"Amine el-Khalifi, 29, was picked up while carrying an inoperable gun and a fake suicide vest provided to him by undercover FBI agents posing as al-Qaeda associates, U.S. officials said. They said he entered the United States when he was 16 and was living as an illegal immigrant in Arlington, Va., having reportedly overstayed his visitor’s visa for years. . .
Before heading for the Capitol, Khalifi prayed Friday at the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Northern Virginia, but he was not a regular worshiper at the mosque, according to Johari Abdul-Malik, the prayer leader at Dar al-Hijrah. . .
The man thought he was being assisted by members of the al-Qaeda terrorist network, but they were really undercover FBI agents, officials said."
Good job, whoever the undercover agents were.
Read story here in WaPo.
el-Khalifi probably got free lunch at school when he was a teen. You don't need to be a citizen, and no one asks questions.

You don't hear much about al Qaeda anymore. Do you think that whacking 4 heads in short order diminished the size and status of the terrorist group? YEP!! Remember 8 years ago??? Every other news broadcast was about the terrorist's getting ready to hit this country. Thank you to the brave military and other men on the ground who have infiltrated the groups. And all other parties who permit this work to happen.
So free lunches cause terrorism?? If you had to eat that stuff, you might be headed for the deep terrorist end too. But that was 15 years ago...
Nancy, I had no idea you had no sense of humor. I've been blogging about draconian rules for school lunches. I notice that although your man BO is willing to blame Bush for everything that happens to him, he didn't give him any credit for all the terrorists intercepted during his term. He's such a narcissist.
Free lunches don't cause terrorism, but they might just contribute to ingratitude, a sense of entitlement, and resentment toward the government. But if he was 16 when he illegally entered the country, he probably didn't go to school.
