The aftermath of the Kirk memorial

Don Lemon, formerly of CNN, wasn't happy with the over 100,000 who turned out to memorialize Charlie Kirk, according to a brief clip I saw. He's desperately afraid of the First Amendment. You know, the one that guarantees him the right to sleep in on Sunday and talk smack all he wants. I wonder if he noticed millions were attending church that same day, and no one seemed to show alarm at that.

Joe Biden closed down our churches and schools (technically it was governors) and most haven't recovered. Did Lemon complain? Nearly all churches have returned to in-person worship since the lockdowns ended in addition to their online services. Yet most churches still have not returned to their pre-pandemic attendance rates. Maybe we'll see an uptick, maybe not. But it wouldn't be a bad thing for people to return to regular church attendance. Interestingly, 23% of pastors of small churches (fewer than 50 in attendance pre-pandemic) report being up to 90%-100% of pre-pandemic attendance rates! This is much higher than for larger churches. (Lifeway Research)

Yesterday, I watched the Kirk memorial prelims and then 7 hours of the memorial itself. I'm feeling grief and sorrow for the likes of AOC, the Squad, the View, Jimmy Kimmel, Tim Walz, Kamala Harris and all the "leaders" elected or not of the Democrats. They know so little and have missed so much. In a nation of winners, they are losers. In a nation of abundance of good will and honorable people, they are poverty stricken, they are beggars with empty cups. It's so sad.

Kirk means church

Charlie Kirk's message was the same words our pastor used in a letter to the congregation, "The way of Jesus is the saving alternative to the cycle of escalating violence in which everyone loses." The word KIRK means church. Charlie offered facts and evidence to answer the lies of his enemies who stalked and threatened him. He told them about Jesus. Unfortunately, there are people in many churches that hate President Trump so much, that they'll not hear the message of Kirk or anyone else who admired or worked for the President. In fact, without the filter of MSNBC or CNN or the liberal MSM they'd probably never heard Kirk speak on campus or at a conservative gathering. We supported his organization "Turning Point" primarily for Kirk's pro-life and pro-family views, including his outspoken facts about sexuality. We didn't listen to his podcast. We missed a lot. Some, including the New York Times are rushing to correct the lies they printed or said.

Words actually are violence, even with the guarantees of our First Amendment. "For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery," Mark 7:21. The week before Kirk was killed, there was the murder of the Ukrainian woman, the murder of a retired veterinary professor at Auburn walking her dog, and the murder of an elderly couple in Queens who were tortured, killed and set on fire. Maniac who killed elderly NYC couple inside their home makes chilling admission  And shortly before that children were murdered in a Catholic church during Mass. Three of the men were black with criminal records, and prior charges, released into the public to commit more crimes by liberal judges. Two of the men were white and had their minds twisted by leftist lies about sexuality, supported by the Democrat party. Christians should be speaking out about why half the nation votes for the people who allow this.

Be Charlie. Make a difference

MSNBC has fired Matthew Dowd for being a hate-filled SOB for what he said about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. I've never watched him, never knew he existed to spew lies to the public. Did he ever listen to Charlie Kirk? Charlie believed in Jesus and preached it without apology. He believed that marriage was between one man and one woman and that one's sex cannot be medicated or surgically mutilated into changing to the other. He believed in American values and cared about the issues that affect young people--like abortion, economy, war. He challenged young people to think critically. When he talked to young adults he treated them with respect and with the truth. He believed in the first amendment--freedom of religion and freedom of speech. That first amendment is an anathema to Democrats and other leftists "serving" in Congress. As a teenager he had a dream that the future of conservatism was with the youth, And he changed the direction of our nation. It's why they hated him. Be Charlie. Make a difference.

The Debate between President Trump and Joe Biden

The Democrats' idea of free speech guaranteed to Americans in the Bill of Rights is very fluid.

In 2021 you could lose your career if you advocated the use of Ivermectin, a safe, legal, low cost treatment for parasites which also acts as an anti-viral.

