Setting the record straight by Jarod Lennis (Facebook)

"Here To Set The Record Straight"

So disappointed in all the lies, blaming of religion, pointing of fingers, and political agendas that have been spewed all over the news and social media after this historic flood.

First off, I live right down the road from the Guadalupe River between Kerrville and Ingram Texas. I spent the evening after the flood searching for survivors. As the days have passed by I am now out searching in an effort to recover victims of the flood. My point is that I am here and have been knee deep in the horrific disaster.

Warnings *
I was given Warnings from my phone all night long. I went to bed as rain poured down. I was awakened several times throughout the night by my phone giving me an emergency flash flood warning. To be honest, it was annoying. I immediately shut it off and went back to sleep. This is hill country, we get flash floods all the time. No one could of imagined what was coming. It came so fast. The river rose 29 feet in one hour. There is Nothing that anyone could have done.

Emergency Response *
Before I could fully comprehend what happened there were the sounds of sirens and helicopters overhead. Local Emergency response was immediate. Emergency response from neighboring towns was immediate. Emergency response from DPS, Texas Game Wardens, Coast Guard, Military, Search & Rescue, and so many other groups was immediate. Not to mention the incredible amount of local people and local businesses that came out in full force to help in every way possible. Within a day we had people and businesses from all over coming to help in any way they could.

Religion & Politics*
Not one single time as we were digging through piles of debris as big as a house looking for survivors or while trying to recover victims did anyone mention a single thing about blaming religion or politics. All we had time for were prayers over those missing and those looking for the missing. Those out there on the news and social media pointing fingers at local officials and blaming this tragedy on religion and politics should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

In Closing*
If you do not have your boots laced up and on the ground looking for victims. If you do not have something positive to say. If all you are doing is pointing fingers. Then you need to go sit your ass down and shut your mouth."

CyberCemetery an amazing burial ground for defunct government programs

The CyberCemetery is an archive of government web sites that have ceased operation (usually web sites of defunct government agencies and commissions that have issued a final report). This collection features a variety of topics indicative of the broad nature of government information. In particular, this collection features web sites that cover topics supporting the university's curriculum and particular program strengths.  CyberCemetery - UNT Digital Library

Tracking down an artist, Julia Crainer

We brought all our artwork to Columbus on Saturday from our recently sold Lakeside home.  One I had always enjoyed, but didn't have the provenance, had defeated my internet searches. From the signature on the original painting of hot peppers I bought at Cottage Accessories, a little resale store in Lakeside in 2008, I was looking for Julia Grawer. I did find other paintings by that signature, at an Minnesota auction site of radishes, garlic and lettuce.  It had been sold but it did have an enlargement feature for the signature.  When I clicked on that, I could see that the name was Crainer, not Grawer.  The i and the n looked like a w without enlargement.  So I kept looking, and finally found an auction site where someone had left a comment about her:

"Julia Crainer is a lovely artist from Texas who has taught at Coastal Bend College and Concan Porcelain Art School. I have been lucky enough to take a watercolor class with her 3 times. Loved EVERY minute of learning from her. She painted this watercolor of corn which she either grew or bought at the market. Her signature style in some of her prints... is to watercolor...and when finished....add fine ball point pen marks on top in black ink." :D

Once I'd tracked her to Texas I looked for an obituary that mentioned "art teacher," and I found one, very lovingly written by a son. She died November 19, 2015 at 90.
"Julia was born in Bay City, Texas to MacMillan and Gladys Ballard Arrington on November 29, 1924. In Passing, She was undoubtedly greeted after hugging her Soulmate husband Everett, by many of the family, friends, and students that she loved, taught, mentored and inspired in her long, productive, and inspiring life that crossed over previously.

Julia’s life was centered on family and art. When at three she was given paints, her natural gift for art was discovered and encouraged by her gifted parents. Later her talent was recognized by several artists who mentored her. A short autobiography written for a 2010 gallery display of Crainer’s multi-media artwork states,

“…. My life has been too long and full for me to include everyone who has been significant in my life and career, but I must mention Everett Mac and Jim, my dear sons who, along with my Everett, have been the center of my adult life. I thank my family, teachers, students, and friends for all they have done to enrich my life.

