Illegal alien vs. gobbledygook, doublespeak and political correctness

The correct term is illegal alien because an undocumented immigrant is not factual. It's fiction. The illegal alien may have a lot of documents--driver's license, social security card, or any number of fake documents. He also is not an immigrant unless he's gone through the legal process or may be a permanent resident.

Illegal alien is the term in law; undocumented immigrant, or undocumented worker, or unauthorized worker, are just terms meant to soften the blow that they are here illegally. The made up terms are used by word police who don't like our system of law.

What If Men Are Smarter?

             
Lots of people, millions and millions, are smarter than I am. Is that so awful?  And my math intelligence is probably below that of a 5th grader.   The majority of brilliant mathematicians are men—some are women—but a small percentage.  The women’s movement, the current one that developed in the early 1970s, has perhaps resulted in unfulfilled rising expectations, according to this Fiamengo File.

Janice Fiamengo’s reports (files) are available on YouTube.  She’s Canadian and an anti-feminist, not anti-woman. She’s anti-Marxism,  anti-PC, and anti-woman-as-victim, all of which encompasses today’s feminism.  She’s goes deep, and she’s not an animated speaker—sort of a Joe Friday style.  However, her logic and research are compelling.  Even so, I’m sure at some point the truth and facts will cause her to be bumped off YouTube.

Summers on absurdity in academe

Following the end of Clinton’s term, Larry Summers served as the 27th President of Harvard University from 2001 to 2006. In a 2005 speech he suggested that the under-representation of women in science and engineering could be due to a “different availability of aptitude at the high end,” and less to patterns of discrimination and socialization. That ended his Harvard time although there were other conflicts. In 2016 he was interviewed by Bill Kristol.

There’s really nothing startling about his comments on political correctness—conservatives have been seeing this totalitarianism for years, but wealthy, privileged liberals don’t seem to get it until it is turned on them, sort of like the show trials of the Soviet Union in the 1930s when the loyal party members were purged.

Prager University can undo years of misinformation in college

 Prager U videos are really great--they can teach in a few minutes what you won’t learn in a semester at a major university. In under 6 minutes, you can destroy years of academic misinformation with a Prager U video.

 What does Social Justice mean?  Basically, it’s redistribution of wealth.  That’s how the United Nations defines it. It’s a little like “Women’s Reproductive Health” is actually code for abortion anytime, for any reason. We need F.A. Hayek’s definition: he saw to the core of the issue--a pernicious philosophical claim to amass power for the state.  To the snowflake progressive, it means whatever they want it to mean.

Why do feminists persist with this oppression myth and the gender gap lie?  Because victims make better followers.  The need a base for their power position and interviews in the media and promotion in academe.  Most workplace pay gaps vanish if  you control all points, like part time work, or choosing a lower paying specialty like pediatrics instead of brain surgery.  And why wouldn’t greedy capitalists choose women employees over men if they can get them for less? The Judeo-Christian culture has greatly elevated the role and status of women compared to other religions and regions of the world.  Women are commodities in the view of many Muslims.  Which value system do we want in the West? Oh my. How did the SJW let this slip by? Oklahoma is the Choctaw word for "red people." Maybe when they are finished destroying the history of a vanquished foe in city parks, they can hitch a ride west with their hate? Political correctness in 1994

I was still a Democrat in 1994 and didn't change my registration until 2000.  The evidence from 1994 is that the worm was starting to turn.  This is an excerpt from a 1994 letter to a friend.

"I've always enjoyed large compilations of information--encyclopedias, handbooks, etc., so when I saw the title The Oxford History of the American West (1994) on the new book shelf at the public library, I checked it out. The cover is a lovely realistic painting of mountains, cowboys, cattle--probably by a WPA artist. But inside. Oh my. Political Correctness reigns. There is not a kind, decent or pleasant word about "our" country, the one we know. It glorifies every ethnic group that ever made it to either shore, and vilifies anyone of European descent. Although the authors are somewhat puzzled about how to write about the Spaniards. After all, someone might realize that Spaniards (Hispanics) were also European. Some sections are so odd, it is almost comical--if this wasn't being taught in schools. For instance, the Indians knew how to treat animals, because although they killed them, ate them and skinned them, they respected them. I seriously doubt that made a difference to the animals. This is followed by a section on how the wives and slave women of the Indian men spent their lives tanning and preparing hides (not presented as a negative against Indian culture). Apparently, political correctness doesn't apply if women are abused within the culture of a maligned minority."

So that was 23 years ago--that's a lot of misinformed students, and it's only gotten worse.

Paul Johnson is a very fine historian—love his “A History of the American People,” and he’s British. I missed what he published in April in Forbes about Trump and political correctness.

Trump was not my first or 13th choice, and pulling down political correctness wasn’t the reason I voted for him. That said, people are sick of this phoniness.

