The Constitution guarantees due process for American citizens. The drone program used against Americans is illegal. Where are all those pro-bono, hot-shot lawyers who rushed to Gitmo to protect the rights of non-Americans who were captured in combat? (Whom the president has left in limbo, by the way.)
I ticked off 17 problems with his first year, and remember, in those days he was still against gay marriage.

Gitmo should be closed. It is a black eye on America, and the reason Obama could not close it is because the Republicans stood in his way. And at some point it's not worth spending anymore energy on. When I was in Amsterdam last year, and talked to people from around the world, the common complaint was that we should not have Gitmo. It remains a pox on America, and the Republicans in their desire to not allow Obama to do anything is the cause of the problem, they opened it under Bush, and they refuse to close it.
Your guy had a Democratic congress, and he spent his good will on Obamacare, which 83% of Americans didn't want. He gave lip service to Gitmo, and Illinois, his home state, really didn't want those guys to compete with the gangs (and governors) who helped elected him.
How quickly Democrats forget Obama's promises, failures, flip-flops.
To Anon, I remember he said we would get healthcare for more people, and we got it. I remember he said he would get us out of Iraq, and we are out. I remember he said we needed more jobs, and the 700,000 lost per month under Bush has turned to 200,000 or more gained per month. He got Bin Laden, saved the auto industry and has the country well on the road to recovery in spite of one giant repub barricade. You have obviously never had a job where it took years to fix the things that were on your fix-it list after the first month you were there.
Nancy, the republicans are wimps and you know it, and couldn't block a fly--especially not during his first term. He got the hated Obamacare without one single republican vote. With 10% of the country without insurance (not without health care since everyone has that by walking into the ER) he chose to destroy what we have, just because he wanted the power. He didn't save the auto industry--he stiffed the people who had their pensions invested in it. He lies about jobs by including the temporary census workers and those added with temporary ARRA money (mostly government workers). He has tied up the investments with useless new regulations, and a health law that is so complex and obtuse that it is creating a whole new industry of people explaining it. 6 of 8 Bush years were Boom--and the CRA created the bust.
Is Nancy counting the 2,000 military killed in Afghanistant in 27 months, compared to the 2,000 killed in 6 years of Bush? He stalled all during 2009 while things got worse, and when he finally did approve a surge, it was with far fewer troops with disastrous results.
