Marblehead-Lakeside Lighthouse Festival
After a gray start, the skies cleared on Friday and we had an eyeful of glorious color on our way to the Lake. Dinner and breakfast with good friends, and then the craft fair, where I helped out some local artisans by over spending.
Saturday was partly cloudy but made it to the mid-60s. Even with limited sunshine, the fall colors were brilliant on the way home and we enjoyed the drive. We were noting political yard signs. In small rural towns along Rt. 4 there were almost no Obama-Biden signs; many Romney-Ryan. These people are really hurting and are not willing to give this failure 4 more years. But in Lakeside, the blue Obama signs are blooming. A sweet community of good hearted people who are heavily academic and "public servant" 2nd home owners with comfortable pensions. Talk to anyone who has a small business--they'll tell you what Obama’s doing to the country.

Joe Biden’s biggest slip of the evening
Good ol’ Joe. You can count on at least one big, huge, massive gaffe. I thought this one was the biggest slip of the evening--claiming the WH had no knowledge of the security requests when millions of people watched the hearings on Wednesday which laid it all out. It made Obama look like a fool who'd been hanging out with Letterman and Jay-Z instead of minding the store. Oh wait. He was!
Two State Department officials admitted in Congressional hearings under oath that those requests were denied. Eric Nordstrom, the top regional security officer in Libya during the summer, testified that Charlene Lamb, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, turned down his request for more security. Also, during the hearings it came out that no one who was in Benghazi had reported the video was a problem nor was there a protest going on—and everyone in the State Dept. knew it was a planned terrorist attack, yet Obama, Clinton and Rice continued to stir up hatred in the Middle East with that ridiculous story. A week later Obama was still telling tales at the U.N. And the filmmaker is in jail on trumped up charges.
First, Biden blamed the intelligence community for the administration’s confusing public explanations of the 9/11 anniversary attack in Benghazi, Libya. Moderator Martha Raddatz asked Biden directly why administration spokesman “were talking about protests” in Benghazi. “When people in the consulate first saw armed men attacking with guns, there were no protesters. Why did that go on?”
“Because that was exactly what we were told by the intelligence community,” Biden said. “The intelligence community told us that. As they learned more facts about exactly what happened, they changed their assessment.” . . .
But it was what Biden said next that made that answer so interesting. Raddatz turned the debate to Iran, saying: “There’s really no bigger national security issue facing this country.”
Biden, in an attempt to parry an attack from Ryan, suddenly expressed his belief that the U.S. intelligence community is omniscient. There’s no need to consider war right now, he argued, because “we’ll know if they start to build a weapon.”
So the same intelligence community that failed to deliver information in its possession about the attacks on Benghazi is suddenly so all-knowing on Iran that we needn’t worry about the mullahs going nuclear?

Joe IS a Cafeteria Catholic
Vice President Biden essentially laid out the pro-life position of the Catholic Church, of which he is a member, and then he proceeded to talk about how he violates it.

