When friends disagree about voting, guest blogger Nancy

You are describing your party.

Your party has let over 1.2 million people from all around the world into our country illegally and those are only the ones they managed to stop temporarily.

Your party is allowing them to vote in local elections in some states.

Your party wants to let them vote in all elections in the future.

Your party wants to send out ballots to all who they show are registered without cleaning the voter rolls of those who have died or moved or now have dementia and those who have not voted in years.

Anyone at those addresses could vote in those other persons names because your party does not require ID.

Your party wants to allow people to collect as many votes as they can to drop in boxes in large bunches setting up possible vote buying.

Your party wants to accept votes cast up to 2 weeks past Election Day.

Your party brought out boxes of votes to count late on election night after they told observers to go home because the counting was done for the night.

How the hell is the party that wants fair and honest votes the one who is trying to steal elections?!!!

Biden is president. Not Trump. I do not agree with the way Trump handled the aftermath of the election. Many of the lawsuits he filed should have been filed before the election to challenge the unconstitutional ways some voting laws were changed. They were thrown out because of timing. I believe with all my heart that the instigators of all the violence on the 6th were not Trump voters. I have seen evidence supporting my opinion. I agree that some in the crowd were far right loonies. But no Trump rallies were ever violent. In fact most of the crowds were quite friendly and even cleaned up after themselves.

Have you seen news of the latest Durham report? Filings that show proof that the Clinton campaign had the Trump campaign, Trump and the Trump presidency hacked? The filings also show how the Clinton Campaign paid to use those hacks to create the illusion of a Russia connection to Trump. Brings back memories of how she paid for the now proven false Russian collusion dossier.

The pros and cons of the National Voter Registration Act, 1993

What happened to the Democrat party that used to believe in fair elections with only eligible voters? In 1993, with a Democratic Congress and President (Clinton) the National Voter Registration Act was passed. It requires "a reasonable effort to remove the names of ineligible voters" from voter rolls. In less than 20 years they've thrown that out the window and if local or state authorities attempt to clean up they are accused of racism or some other -ism.

What Democrats do love about the NVRA is it allows registering when getting a driver's license or registering to vote automatically when you register your car and then mailing in your ballot. So the result? Big push for illegals to get drivers licenses. In 2016 about 25% of votes cast were by mail--no voter ID with mailed ballots. And that is the end goal for the Left--no voter ID requirements at all, no voter residency requirements. Those who designed the NVRA probably had this in mind for the long run.

Actually, the big prize the Left lusts after is the abolition of the Electoral College, one of the smartest elements of the Constitution to keep us "united states" instead of New York and California states of America. If they succeed either with a constitutional amendment in which 40 plus states would agree to have no say in a federal election, or by casting their votes with other Democrat control states, most American voters would be disenfranchised and we wouldn't even need any rules for registration or voting.

Voting by non-citizens

This pre-Obama, pre-Trump article (from July 2008) on voting by non-citizens is interesting, well thought out, and shows how times have changed in 11 years. In the old days,  the onus was on the illegal behavior of the non-citizen and how it disenfranchised American voters. Now the writer would just be a white supremacist for suggesting illegal aliens and legal aliens shouldn't vote.

https://www.heritage.org/report/the-threat-non-citizen-voting?

The evidence is indisputable that aliens, both legal and illegal, are registering and voting in federal, state, and local elections. Following a mayor's race in Compton, California, for example, aliens testified under oath in court that they voted in the election.[8] In that case, a candidate who was elected to the city council was permanently disqualified from holding public office in California for soliciting non-citizens to register and vote.[9] The fact that non-citizens registered and voted in the election would never have been discovered except for the fact that it was a very close election and the incumbent mayor, who lost by less than 300 votes, contested it.[10]

What a sore, sour loser! Stacey Abrams

“This is not a concession speech,” Ms. Abrams said, delivering a fiery speech to supporters saying the voting process was poisoned from the start by Republicans — and in particular Mr. Kemp, who had been secretary of state until he resigned after the election.

