VAWA is not protecting women

Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act of 2022 (VAWA 2022) "is a federal law originally enacted in 1994 that today protects individuals who are survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity. It includes protections for survivors who are applying for or residing in covered housing programs."

Passed in 1994 with bi-partisan support, it is now a paper tiger as far as I can see, and just duplicates other laws about violence. It gets hoop-la in the media when it's renewed because of its name. Women/woman terms are no longer used. Over time in the reauthorizations, same sex couple violence and transgender violence and elder abuse and child abuse were added. The terms are now victim, survivor, person, spouse, partner and member of household. Some changes also were made in wording so that illegal immigrants had protection, services, and grants to non-profits. It's now just one more government give away to pay salaries of state and local bureaucrats and to keep the lights on at the non-profit skimmers. 

With the current renewal (signed by Biden) VAWA 2022 certainly does nothing to keep women safe from men in their locker rooms or from theft of their prizes in athletic competition. Someone should rename locker rooms  as "housing."

Glossary and Definitions for Military Transgenderism

Note the definition for RLE. That means the male or female in their original sex as born, as created by God, may be sleeping, bathing, toileting with members of the other sex before taking hormones or surgery. The example I was reading was what the commanding officer does when HE becomes pregnant if he hasn't completed, or begun, the transition. This apparently is why we have birthing persons.

These terms and their definitions are for the purpose of this issuance.

cross-sex hormone therapy The use of feminizing hormones in an individual assigned male at birth based on traditional biological indicators or the use of masculinizing hormones in an individual assigned female at birth. A common medical treatment associated with gender transition.
DTP A program established by the Secretary of the Army to provide a personnel accounting category for members of the Army Selected Reserve to be used for categorizing members of the Selected Reserve who have not completed the minimum training required for deployment or who are otherwise not available for deployment.
gender dysphoria A marked incongruence between one’s experienced or expressed gender and assigned gender of at least 6 months’ duration, as manifested by conditions specified in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders: Fifth Edition (DSM-5), page 452, which is associated with clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.
gender identity An individual’s internal or personal sense of gender, which may or may not match the individual’s biological sex.
gender marker Data element in DEERS that identifies a Service member’s gender. Service members are expected to adhere to all military standards associated with their gender marker in DEERS and use military berthing, bathroom, and shower facilities in accordance with the DEERS gender marker.
gender transition is complete A Service member has completed the medical care identified or approved by a military medical provider in a documented medical treatment plan as necessary to achieve stability in the self-identified gender.
gender transition process Gender transition in the military begins when a Service member receives a diagnosis from a military medical provider indicating the Service member’s gender transition is medically necessary, and concludes when the Service member’s gender marker in DEERS is changed and the Service member is recognized in the self-identified gender.
human and functional support network Support network for a Service member that may be informal (e.g., friends, family, co-workers, social media.) or formal (e.g., medical professionals, counselors, clergy).
medically necessary Health-care services or supplies necessary to prevent, diagnose, or treat an illness, injury, condition, disease, or its symptoms, and that meet accepted standards of medicine.
mental health provider A medical provider who is licensed, credentialed, and experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions and is privileged at a Military MTF (in the direct care system). Private care sector civilian TRICARE authorized mental health providers may be involved in a specific Active Duty Service member’s care. These providers are credentialed through the managed care support contractors.
military medical provider Any military, government service, or contract civilian health care professional who, in accordance with regulations of a Military Department or DHA, is credentialed and granted clinical practice privileges to provide health care services within the provider’s scope of practice in a Military MTF.
non-urgent medical treatment The care required to diagnose and treat problems that are not life or limb threatening or that do not require immediate attention.
PHI Individually identifiable health information (as defined in the HIPAA Privacy Rule) that, except as provided in this issuance, is transmitted or maintained by electronic or any other form or medium. PHI excludes individually identifiable health information in employment records held by a DoD covered entity in its role as employer. Information that has been de-identified in accordance with the HIPAA Privacy Rule is not PHI.
PII Information that can be used to distinguish or trace an individual’s identity, either alone or when combined with other information that is linked or linkable to a specific individual. Defined in OMB Circular No. A-130.
RLE The phase in the gender transition process during which the individual begins living socially in the gender role consistent with their self-identified gender. RLE may or may not be preceded by the commencement of cross-sex hormone therapy, depending on the medical treatment associated with the individual Service member, cadet, or midshipman’s gender transition. The RLE phase is also a necessary precursor to certain medical procedures, including gender transition surgery. RLE generally encompasses dressing in the new gender, as well as using self-identified gender berthing, bathroom, and shower facilities.
SCCC Service-level cell of experts created to provide multi-disciplinary (e.g., medical, legal) advice and assistance to commanders regarding service by transgender Service members, cadets, or midshipmen and gender transition in the military.
self-identified gender The gender with which an individual identifies.
stable in the self-identified gender The absence of clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning associated with a marked incongruence between an individual’s experienced or expressed gender and the individual’s biological sex. Continuing medical care including, but not limited to, cross-sex hormone therapy may be required to maintain a state of stability.
transgender Service member Service member who has received a medical diagnosis indicating that gender transition is medically necessary, including any Service member who intends to begin transition, is undergoing transition, or has completed transition and is stable in the self-identified gender.
transition Period of time when individuals change from the gender role associated with their sex assigned at birth to a different gender role. For many people, this involves learning how to live socially in another gender role. For others, this means finding a gender role and expression that are most comfortable for them. Transition may or may not include feminization or masculinization of the body through cross-sex hormone therapy or other medical procedures. The nature and duration of transition are variable and individualized.