I also want to thank God for giving me my gift and a family that encouraged me to use it. As a two time cancer survivor, I also thank God for restoring my health. I believe God gives each one of us gifts that he expects us to use for others and for Him. I was put here to have two sons. As a teacher, I try to help others develop their gifts as many helped me develop mine. I hope to teach as long as God grants me health and life.”

The Lord gave mom over 70 years as a Teacher, 56 Yrs as a wife, 70 yrs as a Loving Mother and almost 92 years of living Life making so many new loving friends along the way.

Crainer’s joy was creating special Art works for her family, but her Artwork is known far beyond her family, friends, and state. Many of her paintings reside in foreign countries and other states.

Texas takes stand on sexual abuse of children through surgery

One should be an adult before choosing for no medical reason a double mastectomy or penectomy with castration and a lifetime on toxic hormones. In fact, I can't even show you a video of the procedure without first declaring my age to some faceless guard at YouTube! I think the medical team and parents colluding on this should lose their license to practice medicine and to parent. The trans agenda can't even agree on terms--it's no longer a sex change, it's not even sex reassignment, it's gender affirmation. How's that for lipstick on a pig.

Texas determines sex-change surgery for minors is child abuse - TheBlaze

ABA (American Booksellers Association) which is even more liberal than ALA (American Library Association) has profusely apologized for outraging its members by sending out "Irreversible Damage," by Abigail Shrier, an extremely well researched and sensible book which includes the premise that there is a social contagion effect of young girls rushing into invasive transition surgeries and medical interventions for gender dysphoria that they are likely to regret later. Listen up sensible people--there is no honor, no common sense, no tolerance for the truth and certainly no freedom of thought, speech or religion on the Left.

El Paso Rally up close by someone who was there--Dionne

"I live in El Paso, TX - a "blue" city that is over 90% Hispanic population. I went to the rally on Monday. It was amazing. The line stretched literally over 2 miles (I know, I stood in it), people started showing up as early as 7 in the mornings even though it didn't start until 7pm; the venue was full to capacity- I produce live shows at the El Paso County Coliseum so I KNEW when I saw the crowd there was no way they would fit (Coliseum holds 8000; fire department squeezed in 10000). 30k+ watched outside on the Jumbo-tron in the Coliseum parking lots, and a bunch of people were turned away once the parking lot was full so they either went home to watch or stood out on the residential streets that were blocked off - I don't know, I couldn't see anything beyond the parking lot because there were too many people and I'm a shorty. (BTW, there WAS one larger indoor venue that would have been more suited for this and help more people....the University's Don Haskins Center...ask them why they didn't accommodate the President.)

Anyway, 45k+ people - about 90% of them Hispanic - wearing MAGA hats. Also black, white, LGBTQ, military, even some peaceful mature democrats all in line braving the freezing wind, laughing joking , talking with each other, to see the President. No fighting, no meanness - not even to the few protesters (and I mean FEW--- we didn't really see any until AFTER the rally when we were coming out. I guess they waited until cover of darkness or were just irritated because of Beto's failed "Rally" down the street). Mexican, white, black, gay, young people, old people, military, law enforcement, men , women... all getting along and supporting each other with a shared pride and love of our country without a SINGLE Democratic leader around to "help us get along" or "protect us" from each other..*GASP!!* who'da thought? ?

I didn't watch the news or the "Media's" version of the rally, but I'm sure it wasn't the picture I just painted. I cant blame them ---it's pretty embarrassing to show visual evidence that you are LOSING the city and demographic you thought you were in control of...I wouldn't show it either if I were them, or I'd definitely dirty it up with some fake stories, fake fights, and maybe only show pictures of the few WHITE people that were there (they made up maybe 5% of the entire crowd) so it would look like a KKK rally."

