoke up.
And we did it with ballots, not bullets."

Journalists for Hillary to gather and grieve
Heard on the news that "Journalists for Hillary" are having a conference on how to lick wounds and eat their own vomit. They need a 12 step program for their addiction. Their pro-Obama hyperbole shows no abatement even though his administration set the record for hostility toward media--and not just Fox. They will probably have workshops on new ways to blame Trump for Ferguson, Baltimore and Oakland burning. Poverty, welfare and unemployment stats will be more of a challenge ...as good jobs replace part time retail and restaurant careers; they'll find those trends in pre-Trump administration. They'll scour the tips for people dying because their insurance lapsed for their untreatable, fatal illness. Journalists ridiculed, lied, made up fake news and, by golly Miss Molly, they are not going to back down now and start being the free press the Constitution guarantees us.

Socialism

Socialism, Communism and Fascism are triplets birthed from the same 19th century European womb of Lady Statism. It is where government must forcibly control industry, unions, church, the press, academe, and personal thought and morality. In the 20th century Communism (USSR and its satellites, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Cuba) and Fascism (Germany, Italy and some parts of Africa like Uganda and Rwanda) were responsible for probably 100 million humans condemned to “death by government.” It wasn’t war casualties from WWI and WWII--these millions were citizens killed by their own government. Take all the wars from the beginning of recorded history, whether religious, tribal, monarchy or cultural, and you won’t come close to the losses of the “enlightened” 20th century. The USSR imploded with the help of the famous freedom triplets--a president, a prime minister and a pope. Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and John Paul II.
A country’s safety net for the poor, elderly and disabled is not socialism; providing transportation systems, public education and military protection or border security is not socialism; forcing everyone, including the middle class, wealthy and self insured in the country to purchase a product on threat of fine or jail such as inadequate and overpriced health insurance IS SOCIALISM; forcing the general public to submit on threat of jail to national bathroom regulations IS SOCIALISM; allowing hateful speech and disruptions of events for a white president as just first amendment rights, but not a black president IS SOCIALISM.

The Trump Haters

When I think of the Obama supporters who have berated me for my blogs the last 8 years calling me a racist and complaining I should just give him a chance. And now they want to disrupt the inauguration, march and demonstrate, call names and get hysterical. Now who are the haters? I'm so ashamed of some of my unhinged friends. At least I wrote about policies--failing, socialist policies. Trump has threatened to save babies, to keep out terrorists and fight drug trafficking. He's unhinged Washington, even the Republicans because it is a closed club, not responsible to the people who voted for them. What low income or minority American is better off because they had the emotional boost of a black president? Only if they are celebrities who performed at his events or worked in the investment companies he favored. The Trump haters are like a lynch mob with media support--they won't stop until they've killed someone and blamed him. I thought they went round the bend with Bush, but it's an addiction.
Gather your little Democrat club and go march and demand change in Chicago. It's all theirs. Hasn't been a Republican administration in my life time. You can really get that 60's feel you old timers are looking for.

Chicago by Moses Lambert
"Chicago was a perfectly symbolic setting for Obama to give his last official speech; the city is a petri dish of the failed radical policies Obama attempted to impose on the country as a whole.
Of course, Chicago was an appropriate locale for the goodbye address. It’s a violent, one-party city that is collapsing under the weight of its own corruption.
Ruled by his White House chief of staff, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, in 2016 there were 762 murders in Chicago, more than all the murders recorded that year in New York City and Los Angeles combined.
There were 4331 people shot in Chicago in 2016, up from 3550 in 2015, in a city where politicians blame inanimate objects, instead of criminals, for homicides and work relentlessly to deprive helpless residents of their Second Amendment rights.
Chicago is a so-called sanctuary city that goes out of its way to shield illegal aliens from immigration authorities and make their lives as comfortable as possible at the expense of everyone else. Obama protégé Emanuel is a strident, in-your-face supporter of the sanctuary city movement that gave illegal aliens permission to rob, rape, and murder Americans.
Chicago’s debt has junk-bond status and residents are fleeing the city in droves in search of greener pastures.
It is home to failing public schools made worse by the militant, rapacious Chicago Teachers Union and spectacularly unsuccessful public housing complexes.
They should really just rename Chicago “Obama City.” "

The Future
My sister-in-law sent me this guy's summary, which he says came from Singularity University summit. Very interesting, and some you've heard before. Those in the automotive field particularly need to pay attention--things are changing more quickly than you can say, "retirement." Technology is wonderful, but it does come with challenges. I watched what it did to my profession (library science) 25 years ago. At first it was fun; when I left I was just tired of relearning my job every day.
I (Udo Gollub) just went to the Singularity University summit and here are the key learnings.
In 1998, Kodak had 170,000 employees and sold 85% of all photo paper worldwide....
Within just a few years, their business model disappeared and they got bankrupt.
What happened to Kodak will happen in a lot of industries in the next 10 year - and most people don't see it coming. Did you think in 1998 that 3 years later you would never take pictures on paper film again?
Yet digital cameras were invented in 1975. The first ones only had 10,000 pixels, but followed Moore's law. So as with all exponential technologies, it was a disappointment for a long time, before it became way superiour and got mainstream in only a few short years. It will now happen with Artificial Intelligence, health, autonomous and electric cars, education, 3D printing, agriculture and jobs. Welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution. Welcome to the Exponential Age.

