$100 million from DOJ to fight sex trafficking

One of the issues with the Border Wall (which Democrats used to support) is sex trafficking and trafficking of children. DNA tests show that many of the children of "family groups" are not related, and the kids are passed around. Leftists whine about cages, but don't seem to worry about trafficking. The women are being trafficked, and probably make their handlers more money than drugs, which can't be reused. So when Trump announces that his administration has had about 8x more arrests for sex trafficking (aka slavery) than Obama's the left just howls. First, they try to make it a women's rights issue (how lame) and second, they just hate him so they paste a Pinocchio nose on him based on tweets.

I haven't exactly determined how the money spent differs between Obama and Trump, and it wouldn't make any difference since James Little would find a corresponding cartoon article on the left denying it, but the recent figure is that DOJ has awarded more than $100 million to combat human trafficking and assist victims is reliable and here's a list of the grants, just in case you want to check if any of these agencies are near you. My problem with some of the recipients is they are leftist organizations sopping up federal money who have no particular value system that includes this issue.

https://ojp.gov/newsroom/pressreleases/2019/ojp-news-10082019_a.pdf?

Another problem with the list is that about 80% appears to go for training, task forces, information, marketing, "collaborative models," evaluations and salaries. Sure, you can't run a program for abused women and children without trained staff, but I sure would like to see more go directly to the women who need to rebuild their lives--you know, the basics like rent, food, medical care and job training. All the things they didn't have that may have pushed them into the trade. What happens in these cases, the church non-profits pick up the slack and scramble to assemble bedding, cleaning supplies, food, and winter coats.

On pundits, panderers and presidents, guest blogger Michael Smith

"All the pundits and Sunday show hosts are going the "Can you name just one time another president issued a national emergency order like Trump's order?" route.

It is a dishonest question.

Might as well ask, "How many presidents have issued a "Declaration of a National Emergency and Invocation of Emergency Authority Relating to the Regulation of the Anchorage and Movement of Vessels" (Clinton)?

The right question is this, "Is the issuance of a national emergency for the border crisis in accordance with established law and procedure?"

The answer to that question is "yes".

The next question should be, "Have any other presidents moved funds from one department to the other without the authorization of Congress to fund a pet program?"

The answer to that question is also "yes" - Obama did it to fund the provision of Obamacare that compensated insurance companies for losses associated with the law.

I don't like this type of governance - but to try to claim that Trump's declaration is wrong just because it was Trump issuing it is simply wrong. No president needs any act, agreement, permission or definition from Congress or anybody else to issue such an order under this particular law.”

"If the media can't see through hoaxes and misinformation like what BuzzFeed published, that Nathan Phillips perpetrated on the Covington Catholic kids or what Jussie Smollett just did, how likely is it they could spot some Russians trying to interfere with an election?

The freaking Russians and Chinese have the US media right where they want them. If either of these countries were running operations to disrupt the US and sow political discord, just exactly what would they be doing different to what the US media is doing?"

Democrats don't share the values of immigrants and refugees

Why are Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer so determined to go back on their word about the Wall? Why are they now failing native born Americans--especially blacks? The 2020 election. In raw numbers, Pew Research projected 32 million Hispanics will be eligible to vote in 2020, compared with 30 million blacks. Hispanics now outnumber blacks and the attention they get from Democrats show that. The population of Asians eligible to vote will reach an estimated 11 million in 2020, which is more than double the 5 million who were eligible to vote in 2000, accounting for 5% of next year’s electorate.
So Democrats will grovel, lie and smear to suck in Hispanics which are from dozens of countries and they are primarily white. The Anti-Wall hysteria, not the pro-Wall common sense is the new racism--on the part of Democrats. Don't let that happen. Sanctuary cities are hot beds of crime for illegal crime syndicates. Democrats want to destroy the family values of Mexicans, Ecuadoreans, Venezuelans, Hondurans, etc. values that include religion, children, strong work ethic--all the reasons they came here, legally or illegally.
Millions more Africans came to the U.S. as legal immigrants in two decades than the 300,000 who came as slaves in 300 years. Many are Muslims--their family values and their experience with oppressive governments should make them Republicans, not Democrats. Africans have little in common except skin color with native born black Americans--not even President Obama had any roots in that period of history.