In 2024 you can verbally abuse Jews and threaten their right to exist with no fear of arrest or career damage but lose your job for saying a man is not a woman.

Remember that when you watch the debate tonight. It's back to basics . . .

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

The left manipulates language

While the government (Biden administration and the regulatory agencies it controls) steals pronouns that used to have meaning, it makes nouns like racism and terrorism so common that they have become meaningless. All these changes are directed at their enemies--Republicans, conservatives, independents and constitutionalists so that they can no longer speak except with great caution and fear. It's really a violation of the first amendment. Destroy the words and the enemies are muzzled.

They've also added phrases where a single word or two used to have meaning. . .
  •  "lack of access,"
  • "assigned at birth,"
  •  "health disparities,"
  • "people of color," "Black lives matter" (but no one else does),
  • "trust the science,"
  • "people who were formerly incarcerated," or
  • "persons who are not securely housed."
And they've bungled the use of phrases we thought we knew, but when looking at data, we find out they've been massaged and manipulated--like
  • "hate crime,"
  •  "anti-Semitism,"
  • "holocaust denial" or
  • "food insecure."
Then they created words that are incomprehensible for the average person like
  • cisgender,
  • transgender,
  • malinformation and
  • misinformation.
We've recently seen that major "conspiracy theories" were used by the government against all sensible, thinking people to the right of the Clintons.
  • The virus DID come from a lab leak;
  • masks didn't stop the SPREAD of the virus;
  • Hunter's lap top was REAL and not Russian misinformation;
  • and UFOs have been renamed, but are now being talked about in the OPEN.
It's the same motive as changing words. Words are powerful--and unfortunately the government and all its buddies in NGOs, academe, Big Tech, Big Pharma, and MSM are all reading from the same script. Terrorism is only on the rise because it's been renamed and redefined to include concerned parents and traditional Catholics!. Same with racism. Same with hate crime. Same with science. It's all about power.

I don't have a solution, but do have advice. Listen to their words carefully and don't give up your freedom of speech.

The First Amendment has been shredded by U.S. government agencies

"The FBI was not the only one to flag content. The Department of Homeland Security and several state governments notified Twitter of content they thought was problematic. Some of this was done through the Partner Support Portal, an outlet constructed by the Center for Internet Security, a partner organization with the DHS.

"What most people think of as the 'deep state' is really a tangled collaboration of state agencies, private contractors, and (sometimes state-funded) NGOs. The lines become so blurred as to be meaningless," Taibbi concluded."

Religious freedom?

"An estimated 350,000 religious congregations operate schools, pregnancy resource centers, soup kitchens, drug addiction programs, homeless shelters, and adoption agencies. These serve 70 million Americans each year and the value of their services are estimated at over $44.3 billion annually." (Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion, Vol. 12, Art. 3 (2016)) This is from a religious freedom brochure. Considering how these "free" organizations are controlled by government regulations and are then manipulated by their grants to continue their work I question how free they are to worship, speak out, to petition the government, or to hold privately beliefs about marriage, education and business.

The redefinition of marriage

Ryan Bomberger, chief creative officer and co-founder of The Radiance Foundation (Radiance, www.radiance.life), commented on this “redefinition” of marriage, noting that if liberals are intent to define marriage merely by “who you love,” it follows that any kind of union counts as well.

Bomberger commented, “A handful of House and Senate Republicans have handed the Left a dangerous victory — the redefinition of the very institution that every civilization depends upon: marriage. The entirety of the Democratic Party voted to redefine what God designed. The Republicans who voted against their own Party platform, their constituents, the Constitution, and the institution of marriage helped to pass the (zero) Respect for Marriage Act. This bill sues those who won’t comply with a lie.

“The (zero) Respect for Marriage Act and the First Amendment cannot co-exist. They will always be at odds. This is evidenced by widespread Leftist efforts to force religious organizations and people of faith to bow to LGBTQ+ dogma or be fined, fired, de-platformed, sued and/or bankrupted. The ACLU and Lambda Legal have succeeded in shutting down faith-based adoption agencies for who they are (Christians) and who they love (vulnerable children who need a married mom and dad). In government-run schools, such as those where I live in Loudoun County, Virginia, LGBTQ indoctrination trumps reading, writing and arithmetic and students’ safety. Americans of faith, or even no faith, should be deeply concerned when a government starts dictating what we’re able to believe or speak.”