The GIFT in San Francisco

I wonder what the proof of need will be? We have a SCOTUS justice who can't define a woman, and girly-men who can't compete against men saying they are a woman (whatever that is). I looked at the application (8 pages), not that one could live on $1200 in SF. It's simply setting them up for robbery and more mental confirmation they are victims, instead of providing them with mental health care. A Christian professor who sued his employer has lost—calling a trans person by their actual correct pronoun can get you fired.

“I encourage my students to express their political and religious views, and professors should have the same freedom,” Meriwether said in a statement sent out from ADF.

“But the University insisted that I endorse an ideology I do not believe is true. This is simply wrong. True tolerance must be a two-way street. Now the district court suggests that professors have no free speech rights, which should trouble us all. Public universities have no business compelling people to express ideological beliefs that they do not hold. But the court’s decision opens the door for them to shift from being a marketplace of ideas to an assembly line for one type of thought.”

Tips on language changes—how not to go to jail

Socialists are so creative with language--like AOC declaring free stuff is now "public goods." They decided "patriotism" is now "nationalism" which is like being a Nazi brown shirt. But being a black shirt Antifa who burns down buildings is OK.

Male and female pronouns have become hate speech. Sex became gender which used to be a part of speech. "Gender reassignment" has become "gender affirmation," because you can't reassign what was always there. Next week, it might be something else and then the word you used this week becomes hate speech.

"Negro" back in the 1960s was OK and "black" was an insult. Then black was OK and Negro was an insult. N-words are pejoratives and can't even be used in 19th c. literature like Huckleberry Finn when they were not pejoratives. They are only OK when used in a million dollar Hip Hop song sung by blacks, but definitely is hate speech when a comedian used it 15 years ago.

The AMA now uses the term "pregnant people" instead of "pregnant women" because faux men who actually are women need women's restroom and menstrual pads and everyone knows real men don't get pregnant.

Bias training, aka reeducation camps, are needed in universities for everyone, but only whites can be racists and white supremacists, or experience micro-aggression (a new term) and implicit bias and be guilty of thought crimes interpreted by Democrats and Socialists. Because hate crimes are so rare, one now needs to find them in experiences and places no one ever sees or experiences.

Everyone at university level are now taught that "implicit bias" is part of the human condition, sort of like original sin, and therefore, all need to have their minds cleansed of this evil--sort of like Christian baptism, but a lot less holy with no route to heaven.

Transwomen are biologically men

When I scroll through various news sites I see on the side bar, "Another transgender woman found dead." 1) That is not a woman, but a biological man. 2) Women are found dead often in those same cities, and there's no headline story for them. I heard about Samuel Little, serial killer of 93 women, for the first time this week.

The future is female, but what is a female?

Kristin Gillibrand (D- NY) has said something really foolish—the future is female.

The Left doesn’t want the word “female” or “woman” written or spoken because the masculine terms male and man diminish womyn’s power.

The Left is systematically destroying the hard won gains of Title IX in sports by insisting a transwoman is actually a real woman, and who knows what they’ll call him when they’ve succeeded in destroying the language!

The Left says gender is a social construct and that sex is bad science.

The Left reports that with enough hormones, pancake makeup, electrolysis and a convincing fantasy, a man with or without the amputation of his penis and testicles can take the place of women in affirmative action regulations proposed by the government.