Who’s the racist; is the Wall racist?

The President is accused of being a racist by his enemies because of the travel ban for groups originally targeted by Obama and the Wall, which several years ago Democrats agreed to fund and high profile Democrats like Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer are on video strongly advocating for it.

Neither Muslims or Mexicans are a race--one is a world wide multi-ethnic religion, the other a nation of multi-ethnic people who speak a European language--Spanish--and are 60% white. The U.S. is 70%. There are also many middle-easterners and Asians coming in through our porous southern border, especially where there is no wall/barrier/fence. If they would vote Republican, that original 20 billion the Dems approved would be there tomorrow.

The Democrats continue to demonize people as racist, ignoring the KKK in their closets and roots. They are eying 2020 and have nothing for the nation but old, failed socialist policies like higher taxes and freebies.  Now they've declared a red hat, a slogan, obscure words, teen-age boys, Catholics, and all of Western Civilization racist. They've examined every idiomatic expression for dog whistles and racism, from “rule of thumb” to “union of man and woman” to pronouns,  to the names of sports teams.

National Socialism, aka Nazi, is extreme statism, when a government takes control of a business or sector of the economy to benefit the state, like health care, education, etc. Hitler didn’t just target Jews, he  also killed the disabled, gypsies, Christians, Poles, etc.--who were absolutely no danger to him. As far as dividing us--that began in Academe, with now massive, bloated departments devoted to "diversity," aka division. Hitler learned the attacks against Jews from the Turks who used it on Christians, and eugenics from Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. But it was the Communists of USSR, China and Cambodia who really grew mass human destruction (although not as many as legal abortion), but because it is a form of socialism which the Leftists admire, they can only mention Hitler in their tirades against Trump.

Removal and arrest of illegal aliens

In 2017 256,085 illegal aliens were removed from the U.S. , and 57% were convicted criminals. Also in FY2018, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested 158,581 aliens, 90% of whom had criminal convictions (66%), pending criminal charges (21%), or previously issued final orders (3%). The overall arrest figure represents an 11% increase over FY2017. https://www.ice.gov/features/ERO-2018

So maybe you’re thinking, then why do we need a wall if we successfully deport or arrest that many?

1) there are already many sections of the wall protecting major cities, but leaving huge gaps, like near Laredo, TX.  More than 300 Bangladeshi illegal migrants have been arrested by Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents in Texas this fiscal year. https://onenewsnow.com/national-security/2018/06/12/texas-border-sector-arrests-306th-bangladeshi-illegal-this-year

2) why allow them in just to be removed or arrested later at the cost of a lot of manpower,

3) if they have convictions or pending charges, why do you want them living in your sanctuary city in Hispanic neighborhoods or next door to you in Cleveland or Chicago?

Walls, fences, passwords, locks and security systems

I don't know if Meryl Streep’s mansion has a fancy wall around it or not (saw a photo on the internet, but you just never know), but I do know the "open border" liberals I know are not compassionate about others invading their space or belongings. They have locks on their doors, windows, phones; they have fire walls, security systems, passwords; they have their pets tattooed, locks on their bikes, fences made of steel, brick, concrete or even an electric wire to keep out the neighbors' dogs and burglars; they have play pens to keep an eye on their kids, a cloud to take care of their computer documents, a safe to hold their jewelry and guns; they use a fingerprint to open their I-pad, or their office elevator, they have garage door openers--which btw--don't open without the gizmo; they have safe deposit boxes and pin numbers on their library cards and credit cards. My open border friends want aliens to vote, but they personally don't want to pay the taxes if they don't live in my township/city/state which have boundaries. Some open border liberals, particularly the young ones, think there are "safe spaces" with imaginary boundaries where no conservative, Trump supporter, or Republican can wear a red MAGA hat.

