Radiance Foundation calls out Lancet for treatment of women

WASHINGTON D.C. — British medical journal “The Lancet” is dealing with the ongoing controversy regarding the September 25 journal cover which labeled women as “bodies with vaginas.” People in Britain and around the world are condemning the controversial language, with one critic stating, “This framing makes it sound like a coincidence that ‘bodies with vaginas’ have been neglected by medicine, as if it were not the product of a discrimination and oppression specific to the female sex… Medical misogyny exists—and refusing to acknowledge women perpetuates it.” Another critic commented, “It’s really difficult to imagine why any medical researcher would want to submit their paper to a Lancet journal when they are happy to refer to women on their front cover with language which would be considered inappropriate even in a red-light district.”

Richard Horton, editor-in-chief at The Lancet, issued an official apology for the cover, saying that the journal accidentally “conveyed the impression that we have dehumanized and marginalized women” and that they “apologize to our readers who were offended by the cover quote and the use of those same words in the review.” Many critics are unsatisfied with this response, arguing that this choice of words promotes female erasure and bows to transgender ideology.

One should be an adult before choosing for no medical reason a double mastectomy or penectomy with castration and a lifetime on toxic hormones. Listen up sensible people--there is no honor, no common sense, no tolerance for the truth and certainly no freedom of thought, speech or religion on the Left.

Equality Act—it’s not what it seems

The misnamed "Equality Act" is coming THIS WEEK in a vote in the House of Representatives. What you need to know when you call your Member of Congress:

1. The Equality Act's unverifiable and unscientific attempt to address discrimination by elevating protections for certain groups on the basis of a new definition of sex is a direct threat against every woman in America.

2. The Equality Act would upend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by replacing "sex" with "sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity," placing "gender identity" among the protected categories of discrimination and segregation in places of public accommodation. The word "sex" would no longer be understood as "biologically male and female" in civil rights law. All federally funded entities would be forced to interpret "sex" as including multiple and fluid gender identities, or "the gender-related identity, appearance, mannerisms, or other gender-related characteristics of an individual, regardless of the individual's designated sex at birth."

3. The Equality Act would force public facilities to allow men and boys who identify as women or girls to use the same bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, domestic violence shelters, and prisons as women or girls. The Equality Act would force employers to hire or assign men who identify as women to jobs requiring sensitivity to the physical privacy rights of women and girls such as intimate medical examinations, supervision of domestic violence shelters or prisons, airport security pat downs, strip searches, or supervision of overnight school field trips.

4. The Equality Act would deny female athletes a fair playing field in sports competitions. Title IX, which bans discrimination for women and girls on the basis of sex, would be negated, forcing female athletes to compete against biological males.

5. America does not need the so-called "Equality Act" to protect our constitutional rights. Nothing prevents any person, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, from receiving equal protection of the laws under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Rather, this act will be used, as other gender identity policies have, to impede upon the rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls.

Wall Street Journal today opined "The left’s culture warriors always need new monsters to slay. Among their most improbable targets in recent years is the famously friendly restaurant chain Chick-fil-A, which this week appears to have surrendered.

In 2012 CEO Dan Cathy, a committed evangelical Christian, sinned against the progressive ethos by expressing support for the traditional view of marriage. That prompted a political campaign against Chick-fil-A."

Most of us who stood in front of a pastor, judge or someone with a mail-order license and daisies in her hair always believed marriage was between a man and woman. Even most homosexuals. But after activists succeeded in the insurance and work benefits demands, and told everyone it was just about love, things changed after the Supremes again made law and decided to change thousands of years of history. Now if you believe God had something in mind, or even if directionless evolution lurched forward to protect the human race, now you are a hater, bigot, and evil person. And an awful lot of gay guys ended up at the altar (and later in divorce court) who thought they were protected from all that their heterosexual friends and associates were going through.

But is wasn't enough, as we've seen from the growing transgender wars--which threaten homosexuals as much as heterosexuals and will destroy their movement. This Chick-fil-A thing is just one more hole in the wall through which the nation will be attacked at its base--the babies that are unnecessary and inconvenient; the easy divorce or no marriage at all putting generations of children at risk; the demand that we ignore biology and pretend men have periods and babies (which seems to be the only time the Left want babies to live); ignoring the child trafficking across the real border; performing drag queens during library story hour; the dropping birthrate to the place where our population can't be replaced without importing people like oxen to do the dirty work; and the required reeducation camps supplied by our "woke capitalists" and leftist universities. No one will be allowed to have a thought differing from the socialist/communist cabal that is controlling the government and academe.

