Because I used to print and bind my blog entries, it's easier to look back and read them than skimming a computer screen. I was looking at November 2005 (20 years ago) and found a fascinating collection of a blog called, "Who said it game--Iraq Style." It looks like it ended in 2005, or perhaps changed names. It clearly shows our populace what intelligence and information President Bush had from 20-30 years before we got involved there. Direct quotes from Clinton, Reed, Gore, Kerry, Pelosi and others who later blamed Bush and lied about him. Before they were smearing Trump, they were smearing Bush, and some of the same players. Then we called it "Bush Derangement Syndrome" and the hate, anger and evil were the same. It's not about Trump, it's about Democrat ideology.

John Kerry, December 14, 2001, Larry King Live: "Oh, I think we clearly have to keep the pressure on terrorism globally. This doesn't end with Afghanistan by any imagination. Terrorism is a global menace. It's a scourge. And it is absolutely vital that we continue, for instance, Saddam Hussein."

John Kerry, 2003 CBS Face the Nation: "Well, it wasn't only on that basis. ... Saddam Hussein could not be left to his own devices based on everything we learned about him for seven and a half years while we were inspecting in Iraq. People have forgotten that for seven and a half years, we found weapons of mass destruction. We were destroying weapons of mass destruction. We were, the United States of America, together with Ambassador Butler and the United Nations."

Bill Clinton, Address to nation, Dec. 16, 1998: "Heavy as they are, the costs of action must be weighed against the price of inaction. If Saddam defies the world and we fail to respond, we will face a far greater threat in the future. Saddam will strike again at his neighbors. He will make war on his own people. And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them.

Let me close by addressing one other issue. Saddam Hussein and the other enemies of peace may have thought that the serious debate currently before the House of Representatives would distract Americans or weaken our resolve to face him down."

Al Gore, December 16, 1998. On Larry King Live. "We need national resolve and unity, not weakness and division when we're involved, engaged in an action against someone like Saddam Hussein, who is trying to get weapons of mass destruction and threaten his neighbors... [I]f you allow someone like Saddam Hussein to get nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, chemical weapons, biological weapons, how many people is he going to kill with such weapons? He's already demonstrated a willingness to use these weapons; he poison gassed his own people. He used poison gas and other weapons of mass destruction against his neighbors. This man has no compunctions about killing lots and lots of people."

Madeline Albright, February 18,1998: "Iraq is a long way from [the USA], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."

Nancy Pelosi, December 16, 1998: "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."

So, you see, it's the same old gaslighting and finger pointing that we have today, then when things get dark and confusing, they bow out and point fingers.

Cleaning the gutters

We've had some really bad storms this summer--like the one that cost us over $1700 by blowing out the garage door openers and our phones. And the ones clogging up the gutters. Today there are some good ol' boys here to fix my clogged gutters. It's possible that a confederate flag on a cap isn't politically correct these days, but better than the hammer/sickle logo worn on the hearts of Fani Willis and Jack Smith who are interfering with the 2024 election at the direction of the Biden Administration and the Democrat party. I never thought I'd see 1930s Soviet style courts in the USA.

Our most famous election deniers are Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, and Stacy Abrams, all Southerners. Maybe they are still fighting the Civil War?

1) Sold his failing cable network to Al-Jazeera, an Islamic presence in our media and huge critic of US;

2) kept it out of... the hands of Glenn Beck, a libertarian and Mormon who made his money the old fashioned way (didn't inherit it);

3) avoided the new taxes of 2013 by clenching the deal in 2012, taxes he claimed were good for us;

4) will be paid in filthy fossil fuel money so he can enlarge his already huge carbon footprint.

Expect more global warmists fear mongering

            

Sandy was a terrible tragedy for many.  Lives. Property. Memories.  The climate will be blamed for “changing,” but not the federal government which has encouraged wealthy home owners to build in areas that need to remain barriers for normal outcomes of bad storms.  The poor aren’t the only ones addicted to government hand outs.