Drugs at the border, report of 2016

“Over the past several years, the nation has seen an uptick in the use and abuse of opioids—both prescription substances and non-prescription substances such as heroin. The estimated number of individuals who had used heroin was 914,000 in 2014. Further, about 586,000 individuals (0.2% of the 12 and older population) had a heroin use disorder in 2014. In addition to an increase in heroin use over the past several years, there has been a simultaneous increase in its availability in the United States. This has been fueled by a number of factors, including increased production and trafficking of heroin—principally by Mexican criminal networks.”

“Mexican transnational criminal organizations are the major suppliers and key producers of most illegal drugs smuggled into the United States. They have been increasing their share of the U.S. drug market—particularly with respect to heroin. The United States still receives a large portion of heroin from South America (primarily Colombia) and, to a much lesser extent, Southwest Asia. In order to facilitate the distribution and sale of drugs in the United States, Mexican drug traffickers have formed relationships with U.S. street, prison, and outlaw motorcycle gangs. Although these gangs have historically been involved with retail-level drug distribution, their ties to the Mexican criminal networks have allowed them to become increasingly involved at the wholesale level as well. The bulk of heroin smuggled into the United States transits across the Southwest border. From 2010 to 2015, heroin seizures in this area more than doubled from 1,016 kg to 2,524 kg. This trend mirrors the increase in overall seizures throughout the country. Further, there has been an increase in federal arrests and prosecutions of heroin traffickers. In 2015, for example, the Drug Enforcement Administration made 6,353 heroin-related arrests. In addition, U.S. Sentencing Commission data indicate that from 2011 to 2015, the number of individuals sentenced for heroin trafficking offenses in U.S. District Courts increased by nearly 50%. “

So why all the lies [about the wall] ?

Because lies are effective in achieving left-wing goals. There are people in every political, social and religious group who lie. And there are people within every one of those groups who are truth tellers. But — and this is a “but” whose significance cannot be overstated — while truth is a liberal value and truth is a conservative value, truth has never been a leftist value. For the left, there is always something more important. In this case, it is the humiliation of the president of the United States.

Fact checking the criminality of the illegal aliens

In President Trump’s speech Tuesday, January 8 from the Oval Office:

“In the last two years, ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records, including those charged or convicted of 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 violent killings.”

Trump’s arrest numbers are correct, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement numbers compiled in 2017 and 2018.

The number of illegal immigrants arrested by ICE is the highest since 2014, according to a December report by the agency.

The ICE report says 158,581 illegal immigrants were arrested in fiscal year 2018, and 138,117 of those had a criminal history. This is an 11 percent increase over 2017, when 143,470 illegal immigrants were arrested, 127,992 of them with a criminal record.

“The number of people with pending charges arrested by ICE was 48 percent higher in 2018 than in 2017, while arrests of those with criminal convictions dropped slightly,” Reuters reported.

According to The Washington Post, the report “shows that 145,262 of those deported were convicted criminals and that 22,796 had criminal charges pending against them.”

So why are Democrats against a wall?  They were for it before Trump became president.

The President isn’t going to Davos, and the Democrats have gone home refusing to budge on our safety

President Donald Trump remains at the White House this weekend, saying he is ready, willing, and able to negotiate the end to the government’s partial shutdown, which  we on the right call the Schumer Shutdown, and the need for border security. Many members of Congress, however, have returned to their home states.

Meanwhile, about 800,000 non-essential government workers didn’t get their paycheck yesterday.  TSA is just part of a security plan—but Democrats think it’s OK for aliens, tourists, job seekers, drug lords and human traffickers to walk across our borders and no one to check their backpacks or suitcases. Also, no one is checking for illnesses like TB.

Josee Eric walked away from the Democrats—will vote for Trump in 2020

“I was born and raised in California, San Mateo to be exact. I grew up in a Latino household and surrounded by other Latinos. Like in most cases, most people surround themselves with their own race. If I did not fit in with Latinos, where would I fit in? So naturally, I'd try to act and involve myself with other Latinos. As a legal citizen, I thought it was my duty to help them out.