As I’ve said before, I’m a one issue voter, and believed this was the last opportunity to save babies. However, words like diversity, inclusiveness and multiculturalism have become the opposite of their accepted meaning. They might as well be called first cousins of racism, bigotry and exclusiveness.

Just for laughs, read the mission statement of a private school where wealthy and powerful liberal politicians send their children. In a school that is already only for the tippy top 1% in wealth, connections and brains, they are proud to tell you about their diverse and inclusive student body, which from the photos appears to be children of Nigerian or Chinese ambassadors.

When will women say enough?

Someone is always offended, but it's always open season on 50% of the population in popular culture like hip-hop, videos, cartoons, movies, half time shows at sports events, and advertisements which ridicule women as sex objects and morons. Like most things, women could stop it by just saying no I won't buy/support that product, but instead we've had 40 years of campaigning, work shops, new laws, etc.

That only leaves the obese, unborn (it, product of conception, parasite) and the elderly as unprotected classes of words.  A short list, isn’t it?

Swearing, cussing and four letter words describing genitals and bodily functions are OK with the left and right both.

Jimmy Kimmel and the kids

I was sitting in the doctor's office and CNN was on, so I watched the story of comedian Jimmy Kimmel allowing a kid to say that the solution to the debt problem with China was to kill the Chinese. So then came the "I'm sorry if anyone was offended" apology from Kimmel and ABC, but that's not enough. There are calls for his firing. Really? "Comedians" call for the death of Tea Party members and Republicans, and no one is fired and they label anyone who doesn't like Obama's policies a racist, a homophobe and a misogynist.

Then the news show brought on a Chinese American who felt compelled to review America's record with minorities, like how Asians were treated in the 19th and 20th century. From her accent, I guessed she was born in China, but was probably forced to give up her native language of Cantonese or one of the Wu language groups and flee for her life when Mao was killing 70 million or so of his own citizens. If China is upset, tough.

When I first read the story in the Washington Post today of Brittany Norwood brutally murdering her co-worker Jayna Murray in a Yoga store of Bethesda, MD of all things, I thought two things immediately: 1) Yoga--that eastern religion that’s supposed to bring peace? and 2) how can any woman stab another 331 times, then stage her own assault to deflect the guilt, and not have some prior warning that she was evil to the core?

I read the whole thing, and saw the photos of Jayna’s family (for awhile I thought the photo of Jayna's mother was actually a photo of Brittany the killer so I thought the perp was a white woman) without any knowledge that Brittany was black and Jayna was white. If it had been reversed, if the victim was black and the killer white, do you suppose any reader of the Washington Post could have come across that story and not known that?

Another item in this case not reported in WaPo is that the employees of an Apple store next door could hear the screams of the victim, and did nothing.

WalMart believes Moms don't watch Beck

On October 9 I wrote to Eduardo Castro-Wright of Walmart in Bentonville, AR about pulling advertising from Glenn Beck because of pressure from groups like Color of Change and MoveOn.org. I pointed out that they need a capitalist country if they are going to succeed and advertising with Beck, an old fashioned "muckraker" will help restore our economy (even though he's not a journalist--most of them are either dead or cowed into submission by pressure from special interest groups or the White House). Even though there is a black man in the White House, we Americans are being insulted and called racists by the leftist and marxist groups that support him. So when Obama showed he was one of them--prejudging an entire segment of the country in the Gates incident--Beck called him on it.

Do you know what Walmart wrote back? In an unsigned letter some department called "Executive Communications" wrote a reply very condescending to women, addressing me as "Dear Norma," about my "reaching out to us."

"Our ads are targeted at moms, and fundamentally these ads are about saving people money so they can live better. We buy advertising on shows that run the spectrum politically and socially because we want to be on the programs moms are watching. As our core customer, she is "the boss." At the same time, we want to make sure our commercials don't appear in programs that detract from the message we are trying to deliver."

Wow. Apparently they haven't read any of the conservative, politically astute mommy bloggers that I read. Ladies, I think you have your work cut out for you. Walmart thinks you're not interested in the future of the country. And just where is that "spectrum" of different political and social ideas? Even the comedy and drama series are getting their talking points from the White House. Are the moms only watching football? Gambling? Food channel? Those are the only shows I can think of whose outcomes haven't been influenced by the White House directives to continue campaigning for Obama's take over of health care and the global warming myths.

Also, there's a grammatical error in the first paragraph, but I won't embarrass them by pointing it out on my blog. Also, they seem to think Glenn Beck is a cable "news" show--another mistake. Opinion disguised as news is what Katie Couric and the New York Times do.

Is this good Latin?

I'm referring to use of "alumni/ae". Do we have to take our political correctness into a dead language? I by myself all alone may be an alumna, but I prefer to be part of the alumni. Can't remember where I saw this, but I don't like it.