I’ve looked over the maps of Lake Erie going back hundreds of years  where we have our summer home, and right now the lake is very low.  But when we first vacationed there in the 1970s it was so high it was eating up many vacation homes built close to the water.  Artificial barriers were built to hold back the water.  That worked well—simply gouged out the beaches behind the barriers.

Historically, insurance companies have been wary of offering flood insurance to homeowners because the risks associated with flood insurance are difficult to forecast, so any private insurance that had been offered was prohibitively expensive for average homeowners.

But in the 1960s, frequent flooding of the Mississippi River was driving up the costs of federal disaster-relief programs. In an effort to reduce these costs, Congress set up the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to provide flood insurance to the general public and promote effective floodplain management. Under the program, homeowners in certain areas of the U.S. are required to buy flood insurance, and communities that hope to benefit from the program have to enforce city-planning regulations set out by FEMA, which manages NFIP.

Al Gore has made millions on his climate scam, and Sandy will only encourage him. In 1502 Columbus warned the Governor of Hispanola of a coming storm, and he was ignored. Within two days the storm struck in the Mona Passage between Hispanola and Puerto Rico, and sank 21 of his 30 ships, and killed approximately 500 sailors. Nasty stuff, that global warming.

The Slow, Certain Death of the Global Warming Theory

You certainly don't read about the death of global warming anywhere but conservative websites. If I link to Alan Caruba (this author), my comment window sometimes has to suffer from deletions. Wow. People get so angry when confronted with the facts which disturb their political views. And it isn't just liberals either. I listened to a Christian dispensationlist Sunday give exactly the same list of decade long disasters that Al Gore sites for his case--only he was using the list to call people to repentence because God was giving us a wake up call. Both have a very US-centric view of their own religion, whether it is environmentalism or dispensationalism.

Do you really think today it is worse than the little ice age when millions died of starvation in Europe? Are the wars today worse than the 70,000,000 killed by the Chinese Communists in the 1940s and 1950s? And do we even know how many were taken out by tsunamis or earthquakes in the days before recorded history?

What we do know in the U.S. is that we have more man made disasters with modern technology and disaster insurance enabling people to build homes along coast lines, or live in terrible climates because of air conditioning and central heating. But that can hardly be called God's warnings about the second coming of Jesus, or even climate change.

One need not be a climate scientist or meteorologist to conclude that humans have nothing to do with the climate or the weather. Watching huge hurricanes wreak havoc, along with other weather-related events should be enough for anyone to conclude that humans do not “cause” such things.

Occam’s Razor is the ancient principle that the simplest explanation is the most likely the correct one, but billions in public funding, taxpayer’s dollars, have been diverted to the “research” that corrupt scientists have used to justify the global warming fraud.

Misquoting Republicans is a cottage industry for the media

Sarah Palin never said she could see Russia from her house. So who did say it?

It was actually comedian Tina Fey, who was impersonating Ms. Palin on Saturday Night Live who uttered this line that is now widely attributed to the former Alaska governor.

The basis for this line comes from a September 2008 interview with ABC News's Charles Gibson, who asked Palin what insights she had from her state being so close to Russia. She responded: "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska." Christian Science Monitor

But never mind the truth--ridiculing Republicans, especially if they are women, gets more sales.

The same article, however, really splits hairs about Al Gore's famous, "I invented the Internet." He used the word "created." Well, that's a short stretch isn't it?

What else did Gore lie about? Everything.

I worked in the Agriculture Library in the 70s and 80s. I knew you just couldn't make the ethanol bio-fuel figures come out right. It was very hot research then, too. Too many inputs; especially water. And even 2-3 years ago, we were creating food shortages that caused riots in other countries.

Now Big Al has come clean. Sort of.

Of course, the worst thing is that all the investments and venture capital that has gone up in global warming smoke and mirrors is not available to do something really good and worthwhile to restore the economy.