It will now happen with Artificial Intelligence, health, autonomous and electric cars, education, 3D printing, agriculture and jobs. Welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution. Welcome to the Exponential Age.
Software will disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years.
Uber is just a software tool, they don't own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world. Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don't own any properties.
Artificial Intelligence: Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world. This year, a computer beat the best Go player in the world, 10 years earlier than expected. In the US, young lawyers already don't get jobs. Because of IBM Watson, you can get legal advice (so far for more or less basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. So if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% less laywyers in the future, only specialists will remain.
Watson already helps nurses diagnosing cancer, 4 time more accurate than human nurses. Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans. In 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans.
Autonomous cars: In 2018 the first self driving cars will appear for the public. Around 2020, the complete industry will start to be disrupted. You don't want to own a car anymore. You will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination. You will not need to park it, you only pay for the driven distance and can be productive while driving. Our kids will never get a driver's licence and will never own a car. It will change the cities, because we will need 90-95% less cars for that. We can transform former parking space into parks. 1,2 million people die each year in car accidents worldwide. We now have one accident every 100,000km, with autonomous driving that will drop to one accident in 10 million km. That will save a million lifes each year.
Most car companies might become bankrupt. Traditional car companies try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels. I spoke to a lot of engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; they are completely terrified of Tesla.
Insurance companies will have massive trouble because without accidents, the insurance will become 100x cheaper. Their car insurance business model will disappear.
Real estate will change. Because if you can work while you commute, people will move further away to live in a more beautiful neighborhood.
Electric cars will become mainstream until 2020. Cities will be less noisy because all cars will run on electric. Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean: Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can only now see the impact. Last year, more solar energy was installed worldwide than fossil. The price for solar will drop so much that all coal companies will be out of business by 2025.
With cheap electricity comes cheap and abundant water. Desalination now only needs 2kWh per cubic meter. We don't have scarce water in most places, we only have scarce drinking water. Imagine what will be possible if anyone can have as much clean water as he wants, for nearly no cost.
Health: The Tricorder X price will be announced this year. There will be companies who will build a medical device (called the "Tricorder" from Star Trek) that works with you phone, which takes your retina scan, you blood sample and you breath into it. It then analyses 54 biomarkers that will identify nearly any disease. It will be cheap, so in a few years everyone on this planet will have access to world class medicine, nearly for free.
3D printing: The price of the cheapest 3D printer came down from 18,000$ to 400$ within 10 years. In the same time, it became 100 times faster. All major shoe companies started 3D printing shoes. Spare airplane parts are already 3D printed in remote airports. The space station now has a printer that eliminates the need for the large amout of spare parts they used to have in the past.
At the end of this year, new smartphones will have 3D scanning possibilities. You can then 3D scan your feet and print your perfect shoe at home. In China, they already 3D printed a complete 6-storey office building. By 2027, 10% of everything that's being produced will be 3D printed.
Business opportunities: If you think of a niche you want to go in, ask yourself: "in the future, do you think we will have that?" and if the answer is yes, how can you make that happen sooner? If it doesn't work with your phone, forget the idea. And any idea designed for success in the 20th century is doomed in to failure in the 21st century.
Work: 70-80% of jobs will disappear in the next 20 years. There will be a lot of new jobs, but it is not clear if there will be enough new jobs in such a small time.
Agriculture: There will be a 100$ agricultural robot in the future. Farmers in 3rd world countried can then become managers of their field instead of working all days on their fields. Aeroponics will need much less water. The first petri dish produced veal is now available and will be cheaper than cow produced veal in 2018. Right now, 30% of all agricultural surfaces is used for cows. Imagine if we don't need that space anymore. There are several startups who will bring insect protein to the market shortly. It contains more protein than meat. It will be labeled as "alternative protein source" (because most people still reject the idea of eating insects).
There is an app called "moodies" which can already tell in which mood you are. Until 2020 there will be apps that can tell by your facial expressions if you are lying. Imagine a political debate where it's being displayed when they are telling the truth and when not.
Bitcoin will become mainstream this year and might even become the default reserve currency.
Longevity: Right now, the average life span increases by 3 months per year. Four years ago, the life span used to be 79 years, now it's 80 years. The increase itself is increasing and by 2036, there will be more that one year increase per year. So we all might live for a long long time, probably way more than 100.
Education: The cheapest smartphones are already at 10$ in Africa and Asia. Until 2020, 70% of all humans will own a smartphone. That means, everyone has the same access to world class education. Every child can use Khan academy for everything a child learns at school in First World countries. We have already released our software in Indonesia and will release it in Arabic, Suaheli and Chinese this Summer, because I see an enormous potential. We will give the English app for free, so that children in Africa can become fluent in English within half a year.
From Facebook post.

The Blue (Democrat) Church Ladies
I read that the blue church ladies are going to march in DC to protest President Trump. My loyal, to the death, Democrat friend is marching in solidarity with others who just can't imagine life without Obama. Their beliefs could classify them as a cult--hysterical, closed minded, bigoted fundamentalists, worshiping leaders with feet of clay and hands outstretched for tax money. They are late to the party. The real church ladies have been marching for life in DC in the freezing January cold for the last 40 years. They march to save the unborn. The same reason they and I voted for Donald Trump. Although Trump's not well known as an advocate for life, we're hoping he'll make the right decision for SCOTUS appointments. Could be our last chance. We know Ms. Clinton's stance--anytime, any sex (but mostly female), and especially if minority or disabled. She stated it clearly in the debates. Deplorable, that's her.
Planned Parenthood isn't just a killing field, it's a money laundering scheme with tax money returned to Democrat candidates and causes. There are 13,540 non-abortion, federally-funded health clinics that serve low-income, medically under-served populations in the United States in comparison to 665 Planned Parenthood centers. Do you really think poor women will suffer if that half a billion in our tax dollars benefits them and their babies in federal free clinics instead of PP which charges huge fees? If you do, you're blind and deaf or marijuana is legal in your state.