Bomberger continued, “Voters’ moral dissonance is resounding. Hollywood, news and social media have been relentless in swaying the majority (60%) of Americans to support same-sex marriage, yet half (50%) of those polled simultaneously fear the negative impact on religious liberty. Policies have consequences. Bad policies have casualties. What stops the radical Left from legalizing bigamy, polygamy, incestual unions, objectophilia, or marriages between children and adults?

“Love is love, right?”

Bomberger explained, “The legislation’s text starts off declaring: ‘No union is more profound than marriage.’ This is true. Marriage between one man and one woman — and the family (whether biological or adopted) created by that union — is the bedrock of every society. Sadly, that won’t stop a self-identifying ‘Catholic’ President Biden, who blatantly defies Catholic teachings on human sexuality and our fundamental right to life, from disrespecting and dismantling marriage.

“This is just another attempt by the radical Left and ‘Republicans in Name Only’ congressmen to try to control the language by changing the very meaning of words. They also bolster their false ‘equality’ claims by hitching ‘race’ to ‘sexual orientation’ and pretending that marriages like mine (my wife is Greek/Italian, and I’m Nigerian/Ukrainian) are in any way threatened. Marriages of people of different hues of skin are not comparable, at all, to the redefinition of marriage that accommodates two men, two women, and what will eventually have to include polygamous unions or anything else that falls under the #LoveIsLove banner.

“Section 6 of the bill (which acknowledges the First Amendment’s individual religious freedom and conscience protections) actually contradicts the entire purpose of the law which forces persons ‘acting under color of State’ to comply or be sued. Americans who work for the government, like our brave men and women in the military who protect our freedoms, don’t lose their Constitutional rights. There is predictable irony that a ‘progressive’ bill that claims to provide equal protection under the law proudly treats millions of Americans unequally.”

Respect for Marriage Act does not Respect the First Amendment

There is nothing in the respect marriage act that protects marriage. It was already protected in a 2015 SCOTUS decision. What it does do is weaken the first amendment which guarantees religious freedom--makes it easier and legal to attack citizens whose religious beliefs are that marriage is between one man and one woman. It could be Christian, or a religion you've never heard of, since the definition of marriage in all cultures has always been between a man and woman, even if some had polygamy or polyandry.  Don't be whiffed by any mention of church or non-profits; religious freedom means you don't have to be in a church to believe, worship or pray. The last two years have shown us that churches can't protect us. It created what is called a "private right of action" for anyone to sue any government agency, official, contractor, or partner who did not recognize gay marriage. It could, in other words, become a gay marriage lawsuit machine. Republicans have stabbed us in the back again. Sensible amendments were rejected.

Shooting at the gay night club

Did you know that the man who killed the people in the gay club in Colorado along with the limp criminal system that let him roam the streets to murder despite his record of violence are not to blame? No. No. The media hardly mention that. They point to Matt Walsh, Tucker Carlson and Christopher Ruffo--outspoken child protectors who regularly publish and report on breast amputation and castration of children in the name of "queer theory." There are also drag queen and queer non-profits feeding their lies to the media.

Children don't drive themselves to the library to sit and watch men dressed in drag read stories about rainbows and confused toddlers. The libraries (very liberal) and their parents (confused) do that--suckers for the organized well-financed trans and queer (their word, not mine) agenda. Actually, those defenders of children (Tucker, Ruffo, Walsh) are defending our Democracy--to use a phrase the leftists have stolen from us. They are using their first amendment rights to call out a crime against children and a crime against humanity and a crime against civilization. A crime that until about 10 years ago, was recognized by all civilized people. Now the WH Resident recommends it and our usually incoherent non-verbal Vice Harris lauds it.