He led by 60,000 votes, well over the number needed to avoid a run-off.  If every time a black and/or female candidate loses and she cries foul, what happens if there are two black candidates?  Doesn’t someone have to lose?

Considering Abrams’ socialist stance and Georgia’s traditional conservative views, Kemp should be embarrassed that his lead wasn’t greater.

https://amp.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/nov/16/brian-kemp-wins-georgia-governors-race/

NPR snarked that African Americans fought “only decades ago” for the right to vote and is playing fast and lose with history.  That was 50 + years ago and it was the Democrat Party that had special rules for blacks to votes, like counting beans in a jar.  If any election season showed why every voter needs to have ID it’s what has happened in Florida, Texas and Georgia. The Democrats are still acting as though blacks aren’t smart enough to follow the rules.  These recounts with people trying to figure out the “intention” of the voter are ridiculous.

Do non-citizens vote in U.S. Elections

This article was published in the journal Electoral Studies in 2014, and the authors wrote about their findings in the Washington Post, which because it is a liberal publication, had to post all the criticisms not in the comments, but in the paragraph preceding the article!

“Our best guess, based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, is that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010.”  This received no where near the attention that the “Russia stole the election” meme did. But it would definitely change an outcome like the close votes we’ve seen in Arizona, Florida and George in the 2018 elections.

The important thing here is, it was published before Donald Trump came down the escalator in 2015.

Voter ID

Yesterday I paid $4 for a spring coat at the Volunteers of America. Apple Green with a nice hood that folds inside the collar for those brisk lake breezes and I will keep it up at our lake house. I paid cash. The woman in front of me bought several nice winter coats for children. Her bill was $14 and she used a credit card. For that small purchase at a non-profit she had to show an ID. In fact, you almost can’t function in the USA if you don’t have ID to get in a government building or to make a purchase which shows you are alive and living somewhere with an address or a citizen. But Democrats rage. Why is that? Why do they want dead Chicagoans and live Hondurans cancelling out black votes?  This is a rhetorical question, of course.

Illegals really do vote--it's not that difficult

"While wandering around the festivities, I noticed a table with three nice ladies in front of a "Register To Vote" sign.  Curious about its presence at a festival where the bulk of the crowd was either illegal alien day laborers or legal non-citizens, I went over to inquire.  Before I spoke, one of those nice ladies asked me if I was registered to vote.  Wanting to see where this would go, I said no, and asked how to sign up. A voter registration form was thrust in my hands.  The very first item on these forms, in Virginia and the rest of America, was "I am a citizen of the United States of America," with YES and NO blocks to check.

"Don't I need to show you some proof of citizenship?" I asked. She replied "no."  I asked her how she could verify that I wasn’t lying. Sensing she might be on a slippery slope, she called over a supervisor from the Registrar's Office and told the woman of my concern.  The official told me they never checked citizenship status because I would be penalized if I lied. Really? So I asked her how she would verify my truthfulness, or those of the dozens of new voters being registered that day.  Defensively, she replied that they checked all registrations for accuracy at the Registrar's Office when they were turned in.

I called the Registrar Monday, and asked if they do indeed verify citizenship status.  I was told that they didn't unless someone made a specific complaint against an individual applicant."

Our voter fraud is institutionalized

Election Integrity should be a national issue says True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht who after wrapping up an interview on Fox, kept the cameras rolling for an impromptu DIY interview that focuses on solutions to the very real problems that are eroding our election process . (I thought the background in the studio was interesting.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrXwwfKrCY4&feature=youtu.be

Our election registration and fraud is institutionalized. Enrollment is based on self-attestation and the assumption people are honest when they fill out those forms.  There is no check for citizenship or anything else. Although states are responsible for registering voters, they are sued by the federal government and many leftist organizations if they try to check on the legality of the information. That is very expensive, but allowing non-citizens or non-residents of your state or city, is even more expensive.  Suppression exists from top to bottom for political advantage, and Democrats are so much better at this than Republicans as recent undercover tapes showed how it is done. However, if you're ignoring it because you vote Democrat, next time it could be the other party.

