I've now added Pinky's photo sent by a member of his family to this entry, which updated this entry. Pinky the pony taught several generations of children how to ride.

They are moving my office building in a few years (well not the building just the stuff in it) and I have been looking for houses out in the sticks.
I think I'll get one with room for a pony. I've always wanted a pony. Now I am responsible enough and have enough money to properly take care of one.
Be prepared for a long commitment. Pinky lived to be 30 and took his responsibility very seriously. Although I haven't heard of this being a problem with wealthy librarians (smile), there are many people who have acquired horses in recent years who find much to their surprise they eat a lot more than a cat or dog, and the vet bills are way too high. Also, you can't bury a horse in your back yard, so you have to find a slaughter house--and I think animal rights do-gooders have closed most of them down.
Good luck with your move, now that I've added some cheer.
I went back and read both posts. That's wonderful that you were sent a pic of Pinky. Good memories and fun to read about too.
Two of our poodles are white and when they roll over for belly rubs, their stomach skin is pink. I pick on them about their pink bellies, but they don't seem to mind as long a a rub while I'm talking.
Preferring truth to custom, the better to the good, adapt to adopt, reform to revolution, solutions to goals, knowledge to awareness, faith to spirituality. The rules.