As I've stated, I grew up in California. Not only was I being influenced by Latinos, but by Democrats as well. They always told me that everyone was created equal, they were going to help Latinos, everyone deserves to be here, etc. I never had a chance to do anything I believed was right because if it they found it wrong, I'd be shamed by democrats or within my Latino community. I had to follow the flow.

Fast forward to 2016, when Donald Trump was running for president. I was taught by those surrounding me that Donald Trump was evil and was racist against Mexicans. The mainstream media, such as Univision, misinformed me and made it seem as Jorge Ramos was standing up for us. As a senior in high school, I believed every word. I did not vote simply because I was too lazy, but I would have voted for Hillary Clinton.

When Donald Trump was elected president, my dance teacher, made it seem like a bad thing. She told us, "I know you're all scared, but we will push through this." She's a nice teacher, so I don't want to look down on her or even offend her out of respect; hence, why I'll stop it at that. I started seeing Democrats on TV being violent almost immediately, I saw Democrats assaulting Trump supporters. It was all chaotic.

What made me go Republican? There was a student in my school who I thought of as very smart and supported Donald Trump. I didn't want to lose a friend so I respected his opinion. He told me his reasons for supporting Donald Trump (I won't give his name for personal reasons). . . and they seemed reasonable to me; however, due to being Latino, I knew I was going to get backslash if I were to admit it.

Then, my government teacher made us all do research on both, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump- including both parties. That's where I've realized that most of my views aligned with the Republican side and Donald Trump. Still, I turned the blind eye decided to stick to Hillary Clinton and the democratic side. Time went by and the same government teacher asked the class what we do if the gay community were to start wanting to get married through the Catholic church. I immediately remembered my mom telling me that God created the male and female for a reason. So I raised my hand and told the teacher, "As a Catholic, [I believe]  God created the man and women for a reason. Meaning, chances are God would not approve of that. I have no problem having them get married through the government and stuff, but if they start messing with our tradition, our faith, then I have a problem." (Keep in mind that I've always questioned my faith, but my Mom is Catholic so I'd consider myself Catholic for her sake.)  My friend told me to shut up because I might get my "ass beat" - he said it to look out for me, not to threaten me.

Now, I've been starting to get really pissed off at the left for all the things they've done. What really made me mad, the final straw, the reason for my walk away were: the migrant caravan, Democrats not wanting to fund the wall, acting childish and then calling the president a child, for not knowing how to respect the president.

I'll admit, I didn't support the wall back in 2016, but after my teacher made us do our research, I've come to realize the wall is necessary.
Worst part about the whole thing, Democrats see me as a monster and say I'm against women's rights, against Latinos, against everything the US stands for. The Latinos, they see me as a traitor, even tell me not tell anyone I'm Latino because I'm dead to them and that I'm an embarrassment to Mexico. The few Republicans have to hide the fact that they’re Republicans because they'll get bashed on as well. So much for freedom of speech. Now I have to know who I can open up to as a conservative Latino. I have to be silent. But it's ok, I'll silently vote for Trump 2020.

This is my walk away story.”

Why the wall matters

$5 billion is pennies for a government that has squandered many billions on programs that have never worked but which will never die, like Head Start. A wall/fence will also not keep out all the bad guys, and yes, it is a political issue because of Trump hatred. Yes, there are terrorists--I mean, let's be real. Why wouldn't they come in under cover that way--they also come in through Canada and valid visas then melt into the population--but we've got our own, so even that isn't the best reason. And yes there is sex trafficking--but also many of the women who come report they have been sexually assaulted along the way on the journey. Why don't they matter to the #MeToo ladies. The men flooding in are the ones who assault them! Why are they encouraged to make this trip dangling benefits in front of them? And what are the motives of the non-profits and party hacks encouraging this dangerous trip? Is it more federal money and population representation for the sanctuary cities in blue states? We Americans have a right to a secure border--we have interfered in the political and civil issues of virtually every country in the world, yet we can't have a say in our own? Democrats/Progressives/socialists and Marxists who are fighting this are not compassionate, caring or looking out for immigrants. They don't want us to be a country. The so-called wall is just their poster child.