Could you vote in Mexico or Germany or Britain (on Brexit, for instance)? Of course not. Those countries are light years ahead of the U.S. in stopping illegals from voting. Our lax rules create distrust and low voter turn out.

Liberals call it voter suppression

Whether you call it "voter identification requirements" or "voter suppression" depends on your political views. In my city I have to show photo ID, sign a book, and have my signature compared as well as stating my address is the same as my ID. For every dead person who votes, or parking lot listed as an address, or non-citizen who votes, someone's vote is being stolen and people lose their confidence in the process. Only one party objects to clean voter rolls, and to my knowledge they don't roam the hills of southern (rural) Ohio looking for people Hillary Clinton wants to put out of work to take to the polls. However, when marijuana is on the ballot, I suspect both parties will be offering assistance.

Is voter ID racist

True the Vote released one of its largest voter-roll research findings to date this week, flagging more than 36,000 records in 16 counties for cases of duplications, death, double voting, minors registered, illegal addresses and so on. Maybe you're saying "so what," but this was Florida, the state where Democrats try to read minds in elections they lose based on hanging chads (a paper fragment when a hole is made). Every fake voter steals the right of someone who is a valid voter.

If voter ID is racist , how was Obama able to get 99% of the black vote and the black voter turnout exceeded white voters in both 2008 and 2012? Two elections aren't a pattern, but if black voters don't turn out for Hillary, don't say it's the fault of voter ID.

Not to worry—you won’t need to be a citizen to vote

“Monday’s big election law news came from the Supreme Court’s penultimate decision of the term upholding Arizona’s congressional districts.

But before handing down its last three decisions, the court made voting-rights advocates happy by deciding not to review a different election case.

“Arizona citizens can continue to participate in voter registration drives without worrying about not having proof of citizenship documents,” Shirley Sandelands of the League of Women Voters of Arizona said in a statement Monday.

The case, Kobach, et al. v. Election Assistance Commission, et al., was about whether Arizona and Kansas could require voters to prove their citizenship when registering to vote with the so-called federal form. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach led the suit against the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, which was an appeal of a lower court decision.” http://www3.atr.rollcall.com/supreme-court-victory-for-voting-rights-advocates/?dcz=

You would think being a citizen shouldn’t be such a tough one.  I can’t see Canada or Mexico letting me vote if I were passing through or had a summer home there. But I guess I don’t think like a Democrat. All that matters is pandering to that very powerful and growing demographic-- minority, black and young. They know where the gold is buried and that sensible people with common sense are aging out of the system.

Obama needs a fact checker

"Right now, in 2015, 50 years after Selma, there are laws across this country designed to make it harder for people to vote," President Obama complained at the Selma anniversary.

Blacks are now voting at a higher rate than whites.  Is there suppression of white votes because they need to show ID to vote (and to go into a government building, and to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy, and to cash a check, and to lease a car, etc.)

“We broke the old aristocracies, declaring ourselves entitled not by bloodline, but endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights.”  That’s correct (and this time he didn’t leave out the Creator, which he has done in the past); and now we have a president defying the founders’ plan of 3 branches and attempting to replace our presidency with a monarchy.

And then he says at Benedict College, “As long as you can go in some neighborhoods and it is easier for you to buy a firearm than it is for you to buy a book -- there are neighborhoods where it is easier for you to buy a handgun and clips than it is for you to buy a fresh vegetable -- as long as that's the case, we're going to continue to see unnecessary violence,"  (he’s speaking out against the 2nd amendment here, not making a case for capitalism).  I assume he’s talking about illegal guns and not illegal vegetables and books.  But after 50 years and trillions of dollars of the war on poverty and all the wealth transfers of 128 federal programs—many in the field of food and education--you still can’t buy vegetables or books in black and low income neighborhoods?  Whose fault is that? How could the government be  trusted with fooling around with the 2nd amendment if they can’t even get fresh vegetables to the city?