Soon we won't be able to use logic and Constitutional rights against this crime, just like the I-word and the H-word in fighting the c-word pandemic.

P.S. The man who murdered these people changed his name--male to male--because he had a criminal record. He had threatened to "harm his mother with "a homemade bomb, multiple weapons and ammunition," according to a news release from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office in Colorado Springs." But the Democrats and their lap dancing media mavens want to blame those trying to save children--from the womb to the library story hour.

2nd P.S.  Now he's "come out" as non binary.

Merrick Garland is dangerous--he hates the Constitution

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has taken a law hastily passed over 20 years ago after 9/11 to stop foreign terrorists (Patriot act) and is using it against parents concerned about the health and education of their children. He is arresting, with Joe Biden's approval and lip smacking grin, people protesting killing the unborn, i.e., American citizens using their constitutional rights under the first amendment. He's using government surveillance illegally to stop journalists who report the truth about use of fetal body parts distributed after abortions. It would seem that Garland does not have the best interests of the USA in mind because he has something against the children of our future.

At the same time, Democrats (and a few Republicans like Cheney) in Congress and in the Media are calling Americans "Nazis" and "Terrorists" for using their First Amendment rights, which is the exact opposite of what they charge. They get hysterical when citizens object to green taxes and coercion. They prove to be thickheaded simpletons who don't know world history of the 1930s and 40s or why American blood was shed in WWII. They demean and insult the millions who died under that regime. National Socialism (aka Nazi) is just one of the many offspring and grandchildren of Marx, Nietzsche, and more recently Foucault that have morphed into BLM and CRT. It's alive and well in our leftist politicians. That doesn't describe our patriots and citizens who want children to live and thrive in freedom.

And although I'm so thankful Garland didn't get his chance at SCOTUS having been blocked by Republicans when Obama nominated him, I do think he's trying to punish half the nation for that 2016 "insult." He was unfit then, and a disaster now.

Kennedy v. Bremerton School District and SCOTUS

A Democrat FB-er (rhymes with fibber) claims there are no restrictions from the Democrats on speech and religion. Says it's just a myth. Wonder if he's aware of Kennedy v. Bremerton School Dist., a case that went all the way to the Supreme Court and was just settled in July 2022?

Really? A coach prays privately, after a game, on the field when lots of others were also milling around and expressing their like or dislike for the outcome, but because he prayed, he lost his job. That's not religious oppression? He'd been doing it for years, bothering no one, but some ONE supporting the opposing team complained to his employer. "The District disciplined Mr. Kennedy only for his decision to persist in praying quietly without his students after three games in October 2015."

That he won his case is important of course, but that it ever went that far is a travesty. It shows the harassment of Christians, and religion in general, just like the case against the Nuns who would not pay for birth control coverage for employees and the baker who wouldn't design a wedding cake for gay customers (whom he served for other events) and the florist who wouldn't design arrangements for a gay wedding. There have been so many cases about the first amendment either on speech or religion making it to SCOTUS I'm amazed at the stupidity of those who get offended by someone else's beliefs and are upset that the activity is protected by the Constitution.  https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/21-418 The Decision was 6-3, and guess who wanted to dismiss the protections for religion and speech--yup--Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan--the liberals.

I'm not familiar with the legal terms, but as a life time church member I know "establishment" of a religion or church takes a lot more work and time than praying silently on a football field for a few minutes and absolutely no one could construe that as a government activity or coercion. Except a Democrat.
"Monday’s ruling, Sotomayor concluded, “weakens the backstop” that the establishment clause provided to protect religious freedom. “It elevates one individual’s interest in personal religious exercise,” she contended, “over society’s interest in protecting the separation between church and state, eroding the protections for religious liberty for all.” (SCOTUS Blog, June 27, 2022)
There is no phrase "separation between church and state" in the Constitution. It is written to protect us from the government not the other way around. At least for now, Congress opens each session with prayer.

Why have we turned over our first amendment rights to Big Tech?