The Left in one state already on the brink of financial collapse wants 50% of boards of corporations to be “broads.” What an opportunity for men who can’t compete with other men—just “feel” female and insist that only a transphobic capitalist cabal would reject him.

Can we legally change our age, like sex?

Every sane person with even a basic science education knows one's sex can't be changed. Sex not a social construct. Gender is a grammar term. But now that the idea that one can also choose to change the years lived, usually reducing, but I suppose some would raise so large numbers could vote, we have a new wrinkle (no pun). If fantasy, wishes and gullibility can change sex, why not age? Hormones and surgery will again come to the rescue! Look at all the laws we have based on age--social security eligibility, voting, driving, running for office, certain professions, marriage, age of consent. It's discriminatory. Yes, why not? We have 6 year old concert pianists; why not surgeons? The ultimate fountain of youth (or age).  I know many 75 year olds that seem to be brighter than college students, at least politically. Why not call them 50 if that's what they desire?

This report provides a list of definitions for LGBTQ youth at risk for health problems. It was sort of wordy, so I condensed a bit.  In a discussion group we were noting the changing terminology.

Cisgender: Individuals whose experiences of their gender match the sex they were assigned at birth.

Gender expression: The aspects of behavior and outward presentation that may (intentionally or unintentionally) communicate gender to others in a given culture or society.

Gender nonconforming: People who have or are perceived to have gender characteristics or behaviors that do not conform to traditional or societal expectations. Gender-nonconforming people may or may not identify as transgender.

Sexual orientation: Whom a person is physically and emotionally attracted to. Sexual orientation is distinct from gender identity; transgender people may identify as heterosexual, bisexual, gay, lesbian, or any other sexual orientation.

Transgender: People whose gender identity (internal sense of being female, male, or another gender) is incongruent with their sex assigned at birth (physical body).

Young men who have sex with men (YMSM): Young men who may identify as heterosexual but have sex with members of the same sex, often in exchange for money and/or material goods.

Young women who have sex with women (YWSW): Young women who may identify as hetero-sexual but have sex with members of the same sex, often in exchange for money and/or material goods.

Exploiter: An individual who uses tactics involving force, fraud, and coercion to control a young person’s involvement in the commercial sex market.

Peer facilitator: A peer, who may or may not be engaged in survival sex, who provides nonexploitative support to someone engaging in survival sex, so the person engaging in survival sex does not have limited mobility; decides what they do and what they trade sex for; and is not subject to force, fraud, or coercion.

Youth engaged in survival sex: The phrases “youth engaged in survival sex” and “youth who exchange sex for money and/or material goods (e.g., shelter, food, and drugs)” are used here to reflect young people’s experiences of involvement in the commercial sex market in their own terms.

Gay family: An alternative familial network of LGBTQ people that may act as an alternative to the family of origin from which many LGBTQ people, particularly youth, have been excluded. The term may also be used to refer to drag houses in the ball scene.

Ball scene/house culture: A community consisting primarily of black and Latino and Latina LGBTQ people organized around anchoring family-like structures, called houses, and competitive balls. [I’d never heard of Ball Culture, but you can find a description in Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_culture .  Apparently, Langston Hughes in the 1920s described it.)

Barrier and nonbarrier protection: Any contraceptive or other protective device or method used to prevent unwanted pregnancy or the transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or other STDs.

 Interesting findings about the almost 300 youth in this study (this is the 3rd report):

99% of these LGBTQ at risk youth in this study were using contraceptives (barrier and nonbarrier). [A quick look shows that compares with about 50% of non LGBTQ teens)

93% were using the services of a helping agency, 99% accepted help from them and 94% said they would seek help from that agency again

only 5% in the study were white.

47% male, 36% female, 11% transwoman (i.e.biological male), 3% transman (biological female), 5% other, not specified, or wouldn’t say

These youth are at greater risk than heterosexual male and female youth for violence, abuse, sexual victimization, mental health risks,  sexually transmitted diseases, and homelessness

