Born in the USA lyrics read by Glenn Beck
Now that's a sobering experience. Heard Glenn in the car this morning; he was reading Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" aloud. You've got to love how celebrities get rich off of kids by denigrating the country that's made them wealthy and famous. Politicians too. Particularly the ones in power right now. I don't know whose story about Viet Nam Springsteen's telling in the song, but it wasn't his--he got classified 4F by acting crazy for his physical, according to Wikipedia, which of course, is not a real source, but I'm not interested enough to look further. [Disclaimer: the post time has been adjusted so the TT stays on top.]

So you no longer prefer knowledge to awareness? It sure must have been easy to fool a draft board, even in the middle of a war. Who would have thought it?
I have no idea what you said. But you weren't addressing my point, I know that.
I may be a bit late in this reply, but I feel your satement about, "celebrities getting rich off of kids by denigrating the country that's made them wealthy and famous. Politicians too"
is a common misunderstanding of the songs (and others like its)intention.
Its not denigrating the USA but rather the state it has become, its calling out the hypocracy of the most powerfull country in the world failing to support those who are most vunerable and pretending that everything in the USA is just fine', even when its own soldiers can't get work. Whether he was a soldier matters not if he is using his position to speak for those who can't.
Hiiiiii Norma,
I see you are at it again.
Pres. Gee