“The Secure Fence Act of 2006 budgeted $50 billion over 25 years to control America's borders.  Unfortunately, Congress appropriated only $1.4 billion and forgot about the rest.  The foreign aid request above was for one single year.  Two years of the foreign aid budget spent instead on U.S. border security would create the type of physical borders so common in the countries we are generously supporting.

Fund the world, but not America.”

Reasons to build the wall

The main objections I hear from Democrats about the wall they were in favor of in 2006, but not in 2017-18 (because Trump is president) are, 1) it won't work, 2) the cost, and 3) it's racist. Let's briefly touch on racism. Border security is not and never was, racist. If it were racist all security methods would also be racist. Even the locks on your doors and automobiles. We wouldn't have security at our northern borders or our airports if protecting borders were racism. During the Obama years, Border Patrol was apprehending illegals from high risk countries coming in from Canada (164 in 2011), and they weren't Canadians, most were recent Muslim immigrants to Canada.

If we judged government programs/policies by cost or whether they work, Head Start, which costs about $10.6 Billion in programing and $5.7 Billion in childcare (2017), would have been dropped years ago. No party will even touch that idea.

It was like pulling teeth to get an impact study (begun in 1998, data collection began in 2002, reported in 2010), but after billions and billions spent on Head Start since 1965, the final impact study showed some social and intellectual advancement in the pre-school years which was lost by the end of first grade. The final study, done by the government and analyzed out the wazoo, showed a huge workforce was paid, children had moderate to good day care, better health care, but the goals of the program were not met. The Head Start children on average did no better than the control group which did NOT receive all those benefits of a government pre-school. Even after a decade of study, the conclusion was--we need more study, more analysis, more explanations, and more money.

https://www.acf.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/opre/executive_summary_final.pdf

If high costs and no discernable results are good enough for Head Start for 50+ years, it should be good enough for at least a decade of border security.

Support grows for the wall

“Support for building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border jumped to its highest level on record, Quinnipiac University announced Tuesday, reporting results of its latest poll:

“This is the highest level of support for the wall since the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN- uh-pe-ack) University National Poll first asked the question in November 2016.”

Forty-three percent of voters support building the border wall, while 54% oppose it, according to the national survey of 1,147 voters, conducted Dec. 12-17, 2018.”

https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/quinnipiac-poll-voter-support-border-wall-hits-record-high

This will probably be even more important now if troops are withdrawn from middle east civil wars, internecine conflicts, border wars, etc. and the U.S. stops being policeman for the world. The hawks have been saying for 15 years it’s better to fight over there than at home. We have a border sieve/open back door for illegals who want to harm us to come in with those looking for economic opportunity and the run of the mill drug dealer. They also come in on visitor visas, HB1’s for working high tech jobs, and in chain migration.

I have no idea why Trump decided to announce this on a day of victory and bi-partisanship for prison reform, but he does seem to love keeping everyone guessing, including some of his strongest supporters. Hugh Hewett who started as a never Trumper then went to big supporter, is today scratching his head.

There’s a go-fund me page for building the wall that raised about 4 million in the first few hours. I doubt that it is legal, and that’s a long way from 5 Billion. It really makes no difference that much of what Trump has accomplished was supported by Democrats, they hate, hate, hate him, and nothing can satisfy their thirst for his death. I believe the intention is not just to remove Trump, by death, courts, or sabotage from the media with fake news and constant harassment, but to also get rid of Pence; then they can install Pelosi. She’s not Clinton, but still has the body parts plus some that have been added over the years. Compared to what’s coming down the pike with Democrats, she’s going to look like a moderate.

She walked away from the Democrats after the 2016 election, guest blogger Etana Hecht from Israel

During the campaign, politics became a passion of mine. I had CNN on all the time, and I loved the debates, loved diving into Twitter and FB conversations, and like so many others I was really excited about having a woman as president. As the elections got closer, I was confident she would win, like so many others. I spent a few evenings before the election with a like-minded friend, making campaign calls in districts that were still considered toss-ups.