Transgendered in the Military

Diane McDermott writes at Facebook:  "Currently you can't JOIN the military if you have any medical conditions that require constant treatment or excessive accommodation. That's why people with asthma, diabetes, permanent STD's/STI's (like HIV), people with cancer or a recurring history of cancer and individuals with physical disabilities can't serve (except in very rare cases where a specific waiver is granted). Transgender individuals require hormone replacement therapy, they require psychiatric care during transition, and if they elect to get surgery it can take 2-4 years for them to recover to the point of being eligible to deploy. On top of that, after the surgery they are at a higher risk of infection for the rest of their life, which complicates any attempt at sending them to the field to train where hygiene isn't always able to be pristinely maintained or overseas. An overseas deployment also puts the individual at risk because they may not have steady access to their hormone replacement drugs, which leads to withdrawal and hormone imbalances as well as health problems. So, just like diabetics and cancer patients and individuals with physical or mental disabilities, it just isn't feasible to accommodate these people so that they can serve. President Trump makes right decisions for the best of all Americans and it isn't always easy politically, that's the difference between this President, the past presidents and the politicals, he makes the hard decisions regardless of the political fallout."

I do not question the patriotism of the individual men and women who identify as the other and want to serve their country.  I DO question the patriotism of the LGBTQ agenda and political motives. The less safe they make the rest of us, the better.

According to an advocacy website for trans, 19% have HIV (most are trans women, aka men) compared to 1% for the general population. Also, it's feelings not surgery and hormones that determines the status. Suicide attempts are at 41% compared to 4.6% in the general U.S. population. In one state, it's about bathrooms this election

In one state the election has come down to bathrooms and child abuse. North Carolina. Without any input from Congress (whom we elect) a group of unelected bureaucrats in Washington decided in 2012 transgenderism would be the next civil rights movement. There is no medical diagnosis for gender dysphoria--it's completely subjective--how a person feels. The surgery and hormone treatments are becoming a big busine$$. Doctors can administer hormone treatment based on what a child wants (or his parents). Surgery is supposed to not happen until age 18, but doctors also get around that. It's child abuse. 

Puberty blockers that are not safe for children are administered as young as 11 or 12. These affect development and fertility and no one knows the long term effects because this is the first generation to be used as lab rats in a social experiment. The puberty blockers affect their sexual development when paired with cross-hormones and may stunt their growth, bone density and brain development. There is the potential for osteoporosis, blood clots, cancer and a higher risk for heart disease and diabetes. Cross sex hormones have irreversible effects on fertility.

You see, sex is not a feeling, it's biology. You can outgrow feelings; you don't outgrow your biology. Most of these kids would grow up to be normal, and if not, let them decide after counseling if this is really what they want. Transgenderism is less than 1% of the population, and among children, most will outgrow it. For that fraction of a percent we need to traumatize normal children?

Marriage won't fix these problems of disease and disorder

The CDC has reported that men who have sex with men contract HIV at 44x the rate of men who don’t.  New syphilis cases are 81.7%  MSM. During 2011–2015, the chlamydia rate in men increased 20.0%, compared with a 0.3% increase in women. Gonorrhea is increasing 3x faster among men than women.  Oral and anal sex, multiple sex partners including bisexual behavior with girlfriends or wives, and IV drug use will do that.  Men who have sex with men also have much higher rates of suicide, eating disorders, depression and addiction.  As any heterosexual couple can tell you, a marriage certificate issued by the state doesn’t fix you if you’re a mess.  Marriage doesn’t solve deep seated unhappiness, self esteem, career losses, unemployment, rejection by loved ones or distorted body image. Unfortunately, that’s the direction the LGBTQ torchbearers went--legal marriage intended for establishing families the foundation of society.  Rather than work for legal recognition for a lifestyle that fit their needs--perhaps a 5 year contract or unique financial regulations for support--they demanded complete acceptance from churches, government, society and family--a “just as if” marriage.  That became the goal; not the betterment of their followers.  And they got it. 

What about gay men and women who don’t have someone to love, or don’t have a toned and buff body to show off at the gym, or who don’t want to be political, or who don’t want to come out to mom and dad?  Too bad.  LGBTQ “leaders”  turned their vast war chest and efforts to the tiny fraction of vulnerable people, less than one percent, who are confused about their biology and birth certificates, victims of a fraud turning into a billion dollar industry.

The transgender scam

"In 2002, 61 percent of Fortune 500 companies included sexual orientation in their nondiscrimination policies, and just 3 percent included gender identity within those policies. By 2014 those number had risen to 91 percent and 61 percent, respectively." (International Business Times, Dec. 9, 2014.)