It will not make any difference if in 2019 you were a social justice warrior who supported gay marriage or the chemical castration of little boys so they can pretend to be girls--eventually even YOU WILL FIND a split in the road and say you won't go down that path. You'll ask, "Where's my country?" Maybe it will be legalized pedophilia, or the redefinition of so much history you'll think you didn't go to school, or digital spying everywhere, or losing your job because you aren't a minority. Look out. Then they'll haul you off to the reeducation camp or the phony trial where you'll have no right to presumption of innocence because in 1850 your family came here from Germany or Ireland.

The party of Woke

Deval Patrick, recently of Bain Capital and Fox Business News, newly declared Democrat candidate for chief oligarch, states he loves that his party is moving further to the left. Indeed, we see that being played out in the hearings whereby the Democrats attempt to undo the election of 2016 and destroy the Constitution by inventing crimes, a system well known by leftists (Communists, Fascists, Socialists, statists of all stripes).

On MSNBC: “First of all, I love that the party has moved to the left. I love that we are the party of the woke,” Patrick said. “I believe that we also have to be the party of the still waking, and I have always conducted my personal life and my business life . . . yada yada" Strange talk for a wealthy venture capitalist.

By "still waking" I suppose he means more Antifa riots and college protests to silence conservatives, forcing women to accept men in their athletic events and locker rooms, destroying public schools with radicalized teachers, open borders for the 75 different nationalities entering the U.S. in the south including terrorists and trafficked children, full rights to our social safety net for illegal aliens, shredding the first amendment rights, confiscating guns from private citizens while allowing them for criminals, confiscatory green taxes to fill the wallets of government bureaucrats, reduction and weakening of the military, more sexual abuse of children aka transgendering through surgery and chemical castration and stealing your assets through a wealth tax.

Believing children’s fantasies

When I was a child I was horse crazy. Not only did I pretend my blue bike was a horse named "Red" (my best friend JoElla's bike/horse was named "Rusty" and oh the adventures we had), but at school recess I imagined I was a horse--could outrun all the boys in my class, too. My mother gave me wallpaper rolls so I could draw horses--all the time. At home I would gallop around the house on all fours, neighing and jumping around (imagine coming home from a 10 hour day on the fuel truck to that--poor daddy).

Fortunately, no teacher or doctor or parent took me seriously and knew I'd outgrow my fantasies. How did our society get snarled into these children's delusions and come to believe boys should be on girls' track teams using their bathrooms and pronouns? That it's OK to give children hormone blockers or destroy their body parts with surgery or chemicals. Why particularly are social workers, psychiatrists and surgeons falling for this tragedy called transgenderism? There are children born without kidneys, fingers, toes, arms, even brains. We don't say that is normal and everyone now has to play "let's pretend."

We know money is involved--that's always the first place to look. When same sex marriage was passed so easily, the agenda groups were left with bagsful of money and large staffs with no soliciting method. So an affliction of less than 1% became a cause and T was added to their acronym, although they really have nothing in common with homosexuals.

But there has to be more than just money. You can't even blame the Soviets, Maoists, or Che. Communists were always quite repressive about sex. It has to be the demand in our society to discount everything about a creator God who has a plan for us. Of course, Christians bought into it early on. Churches have caved to the contracept movement since the 1930s violating the first command to be fruitful and multiply. Then the demand for abortion in the 1970s became a mantra, a hymn for feminists, a "right" to destroy our future and our own children. And now we have a birthrate below replacement. The country can't survive and feed the hungry government programs without importing more workers, workers who will be willing to have babies, at least for one more generation.

The Left is schizo and psychotic. What they are doing to children while screaming about priest sexual abuse (which is far less than that from teachers) and #MeToo is just bizarro.

• they pump children full of hormones to delay puberty which will damage them for the rest of their lives;
• they allow young girls to be intimidated and bullied by boys in their own bathrooms, locker rooms and athletic events;
• then they punish them if they use the correct pronoun.
• This is a political agenda. In Columbus it was being promoted on a local "news" show a few nights ago, as a medical and human interest story because a 3 year old thought he was a girl.