Christians for Mitt (Facebook)
Thank you, Lord, for calm, substantial grace and dignity again in our rising American leaders, Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan. Help us, Lord, with this crisis of character and competence that has befallen our nation. Amen.
(Writer’s opinion: It's a shock to see a man like Joe Biden as the Vice President of our nation. How could men like this, with such indignity of manner and thought, be occupying positions of highest leadership. We are truly in a crisis but God is raising up real Americans, again. Proverbs 29:9, "If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only the rages and laughs, and there is no quiet." But the discerning know wisdom, and the Lord shall rise with us, as we rise for Him.
My opinion: Biden’s behavior was bizarre, however I think it really resonates with Democrats who have no character or principles in their platform or program. We can’t expect good manners from people who boo God.
Mark Levin’s opinion: Martha Raddatz was awful, stepping all over Paul Ryan's statements. Joe Biden was off his meds, flailing with his hands, interrupting, repetitive, and whiny, which is what most of his base has wanted. And Paul Ryan was calm, cool, and collected, with a better second half in the debate.
Joe Pags opinion: As Al Gore would say, "the debate is over." My Thoughts.. As expected Martha Raddatz, was biting and on the attack with Ryan -- seemed to give in more with Biden. I thought she was going to be fair at first, but then she was what I expected she'd be -- a shill for the Obama admin. Even as Biden begged for even time, fact is, he got nearly two minutes more than Ryan. I guess Obama got Raddatz a nice wedding gift.
RNC Chair Reince Priebus : Vice President Joe Biden interrupted Congressman Paul Ryan "82 times" during the debate.
Dana Show: Ryan's job tonight was to set up Romney for next debate. Biden's job was to clean up Obama's mess from the last one.
Michelle Malkin: Pundits and news anchors are expressing post-debate shock at how smirky, condescending and arrogant Vice President Joe Biden was tonight. They buzzed on Twitter at his “malarkey” rebuke of Paul Ryan’s foreign policy criticism.
Peggy Noonan: Last week Mr. Obama was weirdly passive. Last night Mr. Biden was weirdly aggressive, if that is the right word for someone who grimaces, laughs derisively, interrupts, hectors, rolls his eyes, browbeats and attempts to bully. He meant to dominate, to seem strong and no-nonsense. Sometimes he did—he had his moments. But he was also disrespectful and full of bluster. "Oh, now you're Jack Kennedy!" he snapped at one point. It was an echo of Lloyd Bentsen to Dan Quayle, in 1988. But Mr. Quayle, who had compared himself to Kennedy, had invited the insult. Mr. Ryan had not. It came from nowhere. Did Mr. Biden look good? No, he looked mean and second-rate. He meant to undercut Mr. Ryan, but he undercut himself. His grimaces and laughter were reminiscent of Al Gore's sighs in 2000—theatrical, off-putting and in the end self-indicting.

The families of the murdered men feel differently
They want answers. Yesterday’s hearings were a start. . . but we still don’t know who gave the order to start blaming a video for a cover up.
Features of the Obamaphone (humor)
Via the always brilliant People’s Cube and Chicago Boyz:
It automatically rejects calls from people with a different opinion. Every time you take a picture, it produces a grimmer image of America. It doesn’t have a plan; it just keeps telling you how bad the other guy’s plan is. When it crashes, it blames your previous phone. All 3 AM calls go directly to voicemail. It has a really useless app called “Biden.” Pairing it with another device sucks all the energy out of the other unit. Type in “job search” and it gives you directions to the welfare office. The navigation feature covers all 57 States. The default ringtone for international calls is “I’m sorry, so sorry, please accept my apology.” The healthcare app downloads and installs itself without your permission. When you make a call, a teleprompter pops up to help you speak. Restaurant reviews are all written by Michelle Obama. There are never any winners on Angry Birds. Instagram takes two months to process a photo and you have to fill out 3 PDFs to do so. Paypal app is replaced with ReceivePal app. You can’t find “Jerusalem” on Google maps. It turns all your Facebook friends into enemies and all your enemies into friends. Don’t want to work? There’s an app for that, too. It automatically bows down to phones made by foreign companies. When you watch a YouTube video, a US ambassador gets killed. When you dial “home”, it calls Kenya. As opposed to the iPhone, it’s called the mePhone.
Abortion is not “reproductive health”
It’s sure death for the baby, but what about the mother? So why do Democrats push abortion as a “health” issue. It’s anti-health. And our government is trying to export it and fund it for black and brown women in developing countries.
- subsequent preterm birth;
- placenta previa (a complication during pregnancy where the placenta partially or totally covers the mother’s cervix and which can cause severe bleeding before or during delivery);
- subsequent suicide or suicidal ideation;
- major depression;
- substance abuse;
- anxiety;
- sleeping disorders;
- breast cancer as a result of the loss of the protective effect of a first full-term pregnancy;
- miscarriage;
- ectopic pregnancy;
- and death.

