Did you vote?

I voted today. Showed my ID, just as I do when I pick up a prescription, see a doctor, board a plane, cash a check or enter a government building. If I used a food pantry, I would show it; if I went to a free medical clinic, I would also show it.

“Stopping voter ID laws is crucial to Democrats who argue college students, the elderly and minorities will be prevented from voting under the new laws.

“It’s no surprise that these voter suppression efforts are being pushed by Republicans in key swing states,” said Democratic Governor Association spokeswoman Lis Smith.” http://dailycaller.com/2011/07/07/democrats-continue-fight-against-voter-id-laws/

So the elderly and minorities don’t need ID to get free medical care or government food, and students don’t fly or buy prescriptions drugs?

Oh yes, students do fly and use their ID, but the airlines don't force them to have an ID that shows their college address when their ID still reflects their parents home. My drugstore does not require an ID when I pick up a scrip, they know me. I admit I did have to show my ID this past weekend when I ziplined, but they don't know if I actually live at that address. Admit it Norma, the GOP wants to keep minorities from voting. And the stall tactics will work for a few more years, but soon, very soon, all those lovely brown-eyed people will be the majority in the US. With any luck at all they'll be so turned off against the GOP we'll never have another Rep president for 50 years.

Admit it. The Democrats have no issues, and have to beat the bushes for this one. They were successful in deny the vote to minorities in the early 20th century and now hope to renew that travesty by stealing votes with their phony registrations and bussed in voters as they've done successfully in Ohio where you can find more registered voters than adults. And why are you so eager for statism and a one party system?

Democrats are only about shutting up anything they don't like. Never the facts, the morality.

This may work against the party of "No". Showing an ID isn't a bad thing, it is the short vote time, the distant some now have to travel, some without transportation. to actually vote..the GOP saw what happened last election and they smartly set about shutting down Democrat voters. But after years/decades of begging folks to register and then vote this smells to high heaven! I would stop short of calling this a racist thing as that serves no purpose because then they shoot back with calling us names and on and on and on.. Rather the GOP is all out to shut up anyone that doesn't agree with them and man, can they spend the Koch money to do it and the choices the GOP is giving us to vote for this time is a Ship of Fools. This may ruin the party and we NEED a two party system..the smarter Republicans get it. the fringe does not.

With enough lies from the left, yes it could hurt the GOP. I volunteer at a medical facility for the poor and have never seen a single one without ID or transportation. It is the Dems trying to shut down free speech, religion and assembly. They call anyone who disagrees with Obama a racist even though they can shut out Condi Rice.

In an off year primary with local issues, turn outs are low, but NC participation actually went up with their recent voter ID law.

Grammy is concerned about the fringe Republicans? How about the main stream Democrats who want an amendment to change the first amendment to suit their agenda? That's not fringe, that's unraveled idiocy.