People. You've lost your minds.

Boys will be boys

It was judges and bureaucrats writing regulations who decided that the word "sex" which refers to a biological fact in our laws which primarily protect and promote females, was interchangeable with the concept of "gender" which originally was a term for grammar. Gender identity is just what it implies-- a fluid term with no basis in fact or biology. The wording in our equal opportunity laws was never intended to include biological men in women's athletic events, pronouns forced on others or bathrooms.

If an adult white man can identify as a woman, he can also identify as an American Indian, or a 15 year old disabled kid who needs special treatment. Our Congress needs to change the law based on evidence so we have clarity instead of law suits and confused teachers and employers.

I'm not even that comfortable with SCOTUS, another group of judges, making this decision on who gets to change the law.

Georgia Tech student shot by police

I was wrong when I said there are no riots when whites are shot by police. The media do not identify Scout's race as they always do when a black man is shot, nor are they identifying (with pronouns) his gender, since he was an LGBTQ leader confused and unhappy in his body which is probably why he was asking to be shot while approaching police with a knife. And the rioters are not students--they are equal opportunity mobsters. Students were having a peaceful memorial, at least to an interview I watched.

I've read four accounts from NYT to ABC to Fox--all are extremely careful how they identify him-- "Scout," "student" and "LGBTQ activist." I've chosen the male pronoun because he was either a man trying to be a woman, so his DNA tells the story, or he was a woman trying to be a man and was using testosterone, which has been shown to be at the root of most violent and risk taking behaviors regardless of whether it is natural or injected.

Doubt--cancelled CBS series

We were in Columbus briefly for an artist event, so while unwinding at home I clicked on the TV by habit, and began to watch a CBS show called “Doubt.” Yes, a lawyer show. How original. About 15 minutes into it I realized that although the screen promo said, “New” this had a story line that goes back a bit. So I got on the computer and read that it was cancelled after two winter shows in 2017, but there were a number in the can, and what we were watching on August 12 were the last two episodes. Cliff hanger of course, and now we’ll never know . Did the pediatrician really kill his girl friend 24 years ago and his blood didn’t show it because he’d had a bone marrow transplant for leukemia years after the murder?

I recognized Katherine Heigl the lead who was obviously pregnant and all angles tried to hide it, Elliot Gould (former husband of Barbra Streisand who used to be a good actor but now seems way over the hill and not given anything important to say) and Judith Light (One life to live, Who’s the boss, and who looked 10 years older than her real age of 68). But the big “breakthrough” of this thankfully short series was a transwoman (Laverne Cox) in a a leading role in a love affair with a cis male (a person assigned male biology at birth). I think it means two gay guys who just don’t want to admit who they really are. We were treated to lots of smooching by these two, as well as two women expecting a baby and one has been busted for drugs and will miss her wife's ultrasound just to desensitize and assure us that all this is normal.

I don’t think it was pulled because of any concern about the transwoman (didn’t fool me--he still has a man’s voice and way too much make-up), or the white and Asian women expecting a baby--that ship has sailed, or because the hot shot lawyer falls in love with her client who may or may not be guilty of murder. It apparently just didn’t have the numbers after the first 2 episodes. Although the summer showings were stronger than the winter, that was probably because there wasn’t much else to do on a Saturday night in August in Columbus, Ohio.

Gender confusion

It is estimated that 0.3% of all American adults are transgender, but there is no agreement or definition on what that is or how you get there because it is based on a feeling about ones identity, not on biology or fact. "A transgender identity is not dependent upon medical procedures. While some transgender individuals may choose to alter their bodies through surgery or hormonal therapy, many transgender people choose not to do so." (Pew Survey, 2013)  I know anorexics who sincerely believe they are obese, dog owners who sincerely believe their pet is a member of their family, amputees who can still feel their missing limb, healthy people who believe they are sick and helpless, and rich people who live in fear of poverty. The feelings are real, but do we change laws, regulations and common sense to accommodate their feelings?

What's behind denial of biology?