Voter ID battles

The lies Democrats are telling about voter ID and suppression and oppression of blacks are intended for one thing--create hate, anxiety and victimhood so blacks won't leave the Democrat controlled plantation.

How do Democrats get away with these lies

Watchdog.org is reporting that 308,000 Virginia voters are also registered elsewhere, according to an analysis of 22 states’ election records. How many of the 308,000 voters cast multiple ballots in a single election is not known, but the group Election Integrity Maryland found 164 individuals who voted in both states in 2012.

I volunteer at a free clinic in Columbus. I've yet to meet a client who didn't have ID--most are not driver's licenses but are provided by the state. They need it for government benefits. Why do Democrats lie about the importance of having an ID?

Who needs voter ID—The United States

Research commissioned by the Pew Center on the States

•Approximately 24 million—one of every eight—voter registrations in the United States are no longer valid or are significantly inaccurate.
•More than 1.8 million deceased individuals are listed as voters.
•Approximately 2.75 million people have registrations in more than one state.
Voter ID can't cure all these problems, but sure couldn't hurt.

Did you vote?

I voted today. Showed my ID, just as I do when I pick up a prescription, see a doctor, board a plane, cash a check or enter a government building. If I used a food pantry, I would show it; if I went to a free medical clinic, I would also show it.

“Stopping voter ID laws is crucial to Democrats who argue college students, the elderly and minorities will be prevented from voting under the new laws.

“It’s no surprise that these voter suppression efforts are being pushed by Republicans in key swing states,” said Democratic Governor Association spokeswoman Lis Smith.” http://dailycaller.com/2011/07/07/democrats-continue-fight-against-voter-id-laws/

So the elderly and minorities don’t need ID to get free medical care or government food, and students don’t fly or buy prescriptions drugs?

The voter ID victim scam

Democrats are trying to frighten blacks with the voter ID thing again. Last night I heard yet another Democrat claim that 25% of [poor?] blacks don't have ID. That would mean they also don't have a bank, a pharmacy, a doctor, a car, and they don't use food pantries or free medical centers or any government services. All require ID. What's wrong with you Democrats? Why aren't you helping them get identification and appropriate services instead of scaring them into being block voters?

I volunteer at a clinic where people either have no income or less than $15,000 and I have yet to meet ONE who didn’t have an ID, and some are foreign and some out of state.  Why are the Democrats lying about this? For the same reason they lie about the income gap—votes.

Photo ID

I volunteer on the west side of Columbus. It's not a "bad" area, but a little seedy. Yesterday I parked so I could make it through the snow, and noticed a sign on the door of an employment agency. Not one, but two, forms of ID were required to apply for a job. Must be a racist organization, although I'm pretty sure it was a government contractor.

On Monday I picked up my list of prescription charges from the pharmacy for our taxes.  My husband is not allowed to pick up the list.  I’m there a lot; they know me.  After giving them my name and birthdate, and they brought up the record on the computer, they asked for a photo ID.

In Illinois, the president’s home state, there is a new law that took effect on January 1, 2012  requiring all people who purchase drain cleaners or any caustic substances to provide a government issued photo ID. This happened because someone back in 2008 used a caustic substance to hurt someone.

North Carolinians marching to protest voter-ID laws had to present a valid photo ID to participate in an NAACP-hosted protest against voter-ID laws in Raleigh last Saturday.

And yet the Democrats claim that there is very little voter fraud.  How would they know? And how much is a little? And why don’t they want people to have identification for cashing checks, or picking up prescriptions, or applying for jobs?  So they can keep them helpless victims, dependent on politicians?