My story isn’t unique in the disbelief and honestly, horror, I felt as the day went on (It was morning here in Israel) and the results started taking shape in a way so many of us had had no reason to expect. I got my kids off to school, stayed in PJs and cried, worried for the minorities who were so disparaged by Trump. I woke up my husband to tell him that Trump won and he laughed like I just told the funniest joke in the world. He gave me my space to be sad, and then together with a good friend of ours, knocked some sense into me over the course of an 8 hour conversation that lasted well into the night.

That was the beginning for me. It took awhile, but slowly I was able to gain some clarity and the clouds cleared. I now hate CNN with a passion. I had been as outraged as everyone else when Trump brought out the phrase “fake news”. I can definitely say without a doubt they are not only fake news, but the levels of dishonesty they resort to for their views is a disgrace to journalism. Fake news doesn’t mean they report something that didn’t happen - it means they’re reporting things that are not news, i.e,- fake news. Or they report things with such a slanted bias, that anyone with any self respect should see right through it and question their motives. The anger I feel towards the mainstream media, and CNN in particular, comes from the shame at having allowed them to dupe me, brainwash me, into hatred. Hatred towards Trump, hatred towards anyone who was associated with him, and anyone who supported him. They made me into an angry, perpetually outraged person and my natural personality is the exact opposite of that- I’m passionate, but also very easy going, I love people and I love having a good time.

As I was navigating my newfound confusion about everything I had thought was a given, I started to look for alternate sources of information, and kind of tried to “reset” my preconceived notions. My hatred for everything Trump was deeply ingrained and I was very very skeptical of anything not anti-Trump for awhile. I still felt a sense of disgust at his inauguration. It was painful to watch Obama hand over the presidency and I felt sorry for Hillary. But that was also when the absolute madness started getting out of control. The marches. The pink hats. Then came the so called “Muslim Ban”, and this is where the media started to lose me. It wasn’t a Muslim ban, it was common sense. I tried to keep some of my “liberal” outrage and jump on the whole “Trump is anti-Muslim” bandwagon, but I couldn’t, because it was so obvious that it wasn’t true. Unvetted immigrants from extremely dangerous and toxic parts of the Middle East are obviously a terrible idea, and it made perfect sense to me to put an end to it until they can figure out a vetting process. Of course, the mainstream media gave absolutely no perspective to the issue. The most they did was have their token pro-Trump commentators on a panel with 5 or 6 anti-trumpers and shout him down. That’s journalism today? That’s debate? They started to look crazy to me, and it only got worse from there. That’s around the time that I began looking for alternative media sources.

The first one I found was a guy named Dave Rubin, who had previously been on The Young Turks, and had left to open his own show. He’s a gay Jewish guy who always considered himself a liberal, or a classical liberal, but leftism and the Democratic party has gone so far to the left, that he no longer aligned with leftist values. His show, called The Rubin Report, hosted all sorts of people for long form interviews. It introduced me to dozens of thinkers and interesting people, but more importantly, it introduced me to ideas and conversation. Real ideas, real debate, real dialogue with people who had no interest in disparaging the person with the opposing view, but rather to engage in thoughtful, nuanced discussion about various topics. It was a breath of fresh air, and I started following many of his guests, which opened me up to the incredible world of alternative media, mostly on YouTube.

