A week to celebrate, or not?

Churches across the nation should have been celebrating today for the First Amendment victories this past week. But that probably didn't happen because so many congregations have members who only listen to MSNBC, CNN and NPR lie to the nation. The rest have jaded members (like me) who already know that it's a game of whack a mole with the colleges and universities. Their massive DEI bureaucracies for racism in academe won't give up and the "shop for a judge" political hacks will continue to sue the little baker and candlestick maker who doesn't have the resources to fight back.

Freedom of religion (establishment and free exercise) is first among the Firsts. Without it, nothing else matters, and the founders knew it.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

In 21st century America the bureaucracy just gets a non-government agency to deprive people of their Constitutional rights.

Happy July 4.

Biden v. Nebraska (22-506)
The Secretary of Education does not have authority under the Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students Act of 2003 (HEROES Act) to establish a student loan forgiveness program that will cancel roughly $430 billion in debt principal and affect nearly all borrowers. I won't need to pay off someone's student loans.

Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College (20-1199)
The admissions programs at Harvard College and the University of North Carolina violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. Asians being discriminated against; end of affirmative action supposedly.

GERALD E. GROFF, PETITIONER v. LOUIS DEJOY, POSTMASTER GENERAL
Mr. Groff, a Christian, not required to work on Sunday.

CREATIVE LLC ET AL. v. ELENIS ET AL. (21-476)
Lorie Smith, graphic artist, Christian, does not need to serve same sex couples in wedding celebration.

Merrick Garland is dangerous--he hates the Constitution

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has taken a law hastily passed over 20 years ago after 9/11 to stop foreign terrorists (Patriot act) and is using it against parents concerned about the health and education of their children. He is arresting, with Joe Biden's approval and lip smacking grin, people protesting killing the unborn, i.e., American citizens using their constitutional rights under the first amendment. He's using government surveillance illegally to stop journalists who report the truth about use of fetal body parts distributed after abortions. It would seem that Garland does not have the best interests of the USA in mind because he has something against the children of our future.

At the same time, Democrats (and a few Republicans like Cheney) in Congress and in the Media are calling Americans "Nazis" and "Terrorists" for using their First Amendment rights, which is the exact opposite of what they charge. They get hysterical when citizens object to green taxes and coercion. They prove to be thickheaded simpletons who don't know world history of the 1930s and 40s or why American blood was shed in WWII. They demean and insult the millions who died under that regime. National Socialism (aka Nazi) is just one of the many offspring and grandchildren of Marx, Nietzsche, and more recently Foucault that have morphed into BLM and CRT. It's alive and well in our leftist politicians. That doesn't describe our patriots and citizens who want children to live and thrive in freedom.

And although I'm so thankful Garland didn't get his chance at SCOTUS having been blocked by Republicans when Obama nominated him, I do think he's trying to punish half the nation for that 2016 "insult." He was unfit then, and a disaster now.

This election was all about hate for one man

Hate is a powerful emotion. It's more motivational than love, family, power, or money, as I've learned these last 4 years. Although hate for President Trump comes from a number of sources, it's primarily issues on life. Or death, as abortion really is. If you claim that's not your motivation for hating Trump, you're kidding yourself. Just try suggesting the party has gone too far by not protecting the unborn and see how many Democrat friends you have left. It's the hate. For Trump.

Yes, Trump is arrogant, he tweets to skip over the stifling power of the un-elected media, he knocks heads with powerful people who distain those who don't know their place and he says mean things about people who aren't loyal. And he's a patriot at a time when Democrats are overrun by cancel culture advocates and critical race theory proponents spouting death to America. But mostly, he has surprised everyone including me by being the most pro-life President ever--and that even shocked the pro-life Christians who were accustomed to the mealy-mouthed, Bible spouting do-nothings we've elected in the past.