The political bias on college campuses

Perhaps you aren't convinced college campuses are just birthing rooms for young Democrats?

"In total, Florida public college employees donated $587,454.47 from 2017-2018. Of that amount, 94.8 percent were made to Democrat politicians or Democrat organizations" and, "Employees of the University of Texas have given $1.1 million during this election cycle, more than 92% of it to Democrats." and at Yale "96 percent of these donations went to Democratic political campaigns and committees."

Of course, I think these are voluntary contributions--public school teacher unions (membership required in order to teach) give 99% to Democrats.

How and to Whom?

It seems the advice is "if you see something say something" (serial killer Devin Kelley). How? To whom? Easy to say, hard to do. The lowest scum of the earth in the U.S. has rights that can't be taken away. Who commits a mentally ill person to treatment, and does it work? How do you report a relative who lives under the same roof?   I wonder if Rand Paul had reported his hostile neighbor; did the ex-wife of the TX killer have a worthless piece of paper on file; how many have tried to have a driver's license taken away from an elderly parent--unsuccessfully; a barking dog? Good luck.

Louder with Crowder joins the women's march

http://www.dailywire.com/news/12739/hilarious-watch-steven-crowder-infiltrate-womens-amanda-prestigiacomo#!

He interviewed the women he marched with, but most had no idea why they were there, except to protest. . . something.

No one questioned his burly frame, muscles and wig, because that might be transphobic, or something.

Our voter fraud is institutionalized

Election Integrity should be a national issue says True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht who after wrapping up an interview on Fox, kept the cameras rolling for an impromptu DIY interview that focuses on solutions to the very real problems that are eroding our election process . (I thought the background in the studio was interesting.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrXwwfKrCY4&feature=youtu.be

Our election registration and fraud is institutionalized. Enrollment is based on self-attestation and the assumption people are honest when they fill out those forms.  There is no check for citizenship or anything else. Although states are responsible for registering voters, they are sued by the federal government and many leftist organizations if they try to check on the legality of the information. That is very expensive, but allowing non-citizens or non-residents of your state or city, is even more expensive.  Suppression exists from top to bottom for political advantage, and Democrats are so much better at this than Republicans as recent undercover tapes showed how it is done. However, if you're ignoring it because you vote Democrat, next time it could be the other party.

Could you vote in Mexico or Germany or Britain (on Brexit, for instance)? Of course not. Those countries are light years ahead of the U.S. in stopping illegals from voting. Our lax rules create distrust and low voter turn out.

Without Texas, the SOTU speech would have been very different

texasjobs1

“Since 2010, America has put more people back to work than Europe, Japan, and all advanced economies combined. Our manufacturers have added almost 800,000 new jobs. Some of our bedrock sectors, like our auto industry, are booming. But there are also millions of Americans who work in jobs that didn’t even exist ten or twenty years ago – jobs at companies like Google, and eBay, and Tesla.”

Wendy Davis knows no shame

The woman who made her pitch for fame and a place in the Democratic party on aborted babies and pink athletic shoes, is now going after her disabled candidate. James Taranto account:

The Washington Post calls it “one of the nastiest campaign ads you will ever see.” (Hope springs eternal.) It’s for Wendy Davis, the state senator who is the Democratic nominee for governor of Texas and is heavily disfavored for an office her party hasn’t won since 1990. As Politico describes the ad, it “directly references gubernatorial rival Greg Abbott’s partial paralysis—including the image of an empty wheelchair—to charge the Republican with hypocrisy”:

“A tree fell on Greg Abbott. He sued and got millions,” a narrator says over the image of a wheelchair. “Since then, he’s spent his career working against other victims.” . . .

The spot cites three cases Abbott worked on as a state Supreme Court justice or attorney general. In one case, Abbott’s office argued a woman with an amputated leg wasn’t disabled because she had a prosthetic limb. In another, he said a door-to-door sales company wasn’t responsible when one of their employees raped a woman. (The Texas Supreme Court ruled in the woman’s favor.) In the third, he helped a hospital defend themselves [sic] against a lawsuit after a doctor botched surgeries.