"Dr. Robert Malone, a key contributor to mRNA vaccine technology and an outspoken critic of COVID-19 mandates and rules, was suspended by Twitter. Writing on his Substack page, Malone, who had massed more than 500,000 followers, confirmed that his account was "permanently suspended from Twitter" and said, "We all knew it would happen eventually." "Over a half million followers gone in a blink of an eye. That means I must have been on the mark, so to speak," he wrote on Dec. 29. "Over the target. It also means we lost a critical component in our fight to stop these vaccines being mandated for children and to stop the corruption in our governments, as well as the medical-industrial complex and pharmaceutical industries.” (Epoch Times)

"Twitter has permanently suspended Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal account for repeatedly violating the platform’s rules on COVID-19 misinformation, as noted in a report by CNN. Since the ban only affects Greene’s personal Twitter account, @mtgreenee, she can still access and tweet from her governmental account, @RepMTG." (The Verge)

Marjorie Taylor Greene permanently suspended from Twitter after fifth strike | Washington Examiner

"Last week [July 2020], opinion editor Bari Weiss resigned from The New York Times, alleging that the newspaper has fostered a culture in which anyone who so much as tolerates dissenting viewpoints is subjected to professional and social ostracization.

“Twitter is not on the masthead of The New York Times. But Twitter has become its ultimate editor,” wrote Weiss in her scathing resignation letter. “As the ethics and mores of that platform have become those of the paper, the paper itself has increasingly become a kind of performance space. Stories are chosen and told in a way to satisfy the narrowest of audiences, rather than to allow a curious public to read about the world and then draw their own conclusions." (Daily Wire)

"On Sunday, Twitter took down the tweet in which [Scott] Atlas said: “Masks work? NO.” The company said the post violated its policy on Covid-19 misinformation that prohibits “sharing false or misleading content which could lead to harm”.

In a stream of posts, Atlas falsely claimed that several US states and other countries had taken up widespread use of masks without evidence of any positive effect. He also incorrectly said that there were “many harms” to the practice.

Twitter’s move to block Atlas’s public comments is the latest controversy to hit since he joined the White House as a pandemic adviser in August [2020]." (The Guardian)

Is the First Amendment bonkers?

I think the conservative news media are being too hard on Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, for his bonkers comment about the First Amendment. We've got Big Tech shutting down our First Amendment Rights claiming they can do it because they aren't "government." They behave like a public utility then claim their first amendment rights to shut down a sitting president and his 75,000,000 supporters. You've got to admit, that sounds bonkers to all of us who aren't Democrats. We've got governors declaring our churches as non-essential, while allowing tattoo parlors to stay open. That's bonkers. Our freedom of assembly went right out the window at the say so of minor government civil service employees in departments of health. That's bonkers, too, so let's give Harry a break if he finds our First Amendment has no teeth, no consistency and is being tossed about as a political football.

Look back at your isolation this past year

Three years from now, some of you will look back & admit that you spent an entire year of your life wearing a mask, cooped up in your house & avoiding all the people you love.  A year in your life that you’ll never get back.

Every single day is a risk.

Car accident, flu, etc.

Our days were numbered from the moment we took our first breath. Life isn’t a race where we win against the inevitable! That has not changed since the beginning of time!

BUT, we should not be forced to live in fear.

We went from being a free nation to being told we:

couldn’t go to school

couldn’t go to church

couldn’t go to our grandma's house

couldn’t pay respects to a loved one through a funeral

couldn’t leave our homes

...and when we were allowed to do these things, we were told:

how long we could be there

how far apart we have to be

which direction to walk

what to wear

what we can buy/not buy

where we could shop/not shop

whether we could sing/worship/take communion

what time we had to be home

Yes, our health matters.

But you know what else matters?

✅ Family.

✅ Friends.

✅ Church.

✅ School.

✅ Sporting events.

✅ Family vacations.

✅ Neighborhood BBQs.

✅ Life.

✅ Fitness.

✅ Hugs.

✅ visiting the hospitalized

Etc.. etc...

One day, you’ll hug your grandma, mom, dad, or brother for the last time.

One day, your best friend will cry on your shoulder for the last time.