In January, 2017, President Trump reinstated the Mexico City policy (restricts funding for international organizations for abortions). On February 22, 2019, the Trump administration announced that it would not allow organizations that provide referrals for abortions to receive federal family-planning money, which implies a cut in funding for Planned Parenthood (the nation’s largest abortion provider) unless they perform abortions in a separate facility and not refer patients to it. And on May 2, 2019, Department Of Health And Human Services issued a new rule protecting healthcare workers who decline on the basis of conscience or religious conviction to participate in procedures such as abortion or assisted suicide. Trump was the first president ever to personally attend the pro-life March for Life in Washington, DC on January 24, 2020. Pro-life issues figured prominently in the August Republican National Convention. But the bomb thrown into the abortion fire was when the President nominated a mother with 7 children to the Supreme Court, a Catholic with traditional family values sending a loud, clear message to the nation. The mirage of "health care" for women evaporated as Democrats feared the loss of Roe v. Wade, a law which was made up in the courts and not Congress.

The Democrat party isn't the one I knew in the 70s and 80s--they weren't all about death for the unborn, and the selfishness and greed that go with it. It still claimed to care about the poor and weak. But it is all about death now. And hate--because the President exposed them for what they are.

Our new Justice, Amy Coney Barrett

The latest misinformed and evil word from the left is that the Constitution is a racist document. Therefore, Judge Barrett being a textualist or originalist (follows the original meaning) is a racist. The Democrats are out of their minds. They must now pack the nine member court to "save" the country. When they get done, there will be nothing to save. The behavior of the Democrat senators during the Barrett confirmation hearings was bizarre. The President nominates, the senate confirms. Period. The president's term isn't 3 years, it's 4. Obama nominated a judge in his final year, and the Senate refused to hold the hearing process, which was their right. If Obama had had a Democrat controlled Senate, his nominee would have been approved and every whine and lie we've heard from Democrats would have been drowned out by their dance band and party. And we would have had one more judge making decisions on her "lived experience" rather than law.

My regret is that the Republican Senators let this drag out when they could have just confirmed--they already knew everything about her. They risked a last minute Borking or Kavanaugh abuse side show and we would have lost a fine judge. We didn't need another reality show of Democrats behaving badly.

You now have the facts about this nomination

All we need are the facts.  We don’t have to call Fancy Nancy names like lunatic even though she’s gone on national television threatening to impeach the President for fulfilling his duty.

It’s a fact.  This has happened 29 times according to Ted Cruz.  Yes, and each time a president at the end of his term has done his duty, and the Senate did theirs.  Period. Barack Obama did it too—and he lost.  That also happens if the President and the Senate are not the same party.   Democrats and some Republican RINOs like Murkowski and Romney are just uninformed (and suffering from severe TDS) when they say this is unprecedented.  The RINOs are also stabbing their constituents in the back.  The courts, for some, are a bigger deal than abortion or the 2nd amendment. Honor your voters wishes.

It’s also a fact that Democrats are threatening to pack the court.

It’s also a fact that Democrats want to add 2 more states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. to their “quiver” to take over the country.

It’s also a fact that Democrats want to destroy the electoral college so only the major metropolitan areas, which they control (most burning from riots and looting) will have a say in governance.

It’s also a fact that the far left of the Democrat party is pushing the “green new deal.”  If you want to see how that works, take a look at California and Oregon burning from 40 years of bad environmental laws and regulations.

It’s also a fact that Ruth Bader Ginsburg was confirmed in 44 days from nomination, less time than we have now before the election.

So now my friends, you silent lurkers who read my posts every day, you can face your wild eyed friends and family with information.  Let them do the screaming and yelling and the ad hominem attacks.

It was Clinton, not Trump

In 1996, President Clinton signed a law giving the government the power to deny visas to would-be immigrants who cannot support themselves, but it has not been widely enforced. February 25, 2020  Sharyl Attkisson

“The White House on Monday hailed the court's move as a "massive win for American taxpayers, American workers, and the American Constitution."

"This decision allows the Government to implement regulations effectuating longstanding Federal law that newcomers to this country must be financially self-sufficient and not a 'public charge' on our country and its citizens," said White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham in a statement.”