“Greg Abbott,” the narrator says. “He’s not for you.”

The ad’s—and Politico’s—account of the cases is tendentious. In that third case, for instance, Law360.com reported at the time (in March) that the plaintiffs were “challenging the constitutionality of a revised state law that requires claimants to prove that the defendant had a specific intent to cause injury or harm.” Abbott, as attorney general, sought to intervene to defend the state on that question of law.

At any rate, the “hypocrisy” charge is ludicrous. Is the Davis campaign’s position that if a lawyer has ever been the plaintiff in a personal-injury action, he is obliged to side with plaintiffs in every subsequent case, regardless of the facts or the law? (As a corollary, are one-time defendants obliged to side with all future defendants? Is a plaintiff who gets countersued guilty of hypocrisy either way?)

But distortion and illogic are not exactly uncommon in political ads. What makes this one unusual is the harsh way in which it seeks to exploit Abbott’s physical infirmity. The criticism has Davis on the defensive; the Daily Caller’s Alex Pappas reports that she reiterated the attack on Abbott this morning at a press conference “featuring speakers in wheelchairs.”

Wendy Davis lied about her life and the life of the unborn

“Wendy Davis, the Texas state senator whose filibuster for abortion rights made her a Democratic superstar and launched her campaign for governor, has admitted to the Dallas Morning News that she lied about key events in her life, including her first divorce. Davis may even have lied under oath, testifying in a federal lawsuit over redistricting that "I got divorced by the time I was 19 years old," when in fact she was divorced at age 21.”

A pro-abort who lied? Shock and awe. All the stats about back alley abortions were fake too, but it got the legislation passed 41 years ago that led to 56 million abortions.  Lies have consequences.

Stay tuned for the spin she’ll put on this.

“She’s trying to market herself as a crusading truth-teller for women’s rights in a benighted state. It doesn’t help when your autobiography turns out to be as fact-challenged as Davis’ for that sales pitch. Her divorce from her second husband as he paid off her Harvard bill doesn’t look too meritorious, either, even if he’s still supportive of her as a person and candidate. Instead of being a crusading truth-teller, Davis looks a lot more like an untrustworthy opportunist … like many politicians.

Besides, Davis’ entire platform rests on the claim that abortion doesn’t kill human lives, an assertion rebutted by elementary biology and in opposition to science. Regardless of how one feels about the sanctity of human life, there’s simply no getting around the monstrous lie of abortion. That’s the most important lie of the Davis campaign, and the one that corrodes everything else it touches.”  http://hotair.com/archives/2014/01/20/wendy-davis-autobiography-under-went-some-revisions/

It’s not pretty when you run as a strong woman, but used a man to get there.

Basically, every country music song that’s ever come out of Texas was written about Wendy Davis.

Wendy Davis’s decisions are hers to make, obviously, and all political candidates couch their personal histories in a light most favorable to whoring themselves out to people to whom they can no longer relate. After all, it’s not like Wendy Davis in her current incarnation, sporting thousand-dollar suits and five-hundred-dollar shoes is going to be able to convince anyone in Texas that she understands anything about their lives. But Wendy Davis has built her entire campaign on being a demi-goddess of women’s liberation, a self-made masterpiece of female empowerment looking to take women’s rights to the next level whether she has to do it in a pair of pink sneakers or a Reem Acra pantsuit. And yet, the missing details and contextual omissions are what ultimately tank her carefully crafted life story. At her core, she’s a woman in power because she used a man’s money and influence to get her there. -

Planned Parenthood fails poor women--again

Abby Johnson, a former PP employee, writes:  Abortion supporters complain that we prolifers have caused poor women to lose their access to healthcare...all because so many Planned Parenthood clinics are closing.