Thinking about how it might have been different for the Gores--and us

When the news came out about the Gores separating, I started thinking about the election of 2000. I liked Al Gore back then, and wouldn't have been sorry if he won although I did vote for George Bush, having just registered as a Republican. Gore won the popular vote, but not the electoral vote. And he would have won that if even his own state had gone for him. But let's imagine he'd won.

1) The bitterness he felt toward the Clintons for not supporting his candidacy probably would have eventually melted away, but he would have made sure Bill Clinton, and possibly even Hillary sat on the sidelines for his 8 years.

2) We still would have had the 9/11 attack, and because the WMD drum beat had been building primarily by the Democrats (go back and look at Kerry, Clinton, and Kennedy) in the late 90s I'm guessing . . .

3) we would have been at war in Afghanistan and Iraq just the same--and maybe even more quickly and with no opposition from any Democrats, since Gore was their man . . . not even that young, inexperienced Senator from Illinois. President Clinton had missed an opportunity to capture Osama, so Gore would have been gleefully going after him. What a prize that would have been for him.

4) It's possible the war may have come to an agreeable end because it would have had full support of his party, giving less reason for the enemy to keep fighting.

5) But possibly it could have dragged on and on, due to bad intelligence, mismanagement of resources, etc., stronger al-Qaeda. That doesn't change with presidencies. Our current president has hardly paid any attention to it after making it a campaign issue.

6) We still would have had Hurricaine Katrina in 2005, and since all the disaster planning and red tape were directly in the lap of NOLA's mayor and the state governor, there would have been no difference there--not even in the billions of aid received afterward.

7) And if the long war continued, by the election of 2008, the country would have been so sick of "Gore's War," it would have elected a Republican--probably not McCain--and we never would have heard of Sarah Palin and she could have finished her term as governor of Alaska. Maybe Tom Tancredo or Fred Thompson.

8) The whole global warming fiasco would have proceded on a much more scientific, less hysterical routes, with Al Gore busy elsewhere, and no school child or college student would have been forced to sit through that dumb film. He probably wouldn't have been investing in carbon exchange businesses--serious conflict of interest for a president.

9) We still would have had the current recession because that was brought on by pushing people into mortgages (CRA) who really couldn't afford them, and then bundling and selling the bad debt, and that began in the Carter years, and was completely bi-partisan, badly thought out politics. Although the recession of 2000-02 might have lasted longer if Gore had been president--Democrats are reluctant to cut taxes to goose the economy.

10) John Edwards wouldn't have been a v.p. candidate in 2004, nor a presidential candidate in 2008 (would have been Leiberman), so he wouldn't have been messing around with and impregnating the videographer. So perhaps his marriage could have been saved, too.

11) No one would have heard of Barack Obama, in fact, Illinois might not have even reelected him to another term. I don't know who the Republican president would have been in 2010, but I know he would be making a lot of trips down to the Gulf and would not have hastily stopped all drilling with no information on the current problem, he wouldn't have been having show trials of CEOs, there wouldn't have been a deficit building stimulus package, and although like all Republicans he would have thrown more money at social programs, he wouldn't have taken over private health care. In short, if Al Gore had won in 2000, we wouldn't have the Obama years.

12) And finally, the Gores' marriage would have survived--at least I can't think of any presidential couple who divorced after 8 years in the White House--not even the Clintons who had good reason.

Forty years of standing by her man, and having their funds and lives co-mingled. And this is what it comes to . . legislating carbon caps, funding carbon research, investing her money in phony balony carbon exchanges like CCX  (worth trillions) while building and managing  huge homes, becoming a movie star celebrity, and denigrating her country. An aging, overweight, has-been hypocrite vs. your freedom and a huge settlement before it all collapses.  Which would you choose?