One day, your child will play their last ball game.

One day, they’ll have their last day of school.

One day, you’ll spend your last day laughing with a loved one.

One day, you’ll dance your last dance.

Don’t waste the days you have by living in fear.

Your time here on earth matters.

Live your life while you have the chance.

God is gonna call you home when it’s your time.

Virus or no virus.

Democrats are the real crazies

The black clad rioters on inauguration day 2017 didn't bother the Democrats. Barely got news coverage. Over 200 were arrested.

Hillary Clinton complained for 4 years that the 2016 election was stolen. She appeared on friendly left night time TV whining and moaning and rolling her eyes that she got more popular votes than the President (which no one denied, but it's not our system).

Nancy Pelosi threatened all sorts of mischief and called the President despicable names because of the 2016 election and then settled on a 3 year, multi million impeachment trial.

Maxine Waters called for impeachment because of the electoral college vote in 2016.

Democrats were colluding in 2016-2017 to buy off electors to get them to change their votes.
Women who usually have their wits about them dressed up in pink hats and lady parts and made fools of themselves during the inauguration of 2017.

Mitt Romney tried to buy his way into the cabinet and was rebuffed so he turned on the President.

People in MAGA hats were attacked in pubic places for 4 years.

Jussie Smollet, a prominent gay TV star staged an assault supposedly by "Trump supporters," two Nigerians he'd bought and paid.

So-called cable news reporters for 4 years maligned Trump supporters and the President.

Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the U.S., was raising bail money for Antifa and BLM rioters who were destroying neighborhoods and federal and state property.

And now they are saying we're all in a crazy cult and need to be deprogrammed and the First Amendment ignored because many state election laws were violated due to the pandemic and people returning from the grave to vote! So who are the crazies? The ones reenacting the novel 1984 or the ones who accepted all that crap for 4 years while the country continued to prosper?

A fraction of a tiny fraction attacked the Capitol and Democrats are beating their breast acting like it's the end of the world when they ignored it all during the summer of 2020. The FBI has all those groups infiltrated.  Where were they? The ANTIFA riots are still going on in many Democrat run cities.

The future of our country, musings and opinions

Evi Kokalari, an Albanian immigrant, writes: "When I immigrated to America, I had faith for the first time that my vote would actually count; that when I cast my ballot, I was taking part in a sacred and meaningful process. In light of what has transpired over the past few weeks, however, that faith has waned. What is unfurling in America today has been going on in Albania for decades, and I fear for the future of our democracy."

Evi, I feel much the same. In 2016 with Democrats and crazy pink hat ladies ranting about a "stolen election" I knew they just didn't understand the electoral college and what our founders intended. In 2020, I know it was stolen in the middle of the night with massive fraud, and we're no better than any of those other banana republics we've sneered at.

Combine the election fraud with the failure of our churches to stand up to the government, and I really feel we’re living in a remote jungle in a foreign land.

The year was 1215

The Magna Carta, established the principle that no one, including the king or a lawmaker, is above the law, and establishes a framework for future documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. And yes, all you who jump on your victimhood or identity, it didn't include all people, but the principle was established.

And the First Right in what is called the Bill of Rights includes as First among the Firsts , RELIGION. Religion underpins all the rest--the government can't establish religion and it can't prohibit the exercise of it. Then comes speech, press, and peaceful assembly. We've allowed the governors of the states to shred our First Amendment. Take back your rights. They didn't give us these rights, and we shouldn't have handed them over like helpless children who had nothing to protect us.

The precious First Amendment

Yes, Google is a private firm, and it can censor anything it wants--it is not the government. But it has more power over you than the government and it is a public utility whether or not it has that title. No, we can't assemble and we can't petition--because petitioning the government is useless so it might as well not exist. And where would we assemble if the government has closed everything? Freedom to worship on-line is not the same as freedom of religion. Anyone who speaks against the current myths developed by the left or the intersectionality promoted by academe risks her career and sometimes life. Where is the government in protecting these rights defending us from those who would swarm on social media or on the lawn in front of our homes?