The accomplishments of President Trump that Galli ignores in his impeachment for Evangelicals Christianity Today article

1. The appointment of two Supreme Court justices, 50 judges to federal circuit courts of appeal, and 133 federal district court judges (plus two other judges to specialized courts). All of them are committed to interpreting the Constitution and the laws according to the original meaning of the words and not according to their personal policy preferences. This is a good result of immeasurable benefit to the future of the country, for it guarantees that laws must be made by elected legislators who are accountable to the people, not by judges who are appointed for life and have no effective accountability to the people as a whole. Many of these judges will serve for decades to come.

2. Significant tax cuts that have resulted in remarkable growth in jobs and wages. The good results are already seen in the paychecks of millions of workers, with the highest percentage growth occurring in low income jobs, the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years, and the lowest black and Hispanic unemployment rates ever recorded.

3. Massive elimination of wasteful government regulations, giving a strong boost to business and job growth.

4.  Strengthening our military with passage of the largest defense budget in our history.

5. Standing up to China and firmly opposing their long-time theft of our intellectual property, including much copyrighted and patented information.

6. Moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and in general being a strong friend of Israel.

7. Supporting laws and actions that protect the unborn child’s right to life, including permitting states to defund Planned Parenthood, reinstating and expanding the Reagan administration’s Mexico City Policy which halts funding to groups that promote abortion overseas, strengthening conscience protections for individuals and organizations that have sincerely held religious beliefs about the sanctity of human life, and requiring insurance companies to disclose to customers if their plans cover abortions.

8. Building as much of a truly effective border wall as could be built in the face of intransigent opposition by Democrats.

9. Withdrawing from the misguided Paris Climate Accord, which would have significantly increased energy prices in the U.S.

10. Issuing executive orders that protect religious freedom, such as rescinding the Obamacare HHS mandate that forced groups such as Little Sisters of the Poor to provide access to abortifacients through their health care plans or face massive fines, finalizing new rules that protect the rights of conscience for pro-life medical professionals, and the Department of Justice issuing 20 principles of religious liberty to guide the Administration’s litigation strategy and protect religious freedom.

11. Revoking the Waterways of the U.S. regulation, which wrongly took control of millions of acres of people’s private property

12. Gaining approval for the Keystone pipeline, the Dakota access pipeline, and oil exploration in a tiny section of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

13. Finally retaining energy independence for the United States (we now produce more energy than we consume)

14. Rescinding Obama-era regulations that required schools to allow biological boys to enter girls’ restrooms and locker rooms in high schools

15. Driving ISIS out of large areas that it had controlled in Iran and Syria

17. Supplying Ukraine with needed weapons to defend itself against Russia

18. Persuading several NATO allies to increase their defense spending

19. Protecting freedom of speech on public university campuses by denying federal funding to institutions that do not protect student speech.

20. Promoting more ability for parents to be able to choose their children’s schools by appointing Betsy DeVos, a veteran school-choice advocate, as Secretary of Education.

Clarence Thomas and the racism of the Democrats

"At the time of his confirmation, the public was twice as likely to believe Justice Thomas over Anita Hill (55% to 27%), and 58% favored his confirmation. Today, only 30% of Americans believe that he should have been confirmed, and 38% say he should not have been."
https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/12/23/clarence-thomas-tells-his-story-in-a-new-documentary

I don't have a problem understanding what happened. The media and academe. They try to damage any black who leaves the plantation. They try to convince Americans that blacks who aren't Democrats are unfaithful to the "values" of America. What it really is, is the Democrat style of racism. And in all cultural venues, academe, entertainment, news media, tech giants that control social media--Democrats rule. You can hardly get hired if you don't toe their line.

I was still a Democrat in the 1990s, and I was shocked to hear a colleague at the university say that the only reason Bush nominated Thomas was because he was black! I thought I'd never heard such a racist comment. It took me a few years, but I eventually figured out the subtle racism of the Democrats--my party! I was a slow learner. I eventually left the party because of abortion, but then learned what was under my nose all the time.