Or, and this is still my first guess, there's someone else. Counselor Mona Loeser in today's WSJ said, "It's extraordinarily unusual for a man to leave a marriage without having somebody." I heard my pastor say that in 1977 after 30+ years of marriage counseling. But he went a bit further--said he'd never known it to happen. I do know of one case--happened a few years ago--a man I know left his wife just to get away from her nagging and criticism, and there was no one else. But somehow, after 40 years, I would think the Gores would know how to deal with that.

I was as shocked and saddened as anyone to hear about the Gores. And there's no way I believe the story being put out--not after 40 years.

What has been accomplished at Hopenchangen?

First, and most importantly, it's another stage for our President who holds the record for a president spending the most time outside the country. I think because he really dislikes America.

Second, an opportunity for Kleptocracies to rattle their sabres.


Third, an excuse to burn fossil fuel and make huge carbon footprints before they outlaw jets, automobiles, and speaking out, all of which emit huge amounts of CO2.

Fourth, a fun time for marxist/socialist/progressive protesters, who all thought their grandparents had all the fun in the 1960s and a free night in jail.

Fifth, Hugo Chavez got a megaphone for Karl Marx.

Sixth, Glenn Beck got to joke about how to pronounce Copenhagen, driving Media Matters crazy because those people are humorless.

Seventh, yet another pulpit for the non-debater, Al "The science is settled" Gore.

Eighth, chance for greenies to attack a polar bear.



Ninth, not to forget why this happened, it showed how bankrupt, silly and meaningless all the climate change hoopla really is, and that it's just another wealth transfer to the pockets of dictators while keeping the poor in desperate poverty in third world countries.

Tenth, and finally, Hopenchangen, by showing the violence and thieving motives of the left really made the tea party people who have been meeting around the country planning to take their country back look even more sensible, well-behaved, strong, intelligent and patriotic.

The real threat from global warming

Contrary what Al Gore may have told you, sea levels have not risen, the Arctic ice is melting and re-freezing pretty much as usual (although the amount of ice seems to depend on whom you ask), the main part of Antarctica is colder than ever, and hurricanes have, if anything, decreased in severity. We've killed a lot of Africans and Asians with our messing around with malaria and other mosquito borne diseases--more than all the wars of the 20th century; more than all the lives lost in the transatlantic slave trade. But we could possibly do something with the money we're planning to throw at an unsuccessful warming trick. Like try to undo the damage.

"Take malaria. Most estimates suggest that if nothing is done, 3% more of the Earth's population will be at risk of infection by 2100. The most efficient global carbon cuts designed to keep average global temperatures from rising any higher than two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels (a plan proposed by the industrialized G-8 nations) would cost the world $40 trillion a year in lost economic growth by 2100—and have only a marginal impact on reducing the at-risk malaria population. By contrast, we could spend $3 billion a year on mosquito nets, environmentally safe indoor DDT sprays, and subsidies for new therapies—and within 10 years cut the number of malaria infections by half. Unfortunately, to environmentalists a perceived non-threat to polar bears is a bigger deal than a real threat to an African child.

More Al Gore misinformation: Several weeks ago, Mr. Gore claimed on a TV talk show that the earth's core was millions of degrees hot, and at the Copenhagen climate change summit, he claimed new computer modelling suggesting a 75% chance of the entire polar ice cap melting during the summertime by 2014. However, Dr. Wieslav Maslowski, the climatologist whose work the prediction was based on, refuted his claims. “It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at. I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this,” said Maslowski. Go home, Al. Buy a smaller home. Make a smaller footprint. You are an embarrassment.

The guy leading the global warming charge

If the interior of the earth is several million degrees hot, maybe that should be the cause of global warming instead of CO2 (which doesn't increase until after the temperatures rise, btw).

In explaining geothermal energy possibilities to Conan O'Brain Surgeon, Al Gore said, ". . . two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, 'cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees, and the crust of the earth is hot ..."

Close Al. Close. No one really knows how hot it is, but the experts' guesses are 4-6,000 degrees. Maybe Conan could use some of those extra Palin fact-checkers on his show. Or Al's next gig could be making up numbers for recovery.gov.