Big Obama Bird
On Tuesday, at a rally for Obama here in Columbus, Ohio, the performer chose to play something new: the theme song for “Sesame Street.” Interesting that Obama is taking this so lightly. Sort of like on September 12, 2012, after the State Department knew it was a terrorist attack that killed our Ambassador and 3 other Americans and he took off on the campaign trail to get chummy with Beyonce and Jay-Z and Dave Letterman for another big fund raiser with celebrities.
Charlene Lamb, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State yesterday testified she’d listened to the whole account in real time. Col. Wolf, a Utah National Guard Green Beret, said they knew it was not a mob but a terrorist attack immediately.
So why the focus on Big Bird, except he doesn’t take this seriously? He’s still so cocky he thinks he won that debate despite what his staff have told him? The crowd was confused. . . they already knew Big Bird wasn’t playing well for him.
New York Times political correspondent Jeff Zeleny also tweeted about the audience's surprise at will's creative interlude. "At Ohio State, will.i.am picks up Big Bird theme, playing Sesame Street song as a warm up act for Obama. Crowd looks confused."
will.i.am.'s lighthearted throwback to Romney's earlier remarks weren't the only time Big Bird and "Sesame Street" made news Tuesday, as the production team behind the show, the Sesame Workshop, issued an official statement written to both political campaigns — though directed at the Obama campaign regarding their new attack ad that features Big Bird — requesting that any mention of Big Bird in their respective advertising be immediately removed.
One of the reasons they don’t want the focus on Big Bird or Sesame Street is the extreme wealth and the salaries of the CEOs. I think the guy in the costume makes $400,000 a year—definitely a 1 percenter.

The hearings on Libya
What transpired yesterday In Congressional hearings (Libya security and terrorism) which I watched on C-SPAN to avoid the analysis and commercial breaks, shows a much bigger coverup than Watergate. Even the most devoted Obama supporters, if they watched it, should be alarmed.
Now the whole world knows we were lied to about the 9/11 events in Benghazi, and a massive cover-up took place from either complete incompetence or political motives surrounding the coming elections. No one believes Obama is dumb or Clinton lacks experience, so that only leaves the election. Watergate was about political power, but no one died. In Benghazi not only Americans died, but others around the middle east as outrage spread from the lies being told. Individual careers lower down the ladders are probably now at risk. Charlene Lamb, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State, obviously is one who works by the book and clearly denied additional security when it was requested, but I also noticed that although the men being questioned were for the most part allowed to put their answer in context, she wasn't. "Yes, or No, m'am." Patrick Kennedy, Under Secretary for Management U.S. Department of State, looked foolish also. Both insist no one influenced their response on the cause--terrorism or video. But Lamb’s own account of the evenings events (ambassador walking outside with a Turkish guest, and there were no disturbances shortly before the attack) pretty well puts a lie to any mob being at fault.
. Although I never cared for him, Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) was amazing. He was always speaking out against Bush and the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, now he’s really laying it on Obama for extending it. Over a year ago he said Obama’s offenses were “impeachable.” And that good old boy from Western Penn. also. Made me think of FB conversations on 9/12 where we'd all figured out it wasn't the video. He all but put the buck on Obama's desk.
As Obama, Clinton and Rice continued to go on national/world TV and blame an American video maker, riots happened in many cities (doubt anyone actually saw it, only heard of it). Civilians died and were injured; our embassies and ngo's were put at risk by their careless words and misplaced desire not to speak against Islam. Plus the media used it to slam Romney, who has been proven right. The media has egg on their face and blood on their hands.
Romney was right to speak out; but it is Obama who shoots and takes aim later, by announcing and apologizing for a video that had nothing to do with it, information they all say came from “intelligence sources.” Who isn’t clear, but I suspect Clapper will take the fall for Clinton and Obama.