Boys will be boys

It was judges and bureaucrats writing regulations who decided that the word "sex" which refers to a biological fact in our laws which primarily protect and promote females, was interchangeable with the concept of "gender" which originally was a term for grammar. Gender identity is just what it implies-- a fluid term with no basis in fact or biology. The wording in our equal opportunity laws was never intended to include biological men in women's athletic events, pronouns forced on others or bathrooms.

If an adult white man can identify as a woman, he can also identify as an American Indian, or a 15 year old disabled kid who needs special treatment. Our Congress needs to change the law based on evidence so we have clarity instead of law suits and confused teachers and employers.

I'm not even that comfortable with SCOTUS, another group of judges, making this decision on who gets to change the law.

The Dred Scott case

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OML9AVR10PQ

Democrats (7) on the Supreme Court decided Dred Scott wasn't a citizen worthy of rights--just as now Democrat led states are deciding that third trimester unborn babies are not citizens worthy of rights and protection. When their ugly legislation passed, they cheered and lit up buildings. To their credit, those 7 judges didn't say Scott wasn't human—just unfit and inferior—sort of what they say about full term babies.

The investigation is finished—414 pages

Now where does Justice Kavanaugh go to get his reputation back?

“In addition to Ford, Kavanaugh and the three witnesses Ford named — who either denied any knowledge of the alleged incident or directly refuted her claims — the committee spoke with 14 former classmates of Ford and Kavanaugh. "None of them had any knowledge of the conduct alleged against Justice Kavanaugh by Dr. Ford or of the gathering at which she claimed to have been assaulted," the committee states.”

Quite a comprehensive investigation. About Ford, her drinking and party lifestyle, one person reported: " “I wish I could say all of the things I know, but I don’t want to put myself out there.”

I don't blame her. The shameful way the Democrat senators acted, I would never want to be called to testify in traffic court, let alone a SCOTUS confirmation. And no wonder the names are redacted.  They’d never be able to eat in a restaurant or pump their own gas again.  That’s how evil and poisoned the Democrats made this.

I understand that Christine Blasey Ford plans to write a book (for a lot of money).  How?  She can’t remember anything!  She needed marital counseling to even come up with lies!

Relax liberals

Although I'm not sure this will assure my Democrat friends and relatives, Brett Kavanaugh will probably not bring any change to the leftward list of the last 60+ years of SCOTUS decisions. Beginning with Earl Warren (when I was in high school and during the 40 years  I  was a Democrat) we've had an activist court. Americans have become very comfortable with being told what to do by the highest court. Democrats are never disappointed with their presidents' SCOTUS picks; Republicans always are with whom their presidents chose.

Joseph Mussomeli at the Imaginative Conservative outlines the picks and pans. Eisenhower gave us Warren and Brennan; Nixon gave us Blackmun and Powell (Roe v. Wage and California v. Bakke); Ford's appointee John Paul Stevens helped strike down "a moment of silence;" Reagan's Sandra Day O'Connor often disappointed conservatives; GHW Bush's David Souter also sided with liberals; GW Bush's John Roberts supported Obamacare.

So relax liberals, Democrats, Progressives and Communists. Call back your witches, the Antifa, the Pink hatted haters. Stop the caravans invading. The court always leans left, even if it's not as fast as you desire.

Guest Blogger Jeffrey outlines flaws in Ford’s story

A quick summary of Ford's credibility:

She refused to hand over the results of her polygraph.

She refused to hand over her 2012 Therapist’s notes.

She said she was afraid to fly, but has flown dozens of times.

Since she did in fact fly, she offered no other reason for the politically beneficial delay she insisted on.

She said she wanted anonymity but contacted WaPo multiple times.

Said she got advice from “beach friends” but didn't mention that the primary one was a former FBI lawyer, Monica McLean, who worked for Preet Bharara, a man Trump fired.