So 61% of Fortune 500 companies have bought into the myth that sex is not biological but a decision, fantasy, identity or dream, something we put on or take off. What a sorry mess this agenda has brought down on us, encouraged by our federal government, academic institutions and some churches. And it is women who will be hurt the most as men who have stalled in the career track become transwomen, a woman by choice/decision, or men begin to compete in sports against women previously protected by Title VII and Title IX, specifically written with the word "sex" and reinterpreted by faceless bureaucracy. To be transman or transwoman does not require shots, surgery or counseling, as we've seen from recent bathroom edicts, but only "identifying." But even with genital, chest and facial surgery, even with mascara and designer dresses, he's still a guy in every cell and body part..

 

So that would make "conversion" therapy OK because homosexuality is a decision or mental disorder and can be reversed?

Sex vs. Gender

There are certain biological malformations at birth that can cause some confusion about sex, but there's no evidence that sex can be changed with surgery, hormones and a president who's being held hostage by an aggressive movement to confuse people. These changes were being developed in 2012 by regulatory staff, around the time that President Obama did his flip on marriage,  not your elected officials. There's also no evidence that a simple, single stall or family restroom can't accommodate anyone who wants privacy, no matter how she expresses her discomfort and desire to use that assigned to a different sex.

It was regulatory bureaucrats who changed the word sex in title IX and VII to gender. This could destroy women's sports. The Courts have interpreted Title VII's prohibition against sex discrimination to mean discrimination against men because they are men and women because they are women. It was people with an agenda within government agencies that conjured up "gender identity." Gender is for grammar; sex is for biology. Don't get snowed by language.

Why does Obama want to destroy women's sports?

Women athletes, including lesbians, need to start speaking out against transgender, fluid gender, two spirit nonsense LGBTQ radical agenda. It's not transphobic to point out men naturally have testosterone and the equipment to produce it. A lot of it. Women have a little, but we have a lot of estrogen, and that allows us to have more fat, which allows us to be healthy mothers. We have wider pelvises which allows us to give birth, but makes us run a little lopsided and "throw like a girl."

Testosterone enables men to develop larger skeletal muscles as well as larger hearts. Men also have a larger proportion of Type 2 muscle fibers, which generate power, strength and speed. Testosterone also increases the production of red blood cells, which absorb oxygen, giving men an even greater aerobic advantage. In some sports, it might not make a lot of difference, like tiddly winks and gymnastics (we're more flexible), but if you've got an athletically talented daughter, speak up now, write your Congress person and demand justice for girls and women, before this administration destroys women's sports.

What's wrong with Adam Silver?

North Carolina is set to host the 2017 NBA All-Star game, but in a meeting with reporters today, commissioner Adam Silver said that the game will have to be moved if recently enacted anti-LGBT laws are not changed. 

• Transgenderism is far more dangerous than smoking or drinking sodas or using drugs, so why is the commissioner pushing a dangerous, high death rate life style?
• Forty-one percent of transgendered individuals attempt to take their own life, according to the Weekly Standard. That's more than 25 times the national average. 
• The average life expectancy of a transgendered individual is about 32 years of age (some sources say 35), according to the blog Transwoman Times.
• A survey found that 2.64 percent of trans people are infected with HIV — more than four times the national average rate, according to Live Science. 

I'll leave it to you to google the details. I did and it all checks out (most figures are higher), except for the far left sites which want to blame you and me for this and deny the statistics, or say the sample is just too small (the only time you'll see that from the left).

The same people who say we'd never know when a transwoman uses our restroom, also say they can't find jobs because of the gender issue and have to become street walkers and get AIDS. Yes, folks, it's not messing with biology and pumping their bodies full of hormones and chemicals, multiple surgeries, and mental co-mobidities, it's oppression by you and me.

The same liberals who decided the right to privacy (which isn't in the Constitution and had to be cobbled together from other decisions) meant the right to kill an unborn child, now are determined to claim that child who makes it through to birth has no rights to the binary gender system which humans have followed since the beginning of time because it might guarantee her some privacy in the locker room.

By the end of his term, the president will be out of the closet, either as a gay man, or a transwoman. His eagerness to transform attitudes and values to make this acceptable goes beyond his desire to change the health system, ruin the military and destroy the fossil fuel sector. Not only has the Education Department redefined the word “sex” in Title IX’s prohibition on “discrimination on the basis of sex,” it has also reimagined the meaning of “discrimination.”

Every day I see something new on normalizing pedophilia which will be the next "rights" push. What is wrong with these people? They are obsessed with sex.

The same day the Obama administration also announced that all hospitals who receive federal funds of any kind (including Medicare) must accommodate transgender folks and provide sex change operations and abortions or face legal action from the Justice Department.