From there, I was able to really begin to understand and form my own ideas, my own values and be able to apply those to whatever the outrage of the month was. Instead of jumping on whatever bandwagon CNN and half my FB feed was telling me to jump onto while only providing a small portion of relevant information, I started to look into issues for myself and take in a broad spectrum of views before forming an opinion. Once that happened, I had no choice but to conclude that on a whole lotta issues- I agreed way more often with the actual policies that Trump proposed than the Democrats. I would consider myself a right-leaning libertarian, or a libertarian leaning conservative at this point. Haven’t chosen one yet   ;)

I can’t go into every single example, but let’s take one - the wall. The wall is racist! Right? Not so much… The wall makes as much sense as having a gate around your property. His rhetoric was definitely over the top sometimes, but anyone claiming he said ALL Mexicans are rapists are being shamelessly dishonest. He used harsh language about very bad people as a way to get his message across. The media made it seem like the wall is as bad as taking brown babies and throwing them into a ditch, but stop and think for one minute- America is not anti-(legal) immigrants, and neither is Trump. All the wall would accomplish is forcing asylum seekers to request access to the country legally, as well as doing some badly needed damage to the loads of drugs, weapons, and human trafficking that a wall-less border allows for. Both positives for the country.

Now I’ll switch from what started attracting me to the Republican party to what drove me away, very quickly, from the Democratic party. If I had to choose one word it would be intolerance. The condescending attitudes combined with a touch of hysteria tainted every single conversation and debate, to the point that it’s almost impossible to find someone who still associates and considers themselves a leftist who’s willing to have a civil and honest conversation without jumping to attack the person they’re speaking with.

So many assumptions on the left are based on pure falsehood, that only serves to divide. The idea that minorities, gays, women, blacks, even Jews are under attack, or under some sort of threat posed by the Trump administration is pure garbage based on nothing other than a storm of hysteria whipped up by the mainstream media and even elected officials of the Democratic party at this point. Saying that doesn’t make me homophobic, racist, anti-Semitic, sexist or any other label people might want to slap at me- it makes me realistic.

The best part of this journey is what I found when I started opening my eyes and engaging in conversation with anyone who doesn’t fit the tiny path leftists have shrunk to - I found love, acceptance, tolerance, willingness to engage in ideas that were opposing or even controversial - everything the Left and the Democrats claim to stand for! The only diversity the Left welcomes at this point is diversity of skin color, ethnicity, and sexual orientation, which in itself is actually kind of racist/homophobic/insert here. Just look at how conservative blacks/gays/Mexicans are treated. There is zero tolerance, as seen on your thread, for diversity of ideas, even when the other ideas come from someone who I know for a fact isn’t racist or homophobic- me!

Trump Derangement Syndrome is real, and it’s dangerous. I’m grateful every day that I was snapped out of it and I’m back to my sunny, happy personality now that I stopped believing that every time Trump does or says something, someone will die or the world will end. It’s dangerous because as hateful as they claim the rhetoric is from Trump, it’s actually significantly worse coming from the Anti-Trump crowd who are ironically blinded by hatred. I’ve never seen personal attacks and rhetoric as vicious as we’ve been seeing from the Anti-Trump crowd, and it’s getting worse, not better. The adults in the room have GOT to stand up and say enough is enough, before they destroy everything they claim to protect.

The great thing about this time is, as Dave Rubin says, that the shakeup has provided some seriously fertile ground for thoughts and conversations in the mainstream, and we’re looking at a mass exodus from the Democratic party that really can’t be stopped at this point. They’ve thrown too many Americans off their narrow path, and I don’t see them backtracking and winning them back anytime soon.
It’s a great time to be alive, and an even better time to #walkaway

The southern border wall

The southern border wall is about 1/3 finished, was approved in bi-partisan support over a decade ago (Secure Fence Act 2006). Obama used a different method--deportation, and his administration was active in rounding up criminal aliens, but not those who had violated the law but had been law abiding after getting here, with the exception of false documents, bad checks, no driver's license, etc. There were twice as many deportations in the Obama years as the Bush years. In 2015, catching them at the... border dropped by about half, and of course, many illegal aliens went home during the recession. Since Trump's election, border crossings have gone down again.

Still, the left rages. I believe (as do others) there is a link between abortion and border crossings. The U.S. birth rate is below replacement level and that seriously affects the social safety net that need to be paid for with workers' taxes. Because our government has approved the killing of millions the last 40+ years it now needs to find replacements who can work and pay taxes. At least in the first and second generation our African immigrants (come on a special diversity quota--over a million each decade) and the Mexican and Central American immigrants love their babies and increase our birth rate. It only takes a generation or two to reeducate them to American values.