She also failed to mention, when talking of her Beach friends at the hearing, that Monica was sitting right behind her.

She had a perfect memory of 1982 but couldn't remember basic things from the previous 10 weeks.

She'd been drinking.

She changed the year of the alleged attack.

She named 4 people, but had no backers.

She couldn't remember how she got home even though her story had her escaping a house far from home, pre-cell phone.

No friend ever said "Hey you disappeared, where did you go? How'd you get home?" No one got an unexpected call from a payphone to pick her up.

She gave no location or any details that could be researched for verification.

She never told anyone of the incident nor claimed PTSD prior to Kavanaugh's name circulating 30 years later.

She said that she put the 2nd door on her house because of PTSD, but evidence shows it was to get around zoning laws to create a rentable apartment.

She said she didn't know that Grassley offered to come to her, even though it was broadcast nationally.

She feigned no knowledge of polygraphs even though her ex’s sworn statement said she'd coached Monica McLean how to beat it in the 1990s, and in any case her profession should have at least well acquainted her with it.

She claimed it was a repressed memory, something that is rare, disputed by experts, doesn't fit this profile, and is often conflated with the far more common false memory.

She co-authored a paper on repressed memory creation years before she claimed to have one.

Nothing is known of her pharmacology, but given her past alcoholism, her visits to a therapist and her general presentation, odds are high that it's extensive.

She scrubbed her social media, preventing checks on her credibility and biases.

We know from a pussy hat photo that she was rabidly anti-trump. The hat puts her in a 1-2% subgroup of extremists.

Extremists in general are not known for honesty or clarity of thought, but rather paranoia, which can lead to delusions and false conclusions. This subculture in particular is known for being "easily offended" which is often in fact, falsely offended.

She had zero family or friends with her, not from the 80s nor from today. She was surrounded only by Democrat Party Handlers.

Constant cries of bravery and “nothing to gain” vs a $700,000 GoFundMe and a career boosted a la Anita Hill. An instant hero within her chosen subculture.

Literally, all there is her word vs all of the above. Not a shred of evidence.

Desperate Democrats

“Like sharks thrashing about in chum-filled bloody water, the unhinged hysterics of the progressive left have gone into a feeding frenzy as they prepare to attack whomever President Trump nominates to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. Thanks to Kennedy’s retirement, Trump is now in a position to appoint a non-activist, strict constructionist to the Court. Senate confirmation of the nominee will result in a solid, reliably conservative Court majority.

Needless to say, the Democrats in the Senate and their leftist supporters view this as the coming of the Apocalypse. But it was the triumphant Democrats who, during the heady days of the Obama administration, changed the Senate rules to allow judicial confirmations to proceed on a simple majority vote. Thanks to their lack of foresight and the existing bare majority of Republicans in the Senate, they are facing a tough uphill battle. So we should expect the desperate Democrats to resort to every device and artifice to slime, smear, destroy, and defeat the nominee.” George Parry

Democrats vow to fight ANYONE Trump appoints

The attacks aren’t new.  1987 and 1989. Bork and Thomas.  30 years of liberals attacking conservatives and the Constitution. "The left’s attack on Bork had gone far beyond mere good-faith intellectual or ideological disagreement, devolving instead into “intellectual vulgarization and personal savagery,” “profoundly distorting the record and the nature of the man.”" (Commentary) And Justice Thomas described his nomination process as a "high tech lynching." Bork's experience became a verb--borking. Nastier than anything on social media in 2018, but it was 30 years ago. Ted Kennedy's lowest, ugliest point in his career, outside of Chappaquiddick.

Thankful the president isn't Clinton

The Democrats will continue to drag us kicking and screaming into some wasteland of Marxist gulag, but I think it has been slowed down just a bit. And maybe that little girl who survives the abortion mill will someday be president of the United States. Hollywood and academe still have conservatives locked out, and they are huge forces in the culture.

