The issue with using an "improved" measure of BMI in a BMI calculator is that it might be divorced from previous studies which establish correlations between certain levels of classically-calculated BMI and all-cause mortality and certain diseases like Type II Diabetes. A classical BMI calculator might thus still be preferred depending on the case at hand.