Raddatz the debate judge is Obama’s buddy
Do you think there is a conflict of interest? If Mrs. Romney had a sorority sister working for a Fox News panel, do you think that wouldn't be brought up every night?
"Martha Raddatz (ABC) has a connection with Barack Obama going all the way back to their days at Harvard. They worked on the Harvard Law Review together, and Obama attended her 1991 wedding. Fast forward to the present, and President Obama has appointed Raddatz’s husband, Julius Genachowski, to the Federal Communications Commission. Genachowski is also an Obama campaign bundler, meaning that he is a major fundraiser for the president’s re-election effort. That storyline alone raises questions of corruption and rewarding political supporters with powerful federal posts. Yet ABC insists that Raddatz has no conflict of interest in moderating the debate." Yard signs and bumper stickers
This comment was left on another web site. He didn’t give the name or source, just thought it made some sense.
I think that one reason we aren’t seeing as may Obama bumper stickers and signs is that people don’t want to look like complete idiots. I know I do it, if I see someone with a bumper sticker I try to see who is in the car and I shake my head and give them a look like they are stupidest person I’ve ever seen. I mean would you want people to know that you are so ignorant that you would make a colossal mistake TWICE?
Vandalism is the reason for the lack of Romney gear. Obama supporters are a bunch of thugs. If you don’t agree with them they get you since they have no rational argument.

Big Bird isn’t hurting
It’s interesting to see the hype about mean old Romney clobbering Big Bird. Children’s [Television] Network could easily stand on its own without any assistance from the taxpayer. Now it’s bigger than Disney. Should we be fund raising for Disney? Sprout was created in 2004—with Comcast and Apax, a global venture capital firm that invests in telecommunications, not unlike the one Mitt Romney was associated with years ago and which is regularly demonized in Obama ads.
Children's Network, LLC, doing business as PBS KIDS Sprout, operates a preschool destination available on television, on demand, and online for kids aged two to five, and their parents and caregivers. The company’s digital channel follows the day of a preschooler from breakfast to bedtime with its interactive programming and original hosted blocks. It also provides on demand services for younger children. The company offers its services through digital cable and satellite television in the United States. The company was founded in 2004 and is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Children's Network, LLC operates as a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation. http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=24178721
And in July 2012:
Preschoolers will have six new shows to watch on Saturday mornings starting this weekend on NBC.
The Peacock Network will launch “NBC Kids” Saturday, a new three-hour block from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that aims to address developmental needs of preschool children and to promote healthy lifestyles.
When Comcast acquired NBC Universal last year, it joined forces with Sprout, the first 24-hour channel for kids ages 2-5 and their families.
The channel has been available via Comcast since its 2005 launch, but “NBC Kids” will be the first opportunity to see these shows for families who aren’t customers of the cable provider. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-07-05/news/32555218_1_nbc-universal-peacock-network-nbc-kids
And Apax. . . and Sandy Wax, President PBS KIDS Sprout
Apax Partners LLP is a global private equity and venture capital firm, headquartered in London. The company also operates out of eight other offices in New York, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Tel-Aviv, Madrid, Stockholm, Milan and Munich. The firm, including its various predecessors, have raised approximately $35 billion (USD) dating back to 1969. Apax Partners is one of the oldest and largest private equity firms operating on an international basis, ranked the seventh largest private equity firm globally.[1] . . . As of the end of 2007, Apax had invested in approximately 340 companies in all stages of development. . . . One of the firm's co-founders, Alan Patricof, was an early investor in Apple Computer and America Online (AOL). [Wikipedia]
Sandy Wax, president and general manager of PBS KIDS Sprout, the first 24-hour TV channel dedicated to little ones ages 2-5. “As content creators, we’re constantly challenged to think about how technology changes the ways kids watch and interact with television.” Since launching in 2005, Sprout has generated more than a billion video-on-demand orders while seeing consistent ratings growth. It’s now the number one kids’ TV brand in the country, ahead of both Disney and Nickelodeon. http://www.mainlinetoday.com/Main-Line-Today/October-2012/Power-Women-Sandy-Wax/

Father Maletta’s October 7 sermon on religious liberty
Conservatives are excited. Bump in the polls after the debate. Keep in mind the 6 point bump John McCain got after announcing Sarah Palin as his vice president. Now is not the time to become complacent. The lies in the ads here in Ohio (we’re a swing state) are amazing, shameless, and very large. The Chicago Axe (Axelrod) is doing all he can to destroy Romney’s character.
We still have 30 million Christians not registered to vote. Be sure to listen to Father Maletta's sermon on October 7. It's inspiring. Because we were created to be in relationship with God, if your candidate is wrong on life and marriage, the other social issues won't matter much.