Washington Post throws a bone occasionally on the Opinion Page (8 out of 9 news articles are anti-Trump--it's owned by Jeff Bezos). This article brings out the big benefits, like the courts, that we have with President Trump.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/this-thanksgiving-im-grateful-hillary-clinton-is-not-president/2017/11/22/68bafc9a-cee7-11e7-9d3a-bcbe2af58c3a_story.html?

"While the Supreme Court only hears about 80 cases a year, the federal appeals courts get final say on about 60,000 — and because Democrats ended the filibuster, they can’t stop Trump from filling those courts with conservative legal rock stars. The Senate has already confirmed eight of Trump’s nine appellate nominees — the most this early in a presidency since Richard Nixon – and Trump will appoint plenty more before his first term expires."

Also, Paris Climate agreement, freeing Americans in foreign prisons, putting some teeth into that red line Obama drew, EPA walk backs, removing shackles from the military, standing up to North Korea, and improvement over the softy and mushy Obama approach to foreign religions.

You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows

Justice Alito warns Catholics and other Christians about the coming storm. Speaking to a group of Catholic lawyers and judges who promote church social teaching, Alito used his own words from his dissent in the Supreme Court's landmark same-sex marriage case, telling the gathering he had predicted opposition to the decision would be used to "vilify those who disagree, and treat them as bigots."

"In a roughly 45-minute speech that mentioned the Founding Fathers and 19th-century French writer Alexis De Tocqueville as well as Dylan and the 1960s TV sitcom "The Flying Nun," Alito discussed the hostility faced by Catholics in the U.S. over the centuries, and of his own joy as a youth staying up until the wee hours of the morning to witness John F. Kennedy elected the first Roman Catholic president in 1960.
"I felt it had lifted me up from the status of second-class American," he said.

While religious freedom has been recognized in Congress and in the courts, Alito said, attitudes are slower to change. He recounted a Democratic lawmaker who opposed his nomination in 2005 because Alito would make "too many Catholics on the court."

Alito said reactions to Supreme Court decisions such as the Hobby Lobby case, in which a company balked at being required to cover certain forms of contraception in its employee health plan, should spur action.

"We are likely to see pitched battles in courts and Congress, state legislatures and town halls," he said. "But the most important fight is for the hearts and minds of our fellow Americans. It is up to all of us to evangelize our fellow Americans about the issue of religious freedom." " http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/03/uss_dedication_to_religious_liberty_being_tested.html

Justice Scalia on Obergefell (same sex marriage): "Today’s decree says that my Ruler, and the Ruler of 320 million Americans coast-to-coast, is a majority of the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court. The opinion in these cases is the furthest extension in fact—and the furthest extension one can even imagine—of the Court’s claimed power to create “liberties” that the Constitution and its Amendments neglect to mention. This practice of constitutional revision by an unelected committee of nine, always accompanied (as it is today) by extravagant praise of liberty, robs the People of the most important liberty they asserted in the Declaration of Independence and won in the Revolution of 1776: the freedom to govern themselves."

What will Democrats try next?

They've tried just about everything. Crying on camera on election night. A recount by the biggest loser, Jill Stein. Demeaning the Electoral College. Trying to buy off electoral voters to change the count. Dressing up like vaginas and parading through Washington. Blacklisting Ivanka's clothing line. Quoting the Bible. Quoting the Constitution. Dog whistles of fear and panic to frighten immigrants. Speaking out at award shows as though they don't read lines for a living.

Now the media and the Democrats have agreed on the President's mental health as an issue. And they ignore the reason THEY LOST (media lost even bigger than the Democrats). The voters liked what Trump said he would do. Supreme court conservative choice. Repeal the unaffordable Affordable Care Act. Reduce regulation and red tape for business. Create jobs. Correct immigration failures by the previous administrations. Bring back American jobs. Defund Planned Parenthood.

The only people acting mentally ill are the Democrats in Congress, their lap sitters in the media and the rent a mobs on the streets blocking traffic and shouting at Town Hall meetings. Trump just goes ahead doing what he promised--making America great again.
