And just how do you expect someone to survive in today's world without a frig or A/C. No frig: no food saved from the one shopping trip a week (if you're lucky) but daily trips to the store instead. No A/C and in the lovely warm weather we've been having [but I'm betting you probably don't believe in global climate change, so the record high temps must be a fluke) the poor, especially the elderly poor, start dying And sometimes people become poor gradually, as the job they had moves overseas, and the new one they find pays only minimum wage, with no benefits. So it's off to the food bank to get a few weeks worth of groceries, and hope that you can juggle the bills, to keep the electric paid, so the frig still works. Look at the income figures over the past 30 years. The rich are getting richer, the middle class is losing ground.
What's really sad is that someone with an edu email address believes and touts such bunk.

Who said the poor are living without refrig and AC. Certainly not the gov't statistics. Are there some who don't have it? Yes. We're looking at percentages and statistics. Bill Gates has a bazillion things I don't have. You are looking at the gap, not poverty. So according to you, I am poor and I was really poor in 1970s when I didn't have AC and only one phone and no cell phone or microwave and only one car.