But here's the truth. Planned Parenthood CHOSE to close their doors...no one forced them. In Texas, all they had to do was stop performing abortions and they would have been eligible for all of that state money that was taken away from them. But they didn't. They CHOSE to close their doors and abandon all of those women who went to them for services other than abortion.

And since abortion is "only 3% of their business" it really shouldn't have been THAT big of a deal for them to get rid of the abortion services and stay open, right? (We all know the 3% number is a lie).

Hear this loud and clear. PLANNED PARENTHOOD HAS FAILED WOMEN. THEY EXERCISED THEIR RIGHT TO CHOOSE AND CHOSE TO STOP HELPING WOMEN.

Abby Johnson on Pro-life news in Texas

Good news from Texas! Tomorrow, our new RU486 law will go into effect...drastically reducing the amount of medication abortions performed in our state. Also, the law banning abortions past 20 weeks will go into effect tomorrow.
The law requiring abortionists to have admitting privileges will go to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. And the Ambulatory Surgical Center requirements will go into effect September 2014.

How to throw away your expensive PR campaign

"Planned Parenthood’s many years of expensive, positive image building seem to have been tossed out with the dead babies over the past three weeks, as it engaged with extremist factions, professional agitators, and volunteers in unleashing a barrage of terroristic threats and unlawful tactics intended to block legislation that it obviously fears more than anything it has feared in the past. Pro-life groups were asked by police to remove themselves from the rotunda during the second special legislative session, and were hidden in senators’ offices for their own safety.
...
... Planned Parenthood lost more than the vote. The story hit the mainstream media and, for first time, many people were exposed to the truth about Planned Parenthood: It is not a healthcare organization. It is a ruthless abortion and sex business that will stop at nothing to push its agenda and ensure its livelihood.

Planned Parenthood brought in paid agitators to disrupt the political process, but it did not pay off for them to mess with Texas."

First president ever to endorse or be endorsed by Planned Parenthood.  First politician to vote to let a born alive aborted baby die without medical assistance.

Democrats are so classy

They have a child holding this poster in the Texas capitol where they also threatened to show their “lady parts” and toss used tampons and sanitary napkins.  Wow.  These women are desperate to kill babies after 20 weeks gestation.

Snowden and Davis

We have strange heroes these days. Edward Snowden and Wendy Davis. Texas State Senator Wendy Davis, the woman they are cheering and admiring her shoes: "The law that Wendy Davis and her fellow “pro-science” acolytes so bravely stood against would have rendered it illegal to kill the child after this point [after 20 weeks]. And when I say kill, I mean kill. I mean break bones, rip apart limbs, crush skulls, drain fluids, still a beating heart, annihilate a brain that is capable of dreaming, and crush a nervous system. I mean: Kill. As David Freddoso put it yesterday, “Wendy Davis can now say, When the moment came to stand up for smashing the life out of a baby 6 mos into pregnancy, I was up to the task.” This is not an accomplishment of which she should be proud." http://www.nationalreview.com/article/352146/stand-death-charles-c-w-cooke/page/0/1

Americans required to pledge allegiance to Mexico in Spanish language class in Texas

“RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas - Every day students in Texas public schools pledge allegiance to the flags of the United States and Texas.

But when  teacher  Reyna Santos in a Rio Grande Valley high school assigned students to stand and pledge allegiance to the Mexican flag and sing Mexico's national anthem, one student, Brenda Brinsdon, refused.

The resulting controversy has one East Texas lawmaker wanting changes in the state's curriculum on how culture and patriotism are taught in schools.”

http://www.wfaa.com/news/education/Texas-high-school-students-say-Mexican-pledge-sing-anthem-One-refuses-134287008.html

“As an alternative task to reciting the pledge and anthem, she was assigned an essay on the history of the Mexican revolution — an assignment for which she received a failing grade.

According to a lawsuit, filed in federal court Wednesday (Feb. 27), Brinsdon was not allowed to return to the Spanish class after her story received media coverage. She was made to sit in the office each day instead of attend class and ultimately failed the course.”