Dear shrinking and aging Democrats

The wall was voted on years ago, maybe 11 or so, and your team voted for it. It's about 1/3 built. Stop blaming Trump for 16 years of inaction on illegal immigration by Bush and Obama. Your team also voted to go to war during the Bush years, and expanded it through an imperial presidency during the Obama years--no president was at war longer than Obama. This is the mess you left President Trump. Let's see if he can turn your poop into fertilizer.

KURT SCHLICHTER, Townhall, Feb. 2: "So this leads us to the next Democrat lemmingfest as your dwindling contingent in the Senate prepares to go full Thelma and Louise over Judge Gorsuch. Or should I say, Soon-to-be-Justice Gorsuch, because thanks to Harry Reid, your filibuster has been filibusted. He’s getting confirmed no matter what you do. Plus, he’s a great guy who presents well and who normal people will look at and say, “Hmmm. He seems nice.” But please, don’t let something like the fact you have no chance of success and a huge chance that you will make yourself look like complete idiots deter you from your kamikaze crusade to cater to Team Soros. I want you to oppose Soon-to-be-Justice Gorsuch. Loudly. Proudly. Tone deafly. Tell yourself that, “Well, the GOP won the Senate after doing nothing but obstructing Obama, so it’s gotta work for us, too!” Just skip over how the GOP was obstructing stuff that normal people hate, while you geniuses will be obstructing stuff loved by everyone who doesn’t live within walking distance of a feminist bookstore that serves cruelty-free intersectional chai lattes. And pay no attention to the looming 2018 elections where you have 25 seats at stake. It’s all gonna work out fine! Please. Keep doing what you are doing. And we’ll keep luxuriating in that warm bath tub, which we will top off with Chuck Schumer’s tears."

300,000 Californians have moved to Texas to get away from the nonsense we hear at the Globes and Academy, so when the half time preachers get too loud for Super Bowl 51, hit the mute button. That's not what football should be about. I've never figured out what it IS about, but I know it ISN'T having an overpaid, over rated singer tell me what to believe. If Lady GaGa gets all political on us, I expect a quick approval of Gorsuch. Some blondes really are dumb, even if it comes from a bottle.

On the Mike Gallagher show this morning (he had a guest host) I heard a campaign worker for Trump who went door to door for him in blue collar neighborhoods say he thinks Colin Kaepernick put Trump in the White House. Probably hyperbole, but Kaepernick is REALLY unpopular. He's the football player adopted as an infant by white parents who gave him every advantage, and  has now decided he's a black nationalist and loves a Muslim girl.

Monday Memories--the Fall of the Berlin Wall

Last week was the 18th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. In a rather odd sequence of events, we watched it on TV with my parents, who were visiting us in the off-season at Lakeside, Ohio (the only thing more off, gray, damp and chilly at Lakeside is February). They had driven out from Illinois to see what we had purchased in September 1988--a tiny, 750 sq ft home built in the 1940s, still known today as the "Thompson cottage." Dad walked around the almost deserted town looking at the 19th century summer cottages/houses with crumbling foundations, dead flowers, and windows sealed with plastic. I'm sure he thought we were crazy and wondered why he had made sacrifices to offer me a better life than he had. We had a tiny 9" screen TV (broadcast only, with rabbit ears) and the four of us sat on the uncomfortable furniture (45 year old couch, wooden nursery rocker, and a $10 chair I bought at a yard sale) and could hardly tear ourselves away. It was an incredible sight, full of so much hope. I also remember when it went up in 1961.

I'm pretty sure none of us watching that historic event at Lakeside were crediting President Reagan--Mom, my husband and I were all Democrats, and Dad was a Republican who didn't seem to like him much (local football rivalry from their youth). However, "On the anniversaries of the Berlin Wall’s collapse, we should do Reagan the honor of recognizing his prescient leadership that helped to produce that marvelous event." Dinesh D'Souza