There have been attacks on God's Word from the days in which it was passed along through tradition and story telling, to the compilation of letters by apostles sent to believers (the Bible), through false leaders denying the Trinity, discounting the body and blood of Jesus, on to inventing new theories for salvation, and scrambling to deify the culture in every century and especially in the seminaries. But the latest and most hostile attack is the hoax of transgenderism, that our unique design and sexuality and how God formed us male and female for the preservation and furtherance of the human race is just a human construct to be dismantled and revised as needed. It is just one more way to control people.

My issue is not with the less than one percent  who are confused about their gender.  My objection is the forcing by government regulations of their confusion on the rest of us with special pronoun rules, non-profits declaring we are "less than" and bigoted because we believe God's plan, and parents and doctors who sexually abuse minor children with reassignment surgery and hormones.

Trump, the Tranies, and the Deep State

Some time during the 2012 election cycle people in the deep state of the Obama administration made it clear to him that he would need to follow the LGBTQ agenda or else (some think that they had planned to out him, which would have little impact today, but might have in 2012) and all of a sudden Obama discovered gay marriage and transgender agenda were "human rights," whereas to get elected in 2008 both he and Ms. Clinton were staunchly pro-marriage as it had been understood by pagans, Buddhists, Muslims and atheists and our Founders since the beginning of recorded history. Unfortunately, these same agendists and gender-fascists also have Trump's ear and are still manipulating American citizens in the bathroom and pronoun wars.

Christians making tough decisions

California, and probably other states, has guidelines for teaching children gender issues in "health" classes, which include the current misinformation that biology changes. Parents can opt out, but not the teachers. I heard a middle school teacher on the radio who fears for her job because she cannot in good conscience violate her Christian beliefs. Not all persecution is having your church blown up or being kidnapped and sold into slavery.

It's not slavery, but in our culture and our century, Christians have to make choices about perpetuating and teaching lies to children. There are many forms of religious persecution. And perhaps Muslim men feel that not being able follow their beliefs about FGM because of U.S. laws is persecution. For some reason some feminists (from what I've seen on the internet) go along with that but deny our concerns about the bizarre transgender medical solutions to a mental condition which may involve removing penis and testicles or creating a penis and adding toxic hormones to the body of gender confused adults and children.

About 33 years ago there was a  part time librarian position available at OSU that fit my schedule needs--in Women's Studies. Although I was a liberal Democrat at the time, I was pro-life. I knew I could not reconcile my own values with the research needs of the library clients. I did not apply. God blessed the decision, however. Later in 1986 got the Veterinary Medicine full time position working with the greatest students in the country.

More on bathrooms, toilets and sex

Now we'll be getting protests about bathrooms and transphobia. Fewer than 1% actually have gender confusion. If you go back and look at what was happening in 2012 when Obama still preached traditional marriage you see this was being cooked up by the unelected federal bureaucracy--don't remember if it was the Department of Education or HHS. Progressivism doesn't work without victims, so as the gay lifestyle became more accepted, they had to find a new cause. After transgenderism it will be man boy love (aka pedophilia).

The big government over reach into forcing small churches, clubs and schools to spend millions on bathrooms was not about disorders, or testicles that didn't develop right, or boys who grow breasts. We're talking about the executive branch grabbing authority he didn't have to coerce 99% of the population into accepting a disorder, dysfunction or fantasy as reality. If he can do it for this disordering of nature, why not others? Not sure why erasing the differences between men and women is so critical for socialists and progressives, but I suspect it has something to do with the book of Genesis and the foundation of Judeo-Christian culture.

Obsessed with sex

Why is what's between your legs more important to Democrats than what's between your ears? Democrats are protesting, harassing, vilifying, destroying careers, businesses, and employment for millions in religion, academia, education, medicine, investment, the arts, design, fashion and military if the politico-sexual views don't agree with their own. It's gone beyond the toddler tantrum and middle school mean girls. You could almost assume they want the country to fail, particularly for those most vulnerable and insecure. If the Democrats lose that voting block, . . . well, probably the world as we know it would end. Millions of mid-level, well-paid hacks out of a job pushing papers and grants.

Since Trump won they've gone after the fashion industry, Milo Yiannopoulos (gay writer, but not socialist), a blind opera singer, all conservatives in film and theater, LL Bean's employees and owners, and before that innocent school children wanting to pee in privacy while Democrat bureaucrats advocate for sexually mutilating confused children and pressure the medical profession with loss of grants and publishing research.
